Every time I come to the Racine location it's terrible, but I wanted to be close to home and it had been awhile so I thought we'd chance it. Not many people in there, we sat at the bar. I ordered a drink, my friend ordered a drink and a water. Bartender took our drink orders, disappeared for about 10 minutes, chatted with the people next to us, took some more drink orders, chatted some more, made nobody's drinks. Finally after about 15 minutes we got up and left, with zero apology from any of the staff.

Once again we tried to visit your location, outside lights not on, & dark outside, looked light the establishment was not open. Went inside & no one to greet or seat us, stood by the hostess station over 3-5 minutes, saw no one to seat us. We left. And Racine was so much better than Kenosha. Oh yeah we ended up at Olive Garden

If I could give negative stars I would. Waited almost an hour to get 2 dinners,nothing fancy. Fish was burnt and chewy and riblets were cold on a screaming hot plate. Entertainment by hearing the server and kitchen staff screaming at each other. 6pm dinner and only one light on outside like the place is daring to get jacked. Place is getting worse and worse.

I went there on Jan 10, 2023 for my birthday. I arrived at around 6:21p.m. We were immediately sat. We waited for 20 minutes when the waiter apologized. We then waited another 10 minutes and she took our order which was 4 drinks to start with. That took another 20 minutes and another couple showed up and were seated next to our table. We get the three drinks and the waiter says there'll be a wait for the fourth. The couple next to us immediately were attended and they also ordered drinks. Our waiter comes back after another 15 minutes and serves the drinks to the table next to us (the couple that came in afterwards) and then we get the other drink. No apologies, no greetings, no water. It was a mess so we decided to ask for the check and also a wait to pay. I was there to celebrate my birthday what a bad taste. The expectation of waiting was not the major problem, it was the fact that another couple came and they immediately received their drinks. The drinks were supposed to be with alcohol and they were straight up juice.

I haven’t been to Applebees in awhile. It’s one of my favorite restaurants but I will not be going back! The food was awful I couldn’t believe it. My daughter couldn’t eat her food, she had a kids meal chicken Alfredo the chicken was so spicy she took one bite and spit it out! It was so dirty around us. The bathroom was disgusting. I was quite disappointed. I know all Applebees aren’t the same but right am afraid to go to any of them!

Food was burnt and over cooked. How does a double cheeseburger with bacon smell like fish? The tables were sticky. The salt, pepper and ketchup bottles were sticky. The bartender took our orders and brought out our food & my son noticed his hands were dirty. Every time I give this Applebee's a chance it never fails to disappoint us in every possible way. I get that it's the day after Christmas and you're remodeling the restaurant but for the love of Jebus.... I went recently and the server was respectful & she was quicker than most servers. It was an issue with the food being over cooked so i spoke with a manager name Madison at the bar who i seen making a alcoholic beverage that she poured into a togo cup right before she walked out the door that late afternoon after i finished speaking to her, i believe she had colored hair she was very rude & unprofessional i felt very unwelcome as respectful as i was to her. I’m disappointed how she spoke to us like she have no morals or respect for others what so ever I will never be back at the racine location again as long as she is there i highly recommend no one go to that location i will be contacting the corporation manager who i know very well since she claimed to be the general manager what she didn’t know is that the other 2 gentlemen that came in with me are food critics & I worked for the health department for 7 years i wanted to do a mild report on the restaurant to make it seem a little better.

Will not be going back. For a heads up don’t order the French onion soup. Per the manager this is the new recipe for the soup. I did not eat any of it and there was maybe 1/4 soup actually in the cup. Our server was horrible. He set down hot plates at the end and did not warn us how hot they would be. Never got any drink refills. Asked to talk to the manager and that took 20 minutes. Our server was on his phone the whole time and just sitting down. Out of the 3 tables there, 2 (including myself) had issues with there order.

Waited to be seated for a few minutes until we finally had to walk up to the bartender to ask where we could sit.

Every single person in my party had dirty utensils given to them. And some of the new ones that were brought out also had food on them.

