The potential is there but the food was average at best. Omelette was pretty horrible cookies are pretty junk honestly too. Their soy chai latte was great though. Bagels were fine nothing special. I ordered a sandwich once and they put the wrong mustard on and didn't offer to make me another sandwich which was pretty lame too. The place next store is higher quality.

I have mixed feelings about this place. We've come several times. The egg and cheese bagel is great! We want to love the vegan desserts, but they are so heavy ( the cake and the icing). The vegan banana chocolate chip muffin is so dense it could be sold as a bread. The staff are friendly and efficient, but asking for tips is not appropriate. You stand to order, pour your own drip coffee, and bus your own table. They do bring the food to your table, but the tables are rarely clean.

Great spot, with good service, however, they seem to consistently sell out of Everything and Asiago bagels by 10am.
If theyre open until 3 pm daily, yet always sell out just 3 hours into their 8 hour day of service, it begs the question, why not just make more?

Update 1/12/25 Just not the same as when I first started going there. Spent a LOT of money over the years there, Service and atmosphere has deteriorated in my view
Old Review: Picked this place to meet a vendor for a new Cabinet business I am opening across the street and was pleased with the atmosphere. Ordered some breakfast with a bagel. Food and service was great. Used this place again for another meeting with another vendor - same positive experience. I have a feeling this place will be a regular for me when I am in Beloit.

Bagels and More is a charming little shop that exceeded our expectations! Their selection of homemade breads is impressive, with everything tasting incredibly fresh. The lavender lemonade was a standout—light, refreshing, and perfect for a sunny day. We also tried a made-to-order sandwich, which was packed with flavor, generously portioned, and ideal for sharing. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the experience even better. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

A very positive surprise. Their veggie omelette is one of the best I had - and I had many around the globe. Vegetables are crispy, not drowning in cheese. Flat white was also to my taste. Highly recommended and I’ll be back (to take the picture of the meal that I was too hungry to do today).

Waited in line and moved forward, was completely ignored by three staff members, who then took two customers after us. When they realized we hadn’t been helped, we were told to go to the back of the line and start over. Love the bagels, the customer service needs some work. We opted to leave and get coffee and Bushel and Peck instead.

This is a place which is likely to appeal to only a certain sensibility, but I happen to harbor one. It's very simple. The baked goods are tasty, but if you need a lot of handling to get what you want or of a bagel, expect to do that work yourself. A plain bagel, toasted with butter and a cup of black coffee sure me just fine, and $5 and change seems a fair price these days. You have to toast and butter it yourself, and the coffee you have to pour yourself as well, but again, this suits me fine.
I can imagine a lot of folks not liking this, but I suspect the problem lies with their expectations and not with this shop. The walls are festooned with art from Beloit Art Center. The works are competent, but showing the prices they are asking for makes it feel a little pretentious. We're one inclined to spend the piece of a midsized sedan on something to hang on the wall, they might prefer it not smell like a coffee shop.
If your goal is simple, comfortable, interesting, and inexpensive, don't pass this up.

Got the country breakfast with a cinnamon/hazelnut coffee.
The food tasted like it came off a buffet line. Gravy was alright, the biscuit it was on was gritty and dry. The scrambled eggs certainly came out of one of those pre-mixed possibly frozen egg-cartons you pour them out of, and the potatoes were alright I guess. The coffee was watered down and I could only sip like 10% of the entire thing.
But somehow it didn't stop others from going in; The place was packed during the Saturday Farmer's Market.

Worst experience I've ever had here. First, the girl taking my order was rude and super dismissive. Though I was standing directly in front of her, speaking directly to her, with no one else in line, I had to repeat my order 4x to her. Then when it came time to pay, she got a bigger attitude when I tried to use my points towards the purchase. The food, when received, looked as tho it was literally thrown in the container. The 2nd girl working brought it out. Placed it on the counter and slid it in my direction. She asked if I needed anything else.. I said utensils and a bag. She, again, threw the container in a bag, not even placing it at the bottom, just sideways in the bag, and then threw a knife in the bag.. no forks, spoons, or anything useful to eat with. Extremely disappointed in today's visit.

Came too late in the day and could not try most menu items as they could not use the oven. The bagel we had was underwhelming but I have to cut some slack because it would have been more tasty heated. Matcha brownie did not taste like matcha. Overall, Bagels and More is run more like a college campus restaurant. Despite this, it should appeal to those who are health conscious or have dietary restrictions. I stopped in for a bite last week. Not much has changed since my last visit around 9 months or so ago. The bagels and breakfast (served all day) are pretty good. I skipped the coffee this time. I've found that shops that use Torani don't necessarily understand good coffee. I'm a sandwich and breakfast fan, so I'll return.

They have gluten-free bagels and a few gluten-free and vegan muffins.
I had the spinach quiche it was very small slice and delicious. If you like spinach this is the quiche for you it is loaded with spinach and minimal cheese with a soft crust.
The cinnamon was incredible! I would go there again just for this.
The breakfast burrito was very underwhelming. It has no spices and didn't feel well put together.
The millet gluten-free bagel egg sandwich was delicious. We'd recommend this.

We had the pleasure of working with Bagels & More twice for catering breakfasts on our wedding weekend, once for breakfast for our wedding party on the day of, and again catering for about 70 people for a brunch the day after. They were so helpful and professional and all the food was excellent! The Vegan Tofu Scramble and cinnamon rolls were some of our favorites. They helped work with us to make sure we had delicious options for our vegan and gluten-free guests too. We would definitely recommend them for catering any event.

