Description

Belfast Station 2.0. We just finished a 14 month remodel where we upgraded everything in the restaurant. We have an incredible space to watch the game, have fun with friends, date night, check out an amazing band. Its always a fun time here at Belfast Station.

I was here with my 2 kids and husband. My son ordered beef tacos with no veggies. Just meat and cheese.
He recieved tacos with tomatoes, and when we asked, the server told me that she told the cooks about no veggies and they told her they will only remove onions and lettuce, but they wont remove tomatoes from tacos. She reccomended picking them off.

Second time I’ve been here in two years. I tried it again because I didn’t think the service could be worse from the 1st time. I was wrong. Ordered a turkey sandwich and after waiting 40 minutes, I went to the bar to see where my food was (I had to go to the bar because they don’t have a wait staff). Turns out they didn’t send in my order. So I left and will never be back. This place is a joke.

I love the bartenders here. They're very friendly and I consider one or two my buddies. Why do you struggle a bit with their computer system. For example, if you get the bogo apps, make sure the system actually took half off of one. But the staff is pretty good at catching it too. I don't know why this is jumping to mind, because their food is really good. It's pricey but everywhere is nowadays. But they're Caesar salad is shredded iceberg and dressing, kinda underwhelming. But we've tried all of their apps, and I don't think I found one I don't like. Current favorite are the green beans, so I can pretend I'm healthy.

Today six of us friends had lunch on the outside patio. Unfortunately, all of the umbrellas were broken, but we moved two tables into the shady area, so it was not overpoweringly hot. The bar is fully stocked and if you eat outside, your drinks will be in plastic cups. The menu is good. We all had burgers and salad and each one of us was satisfied with the portions and the taste. I had a single burger and it was plenty of food for me. Everyone else had a double burger and they also felt it was good serving size some even more than they wanted for a late Lunch. And the most popular dish on our table was the green bean appetizers. They are pretty addicting and worth your trying. The pricing is reasonable.
Atmosphere wise, it’s just a pub. But you can feel comfortable here. They also have a large indoor dining area that has an open wall to the outside on nice days. That’s a great place for a shady outside meal.
The parking is directly behind the restaurant and so it’s convenient. I would imagine it might fill up however there are plenty of parking spaces in the neighborhood that you could use too.
I tend to appreciate restaurants more because of the conversation and company I am having. Today was no exception. The food was fine and worth what we paid for it. Families, couples, friends, anyone can enjoy this place.
This review also asked about the noise level and it’s easy to talk however, if you’re sitting underneath the music speaker, it can get a little loud. Choose your seating well.

We stopped here after the original place we were going to was closed. What an unexpected treat! This pub is quite large and has a nice outdoor beer garden with a full bar. There is plenty of seating and parking. The bartender was very friendly. My husband had wings and I had a double smashburger. Holy cow! I should have only gotten the single smashburger as it was a decent size and very flavorful. The sidewinder fires were hot and delicious. My husband really enjoyed his wings. They were meaty and spiced to perfection. I rarely eat my entire meal when dining out, but this burger was so good, I ate every last bite! My husband had a beer and I had a soda and our bill barely over $30! Excellent food and a good value too. We'll be back.

I watched the bartender in the cowboy hat tonight rip a drink out of another customers hand after she had taken a drink out of it and aggressively poured it into a plastic cup mixing up the beer and making a belittling comment that he "cant allow it just because she's pretty". Will not be back to a place that allows an employee to belittle and disrespect customers. Absolutely trash behavior, and to anyone reading this check out Rumors across the street

Went in for my first time here and ordered a smithwicks. Asked for it in a glass and the one bartender was extremely nice about it. As this is a very special thing to me to have smithwicks in a glass as it reminds me of my first time in Ireland.
After spending 15$ on the two beers the one bartender was extremely nice about putting it in a glass for me. But the other bartender came and snatched the glass out of my hand that I was already drinking from and poured my $7 beer vertically into a Plastic cup and handed it back to the nice bartender and the very aggressive bartender looked at me as said “just because you’re pretty I CANNOT allow this” I get there was a band playing but I was standing at the bar and wouldn’t have moved. There was also a gentleman to my left that had his scotch in a rocks glass…There were so many ways to go about this situation. But I ended up leaving upset and in tears- as I have never experienced something like this before.
This was my ONE night to enjoy myself and it was ultimately and completely ruined for me. I’m so heartbroken.

