Came here couple times before when it was Marx Pioneer Inn. It changed owners and brand several years ago. We came because I had heard that they had good brisket. And they were right about that.

Its essentially a older home that was converted to a restaurant many years ago. Inside there is a large bar, a dining area (mostly tables for 6), and an outside patio area. The place looks a bit in disrepair (the front porch does not give a great impression), and could really use some TLC. Outside in the back is a volleyball court, kids playground, and a bar.

Came on a Saturday night, around 7pm. There were a handful of people around the bar, and a couple of small groups of diners. Got seated right away. Server got to us right away, but then the service for the rest of the evening was excruciating slow (and inattentive).

We ordered a Sangria and Beer. Apparently the sangria is not on the menu, but they did a good job of making one up. We got served in plastic cups, but saw that others were drinking out of glass (should we have had to ask?).

Ordered the Brisket Sandwich and the Pub Burger. Both came out relatively quickly (although they were waiting a while for the server to bring them to us). Both sandwichs were very good. The burger was flavorful, and hot. The sidewinder fries were also hot and well seasoned. The brisket sandwich was excellent. Couple of slabs of moist brisket, with a nice fat cap. The sweet potato fries were ok, but over seasoned.

After we got our food, our server was MIA. Never came back to ask how things were, and we had to flag them down to get our check. (they were chatting it up with some other employees near the kitchen).

In short, the food was very good. But the atmosphere and the server have a lot to be desired. This one did not make my "got to come back to" list.

I've eaten here a few times and have never been disapointed. I LOVE food, and I am a pretty hard critic of other peoples cooking, but this place makes my eyes roll 🤌🏽the food is really good! The service is fast and the servers are really sweet. Theres a great playground in the back for the kids and a really cute outdoor space. Theres beer too but I don't drink so I have no idea how that is, but the food keeps me coming back. This place is a hidden gem.

Went there last summer and food was great. Went again a few weeks ago and was disappointed. Ordered the same thing I ordered the first time and it was not the same. Buffalo Chicken Wrap with Sweet Potato Fries. Wrap was half the size, way too much hot sauce and hardly any chicken. I think maybe 8 waffle fries on the plate and they didn't taste the same. Portion sizes are small. For $18 it was a rip off. Ended up getting sick. Won't be back.

Would be 6 stars if possible. Absolutely outstanding little bar/restaurant serving the best smoked meats in the area. Started by sharing the smoked pork belly. Crispy, juicy, tender and flavorful. Perfect size for 2 people. Followed up with orders of smoked pork, smoked brisket (both with the recommended bbq sauces) and 2 different flavors of wings, the Carolina mustard, and Alabama white (slight horseradish flavor, not overpowering). At a loss to describe exactly how good everything was. Smoked to perfection. So good you could actually enjoy the meat with no sauce at all, if you wished. The guy working the bar and serving us our food, Jesse, was awesome. Knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. Took time to explain the recent menu revamp to us and make suggestions for the food. Potosi cave ale on tap, which was all I needed to know! Plenty of off street parking outside. All in all, a first class food experience that the wife and I will be in a hurry to repeat.

We got there at 5:30. There was a 30 minute wait, but there were 3 open spots at the bar, so we took those. Bartender got our first round of drinks quick, but closed out our tab instead of bringing menus like we asked for.

Asked another waitress for menus and eventually got our order in. Food came out and looked ok, of the 2 pieces of cod, half of one of mine was very undercooked, luckily it was the second half of the second piece, so it didn't ruin my entire meal. The first piece was very good though.

Bartender did come back towards the very end of the meal to get us more drinks, but that was after we had been sitting there for 35-40 minutes ignored.

She seemed to focus on the people on the other end of the bar a lot, so my guess is they either tipped really well, or were regulars. Seems like a lot of people know each other in there, so my guess is that if you get to be a regular you will have a great time. Unfortunately I will not be going back any time soon and will not earn my "regular" status.

Just a note, this isn't the first time I have been here. In the past I have been happy with the food and service, but the last couple of times, it has seemed to be declining, and both the food and service this last visit were disappointing.

Suggested Pop's Pub for a meetup with friends, but was very disappointed. We waited a very long time for our food, but we were patient as bingo was just starting at Pop's and the dining room filled up quickly. Had platter with brisket and ribs. Brisket and ribs were cold, dry, and overcooked. Mac 'n cheese was the only edible item on the plate and was good. Server did come to check on the table a couple of times, although the dining room was full, which was appreciated. Not sure if I will give Pop's another try.

My first time visiting was this summer. I had the brisket sandwich and it was very good. But, sadly, today was a disappointment, particularly because of the cost of the platter.

