Stopped for the first time with my family. Fantastic! I had the Mahi Mahi, and it was delicious... I also took a forkful of one sisters walleye and it was great, I'm coming back for that! Another sister got the lobster risotto and couldn't finish it, so of course I had to help her out. That was incredible too! We topped it off by sharing a creme brulee... It was great, and I can't wait to return...

My grandparents, Gene and Ceil Karcz used to own and operate this building in the 1960s and 70s. It was called Karcz’s bar back then. My family and I thought it would be fun to go there recently, and that perhaps even the owner would get a kick out of meeting the prior owners’ family. Some additional relatives decided to make their own reservation shortly after ours was scheduled, and the plan was to eat separately and have a drink together before or after the meal.

The owner canceled both reservations. When my aunt, who made the first reservation called and asked why, the owner was extremely snotty and accused her of trying to circumvent the policy limiting the number of people per reservation. Just because other relatives made their own reservation after ours. She tried to explain this to the owner, and he hung up on her.

So, to the owner- I have no idea who you are, but the way you speak to other human beings, let alone prospective patrons is disgusting. What an appalling way to run a business. I’m sure my grandparents would be horrified knowing someone as rude and disrespectful as you is now running their bar.

And by the way, we took our business elsewhere and went to a different area restaurant where we were treated with dignity. Your loss.

Don’t go here! Asked for simple non-dairy option like rice or fries instead of dairy potato options, told no way! I have a dairy allergy and this was a simple request. Prices way too high for this dive bar. Go to Chives instead.

Very disappointed. After spending $25 on 2 drinks, got our table only to discover nothing on menu was dairy free. Asked to sub fries for cheesy potatoes and told absolutely not…no substitutions in anything. Told we should have looked at the menu before coming. Come on…throw down a basket of fries, not too tough! Atmosphere definitely dive bar. Was hopeful, but left hungry! Staying with Chives for the prices they are charging and unwillingness to help someone with food allergy.!

We did the tasting menu for my birthday. Wish I could rate it higher than 5 stars. Totally unpretentious vibes, just classic Wisconsin. The food is out. of. this. world. Some classic pairings/dishes with a bit of a twist - emphasis on local and seasonal flavors. My favorites were the herby nutty hollandaise based dressing on a charred/grilled romaine and a mahi mahi with chicken fried rice and carrot ginger purée. Chef Curt is also just fantastic to talk to - laid back, funny, so knowledgeable and talented. Staff was amazing. On the higher price end but worth every penny.

We stopped in on a Saturday night after hearing about it at a fundraiser a few weeks before. We didn't realize we needed reservations but they squeezed us in 40 minutes later. My ribeye and my wife's scallops were both amazing. The bartender and waitresses were very accommodating. We will absolutely be back to try other entrees. The chicken dish looked really good when it came out for somebody else. Thank you for a great meal and drinks.

If you haven’t eaten here yet you need to! The steak was amazing. It had a nice crispy sear and was perfectly cooked inside and warm. The cheese mashed potatoes are so smooth and creamy. The lobster risotto was the best I’ve ever had. We also had the Calamari and Crab Cakes. Both were amazing. Definitely would come back.

We love Archie’s the food is outstanding! Bartenders are wonderful. Only complaint was our waitress. Made inquiry about one of the dishes on the menu that stated it had lobster and seafood. We asked what the other seafood was and she she said “it has seafood things” we politely asked if she could could find out for us while she put in our appetizer order what the other seafood was, she returns and stated what the seafood was but couldn’t remember what some of what the chef said. Not the end of the world and yes we have a great sense of humor so we got a a little laugh out of that. Having been a waitress it is their job to know the menu and ingredient’s especially when you are paying those prices.

This place is amazing. I love the small bar atmosphere. My old fashioned was perfect. The bartender was so friendly welcoming.

Love Archie’s. It’s a hidden gem off the beaten path. Chef Curt rocks. He has a wonderful menu. I’m partial to the Pan Seared Ribeye and Macadamia Nut Crusted Walleye. It’s a quaint little country bar that has been transformed into an experience that’s certainly worth a visit.

It does get a bit busy at times, so I’d recommend having a reservation.

If the parking lot is full, we park across the road in the church lot.

I had heard about this place on a FB post, so I thought we’d give it a try. 3 of us had reservations, ( a must) at 6:00. Upon arriving, I could tell it would be busy as there were cars parked all along the road. It looks like it would be one of those bars, where everybody know your name and if they don’t then you probably aren’t welcome, but that’s judging a book only by its cover. We went to the bar to let them know we had 6:00 reservations and they were still cleaning up the table so we ordered drinks. 2 of us, had a gin/maple delicious drink and 1 had wine. Very nice extensive drink list. For our meals, we ordered 2 appetizers, Brussel sprouts and the bread cheese. The sprouts were delicious, so was the bread cheese HOWEVER, we saw a pesto fries and burrata walk past and well, it looked divine. I ordered pork tenderloin, one friend had the salmon special, and another had the steak. Ribeye maybe? Anyway, all three were delicious. Pork was tender, and veggies perfect. I also had their soup, Miso butternut squash and it was TO DIE FOR. Salmon had a perfect crust with a nice Thai sauce on the side, and the veggie sides were unique and delicious. The steak, perfect char, rare with butter on top…the top “ supper clubs” or steakhouses could learn a thing or two on how a steak should look and taste. The ONLY disappointment was the cheesecake flight. Small perfectly round, pretty sure not homemade, cheesecakes with no discerning flavor differences. Maybe the turtle cheesecake was homemade and we should have gone with that. Or kept the soup for dessert.

This hidden gem is the place not to miss. Impressive menu with atypical items, presented as if in a high-end restaurant.
Enjoyed generous portions of lobster chunks in a creamy risotto. Next time trying the Macadamia nut crusted walleye.
Friendly, attentive server. Lower than expected prices, maybe due to no frills atmosphere?

Been here a few times when I come back home to meet friends that are regulars. Definitely the small town feel (which I enjoy) and you get the amazing Wisconsin price on your choice of drink. They have pool, darts and the older digital gambling card games as well. I have never tested the food and don't know what is all served but I'm sure it's good. If you're a city slicker this would be considered a dive bar but it's the real deal and has a better environment than any dive bar I have been too.
