There’s a reason this is the “one and only” location. Liver lacked any seasoning, was overcooked, chalky and lukewarm. Mashed potatoes were served cafeteria style, both the potatoes and gravy were bland and nearly cold.

Overall would not recommend for dinner, for the price you can eat elsewhere and get better quality food.

All of my food was cold. I had the special, I paid 30 bucks for a meal that equivalent to a T.V. dinner. Definitely frozen food. The slaw sandwich was good, but is equivalent to a fast food chicken sandwich, nothing special considering the price. Fries were good and service was quick, but a little TOO quick. This place was delightful, organized and lovely with its aesthetic by the signs, the foliage giving it color and the decorations for Valentine’s Day coming up. The decorative little hearts made me smile when I sat down. I got the bacon, chicken ranch wrap with a side of fries and the loaded potato soup. The soup is made in house and seasoned so well, the wrapping was done perfectly that it made no mess through any bite and the chicken never overpowered the vegetables. Service was excellent and kind in answering my questions on the food. The quality, service and value was worth it without a doubt.

Came in there for breakfast, first time ever being there heard good things, however when I got my biscuits and gravy the biscuit was obviously old as it was stale and chewy. Waitress never came over and asked how everything was- when she did come over by us it was just to bring the bill, I told her the issues with the uneaten biscuits and gravy and all I was told was that she'll tell the chef. Then when we were paying we told the girl who was checking us out and she said the same thing that she'll let the chef know. If you saw that I didn't eat any of the food because it was stale and obviously not fresh It should have been taken off, or drinks should have been given for free. Because of this we will never eat there again especially when for two of us that bill was over $40.

This was our first time at A & A. My friend and I visited for lunch. I had a gyro and she had the BLT with avocado. It might be unfair to give three stars for food since I ordered a specialty sandwich at a diner. It was okay but I definitely would not order it again. The breakfast menu however will be mine to look over next time I visit. The service was absolutely fantastic! They definitely cleaned this building up immensely since the last owners. Ella delivered outstanding service. She taught me about "potato meat" followed with a recommendation to choose the regular fries over the crisscross option. She was satisfyingly correct. The salmon entree was serviceable and utilitarian: tending to over seasoned and cooked to the point of carelessness, it flaked well, but all tenderness was dead and buried. It is nearly identical to every other salmon entree I have been served in the area. Asparagus was well seasoned, but again carelessly cooked and poorly trimmed and selected, leaving coarse stalk ends clinging to lank midsection and soft tips. Wildrice pilaf served as a solid foundation on the plate owing in large part to its clumpy and less than pillows texture. I ate all of the above and happily reminded myself of where I live. The accompanying dinner roll and 3 ozs of slaw are unnecessary on the plate. The slaw is a nice item to remind residents of our fair city that ownership understands their customer.

I was visiting a friend from out of town and this place is blocks from her house and since she had had good breakfast there in the past we went and tried for lunch. The fried cauliflower was excellent and the mushroom Swiss burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Knocked off one star because after asking for a set of utensils because our table was short one and extra napkins we ended up just stealing some utensils from an empty table and then repeating our request for extra napkins before getting them but the staff was still friendly and immediately brought the napkins after that.

If you're a Wausau local you know that this location has seen a few different names and owners over the years. Wausau Family Restaurant, Green Forest, Jenny's etc...

As someone who has eaten at each interation of this establishment I am happy to say that A&A seems to have the most robust and well thought out menu - they have it all together. Each option is made well and with care. The staff is always kind and welcoming which adds to our enjoyment.

Most recently we had country fried steak, wings, curds, burgers etc and everything was awesome. The wings were a little cold but they threw them back in the fryer for a few mins with out any issues - no one's fault.

I've been to this place once for takeout and twice for dine-in now. The service is always stellar. The food is not 'fancy' but it is homemade, fresh, and hot. I would recommend them for either breakfast or lunch, both are great. I chose A&A Restaurant because of the very favorable reviews. I am so happy I did. What a wonderful dining experience. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. I ordered chicken fried steak with hash browns and overhard eggs. Every bit was cooked to perfection. First time checking out this place and was pretty good! Was there at 12:30pm and dining was about half full. There were 2 of us and we were seated promptly. Waitress was friendly, able to answer our questions on items and checked on us several times during our meal. We ordered the fried Cheese Curds appetizer which came with a Tzatziki sauce that I had never tried. It was kind of plain and I personally would prefer ranch. The cauliflower also had a bit more breading on it than I prefer and hid the cauliflower taste.( only reason I didn't give the food a 5 star.) Each dish we've tried, from the One and Only Burger my son loved, the Hangover burger my husband raved about to the pot roast I've ordered and loved twice, to the kids' chicken tenders that left my granddaughter wanting more, has been a testament to the culinary prowess of A & A Restaurant. This was a great little place to go after a curling match since it was right down the street from the curling club! I am a Wausau native. My husband and I have been waiting for a sit down all day and evening restaurant that has a relatively varied menu, at a decent price, with really good food...I think we found it! Friday fish fry, decent breakfast menu, varied sandwiches soups and dinner choices. Our waitress was kind and on top of it. The appetizer, albeit small and a little pricey was tasty, classic beer battered onion rings just like I remember them when restaurants made them well (the kind you would find from a traditional bar menu, yum). The owners and staff are wonderful! Calm and cute atmosphere. Super clean too! Definitely try the salmon or homemade chicken soup. Best salmon I ever had!

Great breakfast. Totally revamped interior. Ham & cheddar omelet was cooked properly. Some places use cheaper ham and overcook the omelet, but this was very good. I'll be back.

Inside was nicely updated and clean. We weren't sure upon arriving if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait to be seated, but a patron told us she thought it was seat yourself, so we did. Our server was quite sweet and very quick with our food and was also quick to refill our beverages. We ordered the fried cauliflower appetizer, it was good, not from a box, but perhaps a bit too heavily breaded. The 1/2 fried chicken dinner was on special for $15 and was excellent, chicken had great flavor and was very moist. The loaded pot roast was good, on top of real potatoes, but was more mushroom than meat. Would recommend trying this place out!
