review just on booking experience (rooms have been fine in previous stays!) our reservation was over 10 days out and I seen the price dropped from originally booking. when speaking with Ashley in reservations she could see the originally booked reservation and the one I started with the cheaper price. after a long hold of her checking on things they do not price adjust bc "our room rates change daily so we dont adjust prices". ashley states i would nees to cancel my reservation and re book the room. I asked if she could do that while we are on the phone since my original reservation had a gift card and online you can not enter gift cards you have to call in. ashely stated she could only cancel and I had to book online... so, we hung up only for me to call reservations back and get ashley again saying "yes there isnt a way to add gift cards online". I was annoyed at this point and told her "you just told me that you could not cancel and re book my reservation and I had to do it online" to which she didnt respond to me. ashely completed the re booking at a cheaper price (even after having to pay their cancelation fee) and only partly applied the gift card. I asked her to apply the full gift card onto my reservation and she told me I could do that at check in and I once again said "can you please apply the full gift card balance onto my reservation like the first booking had". she then applied it and stated "you will need to bring the gift cards to check-in in case there are any issues".
I have stayed at many water park hotels in the state and not one has made me cancel and rebook when there is a cheaper price; they simply price adjust.

Brought our kids here. While we were there our 6 year old asked to come back again every week! Everything was accessible and it was awesome being right next to Lake Michigan and explore the beach. We plan to come back!

We enjoyed our stay in the resort. Good room, large variety of food, water park was no crowded and easy to access the different amenities. Beautiful scenery of the lake in fall. The Halloween event was very nice, and my kids enjoyed everything.

We had booked this hotel for 2 nights and stayed for only 1 night. It was extremely disappointing. We had a lake view room and the patio hadn't been cleaned for a long time. There were so many spider webs, spiders and dead bugs that we didn't want to walk out there (see pictures). There were dirty linens and trash on the floor by the bed. The room was dingy and outdated. We spent so much money hoping for a romantic getaway, but we were uncomfortable and went to stay somewhere else for the other night. We did ask for a refund, but we told if we left it would be "full forfeiture".

I love the Blue Harbor! We try to get out here once a year. Friendly staff, wonderful lake view with sounds of the lake, great conference center, room service, spa, water park, arcade, bar, & fantastic year round activities!!

My only suggestion would be to get better/more menu options for their Beacon Restaurant like they used to have!

But we will be back for sure!!

Went to check for a room for one night said they only do a minimum of 2. Asked if they had a restaurant . He said for guest only ,ok then. Very rude. Wouldnt ever go there again. I guess an empty parking lot is better than a one night stay. Lol

Was such a nice and relaxing time. The rooms were nice and the view was beautiful, even during the off season! The staff goes above and beyond as well...I accidentally left my passport in my room and they mailed it to me, their hospitality extended my actual stay with them!

We really did enjoy our stay. I know it's after labor day. The breakfast buffet was inedible. Sausages were stuck together like glue. Danish that appeared to have been frozen and eggs from a bag! No toast, no butter and no jam or jelly??
This wasn't a buffet, it was a continental breakfast and you have the balls to charge $18!
Exterior is looking kind of tired.
You have a beautiful location. You just need the amenities to go with it

Beautiful location! Wonderful service! Will be coming back. Only complaint is not a lot of parking for the villa’s given that some can room up to 11 people and only have 2 parking spots….but everything else makes up for that tiny flaw haha

Beautiful place and we really enjoyed our stay! My one plea would be that the management make the doors from the lobby to the lakefront more open, accessible, and welcoming to guests. We felt like we were sneaking around to get to the water -- which was the whole reason we chose to stay here!

Family used to vacation here every summer. We'd say in the villas near the beach and the housekeeping staff was great. However, the service progressively got worse and worse. There are great amenities (waterpark, pool, arcade, etc.) to keep people entertained and the town has got some little gems. However, given the fact the cost continued to increase and the service continued to progressively worse, we found different vacation spot.

