My girlfriend, mom and myself went for a casual Saturday lunch. Service was excellent I and my mom had the Philly Cheese steak that was excellent. Steak was juicy and flavorful with a great sautéed onion mixture. My girlfriend had the BLT. the bread was exquisitely toasted and bacon nice and crisp. Our waiter was also very attentive. I'll definitely be going back!

We had high hopes for Artisan 179 given its reputation and the beautiful lakefront setting, and the view truly was spectacular. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended.

From the start, the dining room was overrun with flies. At any given time there were at least five buzzing around us or landing on our table, food, and even on us. For a restaurant at this price point, that’s unacceptable and immediately took away from the experience.

We arrived around 3:30 PM, but were told dinner service didn’t start until 4:30. We decided to wait, but once we ordered, the food still took nearly an hour to come out. I even overheard our server in the back complaining about a dinner order that had been in for 45 minutes, which turned out to be ours.

When the food finally arrived, my thick-cut pork chop was excellent, perfectly cooked and flavorful, but it was obvious the sides had been plated far earlier and left to sit. The vegetables were cold and unappetizing, and the shoestring potatoes were stone cold.

Service was polite but disengaged. The servers avoided eye contact with me altogether and only addressed my wife, which felt awkward and dismissive.

Between the flies, the wait times, and the uneven service, this visit was a major disappointment. For the price, there are far better dining options in the area, I’d recommend taking your money elsewhere until they address these issues.

We came here with residents from a nursing home to enjoy the views of the lake, if any of you know the area there is not a lot of shaded handicap accessible areas, we found a patio area at this restaurant that wasnt even open yet so found a seat there. A worker came to the door and we explained that we wanted to sit there for just a short period of time (less than 30 minutes) she said it would he hard to serve us there because they couldn’t see us. We said thats fine we will come in and order something and come back out and we didnt need a full service. She said okay. Shortly later, she came back and said she talked to someone else and that we couldn’t sit there unless we were ordering something I said yes we will order something, she then said no EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE ORDERING SOMETHING or we couldn’t sit there because it was for their customers, mind u there was not a single customer there and they werent even open yet. I explained again that this was a group of disabled seniors and veterans that just wanted an area to sit and see the lake. They didnt care and told us we had to move. NEVER WILL I SUPPORT A BUSINESS THAT TREATS THE LESS FORTUNATE, VULNERABLE, SENIORS, and VETERAN POPULATION LIKE THIS AND YOU SHOULDNT EITHER!!!

Wow what a great experience. We came here for lunch and Gabby was our waitress, at the beginning I had mentioned we were having lunch for my husband’s birthday so he should order a drink. We had our food and did not want desert but Gabby brought out a happy birthday desert for him anyways. The little details, are so important when you are customer facing. Our family hosted a rehearsal dinner this past Friday evening at Artisan 179. If you have any kind of event upcoming... birthday, graduation, retirement, wedding, etc... you will not find a better event space than Artisan 179. We arranged this event from a distance. Call Katrina! She is the most amazing, wonderful and helpful person. She made everything perfect. We would not have been able to host such an event without her expertise. She could not have been more patient and kind. In addition, if your event includes the need for a bartender, we highly recommend Ryan. He is an outstanding bartender. We heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests about the food. The banquet menu is stacked with delicious options. Best wishes to our new friends at Artisan 179. When in the area, we will stopping by again.

Service was slow as they had one person working 6+ tables.

Main issue is the food from the lunch menu.

The dry seasoning on the parm fries was overbearing. Have the cooks try them prior to serving.

Grilled chicken served with a gauc pesto was overpowering and not edible. Again train or taste so they understand.

Lastly Philly was served with dried out nibblets of ribeye. This is not meant to be funny but Arby’s Philly taste better.

I’d recommend removing these $20+ lunch items from your menu or re-tool the flavor quality profile with the proper training to align with your pricing.

