We were staying in town and we’re looking for a casual place for dinner. The atmosphere in here was very nice. The workers super friendly, we were greeted by the bartender when we came in the door.
The drink prices very reasonable. We wanted a bloody Mary and we’re inquiring on the spiciness of it. The waitress was kind enough to bring over a sample to taste. They are very thick here if that is the way you prefer them just an FYI.
Hubby had a mushroom burger. I had a bacon cheeseburger. They don’t come with a lot of frills and extras. They also do not come with anything so fries, onion rings and etc. are an extra cost, although very reasonable.
Service was good, atmosphere was good. Prices were good and the burgers were pretty good . I would recommend stopping in if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat.

We were passing through Reedsburg and stopped into Beastro & Barley for dinner. Mike and Kari, chef/owners, are generous hosts who care about serving good food. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and getting to know a little about this community while eating a delicious meal! If you have a chance, stop in and enjoy it yourself. Maybe become a regular. This great place has been on our radar for quite some time and today was our first visit and it will not be our last. We were greeted promptly in a friendly manner. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the entire space and really loved the decor with musical theme and great local history. Mike treated us like we were locals and answered our questions genuinely. The food was top notch. We each had a sandwich and soup and the taste was phenomenal. We really appreciate the great care this place obviously takes… and I can’t forget… we got the dessert too!!! The Carrot Cake is divine!!!! As someone who travels for work, I love finding hidden gems to grab lunch. When you walk in, it feels like your cozy, small town neighborhood bar. But the food and plating was more like a nice bistro. Very impressed with the food and the price. The owner was the person who greeted and served me. Very down to earth guy. We had a chat about music as we are both musicians. In fact, his band will be playing tonight at this venue. If you're in town, make sure you check it out. Highly recommend for a quick bite and conversation.

Dinner last night was the best meal I have had in a long time if not the best meal. Every bite, till the very end was phenomenal. Every bite. The chips, so yummy. The cod, Cooked perfectly. The lime cilantro sauce, ughhhh soo good. The balance of flavors had me dancing to Every bite. It truly was the best meal I've had.
I hope this combination of the grain bowl is available regularly.

Ok well it was ok, but surprised that fries don’t come with a burger. Just a burger on a plate, not even a pickle spear!
I like a slice of onion on a burger not so much slivers of onion that fall off your burger while eating it.
Onion rings, mushrooms just ok but could tell they were just out of a frozen bag.
Fries good as we ordered them separately after not getting fries with our burger.
**My suggestion would be to give fries with a burger and a pickle spear I do t think I’ve even been anywhere that don’t do that.

Beastro is our “go to” place for lunch, dinner or a good drink. Kari is an excellent chef. Her soups and specials are amazing and I have never had a meal that I didn’t love! Mike is a great bartender who excels at making good drinks, entertaining conversation, performing card tricks and telling bad jokes. Mediocre to dismal. Minimal effort. The "cook" burned the bottom of the bun on my mushroom swiss burger so badly it was inedible, the top only less so and the meat was well past "medium". I would have to try hard to mess up a basic burger that badly. My wife thought hers was OK, so two stars. Proprietor needs to sit down and read "Give 'em the Pickle".

I wasn’t expecting a good vegan option as someone traveling in from the city, this place took everyone at my table by surprise. The soup of the day and the sweet potato fries were delectable! When we entered we were greeted by Mike the owner. After serving our drinks he enthusiastically told us about the Fri night fish specials. We had the clam chowder and cream of chicken with curry & coconut soups. They were both amazing. Our beer battered cod was equally delicious and was delivered by Chef Kate (Mike's wife). We just had apps and drinks but they were both very satisfying. The cheese curds were lightly hand-breaded and cooked perfectly. The homemade hummus was excellent as well. Horrible, ended up throwing most of it away. I got a blue cheese burger. The cheese looked so bad I was scared to eat it. I usually love blue cheese but this didn’t look or smell like blue cheese. The sweet potato fries said gluten free on the website but clearly had some type of batter on them. I didn’t double check with them if they were gf for sure. If you’re intolerant to gluten make sure you double check on those.

