It's super cozy with delightful couches instead of boring stools by parts of the bar and the overall retro ambience makes you feel like you're home. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful of a bar this place is! They have a large variety of craft beers as well as cheap staples like Coors. The cocktails and mocktails are delicious and there is always a rotating monthly menu of additional options. Speaking of mocktails, this is a great third place for sober or sober-curious individuals. Pretty much on any given day there is an event happening (We love Wednesday night karaoke!) which makes it a great community space. The bartenders and owner are the sweetest and will always make sure you feel at home.

New to town and looking for a local bar to hang out take it easy. A place that’s laid back no issues no Attitude no BS. And I think I found it.
I’m not quite sure but I think it is an alternative lifestyle bar. Which is fine with me.. I accept everyone for who they are. But the relaxation and the vibe here is really good. Pretty unique setting.
I’ve been here before with my son and his girlfriend, but this is the first time I’ve come here alone. It has my Don Julio, which is fine with me.
Imagine this place were rock at midnight or so.
If you come to town and stay in the hotels come here for a drink. Very worthwhile.

Levi (the owner) is a talented creative master when it comes to making up a monthly drink menu and weekly event calendars! There is always something happening there! Stumbled in here rather early for a Friday night (it was us, the bartender, and Lady the corgi for a bit), but we were fully taken in by the ambiance and the staff. A former employee took us on a tour, and what a fun setting. Could imagine having a blast here if we weren’t too old to make it to a reasonable drinking hour.

WOW, first time'ers, 4 of us stopped in after dinner at Zen and WOW, so LOVED IT, very laid back, totally different than any place we have been. Walked in, WOW the vibe was just WOW is all I can say. I couldn’t leave 0 stars. 5Bar is a place I’ve gone to here and there to support homies having rap shows or DJing, even open mic nights which I think is terrific. Literally enjoyed this place until blackout Wednesday when one of the 5Bar workers swung and tried to assault a friend of mine. The business begged my friend and his group to not call the police and then got kicked out and banned. He actually had to tell someone else to go in and get his glasses and jacket because they wouldn’t let him out. Also at my work, my coworkers often have gone to 5Bar but stopped after some predatory behavior done by the business owner and possibly some questionable substances entering drinks.

Originally a great plce for Beloit, especially after C House got shut down on the Beloit College Campus. To see the way 5Bar has gone, I will not be giving them any business or good words.

Also, the dude who assaulted my friend is known to be a menace around alcohol and has a history of being a bit abusive. Ironic they are saving face as best they can. Don’t go here, plenty of other Beloit businesses to give attention and your money, especially when you have to consider your own personal safety before walking in the door.

A comfy, and charmingly quirky bar, the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else in the area. Rotating themed beverages, lots of events. The staff are among the friendliest I’ve met. On the weekends, there is a club-like atmosphere in the sectioned-off dance floor.

Always liked this place and had come before with many friends until I had a weird interaction with the owner.

He came up to where our party was sitting and asked why someone turned off a lamp near where we sitting. One of my taller friends politely explained it was directly in his eyes and was bothering him. He explained he didn’t know it was any issue turning it off and apologized. Owner wasn't happy and implied if we didn't like that light we should just leave. Other employees were very friendly!

This place is truly a home away from home. The doggo, the couches, games, cocktail and extensive beer list. I truly cannot wait to come back. Also a very SAFE environment for ANYONE ♡ all gender restrooms available, sinks are further in toward back room FYI
