We were seated very quickly and ordered our drinks which we received quickly, but then it went downhill quickly. I ordered chicken Tortilla soup and it was terrible. It tasted like mush..we also ordered 2 orders of boneless chicken wings because they were out of Mozzarella cheese sticks, and onion rings which was ok. It was late evening. The problem was the appetizers were served without eating utensils and plates. By the time we received it the chicken was cool. The biggest problem was the celery sticks looked like it was pulled from the ground and served to us. It even looked like a bug was on it. Not sure if it was or not but you be the judge of it. Picture attached. By the time we got our utensils our main course came. Our boys enjoyed their burgers but I was trying to figure out, how do you mess up cooking chicken tenders! The entire meal was terrible! The only thing I was grateful for is they comped our entire bill. It wasn't a great experience at all! We definitely WON'T RETURN!

No host when entering, waiter finally came and seated us.
Ordered the 2 for $25 steak meals, but waiter came back, said they were out of 6 oz. sirloins so we upgraded to 8 oz. for and additional $3 each.
Very good salad. Steaks (4) were all way over cooked, the medium rare orders were well done, and medium orders were dried out and tasteless.
Waiter never checked back on how our food was. Mashed potatoes were delicious.
Did get 10% off but was not because of the poorly cooked steaks.

On vacation at Wisconsin Dells I decided to place an order from this location via Door Dash. The order was somewhat expensive, and one of the items, a steak, was not prepared correctly, as it was only half cooked, with visible blood on the plate, and simultaneously tough and hard to cut. The mashed potatoes lacked flavor, similar to a boxed mix, and both were ultimately thrown away. Furthermore, I ordered a Cesar salad and onion soup, but the croutons were missing, shrimp was missing that was supposed to be included with the steak... I ordered 2 bread sticks & only got one and the drink I ordered was not included. The overall experience was disappointing, leaving me feeling upset, hungry, and dissatisfied.

We hadn't been to apple bees for years and decided to give it a try while staying at the dells. We ordered food for carry out, food quality was horrible. My husband had ordered our son bone-in wings, only to realize
that they have given us boneless instead. When he called to speak to the manager, she said it was either that or nothing, we would have preferred to have received a call to tell us there wasn't bone in wings. Overall food quality in the dells is not great!

Placed a pickup order of a medium-rare 6oz sirloin with mashed potatos and a Caesar, brew pub pretzels with extra beer cheese and a Dr. Pepper. The steak was well done, and there was no sauces with the pretzels. I ate it because I was tired after driving all day, but very disappointed that even basic aspects of an order like the dipping sauce were not done.

Starting off service was ok. Ordered drinks that didn't take overly long to get. Our appetizer was the queso. It was a long wait to get and was served at room temp. Our meal was served with soggy fries. My wife's burger she said was good. My cheddar bacon chicken sandwich was well over done. Tasted like it was microwaved. Made with fake cheese like McDonald's would use and inedible. As much as I tried to eat it I spit every other bite out because I couldn't chew it. It was like leather. To them it looked like I ate over half of it so they wouldn't comp us for the sandwich. A quarter of the sandwich was spit back out on the plate. Half the sandwich was uneaten. That totals a quarter of it I ate but whatever. I sure as heck would not recommend this place. There was also 3 people that waited so long for a hostess to seat them that they walked out and left. The host was not doing anything but talking to another employee at the time.

We stopped while traveling thru the area. Was a cold day and restaurant was none too warm inside. Server was wearing a coat. Sat at the bar and the cleanliness behind the bar was almost bad enough to leave. Ordered food and was overall good. Fries were a little cold. As we were getting ready to pay, heard a couple loud bangs then gushing water from kitchen followed by the fire alarm going off. The waitress assured us there was no fire. I hate this Applebee's. Always understaffed and had a huge problem once where they locked their doors and wouldn't let anybody else in because they didn't have enough staff. Which means I couldn't get my order that I placed online and I couldn't contact anybody inside. Once I did about an hour later they said that they would be right out and it literally took them probably 40 minutes and I called two times in between that time. It was a mess. But sometimes I crave wonton tacos & a perfect margarita so I stop in.