I recently hosted my baby shower at Pop's Pub in Muskego, and I couldn’t have picked a better venue! We held the shower in their backyard area, which was perfect for both adults and kids. The adults loved relaxing at the tiki bar, while the kids had an absolute blast on the massive playground—honestly, they didn’t want to leave!

Pop's provided everything we needed for a seamless day. There were plenty of outdoor tables, ample parking, and a spacious area for games and mingling. We set up an area for food, half of which was catered by Pop’s, and it was all a hit. We ordered their pulled pork, pulled chicken, mac and cheese, cole slaw, and garden salads, and I can’t say enough about the flavors. Everyone was raving about the juiciness and flavor of the food, especially the mac and cheese—it was creamy and delicious and didn’t last long!

Friends and family who came from out of town are STILL talking about how perfect the day was and even suggested hosting more events there in the future. Pop's Pub may be newer to hosting events, but with their fantastic setup, it’s worth considering for any outdoor gathering!

We had a party of 12 with a 6 pm reservation tonight. I was optimistic that even being a Friday night we would get decent service as they called me early in the afternoon suggesting that we pre-order to help them get the food out in a reasonable time. We did pre-order but they didn't hold up their end. 2 fish fries came out rather quick. 10 minutes later another showed up. and on it went with an entree here and a side order there over a total of approximately 25 minutes. In between I went in to get myself another beer only to find my waitress chatting with others. Then another 5 minute wait for the beer. The clincher was that two fish fries never came out. We were told they did but they didn't. When I said that she could come look at the plates in front of us to see for herself she said that they knew that they brought them out and became defensive. Meanwhile two of our guests essentially ate leftovers from our other guests plates. We then were billed for 8 fish fries after receiving 6. Ultimately a manager relented and credited us the two fish fries, essentially saying that he didn't know what was going on. Our further observation was that easily half of the other customers we saw had some sort of issues with their orders and service as well.

What is particularly frustrating is that the food that we did get tasted great. But no amount of good taste will overcome our negative service experience. Never again for us or any of the others in our party.

Worst brisket ever, it was so fatty you couldn't even chew it. Pulled pork was chewy & not tender. I would suggest going to LD' s BBQ or Primal Eats to learn how to smoke meat! We ordered old fashions, which they normally muddle the cherries, the young girl working the bar did not know how to make an old fashion and gave some terrible drinks with whole cherries in them. When we ordered food, two burgers, the bartender avoided us for the next 20+ minutes, even with an empty drink glass and served everyone around us. When we finally waved her down and asked about our food, we were told it was going to be another 20 minutes. Needless to say, we canceled our food, had to chase down our bill so we could pay and go somewhere that cared about their customers. Very disappointed, last time we'll ever go there again.

Was scrolling and saw the reviews of the Reuben sandwich and had to try it. Lived up to the hype, honestly the best Reuben I've ever had. Thick chucks of homemade corned beef that tasted smoked. I purchased a Muskego Warriors Football discount card last Fall and Pop’s Pub is one of the restaurants listed so we thought we’d stop in and give them a try for lunch.

We got the 3:3 smoked meats. Brisket, pulled pork, bourbon chicken, baked beans, Mac and cheese, potato’s. All absolutely delicious!! Smoke was just right and the Texas BBQ sauce which is slightly sweet and the KC sauce which has a very slight kick were both super fantastic! Pickles were sweet dill an excellent complement to the smoked meats. Cannot wait to return!!!

My friends and I have been coming here for a while now. Always a happy and friendly environment! The food is great and very consistent. I’m a huge fan of the Buffalo chicken wrap but their pizza is pretty awesome as well if you like a thinner cracker crust . They smoke most of their meats so if that’s your jam this is right place . Portions are ample. The owner is on site often and very friendly. I requested a whiskey I like and he ordered it and it was available the very next week, you don’t get that kind of service everywhere . They host a lot of events … Trivia , bingo, karaoke… Mark and his team are great ohh and they have their own line of popcorn ! Check them out , you won’t be sorry !

My friend and I opted to try Pops Pub for a Friday afternoon lunch. I was happy to see several tables full as it's a little off the main track and many Muskego restaurants have failed.

I'm hoping this one sticks around as the brisket sandwich we both had was terrific and the service was outstanding! They might be using a less lean cut of meat for their brisket, but quite frankly I don't care. It was tender, smokey and not at all dry. Both the sweet potato and regular fries were a thick cut and crispy. The extra side of barbecue I asked for had a little bit of a kick to it but great on the sandwich.

It appeared the female bartender was the only service staff, but she handled the tables and the bar perfectly! Very friendly and provided amazing service.

Looking forward to going back and trying some of their other items. The atmosphere is probably closer to dive bar than it is to Pub but frankly if the service and food are good, that's the least of my concerns.

