Archives definitely is my go to place. Staff is amazing but tonight was especially busy during open mic. Sam and Alice killed it bartender and serving and the kitchen staff is second to none! What's not to love about Archives Bar and Grill? My little one and I stopped in for a bite to eat and what a day to stop in! It was Archives 3rd birthday party bash and the place was hoppin'- live music, great raffle options, and friendly service. We were able to sit right away, no rush looking at the menus- this was our first time stopping in.

My little one ordered a normal cheeseburger with fries (their pickle slices are SO good). I got the July Burger of the Month "Southern Comfort"- melty pimento cheese and REAL bacon, not that microwaved floppy stuff. We also ordered their pull apart cheese curds- curds like I've never experienced before! They seem to be cooked together in a deliciously crispy batter, so you literally pull them apart! Their fries seem to be fresh cut, they type that have the skins still on some of them. So good! But what blew me away the most is their house-made ranch, ketchup, and mustard. I could immediately taste the difference. My mouth is watering just remembering them haha! 10/10 we'll go back.

My wife and I tried Archives while we were out for a ride on our Harley. We found the place to be clean, and comfortable. My wife ordered the BLT and I had the Italian hot beef sandwich. My wife and I tried Archives for lunch while staying in Lake Geneva for our anniversary. Food was fresh and delicious! We tried the chicken tenders, cheese curds, chicken sandwich, and homemade chips. They feature homemade sauces and dips as well. The best part was the gluten free options for my wife as she has celiac. Even the beer battered fried options were gluten free (gf beer used in the batter). She doesn't get to have fried foods out often, so it was a special treat! Excellent service as well! I also appreciated the chilled glass brought out for my beer, nice touch! My boyfriend and I are gluten free. Traveling is always hard because we have to try and atleast find "gluten friendly" restaurants to eat at.

We were traveling to Lake Geneva and came across this bar and grill. We have NEVER had such great gluten free food from a restaurant before. Everything was so delicious. Especially the cheese curds. Definitely worth trying. We plan on coming back just for the food!

The food was excellent. Get the cheese curds, #1. The fish fry was great and I had the fried chicken sandwich, adding bacon and the spicy mayo. The fries were crispy, as requested, and tasty.

I doubt you'll find anything bad on this menu. The service was excellent but I again didn't get her name. From what I saw they're all very good.

If you are in burlington you need to try this place, if you can find a spot to sit... They're busy!

We went there on a Friday night for fish fry for the first time and got there about 6:15. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait - no problem at all! We stood outside and waited - it was a beautiful night! We ended up waiting one hour and 15 minutes until 7:30 before learning that they were taking a table of 2 who had only been waiting for 20-30 minutes and had arrived after us. We also heard them tell this couple that they would be the last table that would be able to order fish. Not sure why this couple were seated before us, and not sure why we received no updates during our one hour and fifteen minute wait. We left. Not going back.

Given this place at least five tries and always have a negative experience unfortunately. Long wait times, usually an hour plus, for food. Long wait for drinks, sometimes ten to fifteen minutes. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. My friend and I came in after the lunch rush, hoping to grab a quick burger and some wings while we waited for jewelry to be repaired. From the moment we walked in, the service was lackluster. The waitress barely acknowledged us, didn’t make eye contact, and after a while, reluctantly asked if we had been helped.

We were told no tables were available, but I pointed out one that we had passed on our way in. After being seated, we waited nearly 40 minutes before checking in about our food. At that point, we were told it would be "a little bit longer" but never received any updates or apologies for the delay.

Throughout the experience, the waitstaff didn’t seem to care at all. Our drinks were never refilled, and when we inquired about the food, the response was essentially, "What do you expect? We’re busy." It felt like we were a burden, and we were never offered any kind of explanation or apology.

After waiting some more without any food, we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. One of the patrons at the bar actually apologized on behalf of the restaurant, which was nice, but it didn’t make up for the poor service.

I understand places get busy, but a little courtesy and respect go a long way, and this place completely missed the mark.

Wanted to check this place out and play a little trivia. They use a special batter on their cheese curds, chicken sandwiches and other items that adds delicious crispness, and those curds had quite the cheese pull. Our group enjoyed chicken sandwiches, chili, BLT, and a spectacular burger of the month with a touch of spicy. Our cocktails included blackberry old fashioned and a spicy, refreshing variation of a margarita. The bonus was that we won the trivia game. The game host was fun and moved through the game with bonus questions quickly. We will definitely be back again.

My wife and I stopped here for the first time by chance today. We were very impressed with the food! The cheese curds and poppers were very good. The poppers are obviously hand made and are the best I've ever had. The Italian beef was very flavorful and reasonably priced as well. But everyone needs to try their chicken tenders! Yes, they are that good. The breading is great and they are so juicy. All of their sauces are homemade and delicious as well. You probably can't go wrong with anything they make. This is the first time I’ve ever come to Archives and they appeared to be short staffed so I was being patient and sympathetic for the 1 waitress working however that went downhill quickly! We waited but ended up going to the bar for a drink refill. Received my food and waited approx 15-20 min to get the waitress’s attention because I wanted ketchup and my medium rare burger was well done. When I mentioned this to the waitress she said ok, brought ketchup which she dropped at the table wothout a word. At this point I look up and realize she was socializing. My blood was boiling! When we asked for the bill my food clearly wasn’t eaten (see the pic) and she didn’t even ask if I want a box. I’m so disappointed in my food, the service and my overall experience. Don’t come here if you are hoping to get good service! I imagine the food would be good if it was prepared how I asked it to be.