If I could give less stars I would. The overall atmosphere and aesthetic was pretty and clean.
We went there off a whim 5/10/25. The restaurant was not packed, had about half of the tables filled. My husband and myself sat down ordered our drinks and food at the same time. Drinks came out and we even got second drinks before our food was brought out. After 45 minutes of waiting for our food we told our waiter we just wanted the check because it was taking way too long. He let us know our food just came out.
I got the grilled chicken sandwich with the chicken and wild rice soup. Soup was luke warm and my bun was completely soggy and falling apart. My husband ordered the Philly sandwich with parm fries, those fries were horrid!!!!
10/10 would not recommend this restaurant.

This is my brother's favorite restaurant. We each tried new meals that were spectacular. The location is a main appeal: the view of the lake is gorgeous. The best dessert was seeing the beautiful sunset over it over dinner. I enjoyed the salmon, while others enjoyed the pasta and steak cuts. All was excellent.

Not going to lie here... the real reason I think this gets a 5 star is because of the chairs. Never experienced a restaurant with chairs like this. I don't even want to come here to eat... I just want to sit in the chairs. If I'm hungry though, I'll eat.

When we did sit down though... I don't know if It was a fresh wicked hit of parmesan or what... but I thought someone had evacuated themselves right on the floor of the restaurant. The odor was so obscenely strong, our entire table thought someone made a moon pie in their pants. I think it could have been the guy behind me though... I'll blame the cheese, as he had more parmesan than an Olive Garden server would legally be allowed to give you. Or perhaps it was masking his odor... I don't know.

Regardless... back to the chairs. The chairs are incredible. I didn't even mind sitting through that odor for about 20 minutes because the chairs made me feel so good.

Dishes are obscenely expensive though... but for Pewaukee boomers I'm not surprised. They will pay anything to not have to go 10 minutes away from their home. More power to the restaurant for this. I'm the same way though really. I drove 15 minutes from Elm Grove.

The Meatballs were good. The Smash Burger was good. $22 good though? Yes only because of the chair.

Definitely visit Artisan 179 for the chairs, and if you're hungry have some expensive food. You won't be disappointed unless there is a huge man behind you smoking you out of the restaurant with his parmesan.

The food was pretty good, although $11.00 for a medium-sized mixed green salad is high. The champagne vinaigrette was very good.
The cheese sandwich, soup, and drinks were also really good.
2 Sandwiches (with a side), 1 salad (with a side), a bowl of soup, and 3 old fashions with tips were $130.00. The drinks were $15 each, I paid the exact same price for an old fashion at the Capital Grill the night before. This isn't the Capital Grill......

I ordered the soup, turkey wrap, and fries. The soup was served lukewarm, but tasted good. The turkey wrap was very spicy even though the waitress said it was pretty mild; I had 5 bites. The fries were so over salted I couldn’t eat them.

I went here for homecoming dinner last month, and my experience was amazing. My boyfriend and two other couples made up our group, and we had a table on the second floor. The atmosphere was very comforting; it felt slightly rustic and the vibe is more formal. The staff and hostess were very kind and polite; our server (Mallory) was very considerate and gave us more time to decide on our dinner when we asked for it. The food was delicious, and the take home boxes are pretty creative; I haven't seen that type before! Overall, this place is excellent for occasions ranging from birthdays to dates! There were two of us, had 6:30 reservations on a Wednesday night. Got seated right away. The place was buzzing and there was a full house. We were seated along the front windows. The smaller tables are a little closer than I would pick, but our fellow diners had quiet conversations. There was also a musician playing near the door, but not too loud or distracting.

Our servers did a great job the entire evening with getting us drinks, food, and any else we needed. Thanks Mallory and Sofie for being personable and fun!

Got a couple of the Brown Mumblers, which are basically an Old Fashioned with a brown sugar cube and sweet soda. Which is very good!