Waitress was nice and personable, but didn't seem knowledgeable. She might have been new. Although, she is really the only reason I'm not giving a lower score.

Some of the meals were so-so and the rest were not good or incorrect. They were also out of a lot of things. Very disappointing. I keep trying to give this place a chance, but nah. Won't be going back there.

P.S. Adding a pic of the chicken my friend got. It was supposed to have an Alfredo sauce. They literally laid a piece of sliced cheese on top and halfway melted it.

DO NOT go to this place. It was my husband's bright idea to venture here although we haven't been to Applebee's in many years. Once there, the restroom smelled horrible although no one was in it. The windows are covered in plastic & most of the staff just sat around talking. The server was nice but the service was slow. Once received, my Impossible burger was burned really badly. I'm talking the burger & bun were black. I wouldn't dare touch it! They offered to make me another one but after already waiting a long time, I passed. Came in and No one at reception to seat us and after 5 minutes waiting said to bar tender who, was wearing a zip up hoody, baggy jeans and a baseball hat backwards playing what looked like a dice game at the bar, is there a hostess? Finally the host came to seat us. Very few people eating there. Husband had a burger but didn’t have any lettuce in the house. My glass of wine had dry food on it. People kept coming in to be seated and host nowhere to be found. A lot walked out. Same guy cleared tables but never wiped them down and he and bartender watching the game on tv at the bar. The employees at this location are a joke. They don't bring out curbside orders, because they are too busy on their phones and stuffing their faces with food. Ordered extra alfredo sauce and got extra alfredo sauce on the bottom of the bag, and all over every other meal while the actual alfredo meal was completely dry. I swear it was intentional. When I came in for my curbside order, they acted as if I were interrupting their meal, and my bag was swung at me with the alfredo sauce dripping from it like it was no big deal. If you can't be even mediocre at your job, just quit.

The service was amazing! The guy that came to greet us at the door was so friendly and full of energy, he honestly brightened my day! I went there with my bf and his mum and it was a very good experience. The waiter we had was also friendly and nice :)
The food was awesome! I got the bourbon chicken and shrimp. 10/10, I highly recommend this place. I was surprised it was so empty!

Slow service. Bad food. Not one table in the place was happy, and there were only 4 tables.

I'm not sure if they don't use trays, but they were carrying everything out 2 things at a time instead of using a tray like a normal restaurant would. We were served our app and my meal at the same time. Beer cheese was cold. She said she would have my husband's meal right out.

15 minutes go by without seeing her. I was completely done eating by the time she came back, without his food. Acted surprised the other guy did not bring out my husband's food. His was brought out like 5 minutes after that, the steak well done when he asked for medium rare, like they had just cooked it more to warm it up after sitting there for 15 minutes. Our baby was tired and feeding off our frustration, which was not helping. The waitress came back and offered to hold him for me but I said no, and she hung out weirdly close to us after that trying to calm down my baby when we just wanted to go home.

Horrible service. They had a grand total of three tables including ours. Every single table had issues. Servers constantly disappeared not to be seen for over 10 minutes. My food came out 20+ minutes after my wife's. Only because we asked where it was. My side was cold from sitting in the window and my steak that was ordered medium rare was well done and tasteless. It was absolutely awful. I took my sister and her kids to the restaurant and it took two hours to get the food. The shrimp tasted like rubber. They offered to get us a free desert so we decided on icecream. It was then that my sister was served icecream with a hair in it. They then had the nerve to ask us to come back on a better night. Not only that, the bathroom smelled awful. I took my nephew in and the smell was so bad that I felt like I would throw up. Never going here again.

Beware of this establishment. Went for lunch. The bill was $38. Did NOT leave a tip. Service was very slow not attentive. Next day checked my bank account and was charged $118. The manager or server wrote down a tip of $80 on the receipt clearly was not my handwriting. Went to the restaurant to get it straightened out. The GM was too busy apparently didn’t give us a call or anything. A different manager helped us out and said the whole amount would be refunded due to the inconvenience. Nope all they did was refund the $80 they tried to steal from me. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Horrible service!

