The server recommended the branzino and it was so yummy. Perfect balance of light & creamy/buttery. That with a Chardonnay was perfection. I also enjoyed the chocolate & berries dessert. Service was wonderful. I went around 6pm on a Thursday so I didn’t have a wait. It’s possible the wait is longer on a weekend.

Eddie, who greeted us and took us to our table was fantastic. However, the waitress took a long time to not only get our drinks, but also take our order and for us to receive our food. We sat down at 5:55 pm and we didn’t get our food till about 6:40pm. I do recall stating to my wife “it shouldn’t take over a half hour to cook two burgers and fries.” With that said, the fries were hot and really good. The burger was not good. The bun was the worst part. It was “floury”. Tasted doughy and dry. It really took away from the burger rather than compliment it. I ended up eating it like an open face sandwich by taking off the top part of the bun. Also, to make it more flavorful we added mayonnaise and ketchup. The dish is really not worth the value. As a recommendation for if anyone reads it would be change out the bun. Maybe like a Brioche bun. Something not so thick and dense but maybe a bun that has a slight sweetness to it. I thought I took a picture of the hamburger but I do not see one. I likely missed it since it took so long to get it and I was hungry. The restaurant was not that busy at the time either so it wasn’t like they were slammed.

My wife and I came here for dinner while celebrating our babymoon, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the food was excellent. The restaurant manager Eddie went out of their way to make us feel special, and our server Amy did a fantastic job. We left feeling very well taken care of and grateful for such a memorable evening. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had breakfast and the service and food need lots of work. We were seated and the hostess gave us the menu, but didn't mention the buffet. The server came around minutes later and never mention the buffet. My husband and I finally ordered breakfast. I ordered the chicken and waffles. HORRIBLE! They chicken was burnt, almost broke a tooth trying to eat the chicken. The hostess sat a couple at the table next to us and told them about the buffet. I asked my husband if he remembered anyone telling us about the buffet and he said, no. I approached the hostess and asked who/whom responsibility was it to mention the buffet, she said it's her and the server responsibility to mention the buffet to the customer. I told her she failed and so did the server. I told them and showed them the chicken wasn't edible. They apologize, too late because my breakfast was ruined. So, basically I paid $17.00 to eat one small waffle. Server need to be trained because she disappeared several times and the restaurant wasn't that busy. I will never eat at this restaurant again. Overpriced! Food was TERRIBLE! THE SERVER AND HOSTESS CAN USE MORE TRAINING. My husband and decided to eat at KFC for dinner instead of going back to this restaurant.

Food is pretty good. As others pointed out, the prices are too high for the portion sizes. Service is hit or miss. We've been here multiple times for breakfast and dinner. We've had very good service & so-so service. We understand restaurants in general are short-staffed, but if a large party comes in, tell customers that and to please be patient. Don't just disappear, going far too long without checking on your tables and still expect a decent tip. Jack is a very good server along with Gustavo. Piper did good at first, but then most of her attention went to the large table, ignoring us and her other small tables. At breakfast, which wasn't busy, & they had 3 servers, we sat close-to, if not, 5 minutes before we were acknowledged and other tables that sat after us were handled. Talk to your staff!

the atmosphere is beautiful and the view is lovely however it was so slow with one main waitress working even when no one else was here. i love the abbey but this restaurant really let me down! the food was pretty good, the display was sort of messy but overall quite nice, however insanely small portions for the quality and price of the food.

I have been coming to the Abbey for a decade now. We attend their holiday brunches several
times a year. This year was a Huge letdown for at $70 a head + gratuity. Presentation was very good. The service was very good too. The food was not great for the price and it was hot in the restaurant. I had my teenage daughter with me. The price for the two of us with tip was $160. I would have rather ate dinner at 240 west because the buffet food was terrible. everyone agreed the food was terrible. My daughter couldn’t even eat the crab legs and gagged because they tasted so bad. The eggs benedict was absolutely disgusting. The yolk was really cold and watery. The food should be eligible if you are paying $70 a person. I’ve never had a bad Eggs Benedict until today. The bacon was chewy. Even my daughter couldn’t eat it. The only thing that tasted good was the roasted strip loin which was 50% fat when sliced. I feel really bad because I invited my friend and her family for the weekend. I shared with them how amazing the Easter Buffet was at the Abbey. They were disappointed in the food. I’m embarrassed that I recommended it to them. We honestly had a better meal at Egg Harbor Café on Saturday. We will not be back next year. I called the restaurant to provide feedback and the lady said “sorry about that”.

