Stopped by Backroads Deli in Fish Creek and it was a great find! I had the Turkey Bacon Sub and it was absolutely delicious — fresh bread, plenty of turkey, crispy bacon, and all the toppings were super fresh and flavorful. You can tell they care about quality here. The staff was friendly and the service was quick, even though it was busy. It’s the perfect spot to grab a great sandwich before exploring Door County. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

I can’t say enough good things about Backroads Deli! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell the staff genuinely cares about making sure every guest has a great experience.

The food was absolutely amazing, but what really stood out was the Italian Beef sandwich! I can honestly say this one is right up there with the best of them. Perfectly seasoned, tender, and loaded with flavor—it felt like a little slice of Chicago right here.

What a great spot. Colorful place right on Hwy 42. We were attended to someone who I think is the owner and was also making the food. She was so nice and accommodating with our dietary requests, basically adapting one of their sandwiches on the fly into a low carb meal which is so difficult to find in Door County. Food came out fast. They have a pretty big menu of cold, hot, and panini style sandwiches and salads and a soup of the day and it all looks good. We liked our turkey bacon club and Chicago dog. We will be back, thanks!

We were on the way to our segway tour which ended up being in the same parking lot!

Every part of our meal was wonderful! The wraps and sandwiches were fresh and tasted incredible! The noodle salad and potato salad were just as good!

Brought my kids here after a morning of mountain biking. They had the Jimbo, and I had the Bada Bing. Bada Bing was great, but the Jimbo is off the charts good. Hidden gem! Located right next to the Segway Tours, near the high school. Delicious food (pictured is a tuna salad sub & chef's salad), kind & competent service, and a touch of home. What an excellent sandwich we had from here!! Nice friendly staff!! Couple raising a toddler while trying to run a business at the same time!! The sandwich was huge,fresh,tasty and would give any chain sub shop a run for their money!! I cannot brag enough how tasty and fresh this sandwich was!! We heard great things about this place, so when my friends and I planned a girls day in Door County, we decided to stop here for lunch around noon. There were only about 5 or 6 people in line, and there were 2 employees working, so didn’t seem like it should take that long.
It was over half an hour before the first person in our group was able to order, and at least half an hour more before the sandwich was ready. Everything was delicious, but we chose a deli because we figured it would be quick and we wouldn’t have to spend the whole middle of the day at a sit down restaurant, but I think this actually took longer.
I enjoyed my DC Club on gluten free bread, my sister in law liked her What a Chick sandwich, a great vegan option, and our friend’s Antipasto salad looked amazing. Great food, if you have the time to kill. Sitting in the garden was a lovely place to wait at least

Coming from Sol Grass on Washington Island. This Deli is worth the stop if you are in Door County and had the Anna Pat sandwich. It was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Had a Bacon Cuban today from Pat. The sandwich was delicious and the potato salad for the side was pretty solid. Pat’s got a fun sense of humor, she does a great job. It is a smaller place, so if you stop in at peak lunch time, be patient or enjoy the surrounding shops until it dies down a little. Highly recommend Backroads.

I loved it! There was only one person working when my family and I brought a group of about 18, and the woman who took our order and made our food was very sweet. Delicious sandwiches and the kids loved their fun buckets.

Best sandwich shop period. Stopped in with my kids at 5:40pm on Friday desperate for food in Door County that wasn’t overpriced and fried. Stopped in for a quick bite with my 6mo son. The owners were very friendly and even offered to hold my boy so I could finish eating my delicious sandwich. I had ordered the Sagan Sicilian which has pepperoni, salami, lemon basil ricotta, roasted red peppers, giardiniara, and balsamic glaze (then pressed). I did not realize it was missing the giardiniara until one of the owners told me it was missing but it was delicious nonetheless. Fact of the matter is, this a great family owned/operated business that serves very tasty sandwiches.
