Sorry to say, but I have been to many Applebee's and this is the worst. I decided to sit at the bar. Girls were talking, so it took around 5 mins until I got a beer. I ordered an oriental salad, it took 20 minutes. The place wasn't crowded, how long does it take to make a salad? Also, no other Applebee's has dumpling sauce on this salad, yuck. I didn't see it on the menu, but didn't know until I got home, because I decided to get it to go since it took so long. This was the 2nd time I tried this place. I'm out! Plenty of other restaurants to review.

Update 8/2025: It got worse, we waited for 20 minutes in a corner booth with 5 people, nobody acknowledged us, every waitress that walked by wouldn’t even make eye contact with us and the bathroom had two empty paper towel dispensers, makes me question if employees are even washing their hands. We literally walked out and went to Azul instead.

There’s so much I could say but I’ll save my time. Go to the Menomonie Applebee’s instead.

My wife and I ate at Applebee's tonight for the first time in about a decade. Here are some of our impressions:
Eau Claire’s Applebee’s is a living scrapbook of Midwestern longing. The décor is a collision of dusty sports memorabilia and earnest faux-Tiffany lamps, each piece clinging to the walls precariously like a child clutching a security blanket. The table was sticky. Not entirely gross, just... It gripped our forearms in a tender, almost possessive way. The seats have a gentle give, like they’re holding the ghosts of appetizers past. The table tents, flimsy but proud, stand guard over summery sugary drink specials yearning to be shaken, not stirred, and then poured. The food was fine. It was Applebee’s food. It did its job without asking for applause or Michelin stars.
But Xavier!
Our server Xavier moved through the dining room like he owned both the restaurant and your heart. He brought refills before the glass thought to be empty, seemed to remember what we ordered without writing it down, and laughed in a way that made the neon beer signs seem romantically hazy. If Eau Claire’s Applebee’s is a snow globe of mediocre American dining, Xavier is the hand that shakes it, making the whole thing sparkle. Five stars. For him, and for the sticky little French fried dream we briefly lived in.

We entered Applebees after the St Joe Goats played the Eau Claire Axeman, wonderful and exciting game. Our waitress name Rose did a fantastic job from there time we were seated, the manager came around and topped it off with top notch management skills with making sure our order was taken, since something on our order was not prepared by staff in the kitchen, the manager substituted with a delicious dessert. We will be back real soon.

Went out last night for the first time at this location. When we got seated we were seated at a sticky table. When our server came to get drink orders we told him our table was sticky and we moved to the table next to us that was also sticky. Looking at our menus flipping through there was gum or something gum like stuck to the pages. My spouse ordered the all you can eat chicken tenders and i ordered an appetizer as i wasn’t very hungry. they brought him 4 chicken tenders smaller than DQ when we ordered more we only got 2 and had to wait how long. when we got boxes to go we sat there with our boxes for over 15 min waiting for the bill. (only maybe 5 tables including us) then our bill was wrong and not right at all but at that point we had just decided it wasn’t worth the headache anymore and left. unfortunately this location is terrible and we won’t be back.

Just awful service bar tender profiled my cousin as being underage when her ID clearly showed her age, the manager attempted to make the situation better but also said her ID looked “fake” but they would still serve her but was completely rude about it said well do u want the drink or not when she was just over even having a drink due to the big deal they were making it. Took four kids here and none of them would eat the pizza. You know it's a bad pizza when not one kid would eat it. Look at that sponge, clearly it came frozen. Also, they got the wrong sauce on chicken tenders for another kid. No need to bring me some barbecue sauce when the ranch was already spilled on them when you brought it to the table. Finally, only orange crayons for the kids menus? Just go to Cowboy Jacks where food is made fresh and as ordered, and kids can have more than one color to entertain themselves on the kids menu.

This location is disgusting. There is so much trash and dirt between the crevices of the seats. Felt disgusting sitting and eating here. The large booth’s seat cushions are destroyed and clearly need to be replaced. When you sit on the edge of one of the seats you fall into the seat. The food and service was fine, but the neglect for the restaurant’s physical environment ruined the trip.

Update to another visit:
My daughter really wanted to come here for lunch. We arrived at about 12:10 at the latest. Our food did not arrive until after 1:00. People seated after us got their food before we did. When I got my chicken tender platter, I could not even believe the size of the tenders. I can get better tenders from Walmart. She did offer us dessert on the house when we finished eating, but I didn’t want to be stuck waiting another 45min for it.
We watched two couples come in and wait to be greeted and no one ever said anything to them before they decided to walk out. The waitstaff looked at them but never acknowledged them or told them someone would be with them soon.
I imagine this will be our last time here.

1st visit:
It wasn’t terribly busy when we arrived. We were seated right away. It took our waitress over 15 minutes to even greet us and take our drink order, which by that time we already knew what we wanted to eat. Our drinks didn’t arrive until after our appetizer. Which it was just lemonade, so it wasn’t like we needed to wait for a bartender to make the drinks.
The mozzarella sticks were barely warm. I got the quesadilla burger and the burger was broken up inside the quesadilla and like they just hoped the cheese would hold it together. The Alfredo had very little sauce.
An incredibly disappointing visit. And I know we weren’t the only ones who felt that way. The table next to us ordered a drink to have with their meal and it wasn’t brought to their table until they had already eaten their food. The eye roll from the bartender when she walked away after she dropped it off was pretty uncalled for.