Don't bother. If you are staying at the Abbey, go to Chucks instead if this is your only option. We waited a ridiculously long time for someone to even take our to go order, with literally maybe 3 tables full in the entire restaurant. The hostess walked away and didn't come back for over 10 minutes. Then they make us wait 25 minutes for ridiculous portions at ridiculous prices. Not what it used to be. Won't be returning. Staying at the Abbey and absolutely will not eat here again. Not what you would expect from what should be a classy place.

Deciding to update my review. The Sunday brunch buffet is what my wife and I attend every now and then. It was always 35$ and the food is good, not spectacular by any means but still good. Well now it's 50$ a person. For that price I think we'll look somewhere else from now on. Maybe a once a year place now. For those prices I can go out for a high end dinner

The food is very average but expensive for what you get. I would not recommend anyone go here. We got the French onion soup and the burger. The waitress was friendly but not attentive. The atmosphere has a lot of potential. Great view and a live piano, which was nice. If they got the food and service better, it MIGHT be worth the price, but that’s a big MIGHT. Meh experience

The AC was out so it was quite stuffy. There is no signage in the parking lot or on the building so you have to go in and ask at the desk where the restaurant is. Once you find it, it's a very dated dining room with big windows and old furniture. The food was as to be expected. It wasn't mind blowing great nor was it bad. Typical wedding faire would be the best description. Employees were "nice"but no one seemed happy to be there. Don't think we will return for the price. They were nice and comp'd her scoop of ice cream for her birthday. Thanks

We will not be back. Went here to celebrate a 60th birthday and ended up spending the entire night apologizing to everyone that came. We had a party of 16 people, and had one waitress, who wasn't even a good one. The place was pretty much dead, maybe 5 other tables. From the time we sat down to the time we got the bill was 2.5 hours. People from our party had to get their food to go because who plans for that long for dinner? The waitresses made several side remarks when we asked for additional waters that "she had already brought water". Most of the food was great but the kids meals were border line inedible, some people recieved cold prime rib, and again just the timing. Not everyone at our table was offered drinks. The resturant had no air conditioning on an 80 degree day and we spent most of dinner with no drinks. Forced gratuity on horrible service, refused to split the bill and didn't tell us until the end of dinner with the comment "I don't make the rules". When a party is spending over $1000 on a dinner, they expect at least decent service. Out of the entire party nobody left happy. Super disappointed in the the "celebration" as a whole and will NOT be recommending to anyone in the future.

We came for our 10th anniversary on a Saturday night (stayed at the Abbey for the weekend), and were greeted with a smile by the host/hostess. Out server was Pieper, and she was good, but not great. We waited a long time in between table visits, and it was not busy at all. However, I attribute it to the atmosphere in the restaurant. The air conditioning was out, and it was an 85 degree day outside. My wife almost passed out because it was so warm, and we had to leave a lot earlier that we would have wanted to. We felt incredibly bad for her. If the air was not functioning, the least they could have done was brought a pitcher of water to the table, or came by more often with water. The food was great and well presented. Fix the AC right away, or shut the restaurant down. It is in very poor taste to have a great establishment, only to have a really bad experience to the point of almost passing out.

My friend and I were looking for a late night dinner after a long day. We came to the abbey and were going to go to waterfront but they were closed 4/30 and we were sad but the front desk worker Sam actually saw us and we asked if there was anywhere else and he showed us to 240 West! Sam was so nice and pleasant and just seemed like such a nice guy. Directed us where to go and it was amazing . We did come a bit late 9:30 and I was worried we wouldn’t be served but our server Jack let me know he could of course take us. He was so nice, smiling and friendly and had some good jokes!!! Our dinner was delicious we had the papadelle and mashed potatoes moscato and crème bruleee. Everything was exactly how we ordered. Our server jack had a smile the whole time and made sure we also had a smile!! He was attentive, nice, funny and we just had a great experience all around. My friend just moved to Fontana and now we will be coming here all the time!!!! Thank you to Sam and Jack at the abbey!!