Came in for a work dinner. You're stereotypical Irish pup. There was plenty of space though I did not feel crowded. The Ruben bites and jalapeño poppers were the best thing I had there and they are something to write home about. I had the hog father and it was very lack luster. I didn't end up finishing it or even bringing it home. The service was great and even though we didn't want to participate in trivia night we were still welcomed to stay and hang out. They did keep changing the volume of the music making it very loud pretty frequently.

only reason a one star as you can’t give a 0 star. ordered the corn beef and cabbage for 20.95 and when it was delivered i got a small little cup of soup bowl. when i called the restaurant they said oh that was only a item for st patrick’s day. ok i understand mistakes happen but then they proceeded to tell me that’s why they sent the cabbage soup. that makes no sense to me. you sent me a 5.95 menu item and charged me the 20.95. the person on the phone was polite however would not refund my money. i can’t help think this is some kind of joke. who is running the place? very disappointed.

After my experience this evening I doubt I will be back. They have opted for a QR code at the table to order your food, we did that and then we could not order drinks on the app. We sat ourselves and then ordered our own food , no one ever came to the table to greet us , offer us water or ask if we wanted something to drink . I went to the bar and got our drinks , when they were empty I got up and got our own refills. After our food was delivered no one ever came to the table to check on our food or how we were . No one ever came to bus our table after we were done eating and we’re sitting there clearly playing trivia . I again got up and bussed our table. There was zero interaction from the staff. The wings were so over sauced they were a ridiculous sloppy mess. I ate three total. The app does not allow you to not leave a tip… so they can give you horrible or really no customer service and rest assured they are going to get a 20% tip from you because that’s the default tip on the app. Thumbs down all around . Doubt I’ll ever go back . Too bad because in the past they had good fish and service even on nights they were swamped. Since the remodel I’ve had poor service all three times I’ve been here.

This place gives old school dive bar. The food was excellent and the service was good. They have digitalenus and ordering. There is a stage and a garage door that will help with heat in the summer. Went for mimosas and they were fine but not what I was thinking. The flight came in a nice carry tray.

Hard to actually rate the food because we never ate. We walked in and the music was so loud at 5pm on a Sunday night. We couldn’t even hear our kids talk. There wasn’t really a ton of patrons at the restaurant so it was just unnecessary to have the music so loud. Our only options for ordering were using the QR code on the table or supposedly walking up to the bartender-I’m sure they gladly would have accepted a tip for us doing all of the work for them. In the 10 minutes we sat there, no one acknowledged our existence, no feeling of being welcome at the restaurant. We walked out and will not return.

We went for drinks on one of their margarita flight nights. Margaritas were good, but service was slow. They just didn't seem to have enough employees to be advertising this type of thing. The place was packed and finding a table (no reservations /FCFS) to sit and order food was next to impossible, so don't plan on that. Odd that they also didn't have the margaritas pre-mixed, which is nice in a way as they weren't watered down, but when you have that many people ordering margarita flights it becomes almost unmanageable with the long wait times to order a flight and be served. So, if you want to try the food, I suggest going on an "off" margarita drink special night. Otherwise, the food (pizza and appetizers) once we did find a table after a couple hours was good and margaritas were flavorful. The service while slow was friendly and they were trying hard, but just overrun with drink orders.

Would NOT recommend. Went in for a fish fry. Paid a good price for it for one piece of fish. The bartender was chumming it up with his buds at the end of the bar the entire time. First time here and ordered the Farmers salad which had wilted mushy lettuce buried under toppings and some fresh lettuce on top. Taking a fork full ended up with a disgusting taste in mouth. Digging into salad green mush found. Offered another salad?....no way!!. Got a 10% discount on an 11.99 salad. Won't be back!!

As another business owner, I’m going to write my review based on some of your customers after reading some of the unfavorable reviews. It definitely sounds like you need to work on making some staffing changes as soon as you can (easier said than done nowadays) but besides that I’m sure you’re giving 110% effort every day to operate the business the best you can. The problems the restaurant is experiencing are the same for any business right now. The problems all stem from the current president’s policies. He has purposely squashed the life out of a ton of businesses. (1) he raised the minimum wages creating wage increases across the board, not just the minimum wage. (2) he caused this inflation which severely raised the cost of basically anything a business needs to operate and also created a bunch of price gouging. (3) his decisions regarding Covid were purposely crippling and damaging businesses and the middle class. These are just a few examples of what has been done. The worst part of all of this is that the people giving you the harshest reviews are the same people who voted for the current president but they are complaining at you instead of him! How dare you raise your prices!! (And you still aren’t profiting). What do you mean you can’t find any employees?? (Well you could but it wouldn’t be legal because they are all people that came across the open border but they aren’t useful to us because they don’t have the correct documentation to get a job in the US). People need to wake up.

