Great food and service! Server Crystal was friendly and attentive. The red pepper bisque was delicious with just right taste of mild spicy. The handhelds (BBQ pork, turkey provolone) were terrific and the shoestring fries were crisp. Our only objection was a 4% charge for paying with a credit card. Knowing this, we paid cash.

My wife and I were excited to try the Black Pig. We drove from Elkhart Lake because we heard good things about this restaurant.
We ordered the deviled eggs. They looked delicious. The 3 different flavors didn't live up to their eye appeal. While they all tasted good, none of them were outstanding.My wife and I have prepared better tasting deviled eggs in our own kitchen.
My wife ordered the sea bass, it was excellent.
I couldn't decide between the flat iron wagu or the grilled Australian lamb loin or the Iberico pork pluma. Our waiter said hands down the GRILLED MISHIMA RESERVE WAGYU FLAT IRON @ $60 was the way to go. Medium rare was recommended temperature. When the steak arrived it looked delicious,I was excited to finally have a wagyu steak.I cut into it and immediately noticed much more resistance than was anticipated for a Wagyu quality steak.The first bite was chewy, tough and tendinitis. I gave my wife a piece,she chewed it and could barely get it down. Some of the pieces were more tender and other pieces were so bad I left on the plate. Overall it was one of the worst steaks I've eaten.I can't believe that's what wagyu is supposed to taste like.I rate that steak at a 2 of 5. Even the roasted carrot was so tough it was not eatable.I should have sent this steak back to the kitchen. Because other aspects of our dinner were good and I noticed other guests enjoying there meals I would rate The Black Pig at 3. I would probably not return because it is too far to travel for a mediocre meal. Also,they charge a 4% processing fee for using your credit card.For me, that alone is a reason not to return.

Amazing spot in downtown! Robbie is the best waiter, he gave amazing recommendations and was super knowledgeable about the entire menu!

We had the pork (Robbie’s suggestion) and it was melt in your mouth tender! The gumbo was great and don’t get scared by the heat, it really was very mild! Scallops were very fresh and the purple potato mash was a great side.

10/10 meal and I love that the menu changes to whatever is fresh and in season!

A standout Sheboygan lunch spot.

I stopped in for the shrimp tostadas lunch feature and was not disappointed. The tostadas were crisp, flavorful, and generously topped—just messy enough to justify switching to a fork halfway through. The side greens were fresh and bright, with a perfectly balanced vinaigrette. Service was attentive and friendly throughout.

This isn’t an everyday lunch spot for my budget, but it’s absolutely worth it when I want something fresh, elevated, and satisfying. Highly recommend!

Lots of interesting options here. Most I tried were pretty good! The grind of the burger gave a slightly undesirable texture in some bites. The flavor was decent, if not (surprisingly) a little muted given all the components.

The creme brulee was delicious and the lavender made it feel unique. The cheesecake had a strange overly-set texture to it (gelatin?) that was off-putting, alongside not having as much rich, tangy dairy flavor as I'd like.

I’ve been here several times and have had a nice experience in the past. However, this time was different… We were sat immediately with our reservation for Mother’s Day — a surprise for her. It was the day prior to the holiday, so not very busy. 3-4 tables sat down after us. We ordered drinks and they were brought out quickly; we ordered our entrees when the drinks were delivered.

Then the waiting began.

After 25+ minutes, we started watching the kitchen door, waiting for our food to appear. After 40, when all four tables that had come in after us were served and nearly finished eating, we called the server over to check in on our order. He said there’d been a large table who had ordered just before us, and they’d slowed the kitchen. We did notice the large party — but they were eating when we’d arrived!

After 50 minutes, we left cash on the table for the drinks and walked out.

I understand mistakes — missing the order, forgetting to enter it into the computer… but we expected an apology, a legit excuse, maybe even a comped appetizer to hold us over — not an easily disproved lie about a stalled kitchen. 1/5 stars for service.

Was very disappointed in their Easter buffer this year. Hardly any choices, no salad bar, just a bowl of lettuce and a pasta salad with no flavor. Ham was in same pan as Mac n cheese, which made everything too sweet. Only thing that was fairly decent was the omelet station. For 42 bucks a person no way worth it! Won't be back.

We ordered an Oat Fashioned and an Ocean And The Butterfly to drink.