I'll start with the good. The cocktail was perfect. We ordered two appetizers, the jalapeño poppers and the pull apart cheese curds. The poppers were good, and the curds had been left in fryer so long that there was little to no cheese left. We ordered burgers with pink, and when they came out, they looked great. The first bites had no pink in either, both overcooked with no flavor. The fries that came with them had been left in the fryer too long and also had no flavor. Came here based on reviews and wish we had the same experience. The service was not great. We were greeted and seated, and then we saw no one for at least 10 minutes. The restaurant was empty with only 3 tables occupied, we became the forth. We ordered some appetizers and drinks, and the drinks were good, but see above about the appetizers. We ordered our food and waited a long time for our order. My 91 year old father, who never complains about food, commented on the wait for the lack of customers.

I've been here 3 times and the place has not disappointed at all. I got Monday's $7 build your own grilled cheese and it was the bomb! The $7 comes with choice of cheese (up to 3 slices) a dipping sauce and a choice of homemade chips or French fries. I got 2 slices of American and 1 slice of cheddar with spicy mayo dipping sauce. I upgraded my sandwich with grilled onions $.50 extra and bacon $1.50 extra and upgraded for $2 more for the sweet potato fries. For a total of $11! It was worth every penny 😋

A group of 7 went on a Friday night. We put our name in at around 5:45 & had over a 40 minute wait (just mentioning this so you get there early if you don’t want to wait). We had seasonal cocktails & beers while we waited, & the jalapeño popper & cheese curd appetizers. They both were delicious & came with homemade ranch. We all had the fish fry with French fries, but I was the exception & had the salad for an up charge. What I love is that the salad was leafy greens with the normal toppings (croutons, tomatoes, red onion & cucumber). Also, I don’t know if it’s mentioned on the menu, but ketchup is an additional $.50. The coleslaw & tartar sauce are delicious & also made from scratch. The fish fry was lightly battered and not greasy either. I prefer a baked fish, but this didn’t make my mouth feel all greasy like other fish fry’s I’ve had. We definitely will be back here again. The bartenders and other staff were very friendly & welcoming. Great job!

We took our grandson here for dinner (on a Friday). The tables in the restaurant are spaced out perfectly. Not too far apart but gives us room to let our toddler grandson to walk around our table without disturbing other customers. The wait staff is friendly. The disappointment is the crispy chicken tenders tasted fishy. Our guess is that the restaurant is busy on a Friday fish fry night, same frying oil was used to fry the chicken as well. Overall, it is a very clean nice neighborhood restaurant. The rest room is equipped with a very clean changing table which I appreciate when I had to change my grandson’s diaper😉

Awesome food, great service, and a nice atmosphere! I ordered the chicken tenders, onion straws and jalapeño poppers and they all were incredible! I loved the food so much that I went back the following day for more chicken tenders and to try the cheese curds. They were delicious too. This place is gluten free heaven! My non-gluten-free coworkers loved the food as well.

I can't wait to return, such a treat to be able to eat gluten free fried foods!

We had time to kill between soccer games. Googled places nearby. This came up swung in. It was old bar in town that was completely remodeled even bathrooms. Drinks were good. Bartender nice. Best part was the food. Really good. We had pull apart curds, Italian beef, grilled cheese, and a cheeseburger. Fries fresh cut. Very next level bar food. Highly recommend. Shuffle board too.

Very nice! Relaxing experience. Jalapeño poppers and cheese curds the best! I don't think I've seen a whole ribeye steak sandwich, but they have it! Dang good, too!
My wife had the patty melt with hand cut fries. Amazing. Samantha at the bar was very nice, informative and a great host. Will be back!

If you're gluten free, this is your place. Everything out of their deep fryer is gluten free. We had the fish fry this past Friday night and it was excellent. Very busy but worth the wait. We returned the next night for deep fried cheese curds. They use GF beer for the batter. Celiacs rejoice! Thank you Archives.

The fish fry and fries were excellent. The coleslaw was so salty that it was inedible. I would have asked my server if that was normal but I barely saw her and when I made the mistake of asking a different server why it was taking 45 mins to get food, while people who got seated the same time as us were finished eating and leaving, she got pretty snippy. And I ended up with really salty coleslaw after Snippy dropped off our food. I’d love to eat here again but I’m really not too big on the staff. Maybe takeout till they do some retrains.
(I still tipped over 20% bc it wasn’t my servers fault that she works with someone unpleasant)

Horrible bar service on multiple occasions. Decent food, but make sure you get a table. We sat for over 30 minutes this evening, menus in hand, while the bartender looked at her phone 3 feet away from us. My wife asked if we could place an order, no response...still texting. Even after we asked to pay for our drinks it never occured to her as she removed our menus that she never bothered to take an order.

Fantastic!! We drove from Illinois for the Gluten Free options, since my wife has celiac and a GF menu this extensive is rare. The food was excellent, the service friendly & attentive, and the atmosphere is fun. We had the fried cheese curds to start, and WOW they are tasty. The burger was excellent, the onion rings were great. Totally worth the drive up to our new favorite restaurant in Burlington. Will definitely be back!!