First waitress that talked to us was nice and friendly, the other two asked me once if I wanted another drink, but asked my boyfriend constantly if he wanted another. Anytime those two came over after I said no to a refill only talked to my boyfriend. I ordered a burger asked for it to be well. One side was well the middle was medium which I can handle, but after one bite from the middle it was not cooked. The outside was seared, but the meat on the inside wasn't. And some of the things I seen going on in the kitchen. I should not see the person cooking my food put food in their mouth then touch a plate of someone else's food. Not only have people still been getting sick with covid, but there are other germs that could make people sick from someone doing that. Would give it another try just because the first waitress we had any dealings with.

Very disappointed in their fish fry. The regular order included a single piece of fish which was only ok. The potato pancakes were very overcooked and parts were burnt. You could add an additional piece of fish, though the value on that didn't seem like it was there for us. There was no coleslaw at all, which for a fish fry in Wisconsin seems odd in the least. The people were nice enough, but all orders were only done online or at the bar. This is fine, but then charging as much or more than most other places with full service... in all Belfast checked NONE of our boxes, and while not horrible in any of them, was sub par in most. We definitely wont be back, there are simply much better places to go.

Edit: After seeing the owners response, and carefully reviewing what I wrote, and the recent experiences of other; I will have to 100% stand behind what I said. I understand the owner is likely in a difficult spot on this, but the response is really more of a soap box than an actual response, and is pretty typical of the response given to any negative review of the restaurant. Caveat Emptor.

Long story short, it's much more of a bar than a restaurant.

You can only order at the bar or with your phone at a table (providing your phone number and email address). This means that all of your food is served at once rather than in a logical order one would expect with a human server (appetizers and drinks first, then the main course). My Mom and I both got the friday fish fry walleye and french onion soup.

Like I mentioned before, because we ordered with our cell phone the food took a half hour to arrive and we got both the soup and the fish at once. The french onion soup doesn't come in a crock, the cheese on top is cheap sliced cheese, and the soup was cold upon arrival. It is unfortunate because the croutons and onion soup itself was pretty good after being sent back for the microwave. The cheese was still chewy.

The walleye was not great but I'm not exactly sure why. I suppose it was a bit dry. The rye bread was good, the cole slaw was alright, and fries met expectations.

A bartender noticed we were waiting a while and brought us waters, and the kitchen staff quickly brought out our food when it was done cooking.

I could not recommend Belfast Station as it is now, but if I'd heard the recipes were not cutting corners so much and normal table service was offered I would be open to giving a second chance. Seems like bad decisions from the higher-ups holding the place back.

New to area and received coupon for free sandwich and potatoes up to 13.99. I got the classic burger and chips, husband got Reuben and sidewinder fries also very good. They only took 9.74 off the bill. The server was very nice, was 2 other couples in there it was around 12:30 pm. The music was very loud. The burger only comes with lettuce and bun, mayo, tomato and pickle was extra. We will defiantly eat there again.

Food was ok but the portions for price were terrible! We got an order of fried green beans that would have been roughly a solid handful for $12 OUTRAGEOUS! The fish fry was ok but only had 2 pieces of fish (most other restaurants give you 3) with very bland potato pancakes for $14. Theres a place in the area with all you can eat for less than they charged here. We also only got cole slaw with only one of our three fish fry's we ordered. We will not be going back anytime soon. There are plenty of other places with better food, prices and service in the area. Check out your competitors & might be time to step it up!

I absolutely love the remodeled bar, way lighter and open. They also now have live music on Saturday nights.

For service, you could order at the bar or by using a QR on your table. I love the convenience of the QR for orders and paying. Once ordered through the app, the service was prompt, still checked on us a few times, they were great.

Being a Friday, I had the Clam Chowder and Blackened Shrimp Tacos. The Clam Chowder was a little cold and not a lot of flavor, probably won't order it again. The Shrimp Tacos were great! Good spice, the aioli was tasty, I will order this again.