We stay at the Abbey every year in April and 240* is where we always eat and it’s usually pretty good. 2023 last April wasn’t great but we decided to give it another try and I’m glad we did! The new chef is AMAZING! Everything was sooo good my wife and I both agreed it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. We had the Birratta salad for the app and for dinner I had the New York and my wife had the prime burger. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had at a restaurant seasoned to perfection! And the burger was the best my wife has ever had and I agreed it was sooo good. Crème brûlée for desert was also perfect “super light” loved this meal and vibe!! You need to try this place out

We stayed the weekend at The Abbey Resort. Did the breakfast buffet at 240 West both days as well as the prime rib dinner special Saturday night. The food was fantastic and the service was awesome. Especially, Jack, who was our server Saturday morning. Extremely friendly, professional and keeps you smiling with an occasional joke. Another treat, was getting randomly selected for a couple of homemade holiday pies from John, Saturday night. Nothing like surprise pies. We definitely will be back.

Great atmosphere but the food was a joke for the cost. You can eat better at Outback. In fact, I would rather have gone there. My prime rib was thin and looked "old", and did not come with the horseradish promised. My mashed potatoes were crusty like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. My wife's steak was overcooked, and her risotto was so under cooked it was crunchy.
It sounded like our server was the one making our drinks, and he couldn't quite get things right. My "signature" old fashioned had more ice than bourbon. It was like drinking a pop from McDonalds.
The bread was great and the fried calamari and vegetables were good. The asparagus with my meal was great. Ambiance was great. Still, we absolutely will not be going back. It seems like they're understaffed so I try to have some grace for that, but the food quality problems were still unacceptable.

We went there with our daughter and her husband. Three of us got the Pappardelle, and it was extremely salty, and not much short rib meat (you had to really hunt for the meat), with a disgusting sauce. We were told this was a popular meal, but it was almost uneatable, and my wife eventually sent it back. My son-in-law ordered a $50.00 steak medium rare and it came out well done, though he enjoyed his meal. We came here a year ago, and it was amazing, what happened? We also had to wait an extremely long time for our main course. A Lot of money for a mediocre meal!

On Saturday evening, Oct 7th I ordered a New York strip steak "medium" and it came out almost raw. It wasn't even "rare" as the inside was solid red and cold. I sent it back and had to wait 20 minutes and watch the rest of out party eat their dinner. When they finally came back I really think it was the same piece of meat that they just threw back on the grill. This time it was "medium" but now everyone had to watch me eat an unappealing piece of steak. No apology, explanation or discount was given. $44 for an undercooked steak, 6 pieces of overcooked skinny asparagus and a pile of 1/2 done fries.
I'm sorry but I expected better. We won't be back..... ever!

Our waitress didn't seem very present, especially watching the other wait staff in the venue. She forgot items, told us about it, and then never brought it anyway.
My husband and I both had the Friday night special. The steak was tough, and the lobster didn't have much flavor. The Mac n cheese was great, as well as the vegetable. Dessert was pretty awesome.
Overall, I'm not sure if I'll go back to this venue. I'd probably go and try one of the others on site.

Hotel charges you $35 per night in a destination fee that they give you in hotel credit. Problem is that there is nothing to spend it on other than liquor. There is no restaurant, no gift store or anything else to use the credit on. So if you don’t drink they just keep the $35. I know many hotels in New York through this, but at least other hotels have something to spend it on. The included breakfast was very poor quality and skipped it the 2nd day.

What really set our dinner apart was the server, Shanniel. We came to Abbey to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary, so we came here for dinner. It was a bit warm in the restaurant - not sure if the A/C wasn’t working. We did get a nice table by the windows overlooking the harbor.
With that said, Shanniel made our evening by serenading us with a song for our anniversary (he had a great voice!), when he served us dessert. I hope that he gets the props that he deserves!

Wonderful resturant inside the Abby Hotel and Resort. We went for the buffet on Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday buffet had a wide selection of food beyond a Continental menu. We had the salami/ cheese plate to start, kale Cesar (good/ large portion), tomato bisque (looked like a bowl of marinara, flavor was right, texture was weird), filet (meat cooked great, the sides weren't) and the herb crusted walleye (see below) . The service and atmosphere were great but the food options for gluten free were super limited. We do not recommend the walleye, it was pretty "fishy" tasting and the glaze on it tasted like syrup was poured over the top and did not go well with the crust. For the beautiful dining room and fireplace atmosphere, the food quality did not match.

They were clearly understaffed which was no fault to the staff. Our server was nice and helpful when she could be considering she was working several other tables.
It took about 45 minutes to get our food and when it arrived the fries were cold and the burger was under cooked and my $54 steak was good but the roasted potatoes it came with was a baked potato cut in half with zero seasoning or butter or oil. It was just a dry plain potato that wasn’t even worth eating. Not to mention my plate of food was also not hot it was just slightly warm.
Considering the price and time we waited we were extremely disappointed at the quality.
The server did however comp our desserts for the inconvenience and offer to replace the fries but we just wanted to leave at that point.