I've given this place quite a few chances, everyone makes mistakes after all, but I think this was my last. Delivery order. Most of the food was cold. Not lukewarm, that's cool it took time to get to me kinda temp. Legit cold. Fries were cold. Boneless wings were outta the fridge. The classic app combo: spinach artichoke dip was kinda off. Asked for ranch instead of marinara, got the marinara. Was supposed to have two ranches, neither one included. No salsa for the quesadilla, though that was pretty good. Riblets were fine, though again, the temp was not good.

This is the most recent in a handful of orders where so many things have been missed or the completely incorrect order was given to me. Over it. Make sure if you do order takeout from here that you check it before you leave.

Worst Applebees I’ve ever been to. Here’s why.

First, it was nearly empty. Maybe 6 tables, 3 servers and a couple stragglers at the bar.

Yet still took 55 minutes to get a salad. Then to have the salad be wrong, the waitress argued with me about it. I asked for the new one to go and 20 minutes later she finally gave it to me. Get this, it was in the same Togo container as my boneless chicken wings (way too small for a dinner size salad- come on guys). I get this salad nearly every time I go to an Applebees.

Our waitress was wonderful but the wait was so long there were only 2 other families there and it took forever for our food. All our silverware were filthy, and the food was burned or missing the key ingredients like the honey pepper chicken pasta, no sauce, no breadstick, and the penne with chicken was burned no breadstick the riblet dinner all bones and the artichoke dip had no cheese on top and the mozzarella sticks were severed with ketchup not marinara. The staff and manager was very welcoming friendly and helpful! My server was Karen, she provided outstanding friendly service to make sure that I had everything I wanted. She also came up with great recommendations and awesome deals on the specials from the $5 tipsy reindeer margarita and the $10 meal deal. We hadn’t been into our local Applebees in years and wanted to give them a chance and try out their burger/chicken sandwich special. Upon entering we were met by an employee who was very nice and seated us.
We waited 12 minutes and never were approached by anyone. We only saw one waitress and the gentleman who greeted us. I think they are very short staffed. The gentleman who seated us started cleaning tables after he had sat down to eat. If we had been offered something to drink we probably would have stayed but we left without ordering.
I should mention they only had about 3-4 tables of customers.
The floors could use a serious vacuuming and really should be replaced as they are very worn. Tables need a good cleaning as well.
We were hoping for a better experience.

One thing with Applebee's is they are always trying new things with new food combos, new platters, and new specials. I appreciate that. It does have more of a corporate feel than it did years ago but for the most part the food is still good. Service can be hit or miss but luckily the last time the server was pretty good. They new the menu well and were able to answer questions we had. Food was good though it did seem to come out slow for the number of tables that were filled at the time we were there.

Stopped in for the new "Big Cluckin' Chicken Sandwich" deal. Ordered by phone and was very happy to have it waiting for us at the bar when we arrived. Nice thick and juicy sandwich, good fries and large drink at a great price. Went out for Veterans Day tonight to celebrate my husband, first off we didn’t get a server until almost 15 mins. Secondly then told us it was shift change, shift change that never happened. Only one new person came on and one person left. So shift change my ass. Thirdly than we ordered our food drinks an apps all at once, our app came out 30 minutes after we order. The food was disgusting. I ordered the chicken cesar salad and the lettuce and the dressing was vile. When the waitress came to take our food away; she looked at the chicken and said, “Oh, I’ll take that off the bill.” She then proceeded to touch the chicken with her finger and say “yeah that’s undercooked.” This was after multiple people at the table had eaten the chicken. Would not recommend, we had to make an emergency stop at the Walgreens next door because all of our stomachs started hurting. The bartender was also unprofessional by being on his phone and taking loudly through his AirPods.

