This is a review for the restaurant.

We (my family and I) come to Bauer's Dam restaurant every summer when we come up to our cabin. It has always been a pleasant experience and we never had any problems.

Sadly, this is the last time we will be coming to Bauer's Dam.

I called the restaurant to order food to pick up. The person who answered the phone said that I could just come to the restaurant and order the food to take home when I got there. I was annoyed because we had a big order and I knew it would take a little bit to make. I got to the restaurant and not a single place to sit, not even at the bar. I put the order in and they said it would be an hour.

This was the most annoying part, there's nowhere to sit down and wait for my order. My mom found a chair at the bar, one single chair and of course she ordered a drink. Which was the restaurant's intention this whole time. When someone is trying to stop drinking and you bring them to a bar to wait an hour for their food chances are they will give in to having a drink. This is why I ordered pick up.

I ordered a burger which comes with a side of french fries. I wanted french fries and they were out of them. I wasn't given an option for the other sides that I can choose from. I was charged for it regardless. I asked for the burger to be well done and the burger was far from well done.

When someone calls for food to be picked up, take their order like EVERY OTHER RESTAURANT and do not haggle them to come in now to order and wait for it there to take home. The point of calling prior is to get the order in so it is almost done or ready when you arrive. When you order food to pick up that usually is because you don't want to go inside only to pick up the food.

Great hidden gem in the Northwoods. Super friendly service. We were greated by Donna, one of the owners. This resort has been in their family for over 50 years. We sat on the outdoor deck. Surrounded by beautiful baskets of plants and bird feeders. We enjoyed the thin crust pizza and chicken, cranberry, pecan sammie. Excellent food!

This is a really nice little resort. Family run, and it’s the whole family involved from the resort cabins to the bar/ restaurant. We visited in the middle of a cold Friday afternoon, along with dozens of other snowmobilers. Service was fast, but their pricing is that of a much higher quality establishment. We ordered a "Frito Pie", which is a normal sized bowl of chili (which was good), with Fritos sprinkled over it, jalapenos, cheese, and sour cream. As lunch, it was fine. However, it was not worth anywhere near $13.99 + tx. Most of the burgers were also $13.99, and they were average sized burgers that went by, nothing more. Next week, we will stop at Burnt Bridge Grill instead, as their burgers are $2-$3 less...so even if they are also only average, they will still be a better deal.

Bauer's Dam is THE place to stay. Well kept CLEAN cabins! Donna and her staff are 5 Star people. After a recent, terrible experience at the Johnson cabin on Marshmiller Lake by Bloomer Wisconsin, I called Donna and she happened to have a vacancy. You would have to look long and hard to find a nicer place. Don't forget to visit the bar as their menu has some tasty selections!

Stopped in for a pizza. While waiting my wife and sister sat down on a picnic table outside to wait. (not on the deck but in the yard between the lake and deck.) The lady that owned the place started yelling at my wife and sister to get off and wait in the boat. She followed them to the boat still yelling. She then would not sell us the pizza or the drinks we ordered. It was a real crazy situation. She thought the girls had brought their drinks from the boat to the picnic table. she was awful to them. They were very surprised as they would have followed any direction given by her. What kind of person follows people screaming? Very weird. Be very careful when interacting with her.

Eat at your own risk. My three year old had food poisoning from their chicken tenders. She violently vomited all over herself hours later. Before she ate them, I thought they looked unpalatable. I would have thought it was a fluke thing, if the soup didn’t taste like it had sat for a week. The chicken soup tasted like fish and half of the table didn’t eat it. Disappointing, we’ve been here before and it’s been great. We will not be back.

We rode our snowmobiles all day and decided to make one last stop at this bar on the way home. It felt like we were inconveniencing them from the second we walked in (9pm on a Friday). If you’re not a regular they will charge you extra for your drinks (found out the hard way). Also bartender charged me $1 for every time I swore during casual conversation with my friend sitting next to me. I would never go back, there are a lot more friendly, up to date, and accommodating places to spend your money.