We had the Bang Bang Shrimp of an Appetizer, Tortellini and Short Rib for our Entrees. Everything came out hot, flavorful and good portions. The Shrimp was cooked perfectly, nice and firm and flavorful. The Short Rib was tender and loved the addition of the Leek Bone Marrow Butter (seeing lots of Bone Marrow Butter in other restaurants).

The musician that they had play an excellent collection of classic rock, but in a more quiet, subtle style. Excellent choice for the evening.

My beet salad was more than dissatisfying. I have eaten here multiple times. They should call it an arugula salad. Tri colored beets were practically non-existent. Cucumber and radish slices were minimum and a mini version. I needed a magnifying glass to find.
NO goat cheese at all. Pistachios. Are you kidding? Barely a crumble on my plate. Dressing was good. Is the item Chef’s fault or owner’s? Not sure.
Overall, worse beet salad I ever had based on quality alone. This was $15.00.
My husband had a great turkey club with fries for $18.00. Something wrong here for value based on price. Only time I have been extremely disappointed in my food at this restaurant.

My fiance and I attend this restaurant on occasion for a date night. We've never had a poor experience! The food and service is always great. Our last visit really stood out, Jena H was our server and she was very professional and attentive. Unfortunately our food ticket got lost in the kitchen, but she didn't miss a beat! When we first began dating we were sitting at the bar in the restaurant and the owner Ted stopped by, and asked me if this was my lovely wife, I chuckled and said no this is one of our first nice dinner dates. Ted simply said if you ever get to wed this beautiful gal we have a nice private room. That stuck with me for over 3 years and when it came time to marry my new bride there was only one place it should take place. Katrina, Ted and staff we thank you so much for making our special day, even more special we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Did love this place then I learned that they started using seed oil soy as their frying oil.
Seed oils are one of, if not, the unhealthiest possible "food" (they aren't food, they're poison) one can ingest.
The apple crisp desert is awful, it tastes kind of alright but it's something I would expect at an inner-city McDonald's.
I go to Artisan so I don't have to eat corporate meals that were premade in a factory. But I guess that's not to be.

Came here for date night. Easy to make a reservation. First time trying Artisan 179. Decided to test my luck on the Intelligence Roll for a drink. Came out fantastic. But that wasn't even the best part. The Salmon was the best meal I've had in years and we eat out at high end places all the time. My wife's steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back.

Some say the third time's a charm, but I will be honest with you and tell you Artisan 179 had the charm and sparkle the second time around. If you read my previous post/ review, you'll know that the Valentine's Day experience wasn't the greatest. I never thought in a million years that this restaurant owner (Ted) would respond with such promptness and concern over making the situation right. Initially when I walked out of that restaurant ( on Valentine's Day) I had no intentions of ever going back. Ted changed both my mind and my perspective. He reached out to me the day after Valentine's Day and we chatted he was sincerely apologetic about what had happened and when I looked at it from his point of view; there was a bit of miscommunication. I didn't feel the need to be rude and make a scene that night because there were other patrons in the restaurant enjoying their meals. Ted thought that this meant everything was okay, which I get and I understand how it must have looked and felt to him. I returned to the restaurant last night Saturday the 2nd of March and was greeted by Ted and of course the wonderful Bryce as a server. The experience was a complete 180 when compared to Valentine's Day and I was in awe. At some point Ted sat down with me and we talked about everything that had happened and I could see that he's so sincere about customer service and so passionate about this restaurant that he has worked so hard to build that there wasn't a doubt in my mind this is a man who truly cares. His passion for the restaurant business is in his blood and when he moved over to Wisconsin after 9/11 and a lifetime living in New York (working in restaurants both there and here), this was the chance for him to offer a unique dining experience based on his vision. Bryce my server had told me that Ted gave him a chance to work there when he was 18 and now he was 21 and he couldn't have been more proud to have this amazing job he loves. I also met the chef who was very, very sweet, she actually apologized for the Valentine's Day meal and then produced the most amazing culinary journey of the evening. Ted's beautiful wife and friends were also at the restaurant that night having a girl's night and were very warm-hearted, their infectious laughter could be heard across the room ( you could tell they were really enjoying their evening together). Collectively as I looked around the restaurant and saw so many people smiling and enjoying the wonderful meals that were presented and the staff members that were so attentive to all their tables, this is truly a collaborative effort by a team that is a family. In business (especially the restaurant business) not everything can be perfect all the time, but when someone, (Ted) takes the time to rectify a situation and show you the difference; you can't help but to want to contribute to their business and help it grow. I will definitely be returning to the restaurant and bringing friends and clients there. I saw the excitement in Ted's eyes as he awaits summer and has a chance to open the outdoor seating and the extended seating that he's so joylessly shared with me as we talked. I also took some pictures of the amazing food of the evening including the wonderful cocktail that the bartender prepared. My wife and I had an early Valentines dinner last night. We were seated next to the fire place. John was our waiter and was very polite and kind. The restaurant is beautiful and has a nice warm atmosphere. The area the restaurant is also beautiful and inviting. The have a wide list of cocktails to choose from and the food was delicious. The charcuterie board was very good! Highly recommended. Had a wonderful evening will return.