Oat Fashioned is made with Kovel Oat Whiskey, House Luxardo Cherry Liqueur, Bitter Truth Orange Bitters, Frangelico, House Maple Whiskey, muddled orange and cherries and soda water. Served with a garnish of bacon and Luxardo Cherry. The oat flavor is definitely there, but not over powering. It was a unique twist to an old fashioned and really delicious.

Ocean And The Butterfly is made with Butterfly Pea Blossom Infused Field Notes Gin, Fruitful Strawberry Liqueur, Lime Juice, Organic Simple Syrup, Club Soda and Salt. The presentation was fantastic. This drink was floral, not too sweet and refreshing.

We ordered the Birria Quesadilla to share. It is made with corn tortillas which were nice and crispy. It was stuffed full of meat which was super tender and flavorful. The consume was DELICIOUS. It was thicker so you were really able to get it to grab on to the quesadilla and enjoy it with every bite.

Our server/bartender, Daniel, was friendly, had great customer service and makes great drinks.

If you find yourself in the Sheboygan area, we would highly recommend coming here. We will definitely be back to try something new.

Beautiful building very tasteful, lots of history. I loved everything about the Black Pig.
The beer and liquor selections are plentiful.
I had the winter spinach salad with grilled chicken breast so filling. It was very good. My husband had creamy onion soup, and he enjoyed it. Pulled pork was his sandwich choice. What a generous amount of pulled pork and shoestring French fries. He really enjoyed it. Very filling. We both enjoyed the Nitro Stout Beer! Lots of beautiful burbons to try next time in Sheboygan

This is one of those places designed to have a group leisurely sit and eat a meal over the course of a couple hours and drop $$$$$ at the end.

Food of course is amazing, with elements being hand made and customizations honored. I ordered the vegetarian gnocchi, and asked them to add some duck confit for protein. My aunt didn't like goat cheese, and they were happy to accommodate in removing it from her dish.

While the atmosphere and food is relaxed, this is still very much a high end, high priced restaurant

I've been Crush-ing on the idea of going to The Black Pig for a while, and let me tell you, there's So Much to Say about this place. I took my sister here as part of her Christmas gift, and the whole experience was pure magic. We kicked things off with some amazing cocktails - she had the "I'll Back You Up," (featuring J. Henry Small Batch Bourbon), while I went with the blood orange cosmo. Both were So Right!

For dinner, we both chose the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. I wanted to Stay and savor every bite, but honestly, I couldn't help myself, and I devoured it because it was just Too Much goodness. Every bite was tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

To finish, we shared the raspberry cheesecake, and wow, it was like Sweet Up and Down in dessert form. The vibe of the whole place was warm and inviting, with fun decor and an atmosphere that felt just right. Our server, Robbie, was awesome and gave thoughtful recommendations, making sure we loved every part of our meal.

This place is one of the Best of What's Around. I highly recommend checking it out, you'll leave feeling So Satisfied!

Stopped in for a late lunch on Friday afternoon as we were passing through Sheboygan on our way north. The two of us decided to split the Golden Bear Farms Pulled Pork Sandwich and an order of the truffle fries. We each ordered a "house" margarita. One sandwich, one order of fries and two drinks came to $61 not to mention an additional amount for the tip - an outrageous amount for what we got. The positives: our server was very friendly and efficient, the margaritas were excellent but small (and obviously overpriced for a "house" margarita - $13.50 each!) and the truffle fries were delicious. The sandwich, however, was disgusting and unbelievably small. There was barely any "house smoked Berkshire pork shoulder" and it was old and dry. The "house made artisan cheddar bacon roll" was stale and about the size of a cheap hamburger bun. It was soaked with grease from the pork. We had to look for the "Hooks 1 year aged cheddar cheese" (there was less than 1/2 oz), and there was no "creamy coleslaw" on the sandwich which was supposed to be included. We should have returned it, that's on us. To add insult to injury, we were charged $2.50 to split our order and $3.00 for using a credit card. We will not be back.

My family recently reserved The Lounge room at the Black Pig for a private event. The staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive, and the service was outstanding. We had a big group and we showed up early, and they pivoted quickly. Not to mention that the food is excellent and the atmosphere has a cozy, comfortable vibe. Worth every minute of the drive up to Sheboygan to enjoy this wonderful restaurant. Excellent selection of ciders, beers and wines, some you can’t find very easily. BEWARE OF AUTOMATIC GRATUITY. I wanted to give it 5 stars but the gratuity is automatically put on the check. When you're in a hurry and not checking it carefully and the credit card slip has a "tip" listed on it, I accidentally added another $20. Sadly I was charged for this extra tip and ended up paying a $45 tip on a $120 food. Very disappointed in myself for not being vigilant and this restaurant for quietly adding the gratuity. The server did not alert me to the automatic gratuity. Note that it was only 2 people in our party.