Ordered carside to go. Spent $90 on meals for a family of 6. When we got home, one of the meals was missing. We called and were completely understanding and only asked for a credit for the meal and I shared my dinner with my little one. Call a week later to use the credit and received a gross, thrown together "$15" meal with inedible chicken, half of the noodles that are usually in the meal, and no breadstick that always comes with the meal. It was like a "take what you can get since it's a free meal." Only it wasn't free. I paid for it. I would slightly understand had I complained about a meal and demanded a replacement, however this was a $15 meal that I paid for and never received. I never leave reviews but this was unacceptable.

Absolutely terrible experience. I usually never have a problem with Applebees but this was just awful. Where to begin? The restaurant was EMPTY except for one other family. We waited 10 minutes for a server, and another 10 for drinks. I started a stopwatch when we ordered our food. It took 29 minutes to get our food.
My sister’s burger was black and hard, and had a HAIR INSIDE THE CHEESE. My ranch did not taste like ranch, we forgot a spoon for my mother’s soup, and there was a ton of grease on my other sisters plate.
My mother asked for a spoon and so the waiter went to go get one. When he came back, HE PULLED THE SPOON OUT OF HIS PANTS POCKET. We all lost our appetite when my sister found a hair in her burger, and so we asked for the bill. When he asked why my sister didn’t eat much of her burger, she said that there was a hair in it. The waiter asked what color the hair was, and she said that it was brown. And then he said “It wasn’t my hair!” I don’t care who’s hair it was - the point was that it was a HAIR. We all kind of looked at each other awkwardly and then the waiter said “Yeah I can tell the food was disgusting” and we didn’t know what to say. He brought us the bill and ANNOUNCED TO THE ENTIRE TABLE what the price was. He also leaned over watching my mother when she was writing the tip. As we were leaving, WE SAW AN OPEN BEER BOTTLE WHERE THE EMPLOYEES WERE. We high-tailed it out of there and that was that. Absolutely atrocious service and experience. Keep in mind we were the only people in there. Unbelievable.

Orded a Miller Lite on tap. They brought me a small glass, which was half foam and was flat. Our appetizer was ordered to be brought out before our food, I specifically asked for that.
Waiter set down the other table’s food and (while walking away) argued that it was what I ordered, the other table had to speak up and say it was their food.
Our food was brought out first before (and without) our app. Was told they were making it in reverse order. I had to tell them to take the app off my check and not to worry about bringing it out because we already had our food.
I ordered fish and chips, the first two I ate of 3 were fine and then I cut into the 3rd, it was full of undercooked batter. Plus it was supposed to have coleslaw, I didn’t receive that.

The place has gone to fast food quality and worse. I used to love this place. I will not go back to any Applebees again. They have disappointed me for a while now.

This location is under new management. I come here a couple times a year for business lunches but I don't think I will be anymore. I understand a lot of places are short staffed and have come to expect things to take a little longer but our group of 5 had a pretty crummy experience. Our waiter took about 10mins to greet us and get our drinks and that alone would have been fine but there were only 3 tables and we wouldn't see our waiter for 45 minutes after receiving our drinks! Our waiter placed our order of 2 salads, 2 burgers and a chicken breast and disappeared. When we finally spotted him he was hunched over in a booth on his phone as we tried getting his attention. Food was ok but not worth the wait and lack of service unfortunately.

I got this shrim pasta dish from the 2 for 35 meal and I didn't like it cause it was too sweet, the noodles were over cooked, and the bread sticks we're burnt. I changed it to the grilled chicken and mashed potatoes and that was fine. They only had 1 server but he did his best to stay attentive.

