We had a lovely evening, sitting outside at this quaint restaurant with ample outdoor seating. Inside, you’ll find a warm inviting lively dining room. For our meals, we had the bruschetta chicken. Delicious. My guest ate every bite. I had the rice bowl. Full of tasty, morsels of purple, radishes, edamame, shiitake mushrooms, bok choy and avocado topped with crunchy wonton strips, sesame seeds, and spicy mayo. I added shrimp as a protein. My only disappointment was that there were only three small pieces of shrimp. For the price, I would’ve liked five.
Waiter was attentive but not intrusive. Timing of food and drinks was excellent.
This was not our first visit and it certainly won’t be our last. We will be back.

I can’t even say it’s the worst service ever because we didn’t even get any service. We waited a long time to be seated after the hosts just stared at us instead of greeting us. When we were finally sat we waited 15-20 minutes for our server. No one came so we left. So disappointing.

They charge a credit card service fee. Terrible! It’s already $40+ for a small piece of chicken and risotto. Very basic and over priced food. The chicken was extremely moist but salty. Almost as if they soak it for days in a salt brine.

The portions were also on the smaller side for the price.

Top notch balsamic glaze.

The decor and atmosphere also does not warrant a $50+ a person meal. For instance, the tables were sticky and the waitress was wearing shorts.

The brunch food was great. However, not even an hour into our reservation when we were still eating, we were told that someone would be needing our table soon. It seemed as though a manager was pushing the server to do so as the server was very apologetic about it. We were rushed and were not even able to spend an hour and 10 minutes enjoying brunch.

I have been here so many times and always get the whipped feta dip because it’s amazing! Them not having it until 2pm on Saturday was a blessing in disguise as I tried the blt and peach burrata salad which were both excellent as well. Beautiful, former church with a fresh menu. We were there on a Wednesday, and they had live music and a little market outside. They were serving food and drinks outside as well. One of the specials was a berry salad with greens and cheese crumbles. Very good, and I will be making it at home. The roasted cauliflower was enough for more than 2 people. Hint, add bacon. It's worth it, and it is more like rendered. salty pork belly cubes, than just bacon crumbles. If you sit upstairs, you will notice the organ pipes from when it used to be a church. An awesome place if you are in the area.

We walked in at 8:10. The hostes was nice but said she had to talk to he manager and walked away. The manager came back and instead of saying. " We have closed the kitchen early, sorry for the inconvieneince. Feel free to head up to the bar and have a drink". She instead made up a BS excuse...."The kitchen is closed and we have met our copacity for the evening". We went down the road and had a great dinner at Zinn, who also is open until 9pm, had a great dinner an don out way home by 9pm. Some places just reallt dont get it. I guess this place is not one of them.

We came 40min before closing on a Sunday, asked to be seated outside. They had about 5 open tables outside. We had 6 people. They had a open 4 person table and a few smaller. We asked if they could move them together, she said she had to ask the kitchen? Not sure what the kitchen was going to do, came out and said "the owner said no, and they are at capacity." When it's outside and have multiple open tables that was absurd. We would have been paying well over $100. They lost out and the Lumber Inn next door welcomed up with open arms AND sat us outside without having any open tables.

We love the architecture and the food here. I had the black cod, and it was perfectly cooked. The grilled lemon and peppery salad with green apple was a perfect compliment to crisp crust on the fish. My husband had the short rib pasta and loved it. It was a little loud when we first arrived as an old church doesn't naturally have much sound dampening, but overall, it was a great experience.

This is a New American restaurant nestled in the heart of downtown Delafield. It’s one of the places that I’ve driven by hundreds of times with the intent to try. We made a reservation several days in advance for a Friday night. They were busy! Walking up would have been a 1 hour wait. If you want to eat here once the weather gets bad, it could be even worse. The seating area is limited inside.

It was a beautiful night so we chose to sit on the patio. The ambience was quite nice…a small town alive at night. Service was a little slow due to the busy-ness, but not enough to be bothersome. One of the issues is that the servers have to go all the way inside to the bar; all in all one of the side effects of having a bustling patio service. I think the servers were putting in 15,000 steps a shift.

We enjoyed our roasted cauliflower appetizer. It was fresh and crunchy with natural caramelization and Parmesan! The artichoke however was tough and inedible. We mentioned it to our server and she very graciously had it removed from our bill. We chalked it up to getting one of the bad ones since it appeared that other tables were enjoying their artichoke.

My girlfriend had the risotto and loved it. It’s not often that she completely finishes a dish…especially after appetizers. I had the strip. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The side potatoes and asparagus were exceptional. This place has no illustrious of being a high-end steak house, but the it definitely hit the spot for me.

The desserts looked amazing, but we were too stuffed to try one.

I highly recommend!

Update: also had a nice lunch. The pricing still seems a little high, but the quality is good. Very enjoyable time on the patio.

