We waited about 20 minutes on a Thursday night for anyone to take an order. Server was distracted, didn’t explain what cheeses were on the charcuterie board or details about the wine flight. Burrata flatbread was good minus the undercooked flatbread. Was doughy, white, not crispy, and when you picked up a piece everything fell off because it was so underbaked. Neighboring table had the same thing so it was t a fluke. Highly underwhelming.

Used to be one of our favorite places to sit and watch the water while enjoying a good meal and a drink. Visited a couple of weeks ago and service was horrible, lost our order, then tried to lie to us and say something was "messed up" on my order. To top it all off, they finally bring my food and it's ICE COLD! The server then stops in the hallway leading to the kitchen and another sever mimes spitting in the food! We will never be back here. The server then acted like she was doing us a favor for not charging us for that meal that we never accepted. Hah!

This is a great place to go for a date or if you would like to just relax and try a variety of wines or drinks. The food is also great. Not necessarily full meals but more plates to share.
One caveat is that their schedules for a bit of time was a bit confusing and I would recommend calling or checking their website before going. Since the food is so fresh, some of their dishes are sometimes unavailable.

Went here for lunch and was extremely disappointed. We ordered crab cake sliders and a rice bowl, it took about an hour to get. My drink was empty and they never asked if I wanted another. The rice bowl was so salty it was inedible. If it didn’t take an hour to get, I would have sent back. This was a Monday lunch time and beware it’ll take forever.

Atmosphere was good. Took 15 minutes for a waiter to come to our table. Didn't come back at all after our drinks were delivered...had to ask another server for our bill. It was a windy day and we were sitting outside....umbrella ended up coming loose and flying up-spilled a bunch of drinks and hit one of our group in the face. We wanted to love this place, it was awful. It too FOREVER to get our food over an hour. Our waitress never came back. Octopus was super tough. They never brought our soup but charged us for it. They were put of shrimp and it took over an hour to get cold lobster rolls. Would NOT RECOMMEND!

My wife and I went here for her Birthday on 7/18/25 and we had a wonderful dining experience. The food was excellent. The escargot were absolutely amazing and the Lobster Roll....fuggitaboutit!! Fantastic.
A special thank you to the staff for bringing a piece of the Limoncello Marscapone Cake for my wife's birthday. We will definitely be back!!

Cute, comfy, friendly bistro with a great variety menu, outdoor patio, location across from the beach. All of our drinks and dishes were tasty. For Fathers Day I had the steak sandwich and it was very small like 4 oz's small.
Asked for steak sauce and they said we have none. It had a dap of pesto sause and the meat had some gristle.Very disappointing but I said nothing as they were so busy. Service was ok and the restaurant has a good location across from the lake. The bathroom was filthy on my visit. The salmon plate had some cheap cream cheese on it but other than that the drinks were good. Sorry but would not go back. Another visit to Lake Geneva and another poor to average food visit.
If ya want ice cream L.G. has about 7 different places and great for the kids and the area has a nice beach. The lake had a smell to it...fyi.

False advertising, no integrity, zero accountability, and disrespectful management : We went to Barrique after seeing their website advertise half-off appetizers — it was clearly listed and directly influenced our decision to go. When we received the check, we noticed the discount wasn’t applied and asked for it to be corrected.

Our server checked with her manager and came back saying the promotion couldn’t be honored because the website was “out of date.” We then asked to speak with the manager directly. She told us the website hadn’t been updated in two weeks and claimed they were waiting on IT to make changes in a really condescending tone.

While we were still there waiting to pay, she updated the website herself — despite telling us it would require IT and take time. It was changed in just a few minutes, right in front of us (screenshots below of before and after the website update with timestamps).

How were we supposed to know their site was out of date? That’s not the customer’s fault. Instead of making it right, the manager doubled down and offered no apology or solution. The server did their best, but the management’s handling of the situation was disappointing and dishonest.