Placed an online order for car side to go at 5:05 and requested pickup at 5:40. They came out with our order BUT took it to the wrong car. Instead of checking other vehicles to see if it was theirs, they walked back in the restaurant. We called and they said they would check on our order and put us on hold. They NEVER came back to the phone. Walked in to check on order and got a rude comment that "others were waiting too". When we got home the food wasn't very warm and the time on the receipt saying it was ready was 5:37. That means our order was sitting there for over 20 minutes before we got it. Worst customer service and meal I’ve ever had in my life! I waited after calling multiple times got lucky if they answered and actually talked to me rather than being on hold for over 10 min. My food was supposed to be ready at 5:38pm. I didn’t receive it until 6:15pm! This was only after going inside and tracking an employee down to find my order. The hostess at the front didn’t acknowledge me as I was standing right in front of her, rather she was on her phone. My order was almost $70.00 for my family of 5 and she said she checked it, they still forgot stuff we paid for and our food was cold by the time we ate it and the fries seemed like they were stale. Really weird environment. Bartender claimed she wasnt playing music because it caused her to not be able to hear customers. She yelled at one of the younger waiters in front of customers. I'll preface this by saying that it's 2022 & everyone is short staffed right now.
We placed an online order at 6:19pm & selected the "Carside to Go" pickup option. The email confirmation said our food would be ready by 6:34pm. We pulled up at 6:33 & confirmed with their system that we had arrived. We waited patiently until 6:46 before we called, even though their sign says to call if we're waiting longer than a minute. Again, everyone is short staffed. When I called to ask if our food was ready & let them know we were waiting in the "Carside to Go", the girl said they were bagging up our food right then. Okay, great! We waited another solid 10 minutes for them to bring our food out. We finally went in & it was just sitting on the bar, getting soggy & cold. If you don't have enough people to run food out, then please just communicate that somehow. If the company can turn that option off on the website, perfect. If not, you can put temporary signs in the "Carside to Go" lot asking people to come in. I gladly would have. When I called to ask about our order & make sure you knew we were there waiting, it would have been the perfect time to ask me to come in & get it. Our food was supposed to be ready by 6:34 & it wasn't until 7pm before we left with our food. Please communicate instead of leaving food to sit until our patience is gone & we're frustrated.

Bad service I order to be delivered when driver show up brought a completely wrong order with a good ticket order I have to go back to the restaurant and spend 45 minutes to get my order done right went back home the order was completely raw I have to tossed and loose my money not order anymore plus another customer show up complaining about his food has human hair on his order and was a problem trying to gives him his money back

Place smelled like dirty diapers, recommend closure to clean facility, not many people there but yet had to wait to get one cup washed which still had something floating on it, then we received plastic silverware to cut into steaks, food took forever, and got a raw steak instead of medium well. We sat near the hostess station and they talked negatively about staff the whole time, they said cooks were new and not experienced. Overall this place needs to shut down, train staff and have a deep clean, very disappointed…..also bring back your he mudslides!
Manager did take off the steaks that weren’t cooked properly, it showed like she cared.

We were there for Dinner for a family outing, we try getting together for dinner about once a week for family night. Applebees Restaurant is a awesome place for lunch and Dinner, I definitely love my pasta as well as a Great Steak,this is what dinner is here Great food, salads are always fresh and crispy with lots of dressing, Entrees always comes with a choice of soup or salad and choice of potato and fresh dinner rolls or bread service is always friendly and courteous! I would definitely recommend Applebees for anyone who is interested in getting what you want in food and cocktails!

Sitting waiting to be seated for 15 minutes waiter says she’ll be with us in a moment to seat us. She goes to a table and has casual conversation about her personal life when there was 6 people waiting to be seated. I inform her ma’am there’s people waiting to be seated she goes well it’s only me so and turns back around to continue her conversation me and the other 2 couples waiting to be seated left because why don’t you having enough common courtesy to explain that to your customers this place has gotten worse and worse over the years I can see why this place is always empty

Used to frequent this restaurant a few years ago until the menu kept changing incluing portion size. Past month have given them another try. Curbside never responded to calling in the store or the app that we were there to pick up, we were forced to go in. Staff had additude when asked how long the food was sitting there. And yes we tip even with curbside. Second time was because the orange chicken bowl is back. Horrible take on the original. No almonds, snap peas or crunchy chow mein among other ingredients, the sauce was off and the rice was nothing like the original. Don't advertise your bringing something back and do a didn't spin on it. Disappointing.