Adding in dinner on New Year’s Eve for six at 5:30PM. Owner Ted was there to greet us, we had a fabulous meal, drinks and dessert before finally leaving at 8:00 PM. I even purchased one of the many paintings on the walls, and the artist was there working and kindly signed the piece! Never felt rushed, all questions answered and food from the roasted beet salad, lobster bisque, almond crusted chicken, Chilean Sea Bass, Salmon, and was spot on! Highly recommend the GF Deconstructed Apple crisp with toffee chunks! It does get a little loud and in close quarters but the view of the lake and the one man acoustic show add much to the ambiance. Thank you for a great start to 2024 and always a special evening!

Truffle fries were plentiful and so good! Philly cheesesteak and salmon (quality farm raised) entree are highly recommended. Only exception ever was one time around Black Friday 2023 lunch, beef was over cooked.

I cannot express the incredible service we experienced. We had originally planned to celebrate our anniversary the day after, but last minute, we decided to actually go out. I called ahead and made a reservation, then had to call again to adjust it to later. Artisan 179 were beyond accommodating and even put together an anniversary treat and card together to celebrate our day. It truly made our night for such a hectic time. Thank you! The service REALLY struggles here when things get busy. With reservations our table was overlooked for 20 minutes. I had to go talk to the hostess about having someone come to give us water and take drink orders. The server asked us if we were interested in putting in dessert orders before we finished our appetizer. Then 2 out of 3 people at our table's orders were brought out and allowed to cool before the server came to tell us there was a mix-up in the kitchen and would be a few more minutes to bring out the last dish. The server seemed to recognize how bad things were going, because he just kept apologizing and giving excuses, for ironically all the wrong things, and he avoided asking us how things were going or even tasted. This was a really disappointing visit here. I lament not taking my party somewhere else after having to wait at our table for so long initially.

We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner in their upstairs “Rhino Room”. It was one of the loveliest group dinners I have ever been a part of! Katrina was an absolute pleasure to plan this event with and she kept my bridal party happy and their cocktail glasses full :) The room was beautiful and every detail was planned with care. The food was expertly prepared and plated neatly. The view over Pewaukee lake is absolutely gorgeous! Needless to say, I recommend this restaurant for dates, family dinners, group events, and everything in between!