I went to this Applebees yesterday with my parents siblings and our kids. The experience was HORRIFIC!!!!! When we got there they were only accepting cash payments which was fine but the vibe was like they wanted us to leave anyway. We were greeted and seated quickly but the chairs and tables were dirty and we had to stand until someone came. The waiter they gave us was the oldest worker in the building! Mind you we have a party of 13 people and they tried to make her do everything alone! We got our appetizers before we even got our drinks. And by the time the kids food came. All the adults had already ate and the kids weren’t hungry anymore because we had to share our food! And everything was coming back cold even the apps!

When it was time to pay. The manager went and hid in back and told the employees that she ran to quick trip for supplies! What supplies does quick trip have for Applebees? Our waiter told us she was in back and would go get her. When she came back she said in a lying voice that the manager did leave! Mind you it was late in the evening and like 1 or 2 hours before closing! Another employee stated that she could text her! I stated if you can text her then you could call her. She then replied in a rude tone that she only has the manager on Snapchat so I stated SNAPCHAT CAN MAKE CALLS TOO!!!! She then stood at the register looking at our receipt doing nothing to help.

Before leaving our server told us that she had recently called the health department and they were there yesterday

I have never experienced an Applebees as bad as this!!! This isn’t even the whole experience but this was enough! We shouldn’t have paid at all! The staff was horrible when we asked questions!

I came yesterday, and Michelle was an experienced hostess. What made me come back today is that the fast service and food tastes great.

Today, as I needed more details before submitting this review after this new experience, what was overwhelming...

We came in the happy hour frame, and the hostess redirected us to the bar to be served promptly, but I've noticed some other customers were leaving the establishment because they were not served fast enough.

Management should care to train to their employees about basic staff service as I was attract to the happy hour and it was great but the lack of assertiveness it's giving the bad reputation to this business but Luis, the bartender took care of us and was attentive to the new customers. Sadly, the other staff is not having the energy today to care for a wave of new people in town as it's Wo-sha-wa festival.

Luis, attention to detail should get him a raise and the credit of multi-tasking to gain some customers and don't leave angry reviews.

Applebee's in Wisconsin Dells, train your staff better so they can enjoy working here and making money.

If you want fast service, start at the bar, and don't get lost in the middle. If you see something, say something!!!

Well it started off real well. We were greeted, drink order taken in a timely manner, food order as well. But after that went down hill. (We were just there tonight 9/13/2024) Our appetizer took really long for some reason and it was spinach and artichoke dip (very good btw). We got our food. And pretty much nothing else after. The riblets were very dry and I only was able to eat one. The server never came back to check on us or offer any refills. I had to ask another server for a to go container and another different one to get our server so we could pay. He never grabbed the dirty plates. It seemed most of the servers just stood around talking and not doing anything. A big group of customers walked in and they couldn't even fully sit cause apparently a table was still dirty. First of all i'm editing my review from memorial day weekend. I'd like to say that the score went up.But the score went in the toilet!!! Last time our food was impeccable.Which is the most important thing when you're going out to eat obviously. I had the baby back ribs The last time and the meat was falling off the bone!! This time the ribs were disgusting!!! Honestly the worst ribs i've ever eaten in my life!!! But I was very hungry and tried To eat them ,but the meat was so tough🤮!!! I ended up eating less than half of them..when my server Came to ask how the food was.I told him That the ribs were the worst i've ever had and he felt so bad. My servers name was Mathias, And honestly he was the only redeeming quality of this entire experience at your establishment!!! Then someone, and I hate to say this but complete JERK named shane Came over and tooled me.He was only giving me $8 back because I ate.Almost all of them which like I explained earlier I did not if he would have looked at the bones.He would have noticed most of the meat was still on the bones because it was so tough and I couldn't even eat it!!! He had this Terrible attitude with me and honestly.I just wanted to punch him in the face.But luckily I don't do things like that but he's the type of person that I could see someone doing this to!!! He had this air of arrogance abouthat should not exist any manager!!! And I should know this.I used to be a general manager and I used to run five RESTAURANTS. If I had someone who I assume is some type of fill in manager treat 1 of my customers This way I would fire him on the spot!!!! Staff cares more about the quarter finals for soccer than serving their customers. We were seated at the bar because servers were “too busy to be seated because they all had 3 tables”. You would think the 12 servers we counted wouldn’t be circled around the tv if they were so busy. Even the manager was watching with a vape in her hand. All of our drinks were empty with a bartender behind the counter. Very unprofessional. I wouldn’t be complaining if we didn’t have the exact same treatment the day before. Don’t recommend.

