Phenomenal service. We got here at 8:40 (20 mins before they close) after driving from Chicago to stay the night in Eau Claire. We were doubtful we'd be able to order with how close to closing it was but they were so kind and let us order still. The entire staff was so sweet and made us feel right at home. I got the battered shrimp and my husband got the battered walleye. Both were really good! We also really enjoyed the salad bar and the pork stew. If we find ourselves back this way, we will be back.

Want a supper club vibe?? This place is it!! Really good food, great drinks and prices during happy hour are insane. Old fashioneds and margaritas from Emily are better than most we’ve had on our 30 day supper club tour all over the state. The lake perch was great and the salad bar was fresh. Definitely try their homemade cheese curds. Fun time with Emily and we will be back when in the area.

I didn't expect we'd find such a hidden gem for dinner. It was a small place a bit out of city & not impressive from the outside. However, the food & service were excellent. We had livers & onion, and they were awesome.

If you're expecting white linen tablecloths and a concierge, don't come. If you're expecting outstanding food and personal service...definitely come! The Ribeye is one of the most flavorful steaks I've ever had. Perfect mashed potatoes. Salad bar with homemade soup. Classic brandy old fashioned. And very reasonable prices! So so good. One suggestion- they need to offer a dessert choice. You need a good dessert to go with that wonderful meal. Well done!

This place is hard to get in! Their service was friendly, and patient. However, it took a long time for us to get seated and receive our food so I can't give it 5 stars. Also, be warned about their cheese curds! They have 2 options where one of which is fried cheddar cheese cubes, not curds. Overall, a decent place for dinner but you shouldn't go alone, with how long the wait can be!

Came in with a wedding party who had booked in advance. Upon arriving, found out that there had been a mix-up and our reservation was not being honored. As someone with 15+ years in bar/restaurant service, I find this unacceptable.
I will say, the bartender who served us was congenial and the one round of drinks we ordered while scrambling to make other plans was well-made and served quickly. Still quite upsetting.

Our waitress, sister of the owner, told us "you never know what you're gonna get with a ribeye".

$21.95 x 2 for 12 oz ribeyes which were horribly full of grissel, NOT marbling. But hide it under the mushrooms and onions.

No apologies or concessions.

We're ribeye lovers and this was the worst we've EVER saw.

I’m sadly on the hunt for that fish fry I remember when I was young. The bar was hopping.. and the salad bar had plenty of choices. But sadly wasn’t a fan of the food. I still give five stars as again, I’m looking for something specific. So they are doing everything right. Would be nice to leave a pitcher of water at tables if too busy to do refills. But it’s a bar so 🤷🏽‍♀️. I think for bar quality they have great food.

Review for Friday Night Fish Fry... It took an hour to get food once seated. While we waited, our waitress filled one round of the three so we took care ourselves at the bar, nbd. Once the food arrived I got 1/2 a cup of tartar for 4 pieces of fish. The fish was room temperature... we were a party of 2. The main dinning room had four tables empty of customers. The fries were hot but the potato inside the fry was grainy like a raw potato. I haven't sent food back in years, sent it all back. Fish came back hot which was nice. Fries came back undercooked and still fiberous like raw hashbrowns. Prices for a white claw and spotted cow tap was $9... a bit steep.

We had heard very good things about their Friday night fish fry and decided to try it. (We have not been there since Smiths owned it - we used to be regulars then.) We called earlier to see if they took reservations and were told they do not. Understandable. Were told to come around 4:30 and the wait should be 30 to 45 minutes. We were there by 4:20 and told it would be about a 45 minute wait. We had drinks at the bar. My husband went to check on what estimated seating time would be at 5:30 and was told it should be about 45 minutes. So we waited until 6:15, checked again, and were told again about 45 minutes. My husband was not happy and explained that we had been waiting since 4:20. (And, I want to point out so were people all around us at the bar.) Amazingly, about 15 minutes later, we were given a table. Someone came relatively quickly, gave us water and took our order. By 7:30 we had our water and had gone to the salad bar but no food. The waitress had briefly stopped by several times during the hour to say that our food should be out shortly. So by 7:30 we had had enough, got up, stated our displeasure to the hostess and gave her money for our salads. She responded with a snarky 'have a good night' and walked away from us. Needless to say, we are EXTREMELY upset that we wasted a night out as we can't even say if they had good food or not since after over 3 hours we still did not have our order just small salads. I understand a business being busy but their customer service was horrendous - why didn't someone go around to people waiting and waiting and apologize? (Would have spent more but had only had some drinks and salad. See question below.)

It is a "different" place than expected. The bartender was friendly, our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was surprisingly good. We tried the tater skins and large cheese curds for apps. They were good. I had the California burger and my son had the cod fish sandwich. Plentiful and made well. The burger was juicy and perfect, with toasted bun. We were pleased. Thay also offer a salad bar.. The ambiance left much to be desired. It's a dark place with tiny windows which makes you feel like you're on a boat. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable. But if you don't look around and just go for eats, it's a fine place. I'd go again.

Just south of Interstate 94 at the Highway 37 exit. Small and rural. Great selection of food. Good service. Huge plate wide walleye. Very good salad bar. Very reasonable price. Lots of parking spots because they also have a large room with tables for group events. There is a separate bar area with a few tables. 2 separate birthday parties happened while I was there in the bigger room. So expect some background chatter. A regular country restaurant with good food, good service and good prices.

Over an hour and half for dinner. Ham steaks were lacking flavor, my hashbrowns were half burt making every bite taste bad. They did swap them out for fries. That took 30 seconds, so I don't get what all the wait was for.
