Service was ok. Didn’t get to try the food because there was moving bugs on the plate and the bread was moldy. Didn’t even get a sorry from the waitress. The bill did get comped but still not a good experience.
We made a reservation and asked to add 2 more to it but was told they were fully booked for the day. There were only maybe 3 other tables while we were there and many open. Not a good experience and wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Excellent breakfast. Small menu, but very tasty. I had the meat (Sausage) omelet with potato wedges and a really good garlic dip. Bring your own coffee flavoring. Price is a little high, but...volume is low, they gotta stay in business. I'll be back with my wife someday. I'm from SE Central IL...and work at Caledonia Haulers...our tank wash is out behind Menards on the far north side. (Bell St. Dead end).

I recently stumbled upon this delightful little mom-and-pop diner, and it quickly became a favorite! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! Every dish felt homemade, and you could tell a lot of love went into the cooking. Although it was a bit on the pricey side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance made it well worth it. When we walked in the place looked dirty and smelled weird. I got eggs and bacon and was told I would get a food bowl but it was just a couple of pieces of fruit And the bacon was VERY thin and the eggs was little I got a TINY glass of juice and was told i couldn’t get a refill even though she gave me the drink before my meal so I didn’t have anything to drink with my meal. Waitress was rushing us and took a long time to get us our check WILL NOT be going again Not worth the price AT all

Went there with my daughter and neither one of us like anything about the place. The food was dry and/or salty. Online it showed at the time they closed at 3, but we got in there at 12:15 and they told us they close at 1 and we had to pay in cash. I got the daily special which was tuna and it was the very runny and didn't look like tuna. The bread was hard. My daughter got a make you own sandwich with the soup and the soup tasted like pure salt. They kept telling us they closed at one and the lady brought the bill over before we got the food. Another couple came it at 12:30 and they told then they couldn't serve them because of the time. We definitely will not go back. I definitely do not recommend.

Wasn't especially impressed with my experience. I was unable to order any kind of latte as someone was filling in for whoever normally works. Coffee bar was available, but not what I was looking for. Ordered the vegetable quiche, which was okay but didn't have much flavor. Seemed more like a hang out for older folks or friends of the owners. Pastries looked overdone so I skipped those despite my interest before arrival. No one came to drop off my bill, had to approach the counter on my own. Saw the man who had been waiting on me sitting at a table, and I was never even offered a glass of water.

My regular coffee shop was closed so I stopped here. It was very cute and the food was very good. I love that fresh fruit came with my meal. The service was outstanding! Love the service here and food is delicious! The owner's dad took our order and he is so friendly. I have been here a couple times and he always seems to remember me! Stopped in for breakfast as first choice was packed. So happy we did. Obviously a place that has a loyal clientele. Most everyone was greeted by name. It was a little busy, but we weren’t in any hurry. Had the Raisin Walnut French Toast which was simply the best French Toast I have ever had. Given a choice of 2 or 3 slices, I opted for 2. BIG MISTAKE! I would have relished every bite of that 3rd piece. Nice thick slices of bread made in house. Took a blueberry scone to go.

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast as we wanted to support a locally owned downtown business. We were not acknowledged when we walked in so we just sat down. The waitress asked the people behind me if they wanted coffee. I was excited to hear there was a coffee bar. The waitress still did not acknowledge us. After several minutes we were given menus but not asked if we would like something to drink. I watched and heard the waitress carry on a personal conversation with a woman that walked in but was not a customer. Now we were sitting there for about 10 minutes. 2 ladies came in and wanted to purchase baked goods and the waitress did say people are waited on in the order they came in. She then took the order of the people behind me and walked away. We still had nothing to drink or asked if we were ready to order. At this point she went back up to the counter and waited on the ladies that arrived after us. We decided to leave after we had sat for 15 minutes.

My chicken sandwich was wonderful. But I bought some muffins and a few hours later I wanted one and it was hard, so hard that I couldn't chew it. I called the cafe and left a message but I didn't get a call back. All I want is to either swap the muffins for fresher ones or my money back. Not only that but the waitress was very rude to us. She was closing and was rushing us out the door and I didn't get my receipt and asked for one. She swore she gave me one but after arguing with her I said forget it. She rudely said to me that if I need one that desperately she would give me one. I paid with my debit card thankfully and can prove that I made this purchase. Anyway I strongly dislike this cafe.

I was just up there and received a stale muffin and and an Alcoholic tasting orange juice, so I call them and I’m telling the lady how my food was and she just HANGS UP ON ME. Saying I was talking to someone else, but after I was supposedly was talking to someone else, I continued my story for 15-25 seconds and she just hangs up. I will NEVER go there again. I’m not sure who was talking on the phone but I do know 1 of those ladies should not be working there. Their cranberry juice and their cookies however are very delicious!

I ordered sandwiches and deviled eggs for my daughter's baby shower on Oct. 29th. Angela made fresh and unique sandwiches on fresh rolls. I sent her a picture of deviled eggs designed as a baby carriage with baby inside and she did a fab job! Everyone loved them and commented on the good flavor of everything. Other places in Janesville that call themselves a cafe aren't very quality oriented where as 29 is very quality oriented . you pay for what you get now days ..... Wisconsin is a cafe type place ... The food was tasty albeit pricey for the portions given. The service was sub par, with only four other patrons in the restaurant. From the beginning I felt we were being commanded rather than having a warm experience. It seems like we were more of a nuisance being there 40 minutes before their Saturday close time at 2:00. With two gentle and restaurant-appropriate preschoolers in our group of five, I definitely felt kids were not their favorite customers over all. Cute atmosphere other than that.

This is such a sweet and quaint cafe. From the moment we stepped in we felt like we were in a cafe you might see in a french movie. We were greeted by a young woman who spoke to us like we had been customers for a long time and she shared what the specials were as well as the plethora of soups available. She was pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in helping us order something we would like. Our food arrived beautifully served and to our surprise, even was accompanied by fresh fruit as well our "sides." Everything was absolutely delicious, and so fresh. I loved the unique twist on the tuna salad - much more healthy than the mayo-infused kind normally served. The squash soup was outstanding. Everyone loved what they had ordered and we felt perfectly satisfied in terms of portion and taste. We saved room for dessert as the bakery selection was amazing, making choosing difficult. We ordered a few and shared with one another and again, was so impressed. This is the place to go whether getting together with friends, family, or even to have a little shower or work party. The menu has so many options to appeal to everyone, and the daily specials were delicious and reasonably priced. I really liked the fresh and healthier way things were made. Will definitely be back!