I had a bacon cheeseburger, cheese curds, 4 wings, a cup of soup to go (chicken and wild rice) A tall Cap'n n coke, and a soda...41 bucks...I did that to try a few things but I didn't think it would be that much, seems a bit on the pricey side but overall everything was very good. Chef Kari makes The BEST Cheese Curds on the Planet - Hands Down !!!!! I was extremely complementary of them and told the waiter Mike (who just so happens to be Chef Kari's husband !) my praise. He said after Kari graduated from Culinary School, she worked hard developing the perfection of her recipe. I had only had Culver's Cheese Curds prior to experiencing them at Beastro & Barley and now have to conclude since Chef Kari's are a 10 out of 10, Culver's only come in at a 6 out of 10 - sorry Culver's, but that's the truth. I thought you were great and now I know better happening to stop at Beastro & Barley.

When I had examined the menu online prior to arriving, since I had a large late breakfast yesterday, I had just planned on having the cheese curds and a small cup of soup. When I got to the restaurant with my friend, I saw the sole dessert offering: Coconut Cream Pie ! I wasn't sure I could finish the pie if I had the soup of the day: Chicken Ginger, so fortunately Mike provided an excellent suggestion: Eat The Pie First !

I devoured the cheese curds and the superb pie and still had room for a Med Bowl of Chef Kari's wonderful homemade soup. I did find the soup to be spiced to what I would say is a MidWest spice level. I am used to Detroit, MI Indian spices, and would say Chef Kari could have upped the ginger and my taste buds would have appreciated it - but not sure if the rest of her clientele would agree with me ! ;)

Well done Chef Kari and thanks for the incredible Eat Pie First suggestion Mike! Lives too short to deny yourself the Joy and Pleasure of eating a wonderful homemade large slice of delicious Pie. Chef Kari told me she makes her own whipped cream for the delectable pie. She also said her Banana Cream Pie is a crowd favorite too. Yum yum!

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and had hot chicken wings, burger, and fries. The wings were awesome. Super crispy on the outside and done perfect on the inside with a sauce that was similar to Frank's Hot Sauce but with a habanero flavor - really good flavor and not too spicy. The best burger I have had in Reedsburg / Baraboo area. The bun was toasted and the burger flavorful. Fries were also on point.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The vibe is good ole Wisconsin type bar that serves food. There are places to eat at the bar, booths, and tables.

There is a fresh soup of the day and other specials depending on the day of the week. Many items on the menu that I am interested in coming back to sample.

Awesome value for the great food and service - I will definitely be coming back for more.

Such a great place for lunch or supper when in Reedsburg…freshly made soups and chili, great nightly specials, fun appetizers/share plates and radiant personalities that shines in their atmosphere and through the food they prepare! I highly recommend the Vegan Mushroom Barley Patty…made from scratch with barley, sautéed mushrooms, onions, carrots and herbs…SOOO GOOD! I add Swiss cheese and a smear of mayo to mine - no longer vegan I know but that’s not my purpose for eating it, I eat it because it’s DELICIOUS! Mike & Kari love what they do and would love to serve you!!

Wow you guys, seriously. I am on a random getaway after months inside, but to an area that I have been many times in my life. I have experienced some new and pretty amazing things on this trip, Beastro & Barley being one of them.

This place is everything you love about a small town Wisconsin bar, but with the food kicked up a notch or two, or three or FIVE. We had an appetizer of sun dried tomato dip and bagel chips. I had the bacon cheeseburger, cooked the way I like it with all the fixins, and pickle fries, not pickle chips, pickle fries folks and they were the bomb!

My friend had the grilled chicken sandwich with regular fries which she said was amazingly flavorful, and not dry which is hard to find in a grilled chicken sandwich. Two thumbs up on that!

And of course we both had good Wisconsin beers to go with it.

This place is a must do, when you are in the area. You will NOT be disappointed.

We came here to the opener and we both had the Amazing chicken special and great drinks. They offer an array of good beers, mixers and also wine. The owners are lovely, the atmosphere is welcoming and it’s a great choice for a quick cocktail stop or for dinner.