We have been here several times and the food is always amazing and you get a good amount for the price. Have tried several of the smoked meats, and they have all been delicious, especially the ribs. Service is not great. Haven't always felt very welcome, and it was a bit slow getting the drinks/food. Seems like there is a lot of staff standing around waiting for the food to come up rather than checking on the patrons. I would still go back just because of the food though.

I would give this place ZERO stars all around. Very BAD food and HORRIBLE SERVICE.
I was there October 4th a Wednesday night between 5 and 7pm. Not very busy and I sat at the bar, it took the male bartender 15 minutes and I timed it to recognize me sitting there and finally said " umm did you want a drink" This bar tender was useless, very good at not looking at the customers and just walking around. I said I wanted to order food and I had to yell to get his attention. Very BAD bartender.
I ordered the 2 meat platter, chicken and turkey. It took forever to get my food and for a whopping $20 it was a waste of money. Tiny portions of meat , tiny tiny coleslaw, no butter for the tiny cornbread.
The chicken was ok at best, kind of old , but the turkey was AWEFULL. I took 1 bite and it tasted like it was fresh out of the microwave and was old tasting.

Not 1 of the bartenders asked me how it was or if I needed anything EVER. I wanted a second beer but could not get the guys attention ever and the girl bartender was just as bad I finally got her attention.
I then wanted my bill which seamed like a lot of work for the guy bartender to do and again I had to wave the girl down to pay it. She never asked me how my food was and seemed like I was bothering her to pay my bill. I told her that the meat was very bad and tasted like it was microwaved and she gave me a dumb look and said "um ok"

Your bartenders clearly dont care, this was my 2nd time here and the last time was bad as well, bartenders who are lazy, have a "care less" attitude and should NOT be bartending around people that are more then 3 total.

Your food is way over priced for what you get and the last time I had your "world famous" build your own burger and home made fry's. The burger was like a hockey puck, hard and ZERO flavor at all.
Whoever runs this bar needs to wake up and hire bartenders who care and know how to treat a customer and want to work.

The guy bartender on this night I was there should be fired he is useless, I watched him just walk around and ignore empty drinks and new people sitting down who WANT A DRINK.

Whoever buys your meat and prepares it is doing a very bad job at it. NEWSFLASH ... buying cheap cuts of meat are going to taste bad no matter how much sauce you put on it and why ask a customer how they want the meat cooked if it comes out hard and burnt to a crisp like your hamburger's? Over cooking it takes all the juice and flavor out of the meat. That is something a real cook learns day 1 of cooking school.

Pop's Pub is Fantastic! Good times Good food and super friendly atmosphere. Always a Good time at Pop's. Come check them Out ! 9-30-23 Just had there world famous Ruben sandwich with home made chips. It was fantastic! Smoked cornedbeef was perfect. Plus Bingo looked like alot of fun . Place was packed with people having a good time.

Sophia was a very attentive server. Polite and came frequently to check on food and drinks.
Ordered ribs for the first time. Pleasantly surprised with the flavor and tenderness. Definitely would order again.
Came with a group that had a few younger kids. They blew up the big Packer slide when they saw the kids on the playset. Mark came around to help and check on tables as well. Great visit.

Waited 1 hr before we overheard the cook say “if they want to leave tell them go ahead “. When we walked in the place was empty. It got busy and this guy kept pushing our order back. He served a carry out before us. What terrible service. The bartender kept apologizing for their cooks behavior. If I owned the place, I would fire this prick! BTw. It was a Sunday Night at 7:30pm

We have been back twice after our initial visit. Had ribs wonderfully flavored. Fish fries, sandwiches and kid’s meals all so delicious. French fries excellent. Definitely will keep coming back with friends and family.

I think this will be a good up and coming destination restaurant. Service was slow at best, a little disconnected at its worst. For three of us the waitress could only find one menu. A table that arrived significantly after us was eating by the time we were ordering.

We sat outside on a beautiful night. There were little fire pits present, but not lit, which was a bit disappointing. Live volleyball was taking place, the smell of meat smoking was in the air, and the atmosphere was great. But decades of grease clung to the side of a neglected building - a sign outside says they opened in 2021, hopefully this is something that will be addressed soon. Massive work was done to the property and was in progress even now.

The food was good. The homemade fries were tender and juicy. The chips were crispy. The burgers we had were good, and there was an effort to make mine medium rare and my wife’s well done. I couldn’t tell if they were fresh or frozen, but I suspect frozen.

Parking is tough. The lot is small. People were parked up and down Pioneer and the subdivision street next door. I was very careful parking along the road so not to upset the neighbors. Hopefully everyone is considerate. There may need to be additional parking added in the back before the landscaping is finished.