We stayed in the Kid Aquarium Suite Ground Level Lake Side the first week in September. The resort is gorgeous, the weather was rather cold so outdoor experiences were canceled except the fire pit. The waterpark is great but we were disappointed that the mini golf was down due to renovation. It would been great to know what was down when we were booking as we wanted to take advantage of everything. I gave thw room 4 stars because the beds weren't comfy but the room overall was spacious and clean. We chose to eat at local restaurants nearby. However, I had the BEST massage at the hotel spa by Adam. I highly highly recommend booking spa services at the resort!

WORST FOOD EVER and even worse wait staff for my 40th birthday dinner. Not one single person enjoyed their food. Meals came out cold, under cooked, sloppy and cheaply put together. Quite frankly we will never eat at the restaurants here again along with our entire group. Everyone spent money on food that should have been taken back. I do not think the cooks are capable of gourmet food as was described to me when I decided to have the dinner at the resort. We were the ONLY people in the entire restaurant, there were 2 waitresses and they could not be more rude or incapable of handling our group. It seems that their is no leadership able to train and run this establishment at a level where they claim to be. I was embarrassed by the service and putting my family and friends through this experience. Money down the drain.|Our captain suite was ill kept. I had housekeeping come as soon as we got there to vacuum and take out trash that was clearly left behind by previous guests. For the price we were charged, walking into this suite was a huge disappointment for my entire family. The upholstered couch and chair I wouldn't even sit in because of the stains and smell. It's so run down and a complete eye sore. I brought my own cleaning sprays and wiped everything down including the fridge that was also left untouched from the previous guests. |We were married here and continue to come multiple times a year for birthdays, celebrations and anniversaries and everytime there are more and more issues and disappointments. The owner has this property on Lake Michigan and that is the only reason why we come. I don't even think the owner would pay money to stay here.

Overall, we were very underwhelmed. For the price you pay you’d expect a water park like the Kalahari or Wilderness. There are 2 tube-slides, a small lazy River, 1 pool, and then 2 little kids areas. 1 days worth (if that!) suffices this hotel. Very disappointed with the price to thrill ratio. Additionally, the snack bar staff seem to be disgruntled high schoolers. I waited 30 minutes for a chicken wrap, chicken tenders, and a sandwich. I sat and watched the cook make a pizza before dropping the chicken tenders into the fryer. Very little experience with food service. After standing there for 30 minutes the girl asked me if I needed anything and I said “I’m still waiting on my order.” And she said “oh, ok, we’re working on it.”……

Our experience with the event coordinator at Blue Harbor Resort was extremely disappointing. After we toured and were ready to move forward, I requested a contract and expected clear communication. Instead, weeks went by with no response — nearly three weeks of silence. When communication did finally resume, it came in the form of a late-night email at 1 a.m. on a Friday.

For couples planning a wedding, responsiveness and professionalism are crucial. Unfortunately, this coordinator failed to provide either. During our in-person meeting, her presentation was equally unprofessional — even down to basic appearance, which came across as careless and lacking respect for clients. The lack of follow-through and disregard for timely communication wasted valuable planning time and left us feeling frustrated rather than supported.

Blue Harbor Resort itself is a beautiful venue with potential, but the coordination process we experienced was disorganized and unprofessional. If management addressed these issues, the experience for future couples could be much smoother. Until then, I cannot recommend this coordinator for anyone looking for a reliable and stress-free planning process.

We rented the 4 bedroom villa for the weekend. While the space was nice the place was rundown and dirty. For almost 900.00/night I was not impressed. Floor boards in kitchen were full of grime and dust. Holes in the wall in master bathroom. Kleenex empty, shower gels empty in bathrooms. Toilet seats were all loose and almost falling off. We pulled a chair away from the wall to find a plug and there was old food behind it. Vent in dining room ceiling was so covered in dust disgusting. Brought all this to the attention of the front desk when we checked out and all she said was “Oh sorry!” Also asked for a late check out and was told it was 30$ an hour. While we enjoyed the water park and the grounds we were disgusted with the cleanliness.

