Its a great place for breakfast, but its probably not for everyone. Why I like it: Down to earth working class people, atmosphere and most importantly food! Its not fancy, its kind of a throw back to the 1960's. Good food, good prices and you expect Andy or Gomer to walk through the door at any minute. I come here maybe once a month when I'm on the area, but the atmosphere is like Cheers, the know all the local regulars by name and have their drink ready by the time they sit down. I may not be one of those regulars but they treated me no different. A menu with exactly what I was looking for after a Wisconsinably night of drinking. Early morning hours (even on a Labor Day holiday). There is an ATM in the back by the bathrooms because they only take cash.

This restaurant is on a thriving street in Door County. We were visiting during the early part of the week. Immediately upon entering, the atmosphere was off. The TV was loudly blaring the news. No service for quite some time. When we did receive service, we notified them that one of our party was allergic to dairy. The server was not aware that butter was dairy. The server proceeded by saying "I'm no dietician". The restaurant was not able to provide information on ingredients in the foods nor if they could safely accommodate. By this point, we lost trust in the restaurant as a group and decided to leave and venture elsewhere.

First off, the place was freezing, like they shut off the heat a couple hours before close to save money. Service was fine I guess, average. I had the loaded baked potato hash browns, not bad, not good. Mom had an omelette that was so long that each end drooped over the plate and touched the table, used Canned mushrooms, like really? And slapped two broken up squares of craft singles on top, no real cheese on each of our plates, this is Wisconsin!!!! Decent coffee though. Booths way too narrow, run down look of the place, like everything slapped together like they decided to open a restaurant that morning. And who only takes cash in 2025?!?! Not even debit cards! The most lower-mid breakfast I've ever had. Place could do soooo much better so easily!!!! It has potential! Great location! Just do better!!!

Very disappointing. We live locally and have been coming here for years. The restaurant changed hands about 3 years ago and the service has been on a consistent decline. Waitresses are rude and look as if they could care less if you sit forever (or in our case at least 20 minutes) without water, coffee or a menu. We gave up after finally getting coffee. She wouldn't take our food order. Said she'd be back. Nope! We left $5 and won't be back. There are plenty of other places to eat that give good service, good food and appreciate having customers.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Waited over an hour to get our food and was told that's a "Door County breakfast". Ok? Several tables that came in after us had thier food before us and when we did get our breakfast, it was barely cooked. I'm guessing they forgot our ticket and had to made it fast. I always love stopping here…. But please please for the love of god turn up the heat. No one wants to freeze while eating breakfast. It was so cold in there every time I go. Also whoever was the cook on this past Monday teach them how to cook more than one thing at a time. 45 minutes for a simple breakfast when the place is half full is weird. Kitchen is visible through a window at the counter seating area. At no time did either cook wash their hands, and multiple times, “ready to eat” food was touched with bare hands. Cooks touched their faces, and at one point, the female cook stuck her finger in her ear, turned around, and used the same hand to place bacon on a plate. This place needs a visit from the local health department before someone becomes seriously ill. They also were allowing regular customers to walk freely back into the food prep and cooking areas. I honestly couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

I have to say, the reviewers of this restaurant seemed to have vastly different experiences, which made me a little nervous when we visited today. We don't live in the area and took a chance. We were not disappointed! This breakfast spot had good food, friendly staff and was within the realm of what we thought we'd pay given the impact of inflation on local communities. We would definitely come back.

My husband wanted lunch and I wanted breakfast so we compromised and went to this café. We ordered hashbrowns and a Rachel sandwich to share. The Rachael tasted like spam. It was pink and did not taste like turkey at all. I took one bite and couldn’t eat any more. When we asked the waitress what the meat was she insisted that it was turkey. We said regardless it taste terrible and that we weren’t going to eat it. She did not offer us some thing else and told us that we had to pay for it. She was very rude. Average breakfast food with disorganized service. We placed our order at 10:30(for some reason the server wrote 10:40) while waiting for our food we saw 3 tables who seated after us get served their food. One was 10 minutes after us, another 15, and a customer at the bar almost 20. All of these people were done eating and leaving when our food finally came out at 11:30. Me and my family went here since we saw if had 4.3 stars, but was totally tricked when we got our food. Had good service but food wasn’t good. Had the 1/2 bacon cheeseburger with fries and the burger had no taste, it was juicy though. As if if they injected grease into it, to make it appear as grease. The fries were plain. No seasoning or anything. Just fried fries on a plate. The B & G had no flavor in the gravy and the biscuits were chewy and dry. The scrambled eggs weren’t even that scrambled. The French toast tasted like cardboard. I didn’t try the chocolate chip pancakes but looking at my sisters, it looked like a burrito from the way it was rolled up. Mothers over easy eggs were over cooked. Just over all a bad experience and it is way to over priced. I could’ve cooked better breakfast at home. Overall, I give it 1 star from the good service but I wouldn’t give it any stars for the food, or the out dated restaurant due to the high prices. Paid $70 for 6 when I could’ve f gotten better food at McDonald’s

First off. This place is a dump! Secondly, I ordered the Loaded Hashbrowns with scrambled eggs! It was horrible! It was supposed to have cheese bacon and sr cream. I literally was eating just hashbrowns. Not enough cheese or bacon and the scrambled eggs were not that. Very nice small town business! Got a friendly "good morning" the moment we walked in the door. Our waitress was a sweetheart. Food was good, served very fast, even with a slight addition on my part. The waitresses are great, the location perfect, atmosphere homey but the food is just okay. It could be better in my opinion if they used real butter. We were told there wasn’t any in the cafe at all...a shame given Wisconsin is the Dairy State. I also prefer the previous owner’s thinner pancakes.