Understaffed, long wait even though there were only a handful of people dining. Food tasty but presentation was bland. Limp French fries. My hubby & I love Applebee's but our most recent experience was terrible. I met my husband for lunch yesterday and the host at the door barely even acknowledged that I was standing here. Then our server came over with menus and offered drinks (very friendly) while I waited for my husband. I waited for several minutes watching as the server went from table to table and had to basically flag the server down to order an appetizer. When my husband finally arrived the server comes directly to the table without giving him a chance to even glance at the menu expecting him to know what he wants to order right away. We asked for a few moments. Ordered our food and when we received the buffalo wings they were plated on a giant pasta plate swimming in sauce with a plastic ranch cup just tossed on. The wait for our actual meal was ridiculous. The server informed us that there was only one cook. Which I completely understand (I work in a restaurant too and get the understaffing) but the place wasnt even busy. A couple 2 tops and a 10 top which was cobsidered a large party according to our server and tbeir food needed to be made first since they were a large party. We asked twice for refills on drinks that never came. Had the server bring me a top no box for my meal and she brings multiple boces not even boting that my husbamd's plate is empty. My husband mentioned we never got the refills we asked for. As she brings them as I am filling my top no box. No apology or anything. Like I said i undersrand being understaffed but you gotta do better ... Customer service is half the game.

When I order carside it is NEVER carside, you always have to go in and stand around for 10 minutes before anyone comes to help you because the workers seem to avoid having to do carside and they seem to just hide in the kitchen. Other servers will look at you and walk right by, not trying to assist, even though this place is pretty dead, nothing like it used to be a couple years ago. Always have to check the food to make sure they included the whole/correct order.

This place is so slow - no steak sauce - only had red mashed potatoes for a side with broccoli or fried green beans.
Tipped her well anyway ~ this has to be a management issue with all they're out of and how poorly it's run. Should just close down.

Came here today for lunch, the service was very slow. There seemed to be only one server working. It took forever to get our food. My food was ok(not the best, but what do you expect it's Applebees) but my daughter found hair in her chicken. The manager did adjust my bill because of it. It ruined my appetite. They just need to shut this restaurant down. It's not the same anymore. Don't even want to eat here anymore.

Took 15 minutes after sitting down to get a glass of water and an apple juice for my son. It took 20 more minutes before we could order anything else. When the food finally got to the table, we had no napkins or silverware, so we asked the waitress right away and we waited another 10 to 15 minutes for that. By then the food was cold. The four cheese mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders was horrible. Looks nothing like the picture. 3 little chicken nuggets on noodles. There was no pepper or spices, no bacon bits, just three plain frozen chicken nuggets on top of some pasta with a fake cheese spread. It was just nasty. I asked the waitress if this is how its normally served so she "fixed" the problem by microwaving 2 more chicken nuggets to throw on top. I used to like going to applebees, but this place is GARBAGE now.

NO SERVICE! They said there was a 20 minute wait cause staff was coming in a 4pm and we just sat there in an empty restaurant until we decided To go to Texas Roadhouse. I haven’t been to Applebees in a year because service is so horrible but this time there wasn’t even service. Talk about a business that shouldn’t been shut down at least a year ago. I will never go again. They lost over 50 costumers in people I know personally because everyone dislikes Applebees very strongly. Imagine how much money they lost because of how poorly they run Applebees. PATHETIC!

I used to really enjoy going to Applebee's. After today, I will never go back again. The place was absolutely filthy. My mom and I waited forever to be seated. There was only one waiter during a lunch rush. They didn't have the cocktails my mom and I wanted to order, or the food we chose off the menu. It took the waiter a half hour to tell us that. We just left. Why even open a restaurant that doesn't have food, drinks, or staff???

