I've eaten at the Banzo food cart many times, but this was my first time trying the actual restaurant. Despite being at the actual restaurant, what did I order? The same thing I always get at the food cart. The Banzo Pita Sandwich. It's a Pita filled with hummus, chopped salad, and falafel. I think their hummus and falafel are among the best and this was true of the restaurant also. It does feel a little pricey for what you get but it's so delicious it is worth it. At the restaurant, you order at the counter and then they bring it out to you. There are several small rooms with tables to eat at. The bathrooms are clean. This is definitely the place to go for hummus or falafel.

I have lived in this area for 20 years & somehow just found out about this restaurant. Genuinely, it's sooo good. When simple ingredients, healthy choices, and clean eating are important to your preferences they do it so well here. The carrots & cauliflower were perfectly seasoned and
al dente, the hummus was smooth and delicious. The handcut french fries were also a great treat to tie it all together. The sangria was also very good. It was nice to see some eco friendly practices in place for serving. Thank you Banzo staff for all you do!

We used Banzo as our caterer for our wedding (Madison – May 2025). Their event coordinater was organized and easy to communicate with, which made planning stress free. Banzo's catering staff was professional and kind on wedding day.

Most importantly, the food is delicious! Even with a guest count of 130-135 people, Banzo crushed it. We had multiple guests comment how much they enjoyed the food. Thank you, Banzo!

My wife and I travel frequently and every time we go to a new town we are always on the hunt for the best food options on yelp. The other night we found Banzo and decided to give it a shot. We're usually hesitant to try new Mediterranean because we have a few favorite restaurants that have set the bar high for all the others. That said, Banzo was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We ordered several sides; an f-bomb; and falafel pita and everything was just perfect!

Driving home, we couldn't stop exclaiming to one another how impressed we were with the food quality and flavors as well as the overall dining experience!

This place is a hidden gem- don't walk- RUN to Banzo's. You won't regret it!

We will definitely be returning (weekly, if we can)!

We were passing through Madison and decided to stop here for lunch. The place seemed like was rated fairly good, so wanted to give it a try. Bad idea. I'm not sure what I ate, but it tasted really weird. I was super hungry,  so I forced myself to eat some, but then regretted it. The hummus tasted funny, like it was old or something, and I'm not even sure they use real meat on their menu. Did not taste like real meat, for sure. Just a heads up, if you love mediteranean food, this place isn't it.

Bland & pricey Mediterranean food with very less potion size. You have to pay for pita and hummus as a side! It's not complementary. That's a first. The hummus was dry and it was missing olive oil. We had tried Banzo's food a few years ago on one of the Food+Music fests on the Capitol square. It used to be pretty good. We thought we would have the same experience again when we went there last month. We were craving for some good Mediterranean food. Madison seriously lacks even a good halal food truck. A serious business opportunity if you ask me especially with the students and the growing number of working professionals in the area. So, we ordered the shawarma bowls. Sorry to say we were thoroughly disappointed. The food was very bland. It seriously lacked flavor and aroma. The rice did not even have any color to it. Heck even the sauces were ordinary. And please don't get me started on the portion size. It was barely filing. I guess it helped in a way because the food was as uninteresting as it gets. The platter did not even have pita hummus. You have to order them separately. Also, I have never had such dry hummus. Looks like someone drained the life (read olive oil) out of it. The only saving grace were the falafels. They tasted the same as before. Not going there again.
P.S.: Before I forget, please don't order their roasted cauliflower whatever dish. Absolute rip-off.

I had to give my warning out to people.

This place is not authentic middle eastern food. It tastes bland and unseasoned and I was highly disappointed. When I did my research I realized that it is- in fact not owned by middle eastern people. Makes sense now.

The atmosphere is very casual and be aware that there is no formal seating. It's walk in, walk to counter, order and self serve seating, hit or miss whether there is space for you. Also no one explains this to you when you arrive. Their pay screen is set to a default of 20% for a tip even though you're not actually getting any service. We sat outside and when we were done with our food I gathered all of our dirty dishes and put them inside the bag our food came in. When the woman busing tables walked by our table I handed that bag to her for disposal and she seemed put off by this. Not exactly a service oriented experience for a $70 lunch.

Fantastic and iconic food. Phenomenal falafel, chicken, hummus, pita, etc. They are also one of the best caterers in the area for lunch or business events. They have ample parking in a parking lot, and a nice patio, but it can be difficult to find seating. The restaurant is an old converted house with limited seating and many stairs.
