We were greeted with a friendly smile and a super helpful person right at the counter. No wait at all, which was a nice surprise. The restaurant has three stories, and I sat on the third floor by the window. That was definitely my favorite spot for the view. The only downside was the seating. The chairs do not have cushions, so they are not very comfortable for a long meal.

I tried the fried pickles. They came out really hot, which was fine, but there was no warning from the server. They were spears instead of chips, and the breading was not great. Overall, the food was just okay for me.

On the positive side, my bonus daughter loved her meal. She had the Juicy Lucy Burger, one of their popular choices, and she raved about it. The server we had was good, friendly, and attentive, which made the experience better.

Delicious upscale Mexican cuisine with some tasty burger options as well. They have a neat atmosphere here with the three different floors of sitting areas. By far one of the best restaurants I've been too. It wasn't until recently that I started going out to locally owned restaurants due to my limited college-life funds. I can truthfully say that this restaurant is now my favorite. I now live 30 min into Minnesota, but I have come to this restaurant several times since. Their atmosphere is so cute, there's a mix of cafe, sports bar, and typical restaurant seating for whatever you're into! Not to mention the food, to DIE for. The last couple times I've visited, my server has been the same and not great. I've sat at the bar or in the bar area and had the same girl. Both times I left feeling like I was a hassle and interrupting her social time with coworkers. I like to ask opinions on drinks and food and every time I was met with "uh, idk, its all good". We were under the impression that this was a Mexican food, however, it turned out to be a fusion of chorizo made into an egg roll, which were extremely dry. Could have used some type of sauce dipping sauce, we had nachos which were definitely microwaved. The had slices of cheese put on top of that and between layers so it was a big guppy mess, it's been did like the pulled pork in the nachos, the wings were overcooked and underwhelming. Perhaps after a late night of partying one would give this place a five star when you don't have any senses.

As a vegetarian, I used to love this place. We stopped in last night and found out that they now fry everything in beef tallow, including all side options if you order a veggie burger. They were already known for their French fries, so I am flabbergasted as to why they would make this change and take away the multiple options that vegetarians and vegans had before. We wanted to try somewhere new for lunch and decided to go to Agave Kitchen. Let me tell you - we were not disappointed. The service was great, environment was very nice, and the food was delicious. I ordered the half order of Legendary Nachos with Pork Carnitas and was very satisfied. The flavors of the entire dish complimented one another, plus the nachos had a very generous helping of carnitas. Just by the presentation of the food, I knew this dish was going to be tasty and it sure was. Agave Kitchen has a reputation in the St. Croix Valley as one of the better restaurants in terms of variety, flavor and quality. They've been a favorite of ours for the past decade, and I'm sure will continue to be a favorite for years to come. Generally, I am never disappointed with a meal there. They shine in their chimichanga, flavorful burgers and delicious (and recently updated) beef tallow fries. Recently, I decided to switch it up and ordered the chicken bacon ranch wrap. While it was fresh, it lacked flavor, especially compared to other things on their menu. So, while it's not one of their strong suits, it was still fresh and better than a comparable wrap elsewhere.
The atmosphere is a lively one, and they have fantastic drinks! Would always recommend!

WARNING, DETAILED & GRAPHIC REVIEW.

Visited Sunday September 29 with my husband.
He ordered nachos, I ordered the pork belly.
I didn't finish my pork belly app & he barely finished the nachos.

This was the last meal we had until the following day aside from drinking fluids. My husband also did not take any kind of medication on this day or the following day.
The following day after using the restroom, he noticed in his sto0l a small, white, round object floating.
Concerned, he fished it out & examined it.
It appeared to be a pill with some kind of white substance in it.

Of course he poked & prodded at it to examine it so it's misshaped now.
It's slightly smaller than a dime.

I attempted to call Agave & speak to a kitchen manager yesterday, & they were out for the day. I called again today at 1124 hours-spoke to Ali who said she'd contact me back during lunch rush. No call back yet.

Not saying anything nefarious is happening at Agave, however, whatever ended up in the nachos & then in my husband's system is questionable.

We want the restaurant to be aware that something may have contaminated the food whether accidental or hopefully not *purposefully.

Photo of questionable substance/object has been uploaded. Looks like a tooth or a corn kernel at this point after the poking & prodding.

*Paul & Chef Goss contacted us & have been actively helping in getting to the bottom of this. Thank you both for taking the time to look into this, however, I don't believe it's corn.

Update 10/3/2024:

1. Wish my husband took a photo of the object in its original state after expelling it, as he states it was round like an M&M.

2. I wish I were there with him when he handed it off to Goss, so I could take half a sample & bring it into the lab at my workplace.

3. The conclusion from Agave is that the object is corn-which, there is corn in the *sweet corn & black bean salsa in the nachos.

4. Though we failed to get photographic evidence that this object was round before my husband squished it around during his own investigation, corn is not spherical/round as he described or that firm to the touch.

I had to leave a review because this place was underwhelming and we decided on coming here because of the good reviews. Food was nowhere near as good as people say. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and it was dripping buffalo sauce the whole entire time. Also when you take a bite and sauce is spraying out onto your shirt, yeah that’s a poorly made wrap. My brother ordered the nachos and complained that they weren’t very good especially for the price $$$. Service wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either. We sat and waited for our bill for about 15 minutes before asking for it when there was only one other table being served besides us.

Colleen was a great server. We felt the ease of accommodation at some of our requests. The food choices here keep you wanting to come back and try other things. And they also have some considerably healthy options as well. I left full but not feeling fully "greased" out by an overuse of oils and fats.

Always a great expierence! I have been going here for about a decade and especially now that postmark grille is gone, Agave is amazimg. The nachoes and the burgers are amazing! They have a variety of options yet their options are all good and competitive quality and taste wise. Their chicken nachoes are some of the best i have tasted. Always a must go when i am in Hudson

On a Sunday drive, stopped at Agave Kitchen, surprised by great food. Ordered Keto-inspired dishes. Mine was Tenderloin Steak Tips. The house-made vinaigrette on the Keto Side Salad was the best! After eating, walked out to the beach at the end of the old toll-bridge pier. Awesome.

Very yummy food! Went with my dad for lunch and sat on the little overlook spot so we could see over the whole bar. Fun atmosphere. Love that they had some special dishes and drinks for February. I had the “chocolate covered strawberry” drink, and we ordered the “Mexican firecrackers” which were AMAZING!!
