Here on Sunday September 28th, 2025. Place was not busy at all. Took over 30 minutes to get one appetizer tray. Our food took over an hour. We were a group of only three. I had the "fall off the bone" ribs. Toughest ribs I've ever had. Could not bite through them, needed to use a steak knife. Server didn't even come around enough to ask for a better dish. Went into men's bathroom after trying to eat. Would rather have gone to an outhouse. Trash everywhere, dirty sinks, no paper towels anywhere. Worst of all both toilet stalls overflowing. I used to love coming to this location with my wife. Not anymore. $22 dollars for a rib meal I wouldn't pay $5 for, and bathroom so gross you don't want to use it. If you're so short staffed that you need to provide under average food and filthy facilities, then maybe you should adjust your prices accordingly. I will not recommend what this Applebee's restaurant has become.

I wish I could give less. I have been a vegetarian for over 8 years now. I clearly ordered an Impossible burger and was served regular meat. I was having a discussion with my husband and there was so much cheese on the burger I took a bite. I ended up throwing up in the bathroom and was sick to my stomach for the rest of the day. That experience was not only physically unpleasant but broke a 8 year vow for my life change.
So if you are an alternative water NEVER eat here!

Dined Applebee's earlier this week and had such a dissatisfactory experience that I may not ever go to an Applebee's again. Came in as a solo diner was seated in a big Booth close to the bathrooms right next to a large table of people. I dealt with that however, please be aware that most solo diners want to be alone which is why they came to the restaurant alone to enjoy their meal peacefully after a Hard day's work. I ordered a drink and the trio appetizer and informed the waitress that I would be ordering a meal to take back to my hotel to enjoy peacefully. My order was very simple as it was the chicken and shrimp with garlic butter sauce that came with mashed potatoes, mushrooms and onions. I ordered a vegetable as an extra side. When my food came there was no potatoes or sauce. I informed the waitress I still had wanted the potatoes I had just wanted vegetables also, I figured the sauce would show up when she brought the potatoes. She argued with me first that I had wanted the vegetables in place of the potatoes which I instructed her at the time of ordering that I wasn't replacing the potatoes. I then had to wait for the potatoes to come out still without any of the sauce that comes on the dish. I told the server there was no sauce and opened the lid to the dish to show it to her and she argued with me again that there was sauce. She then has the manager come over to my table, a tall skinny brunette who brings a side cup of sauce and explains to me that this is the amount that comes in the dish like I was lying just to get extra sauce. The manager is being snotty and rude to me and asking me what she needs to do to make it right. I said just bring me extra sauce and had my credit card ready to please pay the bill so that I can go because I should have been gone 15 to 20 minutes ago. At this point I'm getting upset because although I understand making mistakes, to argue with the customer and then send the manager over who wants to argue with me and treat me like I'm the problem shows such a lack of understanding about customer service to begin with. I have done their job and know how it should be done correctly. As a single diner I spent $40 on one meal. My work sends me to this area frequently and Applebee's was going to be one of my regular places to ensure I had meals for the week while I was working. I guess I will find other places that value my hard-earned money and me being a customer paying their paycheck and tips from now on. They not only ruined my meal, my entire evening and my entire week because I continue to be upset at such rude behavior and as much as I hate the review culture since I grew up at a time where we just did a good job to do a good job I am now having to take my time out to leave this review. If the manager wants to know how to make it right she would have to go back in time and properly trained her servers and her cook to know the menu and then not to argue with the customer when they get it wrong. Since she is probably not capable of going back in time perhaps going forward they can learn from this experience so no one else has to go through this. They embarrassed me in front of the entire restaurant like I was causing trouble. This is what is wrong with our society today. People lying and covering their own butts when they are wrong instead of taking accountability and fixing their own screw-ups.

My food had several clumps of hair in it and my boyfriend’s food was very overcooked. We had to ask several times for a simple side of ranch. The hostess was rude and although the manager did comp my food immediately there was an attitude when the server heard. Absolutely disgusting.

I recently went to Applebee's. I have not been here in a while. We were immediately seated and greeted upon entering the restaurant. The food was reasonably priced and in line with their competitors' prices. Our waiter, Caesar, was excellent, kept our drinks full, and gave us updates on the time estimate of our food. He was very informative on the menu and entrees. He gave us his recommendations when asked and was very kind and friendly. The food was delicious and we really loved the breadsticks. We ordered sandwiches, onion rings, and breadsticks. My only complaint is that at 4 pm, the restaurant was out of mayonnaise. I asked for a side of mayo, but was informed they were out. I saw an adjacent table order mozzarella sticks that looked amazing. We chose between breadsticks and mozzarella sticks, which were terrific, but we wished we had tried the cheese sticks. We had a good time and enjoyed watching sports on the big screens while not talking to each other.

