Junior is a chef. The man can cook. A Mexican bar and grill? No! Italian food, a pizza, burger, fish fry—you name it—it’s all great.

Of course you need to start with a house margarita. Well mixed and balanced. This is the first time I had a hamburger and onion rings there. Well cooked and seasoned patty. Choose all the toppings or a few!

The perfect meal while watching a Brewer game and socializing with patrons and the hard working, yet friendly and casual staff.

Support local and enjoy the new offerings that pop up off menu. Can’t recommend this place enough—and I don’t give out five stars very often!!

I live in Madison, but my girlfriend lives in Watertown. She's taken me to most of the restaurants in town and I can't believe this wasn't on the top of the list (She'd nvr been here either)

By far the best restaurant in town!!! Not only is the food excellent, the service is as well. I started in the restraunt business 34 years ago, so I know a little something about the business lol

Had such a nice stop for lunch and met the owners who are so friendly, made us laugh and recommended the stuffed shrimp it was was so amazing I have been back know several times because I can’t get it out of my head! We spilt enchiladas which were also so delicious, along with the refried beans, chips and salsa excellent but another surprise was the key lime pie!!! I thought I was in key west, hands down the best I honestly have ever had . Margaritas were perfect with many options of tequila. Good to know they also cater and have great Italian food as well. Worth the trip and I love the family owned tradition and pride you feel. The vintage bar is also a nice touch.

Highly recommended! I had the seafood enchiladas (cream cheese sauce is amazing) and the wife had the shrimp and pineapple taco special. All was perfect. Margaritas were the best in town. Adorable spot with great food and excellent service. The women attending our table was the wife of the chef. All food is freshly made therefore you can ask if modifications can be made. We had the tortilla soup and the pork plate special with an extra side of beans for the baby. Everything was delicious and very well seasoned. Table & bar seating available. There were a few steps to get into the restaurant. Beautiful spot with friendly staff. Free street parking. We went for a walk after dinner. Cute small town with beautiful houses and buildings to admire.

The Wings and Philly Steak we had were great! The Mexican dishes… not so great. Awful Old Fashion. Had a muddled chunk of grapefruit in it could hardly choke it down. The cherry mule was good. All servers were great and worked together on a busy night.

My son and I visited Amado Jr's for lunch today and were pleasantly surprised. When we entered we were greeted by Kim. Kim and her husband are the owners. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. She made sure we had plenty of chips, salsa and drinks were always full. Our food arrived quite quickly and it was delicious. Kim checked in on us and let us know that the food is prepared for each visitor and if we would like any changes for our individual plates, they would be happy to do them in the future. We will definitely be back and bring friends.

I would give it a 10⭐️if available. Since moving to WI we haven’t found a good Mexican (Margarita ) joint until tonight. .
Like true WI restaurants don’t let the outside fool you. In GA if if was small the food wasn’t good. For me it’s all about the Margaritas.
It’s a small family restaurant.
We were greated by a friendly voice “To sit wherever we wanted”.
They even changed the station so we could watch GA vs Auburn.
The wife greets everyone that I saw and gives the daily specials and always ask new faces “where are you from” People just don’t do that anymore in ATL and it was so nice. She thanked us for traveling from Oconomowoc to Watertown to visit. Again the genuineness of this was amazing.

The sour cream enchiladas melted in your mouth.
Cheese Dip and Salsa homemade so yummy!
My husband had the Nachos and it was the first time (in over 10 years) he could not finish his plate.
I never cared for the food at my old Mexican restaurant, it was the drinks and the vibe.
But what I received tonight a perfect margarita- the food I took home for leftovers and I never do!
The husband came and spoke after we ate. I raved about the food. Who knew you could get a good drink and great food-that’s a first!
He was so thankful. Like genuinely thankful. He told us how they started out and a quick snip it of his life story.
I was just honored.
It’s a humble establishment everyone should try out.
We will be loyal customers!

I went here for dinner on 9/22/23 with a friend. We had a great meal! The staff is genuinely friendly. We waited for a table at the bar. The owner took great care of us while we waited a few minutes for our table. The waitress was very knowledgeable, reciting 5 evening specials. My friend ordered the fish fry and I ordered chicken fajitas. Both of us were very pleased! The fajitas were the best I've ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly- juicy, and not all dried out. The portions were generous. My friend said his fish fry was great. The waitress was careful to replace my drink; no charge for soda refills. She didn't push us out the door either or drop a check and refuse to refill our drinks like a lot of other places do. My friend had a question about his bill, but the waitress handled it in a very friendly way. The prices are very fair for the quality and quantity of food. Everything was very clean, too. The owner and her husband both thanked us for visiting as we left. I highly recommend Amado's; they do not disappoint!

I do not remember the last time we’ve felt so welcome at a restaurant and we eat out a lot. From the time I called to make reservations to the time we arrived they were so friendly and accommodating. We were welcomed at the door and the hostess showed us our table and made sure it worked for us (which is beyond expectations for a group of 8). The waitress and bus staff were so friendly and attentive. The owner came over and introduced herself, made sure everything was to our liking and told us some history about the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious can’t say enough good things about this establishment. Can’t wait to go back!

I don't care how good the food is if the people working there are rude. I was attending the 4th of July parade and my 4 yr old and I were sitting on the stoop near their door. Me sitting in front of a brick wall and her on my right, by an apartment door. We were not preventing anyone from entering or exiting or blocking their flow of traffic in or out. When we sat, we were told by a lady right away not to block their door, I told her of course, I understand and I made sure we weren't. A minute later an older man came out and was extremely rude, stating we needed to get off the step and move away from their door because it was private property. Totally unnecessary and could've been handled completely different especially in front of my 4 yr old. This is also a packed sidewalk so right after we moved, a large group stood right where we had been and no one said a word to them. We had planned on meeting some friends later on there for a bite to eat but after our experience we definitely won't ever be visiting.

What a Hidden Gem!! I Loved it! I didn't know what to expect. I have lived in Watertown for years and had never eaten here. I have been missing out. It's very small place on Main St. not much seating a two high tables by the window and I think like four or five regular tables across from the bar. The service was ok friendly but left a little to be desired. Didn't want to keep her at the table long with any questions because they were busy. When we left around 6:30pm it was pretty full. We had the fish dinner with fries, coleslaw and marble rye and the Spanish Cod with a salad. With a rum & coke and strawberry margarita.

In my personal opinion. For Watertown area this is the best tasting for Mexican food. I absolutely enjoyed my dinner. My kids also enjoyed there food. It is nice not having to travel 1 hour now to get decent mexican food. The Staff was very friendly and attentive as well. I do not give reviews unless it is a very good experience or very bad. Watertown is really fortunate to have been chosen as the adoptive home for Amado and Mary.