I’m honestly shocked that people give this place 5 stars.||This was our first stay, and unfortunately it will likely be our last unless major updates are made.||The rooms were outdated and dirty. Our shower soap dispensers were empty (we discovered this mid-shower), and housekeeping had to come refill them. The pull-out couch was full of crumbs and food from a previous guest—absolutely gross. Everything just gave you that “ick” feeling.||The waterpark was the biggest disappointment. Mold, rust, algae, and dirt were everywhere, especially in high-traffic areas. Some of the rust was so bad it’s literally eating through the metal. It didn’t feel safe or sanitary at all, and I honestly don’t know how it passes inspection.||The food was extremely overpriced and very limited. The breakfast buffet was $20 per person for just a handful of items. You’re better off going to one of the many nearby restaurants.||Bottom line: If you can look past the cleanliness and outdated facilities, the concept itself is fun. But at this price point, I expect a clean, safe, and sanitary resort—especially when it’s marketed as a family destination. It’s a shame, because the place has potential, but it desperately needs a full renovation and much better upkeep. Until then, I can’t recommend it.

Overall, we had a nice stay. We appreciate the comfortable beds and quiet atmosphere compared to other waterpark hotels.
However, the bathroom appeared to have never been cleaned properly - the grout was chipped and laying loose on the floor and the bathroom exhaust fan was caked in dust so badly that the fan did not work. Unfortunately, the worst part about our stay is that we had a faulty lock on our room entry door. Maintenance stated that IT needed to look at it, then IT stated we just need to open and close our door until it locks. I understand technology has its downsides; however, we had to open/close our door as many as 40 times while pulling the handle and door in different directions before it would lock. There was also no way to ensure it locked when we were in the room, so we had to make sure to use the manual chain and deadbolt. This was a very big inconvenience and made us anxious about the security of our room.

We stayed at Blue Harbor Resort and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Our villa was directly in front of ongoing construction, with workers and heavy equipment operating just feet from where we were staying. Even the workers themselves commented that it was unsafe and surprising that the resort would rent out those villas during renovations. Each morning we opened our blinds to find workers just inches away from our windows. It was loud, disruptive, and more than inconvenient—especially with kids around.||On top of that, several things in the villa were not in working order. Both bathroom tubs were clogged and would fill with water during showers, taking over an hour to drain. The dryer did not work properly, and after two hours of running it, damp swimsuits were still wet. The ceiling fans in the bedrooms were covered in thick dust, which was off-putting.||The only positives were the waterpark and the location, which were enjoyable. While we did receive a credit for the inconvenience, the villa should not have been rented out in the first place under those conditions. Overall, we left feeling very unhappy with our stay.

We stayed in the four bedroom villa. The beach and outdoor area were clean. The villa itself was less than expected. The showerhead in the master bathroom had black mold/slim on it, so we couldn't use it. The double doors leading to the water heater were open when we arrived. Someone had covered the entire floor and water heater with towels.... This place wasn't worth the price we paid.

I would recommend going here for the day, doing the waterpark. The hotel has a beautiful view of lake michigan and a great beach area. But I would not recommend spending the night. When you spend $400 for a night at a hotel you have expectations for the room, this room reminded me of a run down motel. The blankets on bunk beds were the size of a towel. We had ants in the room. The pull out bed had food in it. The bag of extra blankets for that pull out bed had the same food in them too! So it was obviously not washed. The mini fridge barely worked. Just overall was very disappointed in the quality of the room for the money.

We stayed in a villa at Blue Harbor. Our experience was wonderful and is perfect for traveling with a young family. Our grandchildren are 3,4,and 5. My husband is older and it was so easy to take the short walks from the beach to the waterpark, and to the swimming pool. The beach which is public was carefully taken care of and never crowded. The sand was perfect, soft and easy to walk on and the shallow water area stretched quite far out into the lake and made it ideal for families. Do be aware that you need to bring your own lounge chairs and water toys as the boutique does not offer a lot. The waterpark was just the right size and not too overwhelming but fun for all age groups. The food was good, but not outstanding. We ate at a couple of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel for pizza and casual menus appropriate for our group. I highly recommend this resort and think we will return.