Stopped at the recommendation of a family member and this place did not disappoint! The atmosphere and interior are beautiful and upscale yet cozy. They have a great food and drink menu which makes a perfect outing with girls or for date night! It is on the pricier side but the food is worth it. Our server was also fantastic, very friendly and accommodating! One thing to note is you do need to make a reservation and their menu that is served rotates based on time of day and day of the week so plan ahead when you want to visit. Highly recommend!

I have been to far fancier and more expensive restaurants that didn’t serve up half the taste, quality, or experience. This is why Belfre is where we’re always go back to.

What a wonderful find this was. We stopped in to Belfre Kitchen on Sunday morning and, luckily, they were able to fit us in without a reservation. The restaurant itself is decorated very creatively and unique. I especially liked the nod to the many benefits of bees when you walk in the door. The food was even more wonderful. We started with a side of Garam Masala Sugar Drop Donuts. These were delicious and an unique use of this Indian spice blend... simply divine. Then, I had a traditional Eggs Benedict. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The English muffin was fresh. And, the potatoes were crispy. Overall, it was a great meal. My wife ordered a very flavorful Shakshuka with fresh Naan toast.

We reserved an outdoor dome table for my mother’s diner and Belfre “lost” the reservation after sending us emailed confirmation with all the details. Discussed this with the manager on the day of our reservation and she said she had never even used their own website and had no idea what happened. Most frustrating was her overall poor and rude attitude. Thankfully we went to one of the other wonderful restaurants in Delafield and saved my mother’s birthday celebration.

We came in on a Friday to try a number of dishes. By far the small plates were the winner. The whipped feta was amazing. I could have eaten at least two more portions of that alone. My main course was good but not as good as the small plates. The potatoes that are served with the walleye special was the star of the main course. Avocado on toast was lacking major ingredients for flavor (i.e. cumin, salt) I expected slices of fresh avocado & not a thin smear of mushed up avocado. The dressing accompanying the dish was very bitter & not any flavor to enhance any of the greens served. Also the noise level/acoustics inside was not pleasant. I was not able to converse with my family very well. Waitress was very congenial & commendable. We were also not able to sit outside because it was going to rain but yet a wait staff person was putting condiments & napkins on the outside tables.

Made reservation for two at 6pm. Arrived a couple minutes early. There were lots of empty tables outside. A handful of small 2-people tables. I asked to sit outside and the hostess was not friendly and told me that there was nothing available outside. She took us upstairs to a small table by the kitchen entrance. Lovely 🙄. We got here early on a Saturday, at 9:00 when they opened. There was a little bit of a line, some people with reservations, and we got a table right away, on the first floor, in a corner.
Our server got to us right away. He got a juice and I ordered the Chai Latte, which was very good.

Ordered a Salmon Cake Benedict and I ordered the Avocado Salad with Salmon. Both were disappointing and not up to their usual standards. The eggs which are supposed to be poached, were more like hard boiled. For my salad, I specifically asked to have the salmon medium temperature, but it came out over cooked. (nothing worse than overcooked, dried salmon).

Why didn't we say something? It was busy, the server never came back to check/ask, and didn't feel like it was bad enough to have it remade (which I have only had to do twice in my life).

The noise level where we were seated got extremely loud, as the place filled up. (in the past I've sat in the balcony area where the sound level was not that noisy).

Not sure if I will be back. If I did, I would probably sit in the balcony and order something that is easier and more likely to be to my liking. But for the price they charge, there are other places where you don't have to worry about the menu items or the seating location.

My fiancé and I came here wanting to have a nice dinner date and were left underwhelmed. We were seated promptly (with a reservation) and service was attentive enough. Unfortunately we were sat close to the front door and the space was freezing as the servers came in and out to the domes out front. I ordered the market pasta, which was a lobster dish, and it was shockingly bland. My fiancé's burger and fries were also just okay. Whipped feta starter was the star.

Overall, not special enough for what the meal cost ($110 with tip for two mocktails, a starter, a pasta dish, and a burger). I'd go elsewhere for a splurge.

My son took me here for lunch, and we ate in one of the domes! It was drizzling outside, but the dome kept us nice and dry. There are heaters inside the dome to keep you toasty warm too! We had delicious meals here this week at Belfre Kitchen. We were seated promptly (with reservations) and our service was attentive right away. The roasted cauliflower with bacon was a delicious appetizer. We - 4 of us - all picked something different for our entrees and were all pleased. There was one salmon, one pot pie, one lobster roll, and one pork tenderloin chosen. Super cute inside as it is a converted church. Downtown Delafield also offers some nice shopping and is easily walkable. Very happy we came here. Recommend!