I ordered food for a car side pick up and when I came to pick up my food no one brought it out so I called to check the lady that answered the phone told me they were “Extremely “ busy and put me on hold never came back to the phone. I proceeded to go in and there was barely 5 tables occupied and 2 people at the bar that to me is not a extremely busy business one of the ladies at the bar didn’t even look my way while the other was cleaning another young lady came from the kitchen to help me after the other bar tender was done cleaning she asked if I needed anything after apologizing. This irritated me because the lady that didn’t acknowledge me looked like the manger that’s a great example. No wonder why no one goes there like they use to.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! I’ve never had a good experience here. I stopped going for a period of time because of bad experiences but I’ve came again, 3 more times and I hated EVERY visit. Today our server was horrible! She greeted us with “ok”. She then said “ like every alcoholic beverage was out”. When asked about another one she said “ahhh I have no clue about those drinks, we normally don’t even have a bartender” and she walked away. It took about 20 mins for her to even come to our table and 20 more minutes for our drinks to even come. This place has horrible service and is very slow!!! The two ladies who seemed to be managers, staff would come and ask them questions so I assume managers. One was pregnant & the other on crutches. They were horrible & I would not want them managing my staff. They were sitting next to us and they were watching videos and looking at pictures etc on the pregnant ladies phone. Why were they not helping their staff? Why were they not visiting tables? Why were they just chatting about life as the return at around them was failing, their team was failing. The bartender was doing way more than these ladies and he seemed very new but was taking WAY more initiative. They’re never busy, 10 tables top whenever im here so I do not understand. I’ve worked in the food industry, even managed restaurants. Im very disappointed in this establishment. It needs to just close down.

Got served a raw burger and plate full of grease when I asked for well done. Everything was disgusting. Ordered spinach dip and it tasted old, the chips were so greasy and stale that they didn’t even have a crunch to them. Fruit flies all over the restaurant. The waitress got the manager and all she did was take the burger off the bill. Didn’t offer anything else. Could have gotten food poisoning from that food. Yuck. Save your time and $$.

The front of house was friendly and when our waitress abandoned us, she was more than helpful getting our appetizers, entrees, and bill. We were given dirty silverware and most of the food had something wrong with it or tasted bland. The wait staff is more interested in talking in the kitchen than doing their jobs. At the end of the meal, we asked for boxes and the waitress disappeared for more than 20 minutes. She was friendly when we did see her but definitely not enough to where it was okay that we were left so long. At the end the waitress came AFTER we got the bill and boxes to apologize but it was a bit too late. Then, when we were pulling out money to pay, she was suddenly VERY attentive and hovered while we were calculating tip, making all of us feel very uncomfortable. Bless that front of house lady, she did all she could but all in all, a bad experience.

So I guess I can't post another review since I posted one before so I'm editing this review. I can write a book of how bad this restaurant is. My gf and I ate there on Sunday and the restaurant was pretty much empty. We arrived at about 415pm and the waitress sadoris was supposedly new but if she is new then the managers are horrible at training their wait staff, she was very unprofessional and using foul language and talking bad about her own cooks because another customer order wasn't right. My gf ordered the beef nachos and we've never had nachos that had so much oil in it. But like I said we got there at about 415pm and was out of there at about 530pm. There's a lot more I can say about how bad this place is but it probably won't make difference. I'm sure they'll blame it on not having workers but how is that Texas roadhouse is doing fine though, no excuses. I'd rather drive a hour away to another applebees before we go to this one again...I mean just close the restaurant and I'll drive to another location...😡😡😡

Its going down hill fast. Took my kids there for a nice dinner which we don't do often. We waited nearly an hour after ordering for our food to be given to us cold. My kids got mac n cheese and you can tell when mac n cheese sits for a while. The plates were warm but the food was ice cold. I told our server we wanted boxes and the check so we could go home and heat up our food because it came to our table cold and our server said she knew it was cold and she was sorry. Why would anybody serve cold food?! And there wasnt even a bartender. Last time we went, the blender was broke. I never have too many issues when the male server is the one who waits on me, but anybody else does it and everything that could go wrong does. It was also freezing if i may add. I do not plan on going to this location again. I am more than willing to take the extra drive to kenosha. Call ahead before wasting your time.
