Another Pilot friend and myself flew down to Janesville to try out this restaurant. It has had good reviews by some instructor pilots we know from Juneau, WI. Nice atmosphere and good food at a reasonable price. Nice place to watch planes as they come and go. Seemed to be a lot of local (non-pilot) types in there as well. I recommend this place to other pilots coming through the area.

The restaurant is cold. It’s a race to eat before your food is cold. Had a Bessie’s stack. The food tasted okay but there was no brown to the hash browns, making the dish a bit soupy. Price is about average. Service great. Adjust the AC and actually brown the hash browns and it can be great.

When we first walked in we were grated nicely and brought to our table, it was nice! She took 20 minutes to even get our order in. Once we did another 10 minutes for our drinks and 20 for our food. The food was okay not worth the price though. I wasn't even a bite in when she had already brought us the check. I do not recommen the place it's not work your money!!

Saw this pop up and had no idea where this was. The Janesville airport. There was certainly a buzz in the air. Once we saw some plates go by, our expectations were sky high. This place was good not great, but was so fun to watch planes take off over breakfast that we can overlook that.

We've been wanting to go to this restaurant for some time I was really excited when we finally went and I was just so disappointed. We ordered breakfast, twice they came with the wrong food when they finally did bring our food the bacon wasn't even done the hash browns are so greasy you can just see the moisture on it and it's just not good. And if you order wheat toast they give you multi grain and they say it's wheat.

The Snyder had a very great atmosphere and location. It’s right on the tarmac of the airport in Janesville and we saw several planes land and pull right up to the windows and park their planes and come in and have breakfast. We went on a Sunday morning and got there right away when they open and there was absolutely nobody there by 8:30. It was fully packed so plan accordingly. Was with a group of friends and we split the Bessie bites. I believe they were French toast bites very light and airy. They were OK. I had the lavender lemonade cocktail, which was full of flavor and a Monte Cristo, which is also really good.

Location wise... It was off the normal path. You don't expect to roll up on a diner in the middle of an airport!!! Wow! It was awesome to see. Picture windows overlooking the actual airfield 20 yards away.

We dine at a lot of places and breakfast is one meal we tend to be most particular about. We rarely visit the same place twice when we travel, however we made a point to visit this place both days we were in the area. We were so impressed with the wonderful location on the airfield, the fantastic service and the amazing food, we just had to go back. It might even become a destination for us in itself. The bacon, coffee, waffles, eggs and basically everything on the menu was just a level above most places.

My husband and I were excited to try their breakfast for the first time. There was a long wait time and not all the tables were full. When we did get seated the service was poor. I got the chorizo burrito which was falling apart before I even had the chance to try it and was not spicy at all. The meat looked and tasted like regular taco meat. My husband had the waffle which was pretty good but the sausage links were definitely frozen to microwave and horrible. The best part about this place is the view of planes taking off and landing and the modern design. Would not go back for food.

I don’t want to be rude with this post, but we had a very unfortunate experience. We knew their Easter Bunch would be popular and that they don’t take reservations.

So we called to ask if it would even be possible to get a table on Easter Sunday at 12:30. We were assured it would be ‘no problem.’

If they had just said, what we expected, that they’d be full, we could have made other plans. But their emphatic assurance is what I wish to express dissatisfaction in.

It’s really hard to figure out Easter bunch when it’s 12:45 on Easter. I wish we had never called to ask the Diner and just stuck with our assumption they’d be filled out. Again, it’s not them being full that prompted this review, it’s planning around what we were told that is the issue.