Couple things they could add some more appetizers, more dinner entrees, but I see how they like to keep it simple and elegant. Hopefully you keep your Pepsi contract. Extremely overpriced because The food is not good and very very small portions. Breakfast is a joke They can make cash Brown's Or Eggs... It's a shame it cannot be consistent in the kitchen is so slow sometimes breakfast would be at least 2 hours. Everything is really over price and Unfortunately that's it originally doesn't taste very good either.. Some really strange concussions and some of their dishes. We've stayed at the Abbey for over 25 years through The years.. The room changes in the food. Including the waterfront As really dwindled.. It certainly is not the same place it's just Like staying at a cheap hotel this is not a resort and there's really no place to eat and yet they bring in large families at those ridiculous prices.. The rooms have changed so much no microwaves and Really uncomfortable beds And no storage space for clothes. We are very very sad no use to be an incredible place because of The property itself.

10/10. My husband and I ate here for valentine’s Day dinner. Service was phenomenal, food was well thought out and perfectly executed, atmosphere was on point. The live music (a literal one man band) really made the evening feel special. Would recommend over and over again. The Abby checked all the boxes.

Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff is nice and friendly, and most importantly able to successfully accommodate a celiac party member (gluten free) without any issue. Much appreciated evening out!

Was not aware of the "buffet" until we arrived. The quality of food was not good for the price. Although there was only two of us and we only ordered two peligrinos from our waitress we were charged a 25.00 gratuity. Our total was $150.00 which would have not been a problem if the food was actually good. There were 3 crab legs left in the "buffet" as well as many other things. I would have rather ordered from the menu which I thought was available but it wasn't than pay for that. It was beyond terrible. We couldn't leave considering it was Christmas Eve and everywhere else was full or closed except for fast food. I also made the reservations 1 month in advance and wish I didn't. I do not recommend to anyone.

Fabulous cozy restaurant with delicious food. There are only 2 choices for a vegetarian main. The Carbonara pasta was yum. The Peruvian peppercorn garnish was an amazing touch. Nice appetizers and sides. Good selection of beers, and wines. Of course I went for my all time favorite spotted cow! Service was very pleasant. Loved the whole experience. We finished off our anniversary celebration dinner with a lovely Champaign on the house.

Wait staff was excellent. Not sure if they're working with a reduced menu but the choices were not thrilling. Chose the surf and turf dinner. Main course was wonderful but the first and third were underwhelming. Prices were high for the amount of food. Cocktails were good but once again pricey. Paid $14 for double shot of vodka with 7up. Coffee with bailey's was $10. Shocking when you get the bill.

Lovely view by the water side. The room is large and open with tall ceilings and a fireplace. The service was wonderful. The filet mignon was prepared just right and very tasty. The mashed potatoes were also very yummy. And I love bread and their bread gets a 10. I wasn’t too crazy about the cauliflower kompao dish. I thought it was too sweet more like the orange chicken sauce rather than the brown sauce that comes with the Kom Pao Chinese dish. The cauliflower though and vegetables were done right and still had crisp, which is so much better than mushy veggies.

Excellent service and great food! Our waitress (Levy) was sweet and friendly. We went with the sun/thur special and had the salmon and ribeye entress with house salad and lobster bisque. Delicious! Kindly accepted our request to substitute the risotto for garlic potatoes. The crème brûlée dessert was perfect. My only issue was the AC was lacking and the flies were bugging us. I will visit again when in the area.

Atmosphere is nice if sit close to the windows, overlooking the lake. Bread was warm and probably the best thing next to the onion soup which was a good size portion for $12. I ordered a 8 oz. fillet and asked to have it cooked medium well, and came out, medium rare. I had to send it back. When the server brought it back, the potatoes that on the side were cold. My husband ordered a prime rib and it was ok, but wasn’t too impressed by no means. Very bland , no seasonings added. The server drops off a steak knife and must’ve thought that my filet would be so tender, that the butter knife would work. NOTTT! I had to ask for a steak knife too. You would think any steak served, is served with a steak knife! Probably one of the worst filets I’ve ever had. Not tender, no flavor. Definitely not worth the money!