I used to love going to applebees, but as time has gone on, applebees has been going downhill. I don't really recommend going to applebees anymore because of the size of food or to steak or be cold or the service. Is it not that great when you seem to have a black hostess? I have noticed that there. Getting to you is less important than them, talking on their phones. Or talking to their friends. I think ween need to change that atmosphere where the customer comes in. They need to be top priority, but it never seems to be that way. My server had a hard time understanding english as well. She couldn't speak. English, let alone talk to me in english. I think there needs to be some improvement there. The food was cold, and she also didn't understand what I wanted. I wanted mashed potatoes, not baked tails. She brought me a baked potato although I ate it and said. Don't worry about it. I think it's important again to know how to speak. English.

Go literally anywhere else.
I went in with the lowest expectations. I picked it because I didn't want to deal with crowds and I was already in the parking lot. The restaurant itself is desperately in need of some TLC- ripped carpet, broken TVs, wobbly tables, sticky everything. Food took half an hour to come out and there were only 3 other tables of people there. Food was lukewarm and stupidly overpriced.
My fault for being lazy and choosing to go. Don't make my mistake- better food, atmosphere and prices at McDonald's.

Ordered 82.50 worth of door dash while on vacationin the dells. Excluded all bacon as we do not eat pork for health reasons. Bacon was in everything of one meal. Neither children's chicken strip meals came with the ordered dipping sauces so kids would not eat their meals. Mac and cheese was ordered with extra cheese and did not come. NO silverware, so I ate a steak and mashed potatoes with my fingers. Wife ate Mac and cheese with a home made spoon. Salads had no dressing. Terrible experience.

Update 6-28-2024... Applebee's corporate said it Is door dash fault... not sure how dd put pork all over my dinner but OK? I expected maybe a complimentary desert or 2 for next time... but ILL Keep posting on every website I can possibly think of until my $82.50 is returned.

During our stay at the dells we decided to come eat here. Very unpleasant time due to this rude customer at the bar. Customer was yelling at the server and when asked for the manager (Bianca) she refused to come over and talk with the customer. Customer walked into the kitchen and the server was calling him to redirect him. Manager never showed her face until the customer stormed out of there. In addition, our server was great but he kept touching his hair and running food. I’m not sure if he washed his hands every 5 minutes he would touch his hair but it was very concerning due to him running food. We just finished what we could and left. Not a welcoming environment at all.

My boyfriend and I got sat in a booth here and we watched a table literally walk out because there food was cold another table had to have their food remade and another waited over 45 minutes for their food. We were there for about 30 minutes and not a single person besides the hostess acknowledged us. When someone did come over they apologized went to tell the server and the two of them proceeded to argue about whose table it was . At this point we decided it was time to go . Never got to even order drinks. I understand being understaffed but people sat after us had ordered and received their food.

Worst experience ever. We waited 25 minutes after being seated to then have to go ask for a server. The lady then gave us a server who was fairly new, so we were trying to be understandable. He brings us our spinach artichoke dip and the chips were STALE. At this point I asked for a manager and he then said he would check if they were actually stale before he then comped our appetizer. The food was overall good, but the service wasn’t the greatest. We were reasonable with him as both of us work in food service. When we got the check, he ran my card twice. At this point I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon.