This place disappointed us. We ordered cocktails and the gnocchi as an appetizer, all of which were fantastic; things started off very strong. Then my husbands pork chop dish came out lukewarm (they microwaved it to heat it back up) and while my steak was hot, everything else on the plate was cold. My steak was also extremely over salted (it reminded me of Texas Roadhouse with how salty it was; prime steak doesn’t need that much salt). They remade mine, but it came out so late my husband was almost done eating his reheated food before I got mine. The server brought me soup (that I did not ask for or want) to hold me over while I waited. While I was eating my steak, the manager came over and said sorry but didn’t make eye contact with my husband or I, he just stared off into the distance and then walked away. I was interested in ordering dessert, but our server brought us the limoncello mousse as a “sorry for the cold food” before even asking us what dessert we’d even prefer. Neither I or my husband care for lemon (we are chocolate people) but ate a few bites as not to be rude. Nothing was taken off of the check. It was $182 before tip. I used to work in fine dining and I feel like management offering a round of drinks and a dessert of choice or taking off the appetizer and offering a free dessert of choice (and actually making eye contact with your customers) would have gone a long way instead of just bringing us food we didn’t even desire. I just can’t recommend this place when there are other places that deliver better service and food at a similar or lower price point.

Get here for amazing food. I could find some reasons our personal experience was not 5 stars, but it would be too snooty to take a star off for any of it. Get out yoir wallet and make it happen! I had the Filet and yes they nalied it. Cooked perfectly Medium Rare and some crazy oily thing in a moat around the plate. I thought it would be too 'wet' , but just made me kept trying each bite wondering why I liked it so much

Snooty negatives...my Dad, rest his soul, would have said it was too loud and the tables were on top of each other. However, I was not born in 1938 and therefore I had no problem. Our 24th Anniversary dinner conversation was just fine. We even had a fun conversation with two other tables about the real Santa Clause only 4 tables away. The whole restaraunt asked if they were naughty or nice on the way out.

We were rushed a tad. Waiter could not have been nicer, but seemed to be really be on top of moving us along. It was a Monday and we did knock out a charceuterie , two shared's, a dinner and a liquid dessert. Still they literally flashed the lights and there were like 16 people still there. Couple next next to us asked if it was for real to leave and chugged last sips of wine to scurry out. I have no idea if some bartender just leaned up against the switches by mistake.

View looked amazing if the weather allows outside dining and the front staff was friendly and inviting.

I wish I lived closer. I would love to go back as the homemade pasta was so tempting. There was a Bolognese with ground waygu, what planet am I on?

It's been a long time since I visited the Pewaukee Lake area, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to sample items from Artisan 179 on this visit.
I tried the spicy tempura cauliflower, the crispy artichokes, the "pistachio" shaped pasta as we called it, and the chocolate sachet dessert: A chocolate box filled with fruit and custard, incredible idea. All of my food was fantastic.
Our server checked with me to ensure all of my items were vegetarian, and as one of my companions has to adhere to the alpha gal diet, they also had everything prepared as required for that diet restriction.
We had a party of 6 and everyone had great meals, and deserts.
I love the view of the lake and the continuously changing groups of people just enjoying their evening out at the lakefront.

Our first visit for our Anniversary. We were seated in a corner next to a staging table which was used by servers and was VERY NOISY. There were plenty of other tables available and I am not sure why this one was chosen. It should be the last table seated!!! This location clouded our entire experience. We came here on our date night and I'm so glad we did! I ordered the Purple Haze craft Cocktail - highly recommend if you like good tequila and mezcal!

The bread was free and came with whipped butter... Was very good!

I ordered the Saffron White Wine Cavatelli with Wagyu meatballs. The pasta was delicious and al dante! The meatballs were good but I wouldn't say it was anything too special... Rather have chicken with this dish.

My husband ordered the wagyu smashburger mostly because we went to Hawaii and had part Japanese Wagyu burger that was amazing. This burger was one of the best you can get here, but Japanese Wagyu > American Wagyu.