Everything we ordered was amazing! I celebrated my best friends birthday here and we loved the views of thr marina by the window and the cozy fireplace indoor. Gustavo was our waiter and he was funny, knowledgeable and really attentive even when the restaurant started getting busier. Our least favorite was the fried calamari (ours tasted a bit rubbery) but everything else we ordered was AMAZING and he even brought a birthday Ice-cream and chocolate cake at the end! We had an awesome time!!
Highly recommended!!
Can't wait to return this week for my birthday!

Absolutely outstanding. BEST fine dining in the area. The service was spectacular. Our server, Ed, was very good; he was friendly and fun, who knew the menu very well. Our food was off the charts delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly! The filet, the salmon, the short ribs, our appetizer… it was all so good! I’ve lived in the area for 5 years and finally went. Now I know what all the fuss is about. We WILL be going back, 100%.

Although our experiences here in the past are typically just average, we did have an elevated experience last night with our server Jack, whose sense of humor and wine knowledge really made for a terrific dining experience. Chef's preparation of their Snake River Farms Wagyu Ribeye was delicious and Jack's suggested pairing of their red blend Unshackled was spot on. 👌

Food was terrible, my filet was nothing more than salt and pepper. Cooked well done sake for mid rare. My wife salmon was ok. Waiter was nice. What was strange was how they seated everyone right next to each other. It’s a huge restaurant and there were maybe 5 tables with people. They just sat everyone right next to each other vs spreading them out for social distancing which they were more than capable of doing. Why they did t I don’t know, don’t really care but I did notice it made another couple uncomfortable! Just dumb on there part have a huge restaurant use it.

We stayed at the Abbey for a quick getaway. I was excited to see a seemingly higher quality restaurant on sight. The ambiance was nice but I was concerned to see that ALL guests were packed to tables in same area of the restaurant (along the marina side) and they continued to pack guests into the same tables one right after the other with minimal sanitization. The lights of the Marina reflecting off the water were pretty at night. Our waitress was a bit crude for a seemingly classy facility. She "icked" when I orded tea with sweetener and lended her education to me, stating that we are in Wisconsin and sweet tea is only a Southern thing. Oddly enough (and I didn't correct her) however, I'm from very Northern Illinois and most people I know drink sweet tea. Anyhow, I looked forward to having the vegetable ravioli all day but I ended up bummed once I got it. It was undercooked, bland and extremely, extremely oily and the oil flavor was just strange, almost bitter-ish. The ravoil pasta part (noodle doh) was rubberish-hard. It was definitely not what I anticipated. I could only eat one ravioli. The filling of the ravoil was good. The bread was tasty with soft inside and crunchy outside. The tea was a rich, flavorful brew. I did add raw stevia sweetener for my taste buds which overall was a welcomed treat. My date had the burger with egg. He had no complaints other than it being way overpriced for what he didn't have to pay for LOL... The waitress climbed the seat behind us to give the bill to my guy which added more fun considering I was buying. I'd he curious to hear how the other veggie ravioli people felt about the dish. I give two stars because my dates dish was fine, the view was nice, and the tea was good.

3 Stars is generous. The food is worth $12 to $20 a plate but they charge $25 to $40. The marketing is better than the quality.
Mexican omelet was very good but served with 65 cents worth of Cisco hash browns was a rip off. This was part of a $52 breakfast for two. My wife was unhappy with the duck and the halibut w/ beet risotto was okay (no actual beets, just red color). The wife also unhappy with French toast, Cisco canned fruit dumped on lower quality toast. Keep looking.

The convenience of a restaurant onsite is certainly an advantage. Wish the meal lived up to the nice ambiance of the restaurant/views. We had the duck entrée and chicken/shrimp gnocchi. Although the duck was okay the shrimp and chicken gnocchi were extremely salty. It felt as though the shrimp and chicken had soaked in salt water for days. Our appetizer was the popcorn cauliflower. Was tasty and a light appetizer before dinner. Slightly overbuttered but still good. Service from 'Jack' was very good and memorable- thank you! Live music was a nice touch [pianist playing]. For seating- would recommend sitting either next to fireplace or near window.

Went to 240 west for Christmas Eve Dinner. Highly dissatisfied with both the food and service. Ceaser wedge was only a few leafs and not an actual salad. Seafood platter was completely frozen and inedible. Prime rib tasted more like rubber than quality meat. When brought to the attention of our waiter, she said "it must have been a bad batch". Considering the price for this meal, not pleased with the quality.
