We had our wedding at Beckets on September 27th 2025. I had grown up coming here, so it just felt right! We had such a perfect day! Kris and his team are so incredibly responsive. You will not wait long for a reply from this team. Kris knows the wedding business like the back of his hand. He was confident and collected in all of his responses and replies to our questions. We served the braised short rib with mashed potatoes and received so many compliments on how amazing the dinner was! Multiple guests telling us it’s the best wedding dinner they ever had.

We can’t forget how beautiful the space is. So unique and not your average wedding venue. If you are considering having dinner here…or your most important day of your life…don’t question it! Thank you to Kris and Beckets team for helping us throw the biggest and best party of our life! Cheers!!

I wouldn’t take my family here again. The food was decent for the most part. The burger kept coming out burned (actually black!) and even after it was re made it came out black. The meat pops were nothing like pictured and described and were over cooked. The atmosphere however was absolutely NOT kid friendly. Nothing about this place is welcoming and several things are absolutely a reason to never come back!

To the owner’s reply: thanks for the comment I guess. My kids are very well behaved and I have no doubt that you are welcoming to children in your dive bar. That does NOT however make it a child friendly place. It’s the opposite in fact.

I see the combative and arrogant replies (and in person interactions according to some reviews) are quite frequent in almost all of the honest reviews.

Two stars overall. First time visiting here and not impressed. For more 'upscale' restaurant, employees seemed to not match the scene. Its more of a casual establishement. Fox river brewing company is fancier. Pricey, very underwhelming. Food was subpar. Not busy. We ordered 2 drinks that took 20 minutes to receive and we only received them because we asked our waiter as he walked passed us for the 10th time since ordering. We ordered pork belly and Japanese chicken sandwich. Pork belly was good, packed with flavor, but not for $17 lol. Japanese Chicken sandwich was juicy, but flavorless. I was looking forward to the aoili on there and it was kind of disappointing. Will we return willingly? Probably not. Waiter was kind, think he was new so hes got some slack.

Look at the replies to the bad reviews. The owner/manager is arrogant and extremely confrontational. We had an issue and asked for the manager. He came with his crew (posse) with him and confronted a 79 year old woman, that was hosting the lunch and argued with her right in front of about 12 people. This guy is something else. He had no idea who he is talking to. The men in the group did not want to engage the situation, even though maybe that is what is needed. Extremely confrontational and rude! It is sad. When I was an exec at EAA we highly recommended this restaurant. No longer!

UPDATE: Kris Larsen reached out to my husband today regarding our reviews and sent us a gift card card via mail to give Becket’s one more shot. So we decided to come tonight. Kris sat down at our table and chatted with us before getting dinner started. Our server, Kayla, was phenomenal. We told her the circumstances surrounding our last visit, and she was ready to help fix that too. My husband ordered the special burger and I reordered the steak (hesitantly, but I was craving it so I decided to give it another shot). Our food was PERFECT. Every detail was great. My steak was cooked to temp. It was fresh. The asparagus was cooked so well. The burger was flavorful and the onion rings were well cooked too! We will definitely be back. Thank you Kris and Kayla for giving us a reason to change our minds and our review. Tonight was a 5 star restaurant and worth every penny. Thank you so much. Kris knows how to run a business.

You would think that for the prices they’re charging for their food that it would be a little better quality. My husband ordered Woodford Reserve with his old fashioned and it was $22. Never have we ever paid that much for a cocktail, especially woodford. Our food came out - husband had the special Vodka Shrimp pasta.. pasta was cold, shrimp was rubbery and it had zero flavor.. seems to be a theme in Wisconsin. I ordered the ribeye, medium rare like I always do. It comes out - pretty much well done and our server admitted to my plate being super hot because it sat under a heat lamp for a good minute. I send it back, it comes back rare, like literally raw. I told the server to just take it off our bill, because I was done waiting for food to be cooked correctly and my husband had finished eating. Almost $80 for two drinks and one measly entree. I don’t know what this restaurant is doing but they need to get it together or lower their prices. And not to mention we never once saw a manager about the issues we experienced.

Food was very bland. It looked good on the menu, but it just wasn't as good as it sounded. The tenderloin pops weren't seasoned at all, and the steak tasted like it was microwaved. The entrees weren't a lot better. It was slow in there when we were in, and there were a lot of people just standing at the end of the bar waiting for something to happen. The bartender didnt know how to make an old fashioned. The follow up bottle of coors light was fine though. I guess for a hundred bucks for two people, I'd expect more.

Five-Star Review for Beckett's

If you're anywhere near Beckett's and not eating there, you're doing life wrong. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was welcoming, the staff was on point, and the food—let me just say, if flavor were poker, Beckett's is holding a royal flush. I had a burger so good I almost proposed to it—don’t worry, I got turned down… apparently it’s already in a beef with someone else.

Seriously though, everything from appetizers to dessert was top-tier. This place deserves five stars, a standing ovation, and maybe even its own sitcom. I’ll definitely be back—and next time, I’m bringing friends. They deserve to eat this good too.

Three of us went for dinner at Becket’s obecause of the view. My salmon was very good and my granddaughters hamburger was very good. My husband‘s steak was another matter. So we called the day before asking about the happy hours & Oshkosh restaurant week. Then decided to make reservation. Once we ready to order, the server told us no happy hours appetizers in dining area. Then it gets worse from there, after serving the appetizer which was rice ball with green curry sauce, she wanted us to keep the utensils for the next course, which were braised rib and mashed potatoes. Clearly they can’t afford to give new clean utensils. The knife is actually a butter/spread knife not a steak knife. And the fork has left over green curry sauce that is now mixed with the new course. Hopefully this 1 star review will make the management make better improvements. But I definitely won’t be coming back there again. If you want upscale experience, go elsewhere like TJ Steaks, or Gardenia, or Manila.

