Just left the establishment. Both bartenders not friendly, place was not busy at all. Waited for drinks way longer than should have. Food came out and was absolutely terrible. Shrimp Alfredo was cold, my one daughter pulled 2 pieces of hair out of hers, chicken quesadilla was cold, cheese curds were barely luke warm and very greasy. Ordered chips with the food, and it was basically the crumbs in the bottom of the bag. Not a very good first experience. Will probably not go back. I believe the 2 girls names were Emmy and Gina. We sat down at 4.30pm and did not get our food until around 6pm. They should have informed us that they we would be waiting due to a large group in the back. Fish Tacos were not the best. They should have had cole slaw Sriracha instead of lettuce and tortilla should been toasted. Prime Rib was good but no au juice unless you asked and could be warmer. Plus if you pay that much for dinner that salad bar should be free or at least get a side salad.

Let's start out by saying, the owner is already burnt out. Absolutely does not cater to the new. Focusing only on her regulars. I ordered 3 drinks and before I could even finish she already had walked away. Takes for ever for her to even care to wait on you. Her bartender should be the one who represents her. Business.

We attended for a luncheon put on by an outside entity. The food was excellent a very good steak all around very well done serving a large group.

We stopped at the bar to attempt to get a drink after the event. We sat for over 5 minutes watching as the bartender or it appeared to be the bartender stood looking at us and talking to someone else that was not even getting service and we never got even a high or I'll be with you in a minute. We never did get our drink and ended up walking out one of the poor services I've ever seen.

I have been here several times. Normally the food is pretty good. Today I ordered the cheese curds as usual with my kids. I took a bite and it was cold in the center. Not good! I immediately wanted the kids to stop eating them but apparently there were a couple that were ok as my teenagers said, “No, they are good!” But eventually they fell out too as they would take a bite into the cold ones and want no more of the cheese curds. My disappointment comes from the charging me half of the entree even though we clearly didn’t eat half. But because we did eat some of them we were charged. I think each of us had one good one and half of one bad one and I paid half the entree. To me that says you actually questioned me. So in that case I need to write a review. She knew what the issue was too when she came to the table. I would say I was disappointed with The Back 40 today. Not sure I will be visiting them again for awhile.

The food was excellent! Only gave 4 stars for service as there just wasn't enough staff to serve everyone promptly. The staff that was there did an excellent job under the circumstances. Seating in the bar area was a little awkward for dining purposes. Trying to find a table large enough for our family of 4 was a little difficult. The actual dining area was closed off due to a private party. Otherwise, nice place. I would go back again!

Worst fish we ever had Kim's fish was fried and it was tough and the portion of fish was tiny with a huge batter coating it was way overcooked and poor flavors the portion in one piece was backbone see picture

I had broiled fish sadly I had to use a knife to cut it it was hard and terribly over cooked

When we left I told the waitress and she said we cook a lot of fish in advance and put it in the oven to keep it warm. If I wanted that bad I would have gotten a package of frozen fish it was just awful thanks for ruining our date night it won't happen again

We were there for a family gathering for my Mother's 80th birthday that my Aunts and family did a spectacular job of arranging. The food was delicious and filling with delicious home style french fries that tasted just like I made them myself. I like cheese curds and these are definitely a winner! Melted chunks of cheddar deliciousness perfectly browned on the outside. They are a total delight for an appetizer to share with the table. Great burgers and chicken strips, as well as salads and fish. Very satisfied with service and will definitely be going again for a night out! Horrible just horrible! Stopped in on October 7th,2022 for the lunch special bluegill fish fry, only two other people in the bar, there was 4 of us ordered at the same time only one had something different. Waitress/ bartender kept asking over again what we ordered! Got 2 orders of fish while the other two never got served for quite a while. Fish was under cooked and the fries were burnt. She never came over to ask if everything was okay. After we were done eating what we could eat, we noticed on the glass I was drinking out of with a straw that lipstick was all over it 🤢 got home and was feeling ill for the rest of the day! Will not recommend!

Loved the atmosphere and food! It wasn't a "perfect" dining experience but it was the best me and my family have had in a long time! The prices were great, the service was good and friendly and the place was clean with a great vibe. Wife ordered the New York strip, she loved it and I had the fried cod dinner, which was the best I have had in a long time.