I love Artisan 179, the overall atmosphere is fantastic and the food is even better, great spot for a nice dinner looking at the lake. Fabulous selection of wines to pair with any dish. Have had the opportunity to try multiple of their wonderful appetizers, and stopping for a quick lunch (Philly cheesesteak is amazing), and just recently stopped in for dinner where I got their gnocchi with steak as a protein. Big portion of steak for just an add on, and if I could eat that gnocchi and garlic cream sauce every day, I would. After having their truffle fries with garlic aioli, any other french fries just won’t be able to compare. This was an outstanding meal/dining experience and I am looking forward to stopping in again soon.

My wife and I stopped by for our anniversary and had a great time! We went a little later on a Saturday night and we’re able to easily get a table outside without reservations. The food was really good, my wife had a dairy restriction so she could only choose from a few things, but got the smash burger and loved it. I got the pork chop, which was excellent! The best part was our server, Ellie. She was very friendly and at the end of the night brought us some dairy free sorbet, which absolutely made my wife’s night! Will be back!

To begin, we did not have a terrible experience, but felt the need to highlight areas we thought could improve.
1.) This restaurant does not serve well for a romantic date. Semi-casual, close tables, loud. The price point, theme, service wants to be fancier, but the crowd and environment muffled that hope.
2.) We thought the menu items were well thought out. The execution of the dishes fell short and this detracted from the value of the price point. For $10, the soup du jour, cup portion, should have an element that shines, but came out okay.
Using my order as an example. The hanger steak had a good seared crust, salt level was excellent, temperature was accurate, but was maybe 6oz before it was cooked. Underwhelming portion size. Also, they bring a box of knives with different colored knife handles to choose for your steak. That was sort of fun, but then my steak came already cut up from the kitchen. So, I set that knife aside. Just seems like an execution error. Don’t give me a knife and then precut my steak. Brocollini was great. Came with truffle Parmesan fries. The Parmesan and truffle flavors were virtually non-existent and honestly the fries themselves tasted and felt like a cheap fry. They were limp, and the portion was very small. If ordered a la cart, that’s $8.
3.) I ordered a Hacker Pschorr. Came in a glass already, not sure if it was on tap or not? Usually it’s brought to the table and the server would pour it for you into a nice taller wheat beer glass, as most restaurants do. Just adds a little flare. The complaint I had overall was that the glass was not full, noticeably over an inch lower than a full glass. My wife’s IPA was poured well and not short. Not sure what happened there.
Lastly, and again, the experience was not terrible and this restaurant is worth a try. Hopefully, leaving this review can guide people on what to expect. Maybe I was there on an off night?

Was able to sit at a bar high top table. The server was one of the bartenders. She was extremely friendly and helpful. She gave her personal recommendations about food and was spot on. We ordered multiple appetizers for our trip one by one. The potstickers were the best I have had, and the sauce was perfect. The brussel sprout salad ate a touch dry, but it was still very good. The bread was brought to the table warm, and had an excellent cracker crust. Finally, the lobster lollipops. The sweet chili sauce overpowered the natural taste of the lobster. I wouldn't order them again, but they were still good. The drinks were very good as well: My Jam, and the Pineapple Coconut Dream.

Spectacular!!!! Went there for the first time tonight to celebrate our anniversary, and going in we had high expectations. Simply stated, Artisan 179 greatly exceeded all these expectations from their attention to details, the ambiance, the atmosphere (patio dining was a definite plus), the waitstaff service (shout out to Emily) and the excellent food. Beautiful Pewaukee beachfront location. The food was fantastic! I had the grilled cheese, truffle fries, and shared the appetizer dish of caramelized Brussels sprouts. What a disappointment, the food was great but for the price and the lack of service or should I say none not sure if it's worth the return with a 150$ and could barely get another drink not sure it's worth it, we sat with empty plates for well over 15 mins.

it is not worth the prices listed.
we thought we would get out with some of our retirement money so ordered just house wine. It was the cheapest tasting Cab and with the 20% tip cost us almost $30.

the first time we tried it last year we were asked to eat and leave in 15 min so the table outside woukd free up.