We were delighted to have had Carlos as our waiter did a great job and remembered everything. I personally got the artichoke and spinach dip and the 12 oz ribeye. The dip was great. Chips were very plain but that was fine cause I got to appreciate the dip more. The ribeye at a great taste. Loved their steamed broccoli(ask for a lemon so you can squeeze it on the broccoli) and their potatoes were good too. Overall loved our food and service and thank you again Carlos!

Worst experience ever. AND IM LOCAL! first waited for dude who looked like he was high out of his mind. Got us drinks I drank ALL of mine and everyone got a refill and I didn't get anything. Waited thirty minutes between salad then appetizer and then another 30 minutes for our actual food so already an hour and a half. The other server was getting his people like crazy the staff doesn't do sections at dells so the waiters are making themselves tired literally RUNNING table to table cause they're scattered everywhere. The manager was a joke. Heard me getting upset and still acting like he was doing something. When guy finally came back he couldn't remember what ANYONE ordered gave my wife my plate gave my friend my other friends plate. Even after telling him before setting the plate down. Then I told him everything might be good if I wasn't so thirsty looked at me like I was stupid then I had to say I wanted water 15 minutes later he comes back to say sorry I thought when you said you were thirsty you wanted a margarita I said where did I ever say I wanted a margarita? You didn't ask me what I wanted to drink. Didn't ask if I wanted a strawberry colada which was NO ALCHOLIC so why would I want a hard drink? I wanted what I ordered agai. Whether it wasn't a free refill or not or simply a water. After eating and splitting checks my wife waited 20 minutes until she started following the waiter to even pay she could've just walked out of the store and no one would've realized until later she didn't pay. This company sucks. I used to live in oklahoma and their restaurants in the Applebee's chain are WAY better management sucks. They ignore you so they don't have tk deal with complaints didn't get anything knocked off my 50 plus dollar meal after everything either. The waiter wouldn't even go get the manager the waiter tried fixing things on his own even after I told him I didn't want to talk to him anymore. I could serve better then this and before yall tell me to apply I've tried and you could've been getting better reviews but yall wouldn't call me back😂 this place is a joke even for the locals just imagine how these tourists feel

Worst experience ever my first time at Applebee’s this place was horrible the service was really bad we never got our drinks they sat on the bar melting for 15 min The waiter was nowhere inside, and all the other staff were standing around talking completely ignoring us . The tables all around us were disgusting and filthy covered in dirty dishes All the staff just stood around and talked. There were 8 of us and I know no one else in this party will be going there again . This place is giving the entire chain a bad name.

I remember why we stopped going to Applebees years ago. Especially this one. My daughter and I only stopped because a particular dish was suggested to me and I wanted to try it. The minute we sat down, I knew it was a mistake. No server came to greet us and take at least drink orders. I had to have the hostess get a server. When he finally came, he seemed like he didn’t want to be there. No apologies for the wait. Took our order without writing it down. Then came back within a minute to verify my daughter’s order because he already forgot it. The food was decent but nothing to rave about. Never came back and checked on us until he could see we were finished. Then just asked if we wanted boxes. Didn’t bring the check for a good 5+ minutes after that. It wasn’t even busy for the server to have an excuse to not come by quicker. This place is horrible when it comes to service. This was the main reason we stopped coming here and we won’t be back. Not even for a to-go order.

OMG...talk about horrible service, we must have been our servers very first customers in life. He brought the water and drinks to the table pretty quick and said your coffee is brewing it will be 2-3 min. He brought out appetizer, we're had to send back not cooked n cold, about 20 min he brought me coffee n our mozz sticks. 45 min later we had to ask manager we is our food n another 10 min and they were coming with food. Food was good but slightly cold.