Second time coming here. We had fun all around. But we may not be back. It’s just dirty. It doesn’t matter what time of
Day you go outside, there is seagull poop and bugs all over all the patio furniture. No one ever seems to be out wiping them down. There are huge amounts of dead bugs all over the side of the building. The outside pool was the worst. Covered in bugs. The waterpark could use some TLC. I just want to take a power washer to this whole place! Beach was gross. Dead fish and feathers and stuff everywhere. Just needs a good raking. It seemed like every staff member we came across (while all were very nice) was on their 4th day on the job. Breakfast service was so slow and way overpriced. You get a bigger spread at the cheap hotels free breakfast buffets. Manager came by and told one of workers to clean some tables (tables stay dirty around here with empty glasses for quite some time), but then walked away and was leaning on a wall looking at his phone. Overgrown bushes everywhere covering walkways so you have to step out on the street just to get by. I really hope someone comes in and refurbishes and cleans up the place. Pays attention to The details and the guest experience. This place has SO much potential. Bummed out.

We arrived 7/25/25 and stayed for just one night. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful. We had arrived around 1 and our room wasnt ready yet, but they provided us with wristbands and let us know where to park and where we could change so that we could get swimming right away. The waterpark was great for our kids (12,9,6). The older kids enjoyed the slides, pool area, and riptide surfing. Our youngest had fun everywhere - especially the outdoor pool. *The lifeguards are AMAZING*!!

We had dinner from On The Rocks Bar and Grill. Our pizza, blt, and French dip were all very good - surprisingly good, honestly. We also had some great drinks and service from Rick while we waited. He handled a pretty decent rush all by himself. For lunch the next day, the kids had burgers and a hot dog from inside at the rocky bottom snack shack. My husband got a chicken quesadilla from the sandbar outside. Again, all food was so good.

Our room was extremely clean and I thought the beds were super comfy with very nice bedding. I never heard our neighbors.

My only complaints were the fact that there was a section of the waterpark that was closed off, and I'm pretty sure the mini golf was under construction - it was open, but it seems like it was condensed to a smaller section while the rest is being redone.

We had a fantastic stay at Blue Harbor Resort! Check-in was a breeze, and we were pleasantly surprised to have someone help us unload and bring our bags up to our room — such a great start! We stayed in a lake view family suite, which was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view.

Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond. Later in the day, we ordered two non-alcoholic drinks and the bartender insisted they were on the house — such a kind gesture!

The waterpark was clean, fun, and well-run. We were especially impressed by how seriously the staff took safety; we even witnessed a lifeguard drill, which gave us extra peace of mind. The beach is just a 30-second walk from the resort, and in the evening they had bonfires and yard games, which made for a perfect end to the day.

Been going here for 10+ years. One of the most dangerous room I’ve been in, from 2015-2022 the rooms were clean and good. I returned in 2025 to Blue Harbor and this is what I see.. broken pin in the plug, called maintenance and no one came, turned off the GCFI outlet and decided to take it out myself, worked. Filthy roof, pool was nice but I’m completely out of things to do here since I’ve done everything over the years.. $750 I’ve spent and it really isn’t up to par. Large crumbs that almost had mold in the couch bed..

Family friendly place! Indoor miniature golf was under construction, though there is a place across the street that offers outdoor miniature golf! Indoor water park was great for our group (ages 5-13). Outdoor pool was a bonus! Beach is waking distance, bonfires offered on the weekends. Great place to get away for a long weekend with the kids! Plan meals accordingly if you have more than 6 people, the restaurants on the pier didn't have as much accommodations as driving into town did!

