Very good and tender pulled pork and brisket. The bbq sauces were really nice, too. The sides were really tasty. I stopped for lunch and the service was very quick and friendly.

We must have gone just after they changed the menu. My husband looked online and it sounded like there were plenty of options, but when we got there it was all BBQ, not at all the menu online at the time. This would have been at the middle of September. I love pulled pork and BBQ beef, not a huge fan of smoked food. The smell of the restaurant was overly smoky and made me rather nauseous. I was not in the mood for BBQ and there weren't many other options. I was hoping for something light and not greasy, more like a dinner salad, but there wasn't any salads except for a side salad, which they graciously added chicken to for my meal. It was disappointing. I think the others enjoyed what they got, but disappointed in the lack of some variety.

They recently have rebranded and changed their whole menu. I would give their old menu and style 5 stars. Their new menu isn't great and is pretty similar to other stuff in town that is better. The fries were tasteless. Their burger and mac and cheese were fine but not amazing. Their interior is now a weird mixture of their old upscale style and lowed BBQ style. It's weird to be sitting on a fancy chair with their lovely mosaic floor and eat food off a metal try in a plastic bowl.

Truthfully if I wanted BBQ or burgers, 7 hills does it better so I would go there.

Enjoyed dinner with a friend. I loved the vibes of the place. Our server was great and the bartender made us an off the new drink menu drink which was great. We had an appetizer of the fried ravioli and each had the southern smoke. Portions were huge! definitely enough for left overs. Loved the dining experience and the meal and would recommend it as a nice dining spot in Platteville.

So, I'm very sad to see their formally unique menu go. This was the only place in.town to get something upscalish.

However, regardless of the menu, they need to work on service. My entrée should not come 5 mins after my app. I purposefully stagger my order to enjoy my course.

The food was ok, what you'd expect from 7 hills and their subsidiaries. Not the best bbq in Platteville.

Even though every table was full, we had great service. She was quick and attentive. Water melon mojito did not have any garnish, mint or anything related to mojito that I could tell. The burger with brisket, cheddar and bbq sauce was delicious, $14, no side. The macaroni and cheese with BBQ on top was terrible. No taste of cheese and bland. This was our first visit.

Not sure when they changed the menu, as this was my first visit but this is a bbq joint now. The previous reviews are all for a different spot I think. Brisket was mostly fat and had no smoky flavor but was tender. Wife got the pulled pork which had a good flavor but was also pretty fatty. Probably won't be back.

I forgot to take pictures but I tell you what we had the crostini sirloin appetizer with wild mushroom and smoked rosemary It was heavenly..... I could make a meal out of that alone.... And then I had grilled chicken with a salad for my entree..... Topped off by a delightful martini..

WOW! I'm beyond impressed. We shared the pork belly bites and they were delicious. The pork was crunchy on the outside but the inside just melted in our mouths. My husband had the beastie boy burger with Mac and cheese as his side. The bacon on his burger was the thickest we had ever seen. And he could not stop raving about the moistness of the burger patty. The Mac and cheese was also very good and was nice and crispy on top I had the pork ribeye with the peach sauce. The ribeye was so juicy and I could cut it with my fork. It didn't even need the sauce in my opinion. The brussel sprouts were charred beautifully, and the potatoes were delicious. Although the pork didn't need the peach sauce it was sweet and savory and a great compliment to the pork. We took home the chocolate torte with no melt ice cream which was very sweet but also amazing. I would have eaten the ice cream on its own. The total bill was on $75 which was an amazing price for the quantity and quality of food. The service and everyone we interacted with was amazing.

I will be 100% recommending this place to everyone I know and people at the hotel I work at. We will definitely be back!!!

The staff was very kind and talented at making yummy cocktails. The food was so delicious. I had the ribeye which came with potatoes, brussel sprouts and tasty little tiny onions. Best steak I've ever had at a restaurant! My husband had the salmon which was equally as delicious. We had the 3 cheese dip and bread as an app which was such a different taste but so good. Ended our meal with the chocolate torte. That was the best meal I've had out in a long time. I hope this place sticks around because it was all around just a lovely experience.

Atmosphere was good, my husband loved the tequila mule. Shrimp appetizer was a tad over cooked but overall good. The full size salad is definitely huge but the steak you add is definitely not what you would expect. Rather than cutting up a cooked piece of steak it appeared to be beef stew meat added on top which just wasn’t that appetizing. Dessert was amazing! Server was good however when asked questions about menu items had to check with kitchen 2x. Overall for the price probably would not go back unless it was for drinks and dessert.

Restaurant visit was in July/2023

The NOT SO GOOD:

The place was so dark.
Black walls, black curtains, black tables, etc. Oh, except for the sun coming through the unfiltered top windows. Customers had to move 3 different times because the sun was blinding them.

We felt there was little, to no atmosphere whatsoever.
Looked dirty, and unkept to us.
No decor on the walls.
Mismatched lighting.
Flies bothering MANY patrons while they were trying to eat.

Bartender?
He sure made it clear of his "self importance." Yeah, we get it...you know how to put two cups together and shake a martini. He also made a couple comments to customers that we felt were distasteful.

The GOOD:

SERVICE.
Our waitress was AMAZING.
I'm not for sure, but I believe she was the only server they had that night. She ran her tush off. Sweet, very friendly young woman, and very, very good at her job.

The FOOD:

It was just...MEH.
It took a really long time for it to arrive at our table.

Spouse ordered: The "Southern Smoke" (?)
We laughed when his plate arrived.
His meal smelled like it had just smoked a while carton of cigarettes.
However, he ate it. We both agreed that we've had better pasta from a "frozen meal." Yikes.

I asked him, "Would you ever order it again?" Simple answer: NO

I ordered: The Blueberry Pork Loin (?)
The pork was exceptionally moist. The blueberry compote (?) left something to be desired. It was served with 2 steamed broccolini steams, and a side of some kind of potato mash that was unfortunately inedible. But hey, good call by the chef for using a "fancy decorating tip" while dispensing the mash.

We did share a piece of the raspberry cheesecake, and that was SOOOO GOOD.
Definitely recommend ordering that.

So before leaving we gave the waitress a really good tip, and put our "FINAL GRADING SYSTEM" to work by asking each other: "Are we ever going to come back here to eat again?" Final answer: NO

Some may feel this was a harsh review.

However, I've owned two businesses over the years (one being a restaurant) and I feel a business owner would want to know how ALL the customers felt about their visit, not only the positive ones.

This is how we make necessary adjustments for the overall experience.

Beastro Se7en is a wonderful dining addition to the Platteville area. The renovations to the building make this a quaint restaurant that provides a really fun atmosphere. The bartender was well versed in mixology and they have some of the custom cocktail options look like fun. The wait staff was amazing and very helpful.
The food was even better! The Gobi Manchurian appetizer was worth the trip alone! I also tried the Southern Smoke pasta dish - which was amazing and very filling - I would highly recommend!
Also tried the Ahi Tuna Salad which was HUGE.
Finished off with the sweets "Good Night Cookie" which is another great reason to visit. Very rich and decadent and worth the trip!

From Carl’s mixes, to the beautifully plated food,… at this place you consume art. Every drink and plate is well thought out with a variety of flavors on your palate. Will return again. Dropped one star in atmosphere only due to colors of black and red, but everyone there was very kind and welcoming and food and drinks were delicious.