Was seated and got our drink and food order taken but had a coupon for a free dessert for a birthday and the waiter said had to ask the manager. Never addressed it when bought the drinks and appetizer, or bought food and then didn't see him again and needed refills so had to get the hostess to get refills. Where is the management? This is my second time trying to eat here, both times I couldn't get anyone to seat me. It's sad, the restaurant was pretty empty, and it lacked staff. I'm not sure where the leadership is or was???
People waiting to be seated were being told it would be a 20 minute wait. There were only 10 tables with customers, hardly busy.
I ended up asking for a to go order...it took 20 minutes. My chicken wings were extremely dry and tasted old, the chicken tenders were small. I ended up feeding the meal to my dogs. It was a total waste of money to stop here!
Please, please....where is the district manager? This Applebee's is the WORST Applebee's I have ever been to. It needs a total team to come in and shape this place up. It needs authority, leadership, guidance by people who truly care about their customers. There is NO excuse for this!! Definitely a disgrace to the franchise!! The food was horrible, the environment even worse. The bartender was the only one who seemed to care. NEVER coming back, yuck!! 🤮

First time coming to a place where the service was absolutely terrible, for it to he my birthday this was the worst experience ever. The Waitress was literally not listening to anything we were saying, she brought out the wrong drinks, wrong food and so on, her attitude was absolutely terrible and my salmon was dry as a desert. 1st, I ordered the cheese bites. My wife ordered the oriental chicken salad. I ordered a Heineken N.A. The waiter, Shane, brought the non alcoholic beer with his thumb resting on top of the opened bottle! Discusting! After waiting for our food, the waiter came to our table to inform me they didn't have cheese bites, so I ordered the chicken wonton tacos. We waited, and then they brought our food, except my wife's salad was the wrong order and not the oriental chicken version she had requested. Our waiter was training a new hire; it's not a good way to start.

Sat down, took 30 mins before we started to get our drinks. Didn't get all of them. Then, food order & drink order was wrong or missing. Waiter went missing for awhile. Had to ask another waiter for help. When talking to the manager on staff about the issues, he pushed them onto the GM. Who wouldn't be in until 3 days later when we weren't in town anymore. We went with a group on Sunday at 4:30 and almost no one was there. They sent only one server to take 18 people’s orders. We never received waters or anything to drink for over 30 minutes but instead started getting appetizers and salads before the drinks even arrived. I asked the bartender if we could get waters and she refused and said she would let our server know. Food started coming out before drinks came out. Their tap beer was not available so instead of getting a tall, cold tap beer for their $4 happy hour special, I instead received a $5 warm bottle of Miller Lite. My daughter got an oreo shake that had sat out so long the whipped cream had melted into the shake and it wasn’t all that cold anymore.
We ordered a burger and fries as well as two pasta dinners. My dinner was supposed to be a glazed chicken over pasta and instead it was dried out chicken strips with almost no glaze. $60 for three of us and to get a refill of water and soda we had to go up to the bar and get it ourselves. I left a $10 tip still but felt ripped off because we never received any service the whole time other than getting our bill at the end of the meal. The whole time we were there I kept looking over at Culver’s wondering why we didn’t just go there.

I wish I could give this review no stars because the service was absolutely horrible. Four customers in the whole place and still couldn’t get a server to come to our table. A couple gentleman walked in 5 minutes after us and had a server after a few minutes. 15 minutes went past and we still had not seen a server. Needless to say we got up and left. Stopped in for lunch and two of us decided to get the all-you-can-eat soup, salad and breadstick lunch. The lettuce on the all you can eat special seemed old like it was sitting out at room temperature for quite awhile. It was warm and rubbery and no where near crisp and fresh tasting. We had the tortilla and french onion soups which were just ok - nothing special. Since it was all you can eat, we asked the server for another soup and breadstick right away to get our order in however it still took some time before it came out. I would assume the soup is already prepared so dishing up another one shouldn't be too much effort. I thought the waitress was pleasant and overall did an ok job. All in all however, this dining experience does not measure up to the Applebees I remember from 10 or so years ago. It almost seems as if this chain has seen it's better days.