We expected better. Unfortunately, this left a bad taste in our mouths — and not from the food. Atmosphere isn’t enough when honesty and customer respect are missing. Won’t be coming back.

we had a group of 3 people, and im not sure if it’s because we are all younger that the service was so poor but i come here pretty often, i love the food and have never had anything bad to say. after today i will never be returning. we waited 10 mins for a table i received a call that the table was ready at 2:53 so we walked backed over there and got seated around 3:05 which happy hour is from 3-5 there. me and my friends ordered sangria which is on their happy hour and some apps. it took the server about 15 mins to even approach us after getting seated. drinks another 10. food was fairly quick. once the food was dropped off we were never checked on again. we sat for another 25 ish mins waiting cuz we wanted more bread, he never came. so we found the host and asked for the check right after. we then realized we got charged normal price for sangria which it’s whatever it’s an extra three dollars but it was happy hour so we ended up asking about it. they then sent the manager over to argue with us that we didn’t sit down at 3 and that we aren’t eligible for happy hour. i had a phone call to prove but we were all absolutely in shock. it then took another 20 mins for 4 pieces of bread that we got charged two dollars for. i am in the restaurant industry and i understand a lot of things but this was one of the worst experiences ive ever had at a restaurant and the worst service i have ever received. will not be returning.

Very sweet restaurant with great drinks and excellent food. My husband had the crab cake sliders with beer cheese soup. I had the barrata flatbread. Both meals were excellent and the service was perfection! We rarely have dessert but we had the chocolate mousse and lemon mascarpone cake. Incredible and worth every calorie. I made a solo visit to Barrique while at a nearby resort craving good seafood. One peek at the menu and I was quickly on my way! I was shocked when walking up, all the other restaurants seemed too busy for anyone, but this one was right on the corner with doors wide open. I feel bad for those that had to wait for and miss out on the great experience ready at this Bistro! The bartender, Vita, welcomed me in, got the bottle of wine I requested, and immediately put in my food order then brought out my soup right after. As stated on the menu, this is not a fast food chain, so the food takes a little longer when cooked fresh, but it is well worth the wait. The Escargot came out pipping hot and was so delicious. I then ordered the crab cake sliders which were actually made with real crab and were so very delicious alongside my chips. I was shocked by the quality of these items as the menu prices were very reasonable! I'd like to thank Barrique, Vita, and her colleagues for welcoming me in and providing such great services and holding such amazing conversation. Thank you!

On the morning of Sunday September 29th, my daughter and I decided to head to Lake Geneva for the day. We were walking around town and started getting hungry. Barrique looked inviting and we decided to give it a try. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside and had a nice view of the Lake.

We split a flatbread which came with Burrata, tomatoes, pesto, and a drizzle of balsamic. It was very good. Service was friendly and prices are reasonable. If you are in town, you might want to give Barrique a try.

This is the first time I have had this bad of an experience at a restaurant. I called ahead to make sure children were allowed but then I felt so uncomfortable the whole time from hearing people talk about my child and also the waitress being incredibly rude. Not once were we asked if we needed anything or checked on. I’m incredibly disappointed and wish I didn’t waste my money here. If you have children do not bring them here they are not welcome.

Came in for the first time for my birthday dinner on Sunday night. Service was abismal. Our waiter took 25 minutes to take our drink order and bring them out. It took even longer to bring out appetizers. We passed on ordering entrees as we saw how slow service was in the beginning. The food was amazing but the service was terrible. Our waiter was MIA the entirety of our visit and when he was talking to another table out on the patio, he proceeded to scratch his behind while taking their order. My partner and I were alarmed that he was serving people food without following proper sanitary practices. We paid for our meal and as we were about to leave, the waiter and who I assume was the manager came out to complain about that tip that was left for the service. It was a disappointing, terrible experience.

One of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. They were short staffed or the staff they had couldn’t handle the tables. Very rude server female with short blonde hair. We ordered the bruschetta which came with small slices of bread, not grilled or anything and on the side on top of arugula a scoop of diced tomatoes that were in balsamic vinegar. That was it for $14 we also got the wine flights, the server as she was getting them was in such a rush some of the glasses had a half inch of wine in some of the glasses had a little bit more, but it was just hap hazard the way they were presented. After the bruschetta and the poor service, we canceled the rest of our food order paid and left. We will never be back. Saturday night in the middle of the summer in a resort town you need to have better staff. And if you’re going to charge the prices that you charge, you need to make sure that your food is elevated to that degree.

Went here for dinner, & like most places in Lake Geneva the biggest draw is the location, close to the lakefront we sat outside to watch the water. This place is a wine bar so it has a large selection of wines, but it also has other drinks & the cocktails were pretty good. As food goes it was good but not great, they serve small plates which i usually like but small plates/tapas are usually priced so you can try multiple, these are higher priced so its a good stop if you want something small & light, be prepared to spend a lot if you want to be filled. We started with the raw oysters on the half shell. They were VERY small but clean & fresh. I then got the salmon burger which must be a seasonal item but it was a disapointment, nothing but a patty made out of canned salmon. My SO got the Ahi steak which was done well and had nice flavors. Desert was very good & i dont think you can go wrong there, got the key lime cheesecake. Service was friendly but very slow.