I’ve decided to try Beckets mostly because they were advertised on Discover Oshkosh as the host of Jazz Night on Wednesdays.
I tried calling to make a reservation but unfortunately my hotel phone didn’t want to cooperate and my UK mobile disliked the idea of dialling US numbers for whatever reason. So instead I chose to email them with the request and to my surprise I’ve received a response within 15 minutes. Well, certainly can’t complain about that!
On arrival we were greeted with a smile and taken to our table.
The decor of the place is rather modern, fairly simple lines and nice colour tones that work well together. Lovely view of the river and good live jazz music on Wednesdays. Toilets, although looking a little bit tired (old tiles that have been painted over) are clean and in good condition.
We were served by young Will and let me tell you something about Will. He’s quite an energetic and enthusiastic young man, very helpful and friendly and certainly knows his local beers! He helped us pick the right beers that went very well with our meals.
The food is very tasty and presented just like you see it in the pictures, it’s like looking at the culinary photoshoot but in real life on your plate right in front of you. Steaks were perfect! And so was the salmon! Chef certainly knows what he’s doing and takes pride in it too! Portions were just right, not too little, not too much.
Overall absolutely fantastic experience!
Let’s face it, Oshkosh as a city hasn’t got much to offer and isn’t really a dream holiday destination but Beckets certainly kicks it up a notch and makes it that much better! In my opinion this restaurant is number 1 in Oshkosh and definitely worth visiting!

It was one of the worst experiences…it was my daughter’s bday and they had us on separate tables and we had to wait 5-10 min for our silverware after our food was delivered. Was here for a wedding a few weeks back. Overall, an interesting space. Upon first examination, the area is beautiful, but as you look closer at the details of the venue, it appears like it could use greater care. Noted some significant water damage to walls and ceilings as well as the area not being overly clean. Great location. Food for the wedding reception was very good, unfortunately was not very warm.
Did not like the many different levels of steps as part of the venue. They do have a handicap accessible ramp, but the steps are very shallow and could definitely lead to increase fall risk for individuals.

Attacked on Beckets patio June 30th 2024.
Sunday June 30th 2024 at approximately 245 my Wife and I stopped with our 4 month old puppy. We came VIA boat and as my wife completed securing the boat I took the puppy onto the patio at Beckets completely secured under my control with a leash and harness. Moments later chaos ensued. An irresponsible dog owners lack of care resulted in their dog attacking myself and my 4 month old puppy. I was knocked to the ground fighting to get the animal off of me at the same time trying to protect my puppy. The dog owner, in his intoxicated state came over and started yelling at myself and wife for attempting to neutralize the threat. The dog owner continue to cuss and in a threatening stance attempted to provoke my wife and I into an additional confrontation. The staff at Beckets clearly saw this situation unfold. Beckets staff clearly does not know how to properly respond when one of their patrons is attacked and in distress. I asked our server why the dog owner was allowed to stay and the only answer I received was "he said he's getting ready to leave". Which he clearly wasn't as he was sitting and laughing with his friend. The server kept telling me the dog got off the leash appearing to fish for an excuse as to the establishments lack of response to me getting attacked. I asked for a manager and the server just kept repeating the dog got off their leash. They never called authorities or render any support to myself, wife or dog. I was injured with a 2 inch laceration and my dog had a cut under her eye. With the situation being so volatile and the staff clearly unable to respond appropriately to the situation I left the area and called the police to make a report. My previous experiences have all been without question spectacular but seeing how they respond to a patron being attacked I find it difficulty to consider going back. Do better.

I took my girlfriend out for our anniversary to Beckets because she had never been, but always wanted to go. We arrived to be seated immediately. I just ate at here today and have loved it in the past. I got the duck which I loved and it was a little fatty but I excused it since they were busy. On one of my last bites I felt a sudden crunch and pain on my tooth. It was a piece of bone. I immediately stopped eating it and let the waitress know out of worry for others. As I sat waiting for my friends to finish eating my tooth pain continued and spread into my jaw as well. Normally I never ask for money off of my bill, but because of the pain I was wanting some type of compensation for the occurrence. The waitress was very sweet but Becketts refused to compensate me since I had ate most of it. I completely understand in most instances this rule, but I explained I couldn’t help it had been one of my last bites the bone was in. They still refused and I left disappointed and in pain. This used to be myself and my friend’s favorite annual lunch spot. Unfortunately we will be trying a place with better service next time. Including the photo of the bone which was shown to my waitress as well.

Food was horrible. This is why I cook at home. Shrimp was super salty, oysters were not good, food took forever, bills got mixed up, artichoke dip was spicy? Asparagus was flavorless. I don’t even think my friends were asked how they would like their steak cooked. One steak wasn’t for one of our friends liking. It got sent back and resent out . All they did was torch it so the outside was burnt and the inside was still pink. Unbelievable

Das Restaurant befindet sich im City Center. Es liegt direkt am Fox River. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und unsere Bedienung sehr aufmerksam. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich und bietet eine gute Auswahl an amerikanischen Essen an. Es gibt viele Plätze im Innenbereich, aber auch ein paar Plätze im Außenbereich am Fluss. Es gibt ausreichend Parkplätze und ist sehr gut mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Auch die zentrale Bushaltestelle befindet sich nur wenige Minuten entfernt.

I have not been here since probably 2018 so it’s been awhile! The food just wasn’t overly impressive back then. However I’ve changed my mind after today. Cocktails were excellent. The bartender was beyond friendly and attentive. The food was all so good! We tried the tenderloin bites, ahi tuna, and pork belly for appetizers. 10/10. For my entree I got the coconut shrimp , also excellent. Might have to start coming here more again!