We went for the music and thought to try the food. His chicken sandwich was great with the pepper jack cheese, lettuce, avocado and everything else on it. He thoroughly enjoyed it!! However, how do you mess up a Caesar salad? No dressing, no cheese and very soggy croutons. If it weren’t for the salmon on top (which was excellent), it would have been the absolute worst Caesar salad ever. Thanks to the Debral Brothers for their wonderful and amazing evening of music.

Fans of AJ O'Brady's in Menomonee Falls will find themselves at home in this restaurant. The menus are quite similar, but different enough to warrant a visit to either location. The restaurant is nicely divided into a dining area and a bar area, meaning your dining experience can vary. What does not vary, however, is the quality of the food and service. I highly recommend Belfast Station!

Honestly before they closed for a year and reopened the food was amazing, the vibes great and the beer is cold but the food is just trash now, I've tried multiple times hoping it would get better but even the side salad was just awful, they forgot the dressing and all the cheese was weirdly soggy and melted into a glob.. really wish the food was the way it was before. Sorry, I wont be returning and will tell my friends that the food was completely inedible, especially for the price. I threw away my entire dinner, on two separate occasions. Just unacceptable. Good vibes but do not eat here.

Also wow, really horrible way of responding to reviews. Lost a lot of respect just from at that aspect. I will be shunning this business to everyone from here forward. Dont bother coming at me saying you have bills to pay as if we all don't. I'm trying to your bills! But your attitude is trash. Just like where my food went.

Very large and spacious place, great outdoor bar and patio area. Came in for an early dinner, food was excellent. Good portions, lots to choose from, and very tasty.

One word of warning, you have to order everything at the bar and there was no direct table service, which I found unusual for a large bar/restaurant. Maybe they’re still getting set up, but I can see how some people wouldn’t like this aspect especially if it was very busy.

I feel like I've lost an old friend.

Stopped in a few weeks after the reopen. The place looked pretty nice. I liked the more open feeling.

It took a bit to get used to the order by app or order at the bar deal, but we figured it out.

Food was just OK. Burger was well overcooked, the fries were fine.

I had to do mental gymnastics to understand the suggested 20% tip when servers are less involved with my experience. I split the difference and went 10%.

Tried it again tonight, several weeks after the reopen. It doesn't feel like things are getting better.

Had to order at the bar because the app's menu has almost no description of items. Zero info to describe my beer choices, no info as to what fish tacos consist of, and no idea what sidewinders are. Questions were answered at the bar, but it took 2.5 people to do it.

My wife's fish tacos were "not good, not much flavor." My chicken strips were, again, well over cooked.

Once again, the suggested 20% does not ring appropriate. Your servers are bringing food and picking up plates, but they are not trouble shooting ordering issues, and they are not refilling drinks. I had to go to the bar twice to do business, and a third time to fix an error on my bill.

Here's the bottom line Belfast Station:

1- The menu has changed, but your quality has slipped.

2- I understand the labor shortage has caused you to try something new to serve your customers, but it doesn't seem to be working all that well.

3- Tips are still meant to be earned, not expected. Your current tipping arrangement smacks of socialism, a model most would agree, does not encourage quality work behaviors.

4- Your responses to the poor reviews you're receiving sound more like explanations about how your customers are wrong than about acceptance of what may just be well-intentioned criticism.

The atmosphere was relaxed and all patrons were having a great time. 😊
Ordering food was cool. You scan the QR code at the table and place your order. You can either pay right away or keep your tab open to order more food and drinks as they are needed and close your tab when you are ready to leave. 😊

We appreciate the QR code initiative-- either order at the bar or call for someone, and they are right there. Great service and great food. I will edit my review. The Bartender totally ignored us. We sat at the bar to have some drinks and dinner. We knew we had to order at the bar. Your bartender kept taking care of people at the other end of the bar that came in after us. She actually came to the refrigerator by us to get peach seltzer and never said a word to us. We were at your restaurant last Thursday around 3:30.

The servers are just too young or not trained. They seemed unsure of everything. I felt ignored. Im fine with ordering at the bar, but servers should bring water to tables, or just come let us know that our food is coming soon... Any sort of acknowledgement. All we got was a bored teenager. $5.00 for a can of beer is crazy. After question the price, the price was lowered to $4. I walked out, so I cannot comment on the food.

