My husband ordered the walleye and I ordered the poor man’s lobster - which came with a relish tray and dinner rolls. Both meals were absolutely delicious (especially the poor man’s lobster)! Brandi was our bartender and was very personable and attentive. For two meals and five drinks, our bill came out to $59 which I think was very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. We went around 7:00 on a Friday and were able to enjoy a couple drinks and dinner and the wait for our food was probably only about 30 minutes (just enough time to have one drink before our food arrived). We’re already looking forward to visiting again!

This is the third time I've had the prime rib and it was so tough all three times and does not even look like prime rib. I was told the surf and turf was Poor Man's Lobster and I ended up getting four pieces of shrimp the shrimp was okay the prime rib did not have much for flavor and again was very tough

We ordered a bacon California burger and a jalapeño burger , both with fries- on a Sunday evening..
We got home, the fries were under cooked, and no seasoning, the bcb was thrown together- the tomatoes and onions looked like a 5 year old cut them, and 2 slices of bacon...
The cheese on the jalapeño burger was not even melted!

I enjoyed the food, but the service felt impersonal and rushed. The quick table turnover made it difficult to relax and savor the meal. Additionally, when I ordered a beverage halfway through my entree, it arrived very late, right before I finished. For a restaurant of this caliber (and price point), I would expect a more attentive dining experience.
For example, when I ordered a beer halfway through my meal, it arrived right before I finished. It seemed they expected me to finish my drink quickly to free up the table. It would have been nice to enjoy the entire beverage with my meal.

We just got done eating at Albertville Tavern. We were here many years ago... we thought we would give it another try. Let's just say we will not be back. We waited 20 minutes just to get water and a menu.
After we ordered it took 45 minutes to get our food. My husband got a hamburger and I got a one-piece fish dinner. Not to mention when we got our food that it was not that great. When I mentioned how long it took to our waitress she was not very friendly and not very apologetic for the long wait. Then she turned around and walked away and another waitress finished taking care of us. It's safe to say that we will not be back again, or recommend this place to anyone else.

First time here and tried there fish fry, I highly recommend reservations as it is a small establishment and they are very busy.
Food portions were decent, they have three options for fish fry, either 5 pieces for 14.95, 3 pieces and popcorn shrimp for 14.95 or poor mans lobster for 16.95. I wish there were smaller options of fish available but having the option for shrimp was nice.
Servers were very nice, however it took them a while to take our initial order and then quite a while for our food. This is not a place to expect to “get in and out” real fast, expect for there to be a bit of a wait.
Overall, the atmosphere is fun and you can tell there is a lot of history in the building.
I would definitely go back and try other items on the menu.

This is a difficult review to write, because I don’t WANT you to go to Albertville Tavern.

This place is amazing. The people are awesome, the food is excellent, and the drinks are alcoholic. I don’t need you coming along with your screamy kids, sweary family, and annoyingly too-loud laugh, and ruin it for me.

However, my Therapist tells me I need to practice being a better human, so I’ll tell you about the Tavern if you promise NEVER to come here.

First, the people are lovely. Truly friendly - and not in that fake, ‘oh no, I’m genuinely interested in what you did at work today. PLEASE, tell me more about the copier jamming.’ kind of way that a lot of other Restaurants are. They’re all genuine and wonderful to talk with. Oh, and they’re quick to serve tables. I saw a few (older) reviews on here that were like - ‘we went when it was busy, and it took longer to get our food’. I presume these are the same kind of people that complain about all the other people getting in their way at Disneyworld, and ruining their trip. Yep, if it’s busy, sometimes it takes a little longer. But it’s worth it.

I presume those people are complaining because, with an attitude like that, they don’t know what it’s like to be popular.

In short, don’t go to a place because it’s a hidden gem and complain when other people went to the same hidden gem.

Even shorter, and to my previous point, just don’t go to Albertville Tavern.

Second, the food is amazing. I personally love the Poor Man’s Lobster. (So don’t order that when you don’t go, to leave more for me). My wife enjoys the Cheesy Tots. My parents loved the Pork and Dumplings, and said it was the best pork they’d EVER eaten - and you need to appreciate just how old they are. They’ve had time to eat A LOT of different food through their life, and have VERY high expectations. I say that as their son, who has regularly made them lower those expectations.

My point is - the food’s great. I truly haven’t tried anything there that disappoints.

So please, PLEASE, listen to me when I say this is a great place to eat.

Do NOT go there.

If you need any more incentive not to go - When you arrive, I may be there. I’ll be the one with the screaming kids, swearing family, laughing too loud, and enjoying the best Poor Man’s Lobster known to man.

I can’t wait to not see you there.

Nice atmosphere and good service. Fish fry wasn't what I would call a great Wisconsin fish fry. The fish was pale white batter and tasteless. No seasoning and strange looking from other fish fries we have been to. Had the popcorn shrimp and it was really tasty. Will not be back for the fish but maybe a Bloody Mary and a burger.

Supper club-like for relishes, rolls, crackers and fixings ahead of delicious walleye. Radishes were mild! Could have had another parttime wait staff (Saturday dinner) to help with tables, as my table wasn't checked on after getting food and some water and extra (previously requested) tartar sauce were wanted. Friends have been talking up this place for for several months now. Was looking forward to the shrimp and prime rib. We had reservations for 6p. We were seated right away. Our food did not arrive at 735p. Burgers, fried shrimp and one prime rib which was ordered ahead of time. There was one server for the entire tavern. It was not a great night for the tavern. Food was late and mostly cold. Server was pleasant but slow with drinks, food, etc. Our group will not cause a fuss but there was not apology for the poor experience tonight. I can't see myself returning or recommending this place to others.

We went here with my family off a recommendation, specifically, for their fish fry and it was great, an overall delightful experience. Abby was our server and she did an excellent job, she was kind, patient, knowledgeable and fast- just really good at her job. She and the other girls/servers were so friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in until we walked out the door. Food was great, lots of side options, large portions, and not alot of money! We will definatly be back again. I dont write reviews, but this was such a refreshing experience, I am happy to write about good people doing a good job.

Went for lunch ordered tap beer and it tasted weird, wasn't the kind we ordered. Bartender claimed it was fine but replaced it with bottled beer. Mixed drink tasted funny also, might be residue from washing glasses? Noticed one other customer had tap beer and they complained about it also of not tasting right. No specials for the day so ordered burgers no flavor to them, dry buns, they came with chips which were bagged chips. Those were the best thing we had. Haven't been there in years and won't be going back.

The food was ok. The prices have gone up since it was sold. The service was pretty bad. It was 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. After our drink order it was 10 minutes before we got our beers. They had someone who seemed to be a busboy take our order. It took about 40 minutes to get our food and then we didn't get our bread basket or sides. Only the steaks we ordered. No one ever came back after serving our food. We had to find someone to get our bill. It was really disappointing that the service was bad. I really liked this place before.