We were there for the 1st time today and I've never left a review before but felt today's visit needed one. I loved this place! Across the street from the lake, outdoor seating has umbrellas (which was needed as it rained), and the food and service was excellent. My hubby had the Mai Tai and said it was as good as Hawaii's!! My whiskey smash was tasty and strong :) The artichoke dip was our fave thing, followed by the best Seafood bisque I've ever had. ( We also enjoyed the lobster roll and crab cake sliders) !! We had to go inside just after our meal as it was raining quite hard so everyone was in there and indoor seating is quite small, but we got there around 11:45 or so and had immediate seating. We've been to some wine bars before but never one that served seafood, so it was a nice treat and so yummy! We'll be back for sure! Too bad it's an hour plus drive or we'd go more often :)

Happened to stop during Restaurant week, my party of 4 all chose a soup & rice bowl with different variations; Lobster Bisque, Beer Cheese & Minestrone soups and shrimp, Ahi Tuna & smoked salmon for our rice bowl protein choices. This little gem is worth a trip! It’s always busy and the staff is eager to take care of you. The food is good, wine list respectable, although small, and a good selection of whiskey. 🥃 It’s great during shopping to stop by, have an appetizer and wine, then head out for more shopping! Then back again when your shopping is finished! I recommend!

We accidentally sat down next door (which seemed very nice), but were so glad we recognized our mistake and moved over because this place was SO GOOD! We had such a lovely time sitting on the patio on what was probably the last warm day of the year. The spinach artichoke dip was good (but needed more bread). I enjoyed my lobster roll, but oh man the crab cake sliders my wife ordered were amazing! The peach sparkling wine was incredible too, like biting into a fresh peach.

Looked nice. Sat for 20 mins and didn’t even get water. Server was visibly eating in the back room. They were probably short staffed but we would’ve stayed if they just gave us water. Left after we set a timer for how much longer we’d wait.

My wife and I came here for a lunch date and I will not lie 2 hours went by and we didn't even notice. We were having an amazing time the atmosphere was so perfect! The drinks were delicious, my wife got the wine flight and I got the peach whiskey. We ordered the roasted garlic and the Flatbread and they were both so delicious! Here is a trick, save some garlic and put it on the Flatbread with some of the olive oil and it will make it better. The reason I'd say the service was a 3 star is because the waitress even though she was nice forgot to put our order in. We know this as she told us and apologized. Only reason that got a 3 star.

We sat outside and the space was a bit tight. It was a very busy afternoon and they were very clearly understaffed. It took a long time just to get water and our orders in and to get the bill. The food was a reasonable amount of time. We had shrimp cocktail, the charcuterie board and artichoke dip. There wasn’t enough bread for the dip. The charcuterie board had a good variety. We also had the summer spritzer which was really good. It was a good spot to have a light bite and a drink!

For the price you pay the portions are small. Caesar salad for $12 had exactly 3 ingredients: lettuce, cheese and dressing. And 1/4 of the lettuce was brown.

Stopped in here for a cool drink on a hot day before a touristy boat ride. I'm so glad we did. Hand crafted cocktails, plus a sufficient number of festive yellow umbrellas for shade, add-in people-watching, and lake views, equalled a five for us!
Wisco Mule (Door County cherry vodka, Barretto Ginger beer), and a Bloody Sunday (Jalapeño VODKA and an herb tomato blend) were very good. Would come back.

My friend and I were disappointed this visit. Normally everything is great but not this time. We ordered shrimp ceviche, and it wasn't what we expected ( not chopped up) and very very small serving for the$$$
We were the first customers to order when they opened and already didn't have any salmon for the salmon salad she wanted. They were a bit disorganized. This is the reason for my stars.

I had the misfortune of dining at Barrique Bistro & Wine Bar and I have to say, it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. The service was absolutely atrocious. It took forever for the waiter to even acknowledge our presence, and when he did, he was incredibly rude and dismissive. When we finally got our food, it was cold and overcooked. The wine list was lacking and way overpriced. The atmosphere was depressing and the music was too loud. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone and I definitely won't be returning. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I recently visited a cozy small restaurant on the shore of Lake Geneva. The restaurant is located in a two-story house, and it has a cute small dining area and bar with kitchen. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed, and the staff is friendly and attentive.