The whole ordering from the app thing ruins it for me. Had a group of 10, I had to be the waiter taking all their orders. Scrolling through lines and lines of stuff, then the app kept timing out because of bad cell service. Afterwards I didn't get a receipt. I logged back on and nothing, so now I have to try and get reimbursed from my employer with no receipt. Probably will not be coming back for any work outings. Good food, friendly staff.

My teenage son and I stopped in Friday 6/9/23 for dinner. We figured out the ordering through QR code/online menu. I got the Fried Dubliner burger which has two pieces of bacon and an egg on it. I also got a side of veggies. My son got a classic burger and added bacon and other toppings and a side of fries. The burgers were not seasoned but were otherwise cooked well and tasted fine. My bacon was standard cut but my son's was super wide and thick cut. It didn't seem like the bacon was cooked all the way through and was hard for him to chew. He said his fries were very good. My son had an issue with his soda teasing weird. I took it up to the bar and the bartender made me a new soda right away, no hassle.
The atmosphere was OK besides all of the flies. I know the new trend in bar/restaurants is to have garage doors open to a patio but this caused there to be a ton of flies in the dining area that we were constantly swatting away. I saw one bug zapper on a wall, maybe a few more would help.
That's my two cents. I may consider going back to try some different food just to give everything another shot. I will edit this post if I do.

The new look is god-awful. Blue lights in the seating area, so when it was cloudy, it was dark inside (like a bar which yea I get it this is a bar however the bar should be dark not the seating area)
The QR code thing is a bunch of nonsense. I get it. Staffing is an issue. However, not everyone knows how to do that, and you have a person to help people with QR code. Why not just take the orders normally?
The food was middle group. I can get the same tasting food from the kitchen and have a better atmosphere and service. Over all the new place is garbage and I will not be returning nor recommending it to anyone

Wanted to see new renovations and try new menu and hors d' oeuvres. Renovation very nice. Hors d' oeuvres were tasty and Bar friendly. The restaurant was not a pleasant experience. Ordered food on QR app and took some time. Staff needs more training. Did not really come around to ask how meal was,or offer drinks, had to get our own drinks, food was cold. Standard breaded fish missing Cole slaw, only half a piece of bread, potato pancakes were burnt with no flavor, next order was a special hamburger and looked like a hockey puck, didn't have any pickles or chips. Another order was baked cod which was okay but Cole slaw was awful. It was like a blob of mayo with some bitter cabbage. Side salad was awful. It was wilted and bitter. Food took a very long time to come. Was not terribly busy. Will eat elsewhere next time.

Considering the place was closed for how long, you'd think Belfast would have their people trained. Waited 5 minutes before we were asked if we'd been helped. Got our drinks and Menus. 20 minutes late still NO ONE took our order. 1/2 an hour drinks were done still no order place. The WOW of the remodeling job is the only thing that was good about our stopping in. SERVICE SUCKED. I WAS SITTING AT THE BAR.!!!!! If these people are working on supporting their families then they should better themselves as servers. I HAVE NO PROBLEM GIVING A GOOD SERVER A GOOD TIP.

Arrived for lunch and found out they had just remodeled and reopened. I'd never been there prior, and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and service. I sat at the bar and received a menu, but if you sit at tables you will need to use a QR system to order. I will be back to try other flavors of the wings and burgers! Lots of drink and food options! Very disappointing. Build your own pizza is equivalent to a frozen pizza at best. My husband ordered baked fish that came out barely warm. The butter for bread looked like someone had already taken the butter out and they recycled the container. Apparently that was the norm because the table next to us had the exact same thing! Great experience! With the staffing shortage, things can sometimes be slower than before the pandemic, but I love how they continue to raise the bar for their food and service. I’m not a huge fan of ordering off a QR code, but I recognize this is the future and something I need to adapt with, or I’ll be a very grumpy man in a few years.

Overall, I give it five stars because five stars because mediocre isn’t good enough for their staff.

I have given this place three chances. 1st time wings were cold when they were served, sent them back and they came back burnt. 2nd time I found a long dark hair in my fish fry. And last but not least tried to go for a Sunday breakfast. They did not have servers so you had to order online while sitting there. It took forever to figure out how to order and then there is no way to get coffee refills or have someone help if something was missing. 3 strikes and they were out!