Went on a Sunday for my oldest kid’s 16th birthday, told him he could order whatever he wanted. They had no honey bbq for wings and no mozzarella sticks (even though we heard the bartender ask someone sat at the bar how their mozz sticks were). Food was so widely subpar, their ads and pics on this menus are nowhere near what is actually delivered. $70 for four people and nobody loved their food. We came in for lunch and were extremely disappointed. The atmosphere desperately needs a refresh and the service needs to drastically improve.
We walked in and waited a couple of minutes to be seated. The woman seating us asked if we wanted a table or booth, we said booth. She took us all the way around to the booths in the back near the bathrooms. As we were walking by, every single table had dirty dishes on them, and at this time there was only one table occupied. We sat down and the server, Tanner, greeted us right away and took our drink order. The drinks came a couple of minutes later and we told him we needed just a couple more minutes to look at the menu. That couple of minutes turned into 20 minutes before Tanner came back, as it seemed he was the only worker actually working (not his fault). During this time, more customers came in, probably 4 or 5 tables worth. The GM (I'm assuming) was standing around observing the workers instead of jumping in and helping clear tables or assisting in any way. We didn't order any entrees like we had planned, we finished our drinks, paid, and left. This is the second unpleasant experience at this location and this is only the second time we've visited here in 2 years... yikes.

Absolutely terrible. My drink had no flavor i asked for more, waitress got offened then never returned to our table. Waited an hour asked other servers for assistance they didnt help said they'd ask our server then she still never came, we never got food and finally just got up and left. This just happened, they weren't busy, and Noone tried to help or serve us.

Immediately upon entering the restaurant, a strong disgusting odor was recognizable! It smelled like dirty, musty, wet carpet!! It was overpowering! To the naked eye, the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years!!! When walking on it, my shoes would stick!! The lighting in this restaurant is dim. I truly believe it is dimmed so that the filthy carpet isn't noticed! Lets talk about our booth. Our booth seats had large rips held together by tape. I noticed several other booths in the same condition. The women's restroom was disgusting!!! I've seen gas station restrooms in better condition!

I've been to many Applebee's throughout the country and this Applebee's in Onalaska is by far the worse! To whoever owns this dump, you need to get a grip on your management and staff because it's clear that no one cares about this restaurant! We will NOT be back due to the lack of cleanliness. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like!!!

Had a terrible server, checked on us a total of 3 times. Once to take orders, once to bring food, once to bring check.

Food was the absolute bottom of the barrel. I ordered bourbon Street steak medium. It came out so well done it had a quarter inch crunchy char, I've had beef jerky less dehydrated. The loaded mashed potatoes were actually cold. Wife ordered the endless shrimp. The first dish came out and the shrimp was luke warm. We paid, and went to McDonald's after the meal was so poor.

Went with a friend for lunch. It was 12:30 but we were not given a lunch menu? Do they have anymore? I had soup, salad and breadstick. Their french onion soup is the best!

When we were done eating I went to the bathroom and my shoes stuck to the carpet all the way there. I think the carpet is supposed to be red but it is almost black. When I was about 10 feet from the bathroom there was a strong smell of urine.

With that being said I would hate to see the kitchen. Yikes! They have really gone down hill since I was there last.

I felt the lighting was darker and easy on the eyes. The vibe of the room was very relaxing and not too loud for a Friday night. A had a get together after work with very attentive service. We were seated quickly. The kids menu is easy for them to select from lots of options. There was a lot to choose from in the menu. I ordered a ribeye steak, which was very good quality and cooked pefectly. The steamed broccoli and mashed potato sides were also very good, as were our drinks (iced tea and kiddie cocktail). The prices are quite reasonable. They have a TouchTunes jukebox, and I am pretty sure you can pick and play songs using the TouchTunes app, but I did not attempt. This is one of my families favorite places to eat. I ate here on 11.16.24. I tried to use my birthday email for free dessert. We have given this Applebees 2 chances. Today being the 2nd. The first visit we show up and are told they had no kitchen staff so we could come in and have a drink but it would be over an hour for staff to show up.
Today was visit 2. We showed up and waited 5 minutes for a hostess to even acknowledge us. We went and sat down and ordered our food and drinks. Our waitress never once refilled our drinks. We waited over an hour for 2 entrees. (1 burger and 1 Tex mex bowl). When the food arrived, the burger was only half a patty, the other side looked like it had fallen off somewhere. When I asked the waitress if half the burger fell off somewhere her response was “probably”. It was also missing the bacon. She said she would get it taken care of. After waiting an additional 15 minutes I decided to tell her I didn’t need the burger (since the other person had finished their food) and asked her to remove it from the check and to bring us the check. We had to wait an additional 25 minutes for the check so we could get out of there. Other tables around us were experiencing the same type of service and complaining and the response everyone was getting was that the kitchen staff was falling apart. We will never visit this Applebees again.

