I don’t know what happened in the kitchen, but the chicken was awful. Dry, overcooked, and oddly seasoned—if you can even call it seasoning. It tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. I couldn’t finish my meal, and that says a lot. The rest of the plate didn’t help either—lukewarm rice and beans with no flavor. Really disappointed. I was expecting a decent Mexican meal and got something barely edible.

Arrived a little after 7pm on a Saturday. It was pretty dead. That should have been the first red flag. Another menu with way to many options. That was the second red flag. My husband and I decided to try the arroz con pollo. We were just going to split. I'm celiac. Across the country this is typically a safe option. It's usually rice, chicken, and queso. Why they needed to add canned enchilada sauce and canned mushrooms is beyond me. Don't let my name fool you. I'm white ASH. Like a gallon of milk. I'm from a predominantly Hispanic community. All I'm going to say, your ancestors are not proud of what you served. Cut that menu down to own page, two tops. Serve Mexican food. Tacos, sopes, gorditas, tortas are traditional. Smack me in the face with simple authentic Mexican food. I'm not sure I'd even call this Tex Mex. Be authenticly and unapologetically Mexican. It would probably triple if not quadruple your Saturday night service. Or don't. I was just passing through. If you pass through the Quad Cities in the IL or IA side, our Mexican community is proud. It shines in their food. Mexican culture and cuisine is amazing. Show people that in your area. Please.

Advertised as Authentic Mexican food but corn and flour tortillas are pre-packaged and just slightly warmed up. Carné Asada could be seasoned better for flavor. Refried beans watered down. Rice is OK. Nothing compare to what southern states offer.

If you look on Google, it says a burrito is a tortilla wrapped with filling inside. I can’t understand for the life of me why people put lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and sour cream and sauce outside of a food item that is supposed to be picked up with your hands and made portable.

I ordered two mole enchiladas and my mom got the chicken tequila dinner. I had to wait a bit longer for mine as the server put in a different dish for my order so I sent it back to get what I actually ordered. The food was delicious! I am from South Texas and now live in North Texas. The food is good except the guacamole is not fresh. It reminds me of artificial food.

Visiting from west Texas, and eating good Mexican food weekly, I was verry happy to find this restaurant. The Carne Asada was perfectly cooked and the pico and guacamole were excellent. The salsa could've used more spiciness, bur the flavor was good, with fresh onions diced into it. Absolutely would recommend to anyone wanting good, authentic Mexican food!

It was a sports bar / Diner vibe. I got the chicken mole, was tasty, but definitely not traditional as far as I could tell. My friend got the Pollo a la Diabla and we could barely tell the two apart. The cheese quesadilla I got for my 3-year-old was not good, tasted very artificial and stale, but she ate the rice. Overall 6.5/10

I've eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants and would rate this one highly for quick service, a tasty fajita, good rice and beans at lunch time. Came in after eight on a rainy Friday night. Immediately received friendly service with a smile from Paco. Real salsa made with actual tomatoes and cilantro. Refried beans with great flavor and some actual seasoning on the meats as opposed to the place across town I ate at last week. All around wonderful dining experience in Prairie du Chien that we are happy to make a part of our fall camping tradition.

This restaurant serves absolutely delicious food! Most servings are big enough for two meals (I always have something left to take home) so, you can share with someone or take home. I try a different dish every time I go there and I’ve been happy with all the choices. There are more traditional dishes as well as some not so traditional or known Mexican dishes. I had the pork carnitas tacos. The meat was so dry and tough that i couldn't eat it. My friend had the bbq cicken dinner. It came with 3 very thinly sliced pieces of chicken breast and they were so tough and overcooked that she couldn't eat hers either. The salsa, Pico and guacamole were all swimming in cilantro. When I showed my waiter my dried out meat he just shrugged it off. I had a soda and my friend had water. Our bill came to $35.00 for food we could barely eat. I don't recommend this place at all.

Finding a hair in your food is worth a $5 discount and the waiter disagreeing with you.
Corn tortillas were SOAKED in grease.
Carnitas were bland and overcooked.
Chimichanga shredded beef was good, though adding cheese was a very odd choice.

This restaurant was pretty good. The staff was very kind and the atmosphere was nice. I appreciated the fact that they offered a vegetarian chimichanga. I would have given five stars if the veggies in the chimichanga were fresh and if there was a truly vegetarian rice option. (The menu says that the rice is made with a small amount of chicken stock.)