I was craving salmon and made several dining recommendations. However, there was a storm approaching, and we drove in the opposite direction towards sunlit Delafield. We had several options and chose BELFRE KITCHEN. We grabbed the first open parking spot on the street and walked a half block to the Belfre. It was crowded, but we were seated at the bar. Belfre's bartenders are excellent, and we enjoyed our Old Fashioneds: Southern Comfort, and a brandy. A table became available, and the hostess seated us in the loft. Much to our surprise, Mary and Nan, our beloved servers who formerly worked at another Delafield establishment, greeted us! I ordered Chicken Milanese, herb crusted chicken breast served with an arugula salad dusted with parmesan, which was delicious. The crusted chicken was moist with a flavorful, crispy coating. My daughter ordered the Japanese Rice Bowl with tuna. I had a chocolate martini for dessert, and my daughter's Butterscotch Bourbon Budino (Italian Pudding with sea salt) was so fantastic that I almost finished half of it before she finished the final bites of tuna.

Yes, I know I craved salmon, and I've savored it at the Belfre previously. I'll order it on a return trip. The Belfre also serves breakfast and lunch. Return trips include breakfast for Salmon Cake Benedict and Avacado Chicken Salad for lunch.

My wife had an excellent experience with her friend a week earlier and wanted me to try the Belfrye. The food was good though pricey, but not over-the-top great. We sat in the dining room, which put us near the bar. Unfortunately, the experience of our dinner outing was spoiled by the bartender, who made it clear to anyone within earshot that she was a total disgrunt, among other things proclaiming audibly "I am in H-E-L-L!!!" For drinks I tried the Old Fashion and it was not good (better at the 5-o'clock Club for a third the price,). So I switched to the Pear Martini, but it had almost no pear taste, dominated by lemon (while I didn't drink either of these, I did pay for them because I didn't want to deal with the angry bartender by returning them). So I tried the Black Manhattan, a petite drink which was good, but I prefer more ice than the single large cube. When I requested a second one with regular ice from the waitress, the bartender made a scene and berated the poor girl for my request.
The whole atmosphere was ruined by the proximity of this angry bartender who made rude comments to others and couldn't be bothered with simple requests , let alone any pleasantry. As my wife said, we should have left this place the moment we saw the bartender acting this way. The Walleye was good plain fare, the scallops a bit bitter (they should be pressed more), the bacon figs very good, the choco brownie excellent, but all this, including tips, and drinks I didn't drink, was about $200. I doubt we'll be back, and if we ever do return and see this bartender we'll leave immediately.

Decent wait to be seated even though restaurant wasn’t busy yet. Allegedly a time limit on tables although the server didn’t specify. Noticeably not as pleasant service once we said we were just getting drinks (even though many other tables on the patio were open). I guess if you’re going for just drinks, sit at the bar or couches. Would try again for brunch but not happy hour.

Food was fresh but very little flavor. Waitress would come to the table while I was having a conversation and instead of letting me finish my sentence she would just interrupt me. The food was phenomenal. Shared the arancini and the autumn flatbread with another person. I cant believe it was my first time here it was so delicious! I will be back very soon when the full menu is available. I went in between them serving lunch and dinner with a limited menu, but everything was amazing regardless.

Ambiance and service were great, but woefully disappointed in the crab cakes. Not much bigger than a quarter and only 2 for $18. I don’t mind spending money on good food, but way overpriced for what you get. Cakes at St. Paul Fish Co in Milwaukee Public Market much tastier and cheaper. I will try again for a different menu item next time, but don’t like to walk away still hungry on my first visit.

We got to meet/talk with Amy the somonlier. Stunning young lady!
Ordered salmon small plate, Faroe Salmon and chicken breaded dish

Cleaned both dishes. My wife had awesome key lime pie for dessert

Great alcohol selection.

Overall not "Cheap" but worth the money.

Management should be recognized for having a great staff!

Charming and tasty restaurant in the heart of Delafield. We had a 6pm reservation on a Friday night and were promptly seated indoors. We could have waited 20 minutes to sit outside but declined. Service was very fast and friendly. Came and took our drink orders very quickly. The Sommelier Selection wine was very good and served in a chilled stone bucket. We started and really enjoyed the Bruschetta with Burrata. We ordered the pan fried walleye and Milanese chicken. Both were amazing! 5 stars all the way around for ambiance, service, and taste.

Stopped for lunch with a co-worker. Nice atmosphere and service (Coleen) was excellent. Poke bowl with shrimp was less poke and more like a rice bowl. Overpriced at $30! Chicken avocado salad was skimpy on the chicken, dressing and flavor. Roasted cauliflower app was also lacking something, even when the bacon was added. I've heard such great things about the restaurant and wondering if we just ordered wrong?

OH MY! First Time here and I am at a loss for words! Place, Service, Food perfect in every which way! I am still eating my steak sandwich and fries so darn tasty best steak sandwich I have ever had.