David, I am disappointed in your response to my review. Since I am not able to respond directly to yours, another review will suffice. Rather than addressing my actual concerns (there only being one slice of meat on my sandwich), you instead deflected to other other less meaningful or irrelevant things. Please note that your passive aggressive response to the menu cost was not lost on me, and since you apparently feel it is appropriate to split hairs, I will go ahead and do that with you. I think we are both clear on what the menu cost of the sandwich is. But there's tax on that, right? There's also an expected tip - as evidenced by the strategically placed tip jar next to the register as well as the prompts on the register - right? With both of those, the actual consumer valuation of the sandwich is $10+. Also, like most people, I leave the store with something in addition; a bagel, a desert, or a coffee, etc so it's often more than that. Hopefully we're both clear on what was meant to prevent any further confusion. Regardless, I am not interested in paying $8.50 or $10+ for two slices of bread. If I order a turkey sandwich, I expect there to be more than one folded over slice of turkey and I think most patrons would expect this as well. If I wanted to fill up on strictly carbs for lunch, I would drink a beer or eat a muffin.
Additionally, you and I appear to have different definitions on what "complimentary" actually means. To me, complimentary means there is no cost associated, i.e. - "gift," "on the house," "no strings," however, since you referenced the pickle and the cookie (when I clearly did not) that insinuates that you think there is value added to the sandwich because those things accompany it. I guess that's not really "complimentary" then is it? While I do appreciate getting those, and know that there is a cost to making them (approximating $.20 for the mass produced cookie and $.25 for the pickle likely bought in bulk, they are still appreciated nonetheless. As much as I enjoy the "complimentary" sides that accompany the sandwich, when I order a protein sandwich, I expect there to be protein on it. Hopefully I've underscored this enough to get the point across.
What is most disheartening is that you were offered the opportunity to correct a situation that would have likely resulted in me removing my review by simply saying "sorry you were not happy with the way your sandwich was made, please give us an opportunity to remake that for you" and you would have continued to retain a consumer of over TEN years. Because you chose to be passive aggressive, deflective, and defensive, that is no longer something I'm interested in. I also don't know what "other concerns" you were referencing in your response, as all concerns were addressed in my review. And for what it's worth, I neither live in Beloit nor work in Beloit. I have went out of my way, multiple times, specifically to patronize your establishment. I can see now how much that is appreciated.
It is my sincere hope that you take a portion of the exorbitant profits you are making on selling bread sandwiches and put that towards a Business 101 class on how to maintain consumer retention as well as effectively navigate conflict resolution; unless you feel your business is built up enough where integrity and consumer satisfaction are no longer of importance to you.

0/10 would not recommend. Unorganized chaos. Stopped here for coffee. There was a line for sandwiches, bagels, eggs and heard many customers placing orders. Since I wanted coffee walked up to the line by the register for the batista to make a coffee. Above the register is a display showing the special coffees they are offering for fall. We waited patiently for it to be our turn. The cashier was making coffee, so I was thinking we would be next. Many people around us their breakfast or pick up order was done and they were checking out. We even had a man cut us off and they helped him. A young gal from the back came up to tell us that we needed to wait in the other line in the back of the store. Never asking what we wanted. If that is the case that coffee orders need to wait in the breakfast line this should be posted on the front that all orders need to be placed here. Why would I order coffee with the lady that has the sandwich sign when I am not ordering breakfast. The staff was incredibly rude and unwilling to help. We left without coffee and took my money to Starbucks. They are more willing to make a hot cup of coffee and I'm sure it tastes better too! I love Beliot but will never return to bagels and more.

We stopped in today for coffee and stood in line for over 15 minutes, when all the people in front of us were served the person at the register started making coffee's. We waited for her to finish and thought she was going to wait on us. She didn't, she went to do who knows what. Another person moved to the register and told us we had to go to the end of the line. We told her we were the next in line and that we had been standing in line for quite some time. She ignored us so we left. What terrible service. She never asked what we wanted, she wasn't even polite about it. We came from out of town. Will never return to that place.

Food is good just a little pricey, customer service is maybe the worst I’ve seen especially for pick ups, no one will even look at you or ask how they can help… very confused work staff

Fast friendly service, some of the best bagels outside of NYC that you can get in this area, had the iced vanilla lavender latte too and it was yum! Not too floral just right 👌

We have been going down to Bagels & More for many years for various meetings. The food is great and the atmosphere is nice. Some of the coffee drinks are the best I’ve ever had.
The downside is that it is very loud and that makes it hard to communicate. I wish they would add some acoustic panels or foam on the ceiling to muffle some of the noise.

Good bagel. But too much do it yourself. Toast your own, get your own coffee, etc.

Locally owned shop that's been open for 25+ years. I recommend hitting them up on Friday or Saturday. When I went in Monday morning they're stock was very depleted from weekend sales

Bagels were just fine when I purchased them for my consumption. Seemed just as good as any bagel store, such as Einstein Bros., in Madison. Great if you're in Rock County and don't want to head all the way up to Madison for bagels, and interesting artwork selection as well!

Delicious. I had the onion bagel, tofu scramble and gingerbread latte. My husband had a build your own turkey sandwich on an Asiago bagel. We also took home a slice of pumpkin bread and a slice of blueberry zucchini bread. Both were lovely.

A great B-fast destination. Order in-line and they deliver to your table. You toast your own bread; make sure to run it through the toaster twice if you like color on your toast. The fresh breads are wonderful to take home. Keep in the fridge to extend the loaves life!

Over priced and the quality has gone down hill since first opening. Under staffed and confused with their orders. All pastries and bread are delicious. The beef stew was too spicy for my liking. Too much garlic.
