First Impressions mean a lot! I just don't know... I think I'm going to have to go back ummm... At least five times in the next 3 months to decide if I like the place LOLOLOL. The flavors of all the smoked meats and the bbq sauces that are served with them are phenomenal!!! I've heard SO MUCH about Back draft BBQ at Gresham Lodge that I thought it was WAY past due to try the place out... It Does Not Disappoint!!! If you leave dissatisfied, it's your own damn fault! I would rank it as the top best BBQ that you can find in the North Woods of Wisconsin. The wait staff is VERY friendly and extremely accommodating. The drink options are awesome choices and are great standards for a Supper Club, but the atmosphere is SO Much More! Go check it out and be ready to be pleasantly surprised. OMG, the menu and food options are to die for and if you don't get at least three additional meals from your take-home containers then you are too much and your not going to be able to move from the tables. MAKE SURE YOU ENJOY THEIR (AGAIN) TO DIE FOR CHEESECAKE OR DESSERTS! You may just want to reserve some space for that. The Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake is a Killer!!! If they don't have any left you missed out...

We went two nights in a row! The first night was a Wednesday (menu is limited). My husband ordered the wings, and he declared they were the BEST he’s ever had! I ordered a cheeseburger; it was flavorful and done perfectly. Because I heard great things about the Bacon Blackberry Cheesecake Burger, I knew we had to return the next night (for the full menu). That burger was absolutely delicious! Don’t let the name fool you — the flavors work beautifully together. My husband ordered a full rack of ribs (he wanted leftovers) and they were equally delicious. I’ve never had french fries like these …. real potatoes cut and fried perfectly. The homemade cheesecake and apple strudel topped off a wonderful meal. Highly recommend!

Great restaurant tucked into the north woods of Wisconsin. Friendly owners Elana and Paul. Our server CJ was outstanding. Our group had clam chowder, the all you can eat fish and wings. Everything was delicious! The wings come seasoned without sauce, several sauces are provided at the table which are very good. But we found that the wings were excellent without sauce! The cheesecakes are excellent as well, all are home made by the owner Elana. She makes an excellent Old Fashioned as well! Definitely will be back!

Best BBQ we’ve ever had. Went on a Saturday kind of late ish and boy were we surprised. We both had the loaded Mac n cheese topped with brisket and a big slice of corn bread and when we had our first bites we said after 35 years in minocqua this simple meal is one of the best we’ve ever had. Service and atmosphere were spot on. Met both owners they could not have been nicer or more appreciative of us coming in and having dinner with them at 8 pm on a Saturday night. We will be back weekly it was so good. People at a table behind us had the BBQ sample that consisted of ribs, pulled pork and Brisket and the portions were huge and I know what my wife and I are splitting next time they also have all you can eat ribs or fish on Friday nights. 😳
Please give this place a try as you won’t regret it. I ended up also buying a bottle of there spicy BBQ sauce. 😋

Great service. Great cocktails. Normally I’m a meat falls off the bone rib guy, which these were not, but they were so tasty and tender. Each rib was like a good pork chop. A half rack was plenty. Another guest had the sampler plater and the wings were good. The brisket was outstanding. Another person had the gnocchi which was also very good.

Just had dinner there this last night. The staff is friendly and prompt, very comfortable setting, super nice to have a fish fry with nice tableware. I had the all you can eat fish. Also had a side order or apples and peaches, which was awesome, a bowl of clam chowder, and the best fries I ever had. I will return most definitely to try out the ribs, and pulled pork!! Great job ladies, this is a wonderful experience and nice atmosphere!!

Three of us had dinner here tonight ..I had the Bacon Blackberry Cheesecake Burger..it was amazing!!! The other entrees were the Apricot Habanero Burger and Loaded Mac and Cheese with Beef Brisket..the fries were perfectly seasoned and the coleslaw was very good. This was our first time visiting since the owner change. We were greeted before we even got into the restaurant by the chef! Everyone was very friendly and personable. Our food was brought out very timely. We ordered a sample platter, fish sandwich, and half rack of ribs. All entrees came with a side and fries. Everything was very flavorful and fresh. We were so full and wanted dessert which they packed up nicely for us to-go. We are definitely coming back and would highly recommend!! Come hungry!!

Great place to relax by the fire after hiking the Trout Lake Trail. Clean and attentive service. Relaxing atmosphere with nice music and friendly service and guests. So happy to have discovered this gem! Started my dinner with a dessert appetizer of Break Pudding with a Whiskey Cream Sauce. Absolutely delicious! And a Chili Starter that was tangy with some heat. Perfect beginnings to the Filet on Tostini with Parmesan Cream Sauce. I ate that faster than a photo!

Let me say first that I rarely write a bad review. I like promoting restaurants up north. I understand and can appreciate a bad night. It takes a really bad meal for me to write something.

I went here with guests for Friday night Fish Fry. We were excited to try it. We were extremely disappointed. I dislike rye bread immensely and it was the best thing I tasted there.

The Shark Bites appetizer was fishy and the sour chemically mango dip was gross.

The fish fry was tough and fishy. The clam chowder was watery. The burger was dry.

For over $20 for the fish fry wasn't even close to worth it. I had two small pieces and left nearly one whole piece. It might be all you can eat, but you won't want to.

I liked the location, the new chairs and tables and atmosphere. The staff was friendly. That's all the positives that I can muster.

I wish them well but we won't be back unless something changes.

Didn’t even offer a new serving even though it was all you could eat!! I paid the bill in full but I won’t be back after have an owner Not really care about customer service!! Walked on over from the cabin I'm renting here on the Lodge & their ribs are phenomenal! Excellent full flavor. Super friendly bartender/ server. My wife and I arrived 15 minutes past their serving times. The new owners went out of their way in my eyes to serve us some fish and ribs. Well, it was awesome and can't wait to get back there. I told them it would be the following weekend but our busy schedules have kept us away.

I had rented Cabin 2 in June and it was very clean and neat. Nothing was dirty and no spider webs either. I used the heater as it was chilly outside. All appliances were in excellent condition. Can’t wait to come again.

I spent quality time as a child up in Northern Wisconsin and always left feeling like I wanted to stay forever. Unfortunately Pope's Lodge has changed the way I look at the Northern Wisconsin area as an adult. The two owners showed zero respect for the customers spending a TON of money to spend a week in an extremely run-down cabin. Had we known what we were getting into at Pope's there is no way we would have decided to stay there. There are so many options out in Northern Wisconsin, don't waste your time or money on this dump. Thanks for nothing Pope's Lodge. Wish there was a zero star rating!

If you want good service, don't bother going here! We arrived and put your name on the list. After our first drink (30 minutes) we asked what number in line we were for a table, we were told the bartender did not know. So we hung out a bit longer and at the 1 hour mark we got another drink and asked what number we were now. Quoting the bartender "If I have to go back there to find out what number you are I can't serve drinks". Well, ok, sorry to inconvenience you by showing up here to eat! So I asked the waitress what number we were, and she told me she had no clue. Who is running this place? Obviously not the staff! We finally got a table at 1 hour and 25 minutes. My problem is not that we had to wait, it was that no one had a clue what was going on and they were giving us attitude for coming here and bothering them.
After we were seated the food was decent, but not worth a 1 hour 25 minute wait.