Our waitress was very very friendly towards us and made sure we got what we wanted, the tables that were previously used were being cleaned efficiently so people were able to be seated without too much of a wait. I absolutely enjoyed my time here and even came home to tell family some facts I had learned from reading the short story they provided on each table. Chicken and waffles. Chicken is very juicy and tender, delicious. Waffles, fluffy and flavorful, best I've ever tasted. Reuben and fries. The sandwich was huge. Meat was sliced properly, tender, and plentiful. Fries were YUK!! Skinny fries served limp, greasy, and barely warm. Skinny fries should be served in a cone, not on an open plate. Wish they would consider changing their fries to compliment the food. The problem with service was that we never saw waitstaff until our bill was delivered, so we never were able to get a refill on beverages the entire meal

We went to Bessie's for breakfast to watch the planes With my two grand kidd's and my son. This was our first time there. The kids were very excited and the atmosphere was awesome. My issue was with the prices. Kids breakfast was 10 dollars a piece. 3.
And a half dollars for a cup of coffee. My breakfast was almost fifteen dollars with one piece of toast. Really, 2 pieces of toaster is going to brake you. Total was 70 dollars with a tip. 2 adults and 2 children. Sorry cannot Afford to come back.

We met family for lunch here. They feature a $100 cheeseburger for $15. The old style chrome dining sets were comfortable, and the seats had nice cushions. Flew up to Janesville Airport on Monday. Had lunch at Bessie's Diner. My wife and I split a ham, cheese, and tomato Omelet that was pretty good. It came with plenty of cubed potatoes and 1 whole piece of toast. For the price of $14 we wished they could have given us at least 1 more piece of toast. You can however, purchase a separate order of toast for an additional $2.50.

The coffee was very good. Wished they had come around and offered another refill. We received only one glass of water and when we asked two different servers for honey for the toast no one brought us any. Service was really lacking and no one seemed to be interested in our business.

The restaurant itself is very clean and new. The ambiance is fantastic. You overlook runway 14 - 32 and when aircraft are either landing or taking off on those runways you get an excellent view. It is exciting and fun to watch, a very good place to observe all kinds of aircraft.

I would recommend the Diner for the view and the fun of watching airplanes and jets landing and taking off, but not so much for the service although the food isn't bad. It's not a bad place to take a family if you're not to fussy about the service.

I have been coming to this place for a year. The food used to be great. Maybe they have a new management because the food changed. It's less of it and lots of times the food is not the way it's supposed to be. Juice, I enjoyed pineapple because it tasted like a pineapple. Now, it's disgusting!!!! Like I said they must've changed a lot of things for the worst!!!
Today I got burned food. I ordered egg whites omelette and toast. Everything was burned! Not edible!!! This was the last straw.
I am done with this place.
It's time to find a different dinner. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff but the food changed for the worst!!!

Wait staff is always friendly and helpful! But the food is hit or miss: previously I’ve loved their seasoned hash browns , but today they were covered in big pieces of black pepper. I tried to eat it but it burned my mouth. Let your patrons control the heat level so you don’t make it inedible please. Ok that note, you only have 1 hot sauce option, which is like only serving eggs one way. You’re a diner, add a couple for everyone’s sake so we don’t have to bring our own.

The kids combos are a good amount of food, and they always add a little whipped cream to the mini pancakes which the kids love!

Amended: We went for Mothers Day Buffet, and it was great! All staff were amazing. The food was great. The little planes flying in and out made the time go by faster. Will go to Mothers Day again next year! Add: we went to Fathers Day yesterday. It was outside this time. We got rained on, and our food got blown away. There's no need for super loud blaring rock music. Nobody could hear Dad talking and trying to tell stories.. hmmm...great huh? . There were no eggs served...in Wisconsin?...no eggs? Sacrilegious. So many hangers, and we get the tarmac? I'll check it out next year, but we won't do either again next year unless it's in a hangar without the rock concert and some eggs. This was not a good experience. For having to wait 20 minutes to sit along with the elevated prices this was not worth the trip. Biscuits and gravy were absolutely dreadful, runny clear gravy along with biscuits that were almost impossible to cut with a fork was ridiculous. Dennys has a better eggs bendict while costing 40% less. We ordered a kids French toast which came with the syrup already on the French toast! Who does this??? Service wasn’t great either, had to wait a while on refills along with the bill and payment. This place is so overhyped but you can go down the road to Sophia’s in Beloit and have a far superior and cheaper breakfast. I’ll give 5 stars for atmosphere at least because of the view of the runway.