Finally had my last visit. We went out to Celebrate my mother in laws birthday and my food and my partners food was horrifically overcooked. They did comp my meal and two my partner food, but took her sides and didn't place them in the to go box. Arrived and got seated pretty quickly. Waited at the table we were seated at for 20 minutes no server, no manager, no one came up to us and asked us what we wanted to drink. I went up to the bar the first time to get drinks which also took 5 minutes of wait time for someone to be at the bar to get our drinks. We finally received our food, my fries were cold, the orders were incomplete. We finished our drinks, our waitress Cassie took plates and didn’t say a word to us or slow down to check on us which made me have to go up to the bar a second time to get drinks. We then finally got our bill which took another 10 minutes. The manager delivered the drinks both times I went up to the bar, and apologized several times but that did not improve our experience. If you are in a rush, I do not recommend.

I know the manager here, and I really wanted to give Applebee's a great review! Sadly, I can't. I like to order delivery from here and it rarely comes correct. The past three times I've ordered there have been significant errors in the order. The first time i ordered a salad and they forgot the dressing and the chicken. The second time I ordered they forgot the extra dressing that I paid for and the breadsticks. Last night they forgot to send the three drinks that I ordered. No one in the restaurant. Bar was insanely dirty. Bartender had several dirty glasses sitting around while 2 servers and the bartender were sitting around eating. Behind the bar was also atrocious. The blender was on its last leg as the bartender had to blend a drink 5 different times. Garbage overflowing. Employee drinks sitting everywhere. Nothing was wiped off. Ordered the new Chicken skillet. Looked like something a 6 year old made. Looked absolutely nothing like the picture. Chicken had burnt scrapings from the grill. No color. No sear. Just white as a ghost with crusty black flakes. Drowning in the bourbon sauce. No bacon as it states in the description. Not even green garnish to cover up the abomination. Waffles fries that came with it, were freezer burnt and were burnt to the cast iron skillet.

Haven't been here in a long time and I should have trusted my gut to not stop in. Don't waste your time.

So, I don’t normally leave reviews. My sister and I got the shrimp bourbon chicken with the garlic mash potatoes. We are not big on the shrimp so we asked to have it taken off. I asked if we could substitute broccoli for the shrimp, thinking it would be cheaper then the shrimp anyway so no big deal right?
The manager comes out here and explains to me, “ to make me happy that he is willing to do that just apple bees don’t do that.”
I’ve been to plenty of other restaurants that do that no problem. The way he was talking to me, it just made me feel uncomfortable and made it awkward.
The food was good, and the waitress was good.
If it wasn’t for the fact that my sister and I had been traveling all day and were tired, I actually would have just walked out.

We also didn't ask for it yet. So that was frustrating. The whole time we were there, we were being rushed. We didn't go right before they closed. We went several hours before that. The waitress kept coming over by us and staring at us. It was uncomfortable. The whole experience was frustrating, and we won't be going back. The manager across the dining area said very loudly, "Let's get these tables out as soon as possible." I was like, why are you guys so worried about getting people in and out? This was the worst experience ever. 😕

When we showed up it took a long while for our server to show to ask about drinks. Then when she did come we were going to order drinks and an appetizer but before I could say anything she left.
After we got our appetizer we didn't get plates and she didn't ask if we want plates till we were done.
After we got our food she dropped the plates at the table and practically ran off before I could ask for napkins because I had to use mine for a plate. There were only 4 tables in the whole place.
After we got the bill had to wait for any server to even come out to ask for a pen so we could leave.

5 old fishermen in at just after opening hours on the way north. Greeted and seated with questions of how we were and where we were headed. Waitress very cordial and accommodating took orders and drinks. The manager was interested where we were from and going. Everyone very friendly and attentive.. Very good job to all involved.

A total disappointment ! I honestly can't believe my visit here tonight. The server takes my order and brings me my drink, a Mojito. I tell her that this is not a Mojito, there's no mint in it. She says, "we don't have mint leaves", do you still want it ? I think the time to ask that is before you serve it. Then she brought the food, another disappointment. Had the Bourbon Street steak. The flavor was just ok, presentation was poor. She brings me a water and as soon as I finished eating she asked if she could bring me the bill. Still sipping water a messing on my phone she asks if she could take my payment now. Felt very rushed, very dissatisfied. My wife and I came here often when we lived in Eau Claire many years ago but will never be back here again after the way I was treated ! Being a good sport, I did leave a $1.00 tip, but not the 20 to 30 percent I would normally leave.

The table we were sat at was sticky. The chicken wonton tacos were not made correctly. We've never had such flavorless and burnt wonton tacos. The beer pub pretzels were OK, but the cheese cup wasn't even half full when it was served. The service was friendly. We were just so disappointed by the food because we're used to better quality food at other Applebee's.

Our server took our drink and appetizer order, and brought our drinks. It was 15-20 minutes and our appetizer and meal showed up at the same time. It made it difficult to enjoy the appetizer. The appetizer and food were excellent.

Absolutely loved this place! Everyone was friendly and happy. The service was excellent. We didn't wait long for our drinks or food. The food came out hot and tasted great. The waitress stopped by to check on us a few times, always polite and smiling. After a long drive it was a nice place to sit and enjoy. The Fiesta Lime Chicken was a new one for me and I loved it! The basket Waffle fries and onion rings were done just right; not too crunchy or soggy etc.

My husband went here for a date night and we couldn't be happier! We did the all you can eat and we both had the ribs, chicken and shrimp. All 4 plates that we had was cooked to perfection! We couldn't have asked for a better waitress (sadly we forget her name but it started with an A I think), but she was a joy and answered our questions and did her best to make sure we were happy. Even joked with us and we all couldn't stop laughing. I'd give it a 10/10 if I could