The service was great. The menu looked great but didn’t deliver. We could have gone back to the Wisconsin Room for the amount we spent… and there were a ton of kids at the restaurant.

As far as cocktails go - Oat fashioned was ok - too much soda in my opinion. The jalapeño business drink was good but quite sweet. The wine list was great and we really enjoyed the Frank Family Cabernet.

We had a bad cut of meat for the pork special - super tough and not well cooked. The mushroom toast looked great in pictures that others posted…. They must have run out of mushrooms as we got 2 pieces per crostini (as a price point reference- 4 slices of crostini for $17…. With hardly any mushrooms on them 🤷‍♀️) the risotto was ok at best. The lamb wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t anything special.

I had been super excited to try The Black Pig for quite some time. Finally an occasion arrived where my wife and I did so. Starting with the good, the atmosphere is astounding. The ambience is super relaxed and inviting. I ordered the Pork Pluma and my wife opted for the Lamb.
My dish was satisfactory; however, it left a bit to be desired. It wasn't overly warm and IMO it was the pork itself stealing the show. If you can make pork taste like a ribeye I commend you. The side paring was however a bit lack luster.
To avoid being too long winded, my wife had to have her lamb cooked further upon my request as to she was too reluctant to speak up after spitting it out. This is when our whole experience shifted. Our server went from relaxed and composed to a frantic and dare I say scared child. My wife felt terrible, but I felt even worse when the dish returned and she explained it as tasting like plain hamburger over spaghettios. In the end, she was on par. Through her disappointment our server remained awkward and timid. He rarely approached. His dialogue was short and stale. He went as far as knocking over our neighboring table silverware when picking up our tab. To that I say... Relax. It's not your fault a dish is sub par. We in no way expressed any of what I feel obligated to write here... But for $120 and a 25 percent tip a chef should know how to wow every dish and a server should not have their night ruined by a kindly asked request that bears no judgement on them (upfront).
Our advice: Remove what you can't hack from a menu.
Don't order the lamb
Train your servers to push the cocktails (they were fantastic)

Truffle Mac and cheese was bland and left me wanting more.

The other day, on Saturday, my fiance and I called to make a reservation, as we wanted a nice date night to go with our mini vacation we were on.

When my fiance asked the woman on the phone if he could make a reservation, she told us we didn't need one! Just come on in, there's no wait!
We arrived at the restaurant about 10 mins later, we had to drive there.
Walked in, and were asked if we had a reservation.. we said no, and that we just called.. "sorry, it's going to be a 45min wait"

Well apparently the lady on the phone failed to mention there was only ONE table left when we called to make a RESERVATION, and were turned down.
Beyond upset. I guess next time we will Insist on the reservation.

Me and my wife dined here for lunch and the food was phenomenal. We had the trio spread, empanadas and split a burger. Also got food for the evening (pastas) so we didn’t have to go out again.

Even though there was only one server everything was quick and she was working extremely hard. For sure one of my favorite spots (if not my favorite) we’ve had in Sheboygan!

I think the food is truly over priced!
Nothing spectacular; absolutely average, yet is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Sheboygan.
True I have only eaten at 6 restaurants, but this was not better than those and not as good as 2 others. The atmosphere is lovely. But I don't go out to eat for the atmosphere. That is just a plus.

Fine pub style dining in downtown Sheboygan. Diverse menu with some nice twists on classics and solid takes on standards. We started with the devil eggs du jour ours featured trout and the added trouffle fries. Beer options nice variety cocktail menu was outstanding Hello again and hybistic hog tasty. Dinners perfectly prepared, we tried sqaush gnocchi, pork Ragout, BBq pork mac, and a Haddock special that was exceptional. Heads up the prime rib sandwich portion size a little light. Other than that, it was a great overall experience.

The pros. Simply fantastic service, nice drink and whiskey selection. Well executed and interesting cocktail menu.

The cons. Creative food menu that is disappointingly over salted, and generally poorly executed. There are some excellent ideas here, but just not quite up to the price point. It's a great Bistro menu, prepared at a chain bistro level of competence.

Whiskey and cocktails are absurdly overpriced. Food is expensive for what you get. If eell executed with some responsible seasoning, this place would almost be worth the cost. As it is, there are better options.