Very poor quality food, we went to other restaurants in the area and paid less to get better food. No taste to the food and pretty sure half of it was undercooked. The fries were pale and tasteless, the fried shrimp was soggy and tasted like fish sticks. We paid almost 80 bux for crappy cafeteria food we could have bought at Walmart in the frozen food section. My family and I recently visited for a casual dinner, and we were honestly surprised by the experience given Applebees reputation. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a family outing. My partner and I ordered the classic burgers, chicken tenders, and a side of mozzarella sticks. The burgers were juicy and well-seasoned, though the buns seemed to be an older batch as they were a little too dry. The chicken tenders were crispy, just as we hoped, and the mozzarella sticks were a hit with the kids; cheesy and gooey. There was a severed head in the third stall of the men’s bathroom. While the food wasn’t extraordinary, it was good enough and offered really good value given the price. The service was friendly and quick, making sure we had everything we needed. Big thanks to Emma’s sweet soul. Overall, we were provided a solid family dinner and we’d love to return for a quick and easy meal.

We sampled three separate appetizers the pretzel bites, mozzarella sticks and cheesy bites the appetizers being the best part of the meal…my chicken tenders tasted burned, the Mac and cheese was watery with very little flavor. My partners chicken was bland and dried out tasting along with the Spanish rice it was served with… Our server Lacy was pretty attentive, and accommodating. Maybe the kitchen was just having an off day…not sure, but probably be awhile before we try again…

The food was obviously canned ( the mushrooms) and the steak was cold and the cheese sauce on top was lumpy and disgusting. Asked to see a manager who couldn't tell what it was either. He had it reheated which then took the steak from medium rare to well done. Never to return. No discount.The server named Dave was excellent and we left a nice tip. He was the only part of the experience that was decent. Avoid at all cost and save your money.

Food was ok not the best. Waitress showed a "do not care attitude" and was unwilling to bend her rules. We were waiting for a friend to join us and were intending to order the 2 for $28 option. She refused to bring out the appetizer portion unless we ordered the entire order. We did not want our order before our friend got there. She did nothing more than what she had to. Very poor service

Food was amazing! Service, impeccable! Oh, and the atmosphere! It was so welcoming! I really enjoyed the severed head in the 4th stall of the men's restroom! Don't even get me started on the head! I took at least a dozen photos! Androgynous in nature, I couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman's due to the rotting! I couldn't make out any features either, and each time I looked back to it, it seemed a little different from before! Its form seems to differ between each viewing of it through the pictures I took!

Jamie, our waitress was fantastic.
The food tasted okay but it was very greasy. I didn't feel good for the rest of the day and woke up around 11pm with severe stomach issues and diarrhea. I called in sick because I was in the restroom for over two hours and I work with food myself. (And I am not one to miss work.)
The grossest part of this experience is when I went to the restroom at the restaurant, I noticed the floor/carpeting was soaking wet. It looked as though the exterior door (employee entrance or fire exit) has been leaking water for quite some time. The staff and customers have been walking through it, leaving what now looks like black mold from the waitstaff work station and bathroom area halfway down the aisle of tables/booths. I'm not saying this contaminated the food but it does seem like a health code violation of some sort and is quite gross to see/walk through at a restaurant.

Overall it was great!
Great service and atmosphere.
Food was very good other than the Ceasars Salad that had way to much salad dressing.
(Next time order the dressing on the side)

A pretty good meal. I had grilled "blackened " salmon and sides of broccoli and waffle fries. The broccoli was a little over cooked and the blackening a little low on spiciness. Still, I'm glad Applebee's is back doing good business after the pandemic. It's a good alternative to the average restaurant in the area.

The food was ok at best, and the service wasn't much better...our waitress was too busy socializing with others to do her job. The atmosphere was dark and dreary, and bordered depressing. This has got to be the worst Applebee's I have ever visited. We definitely will not return. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

This place was REALLY amazing! But i have one problem. there was a head inside the 5th urial / Toilet and a man was just peeing while it was still there? I was screaming in fear and he just acted calm and said it was normal. Anyways the steak tasted awful after i saw that.
