What an incredible pizza I really enjoy.The chicago style deep dish. What I didn't eat.I had been boxed up and brought it home warmed it up in the oven.It was great. My fiancé and I ate here today, it was my first time. This was the best food I've had at a sit down restaurant in a while! The atmosphere is really nice and they have a pretty big menu. We got the truffle fries and the baked brushetta for appetizers, which were both amazing, and the portion sizes were really good as well. For the entrees, I had the classic fettuccine alfredo with breaded chicken, and my fiancé had their new hot honey burrata pasta with breaded chicken. Both were fantastic, with big portions as well. French onion soup was amazing, as well as their chicken noodle. Prices are similar to Olive Garden, but Ala Roma actually tastes authentic, and you get your money's worth!! We will definitely be coming back here to try more items on their menu.

I’ve been coming to Ala Roma for years and just realized I never left a review. Time to fix that!

The service here is always fantastic. Somehow, even when the place is packed, you’re seated quickly and any short wait is absolutely worth it. The servers are consistently friendly, patient, and attentive. I’ve never had an incorrect order or a meal that was anything less than incredible.

The pizza is hands down the best in the area, but Ala Roma’s greatness goes far beyond pizza. The authentic Italian dishes are irresistible. Tonight I had the Jack Tenderloin meal. Normally I hesitate to order steak anywhere outside of a steakhouse because we have all made that mistake before, but this blew me away. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had and that includes big name spots like NYY Steak in New York and Vince Lombardi’s in Appleton. This dish competes and might even take the cake.

Johnny, the owner, is also a class act. He is always making the rounds, saying hello, and ensuring everything is perfect. That kind of personal touch is rare and sets this place apart.

The salads are fantastic as well. The Greek salad is a must try.

If I could give Ala Roma 100 stars I would. This is without a doubt my favorite place to dine or take out from in all of Wisconsin.

I am giving this restaurant five stars because the food was amazing. The waitresses were wonderful. I would totally go back here again The only negative thing I would say is the water had a very chlorine taste to it even to the point where I could taste the chlorine water and the lemonade. I’m not sure if they needed their filter changed but as long as you get a drink that is in a bottle or an existing can you are good to go. But we plan on eating here again because the pizza was amazing!

In town for a little get away with my hubby and this was recommended by Craig from our VRBO...we arrived about 4:30, saw the lot was packed and were like well we will see how long the wait is.....literally got seated right away. Our wonderful waitress Taitum, was warm and welcoming, very attentive, kept checking back, gave great recommendations. We opted for the cheesey garlic bread which came with a very generous amount of marinara with meat and Alfredo sauce.....YUMMMM. Then we got the small pizzas sausage, fresh mushrooms and pepperoni...the crust was great and held its own with all the toppings...no drooping..OH MY GOODNESS......delicious. Hats off tonthe kitchen staff for cooking it up right. We only ate a couple pieces of rhe bread saving room for pizza and we stopped Netta for a box....she was very sweet and got it for us right away....Overall, great employees, food and service. Will definitely go again when we are in the area!

My husband and I went to Ala Roma yesterday for our 20th anniversary. I wanted to share a picture of my salad I received. Unfortunately I don't know how, but wanted to leave a review. It's HUGE. Normally I'm lucky to get a regular salad that's bigger than a side salad. Update :

My wife, sister-in-law and I just had lunch here ( again )...and the food, like always, was HEAVENLY. The soup ( creamy chicken and rice ) was amazing as was the main course ( build your own pasta: Tortellini Alfredo with meatballs ). I heartily recommend Ala Roma to ANYONE who's even remotely a fan of Italian food...you simply can't go wrong !

Another update :

I stopped again today for a business lunch and had the same thing that I've had on several previous occasions ( Tortellini Con Pesto minus the tomatoes and mushrooms; see the attached picture ), as it was so good. This time my review is of our waitress, Gina -- she was WONDERFUL ! She was the perfect combination of attentive but not smothering, refilling our drinks and checking back sporadically to make sure we didn't require anything else. On top of that she was very engaging and always had a smile on her face. Waitresses like her are often the difference between an unremarkable dining experience and a truly memorable one. Thank you very much for how well you treated us, Gina, as well as your attention to our needs...we REALLY appreciated it !! 😁👍

Still another update :

My wife and I stopped in a couple of days ago for dinner and I had the Baked Ziti with alfredo sauce and meatballs with chicken noodle soup. Two words: absolutely HEAVENLY ! To top it off we split a slice of Turtle cheesecake, which was totally decadent and was a wonderful end to our meal. No matter what I order from Ala Roma, it's always mouthwateringly good.

We went to Ala Roma right before peak dinner rush and got quickly seated, prompt service and a delicious meal.

We ordered the ala Roma sampler, hot honey burrata pasta, the meatball sub, and the kid's pizza.

The pasta was so good, the hot honey really made the dish for me with the spicy sweetness contrasting the soft cool burrata. The chicken was crispy and I loved the breading. The only thing I didn't think the dish needed was the garlic bread.

The meatball sub was gigantic, the meatballs were moist and flavorful, the cheese was delicious and plentiful and the sauce had a nice acidity to break through the richness.

I usually don't leave bad reviews because I manage a business and I understand how difficult it is to get a 1 star review. Buuuuut....
My boyfriend lives in the area and recommended this place because he's eaten here before. We ordered our lunch and calamari for an appetizer. We immediately tried it and it was absolutely awful!!! The calamari was rubbery, stretchy and the texture was slippery. It was literally like chewing a wet rubber band covered in goo, the texture made me gag and it smelled/tasted "off" and I almost gagged it up on the table. I didn't want to be gross in public, so I forced myself to swallow it whole. The waitress was great and talked to her supervisor about taking it off our bill. He came out to talk to us and then told us they cook it like that on purpose to kill the bacteria. My boyfriend informed him it was literally inedible and the manager just kind of shrugged it off and we weren't sure if he actually took it off the bill, til the bill came. They did take it off the bill. About 4 hours later I became super ill at home with stomach issues. I'm not 100% sure if it was from the food or not. But I will never eat here again and it will be a long time before I have calamari again.

I have lived in the area for around 5 years. I’ve visited multiple times. Probably 10-20 times. In all the times visited I would say I’ve had a complete good experience like twice. Food is normally alright but most the times the service just isn’t there. If the service is good there is usually something with the food. It’s really hard to get both great service and good food.

I really want to like this place. As it is local and I’m a strong believer in supporting local. I understand people have off days, and every cook, cooks a little differently but I just don’t understand how one place is so much of a miss.

Love this place! Never had a bad meal there. Went on tonight to celebrate my birthday. Kianna was our waitress. Attentive, friendly, always made sure we had what we needed. Super happy with my experience!

Ala Roma never disappoints. I've never had a bad experience, and the food is always the best around. French onion soup is really good and so is the Greek salad. Big portions also. Definitely recommend if you're in the area