Great concept and impressive from the outside with pretty views of Lake Michigan. However, the resort is in need of a major renovation, especially the rooms. We stayed in a family suite (2nd floor with a lake view) and it was more of a motel quality. Bathroom was small with mold/mildew all around the toilet and grout. Vent fan looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. Plumbing issues in room that were not fixable on the spot after maintenance was called, including that the shower/tub doesn’t drain while you shower and also the sink near the mini fridge area didn’t drain while using it either. Appears that this is a known issue for the rooms. Balcony in need of a deep cleaning as well as the half wall and ceiling in the room. The beds and bedding were not very comfortable. Bring your own if you can. ||The kids enjoyed the water park and arcade. Outdoor pool area was nice. For the size of the resort it could be bigger though. Lobby area and Shoreline Cafe were also nice. We grabbed coffee daily from the cafe. ||We went to restaurants outside of the resort within walking distance. Service at the bar and restaurants within the resort seemed inconsistent. Difficulty getting good service at the bar for happy hour. Inconsistent pricing depending on the worker for the alcoholic beverage specials at the area in the water park. Workers never showed up to work the outdoor grill so that was also closed. ||Recommend going to the area across from the parking lot with shops, restaurants, and mini golf! This was very cute. Our favorites were Harry’s Prohibition Bistro, the ice cream shop, and Eb Flo. ||We would come back but only once the rooms undergo a major renovation.

My family had a wonderful experience here. My two kids ages 6 and 7 had a blast. The water park was clean and tons of fun. The pool outside was great and walking distance to the beach was lovely. We did smores, arcade and went into town. We had a ground level family suite lake view. Stayed Monday-Thursday. No lines at the water park! We did not eat at the hotel so I can’t rate the food. I would suggest going downtown and exploring for food options there! The hotel can be a tad loud but it’s a water park hotel so what can you do?! Other than that I have 0 complaints. We will 100% return and most likely will stay during the week.

A very outdated hotel with a staff which seems to have zero experience within the hospitality industry. Signs advertising specials were not up to date and also not honored by the staff. Called the front desk to ask for something, but nobody answered so hung up after 15 rings. When I went to the front desk to ask for the same thing, they had “no idea” why someone didn’t answer. We asked several employees questions about things to which their answer was “I don’t know or I’m not sure”. One elevator was not working, shower did not drain so water stayed in the tub, wet bar sink also backed up
, and hallways have a musty, old smell. Extremely outdated rooms!

The waterpark is a great value and lifeguards are on their A game. Several deflated tubes for the slides and lazy river which shows a sign of laziness! Food stand never had the same prices for the same things (food or beer refills) whenever ordered.

The price incurred for the weekend is way over the top compared to the overall customer experience. For being the so called “Malibu of the Midwest”, one would think it would be more up to par than it is.

To the ownership and management of this “report”, hopefully you try to do better to avoid one-and-done customers.

Our family really enjoyed the Blue Harbor Resort. The rooms were a little outdated but they were clean. We loved having our back door open up to the lawn. My son really enjoyed the waterpark, pool, arcade, and beach. We enjoyed the beautiful views of Lake Michigan. We did not eat at the resort restaurants, so I can't say how the food was. We did have some snacks in the waterpark restaurant and those were fine.

The resort and property are gorgeous. The staff was excellent!! Our room was perfect. We had the whirlpool + walk out to the grass/firepits and it was gorgeous. The chairs at the top of the beach were picturesque. Last time I was there (must've been when you first opened) there was no beach and the beach all along the property was clean & such a great experience for us as first time vacationers. There were so many kid activities and a story time, smores by the fire. Family friendly but I would absolutely go there for a getaway with just my hubs too.

Two nights stay at blue Harbor was more than enough. Given the $700 price per night you would think they were in the high season however, numerous parts of the waterpark were closed, the mini golf is under renovation, the buildings around ours were under renovation, which started at 8 AM. I would think all these issues would’ve transpired prior to Memorial Day or after Labor Day in order to give the best guest experience for the money…but did not prove to be the case.

Fantastic place to visit. The waterpark staff is well trained and very professional. The rooms are clean and very nice. There are fire pits, cornhole games, and a huge beach right behind it on the lake.

Went for an overnight getaway in mid June, weekdays, and had a wonderful time. The resort is impressive to see from any direction. We stayed in a King suite, requested a lake view room when we made our reservation and had a beautiful view of the lake. The balcony has two chairs and the side rails are shared with the balconies on either side. The days we were here the resort was quiet, we never had neighbors on either side. ||There were just the two of us on this trip, but we saw plenty of families with kids of all ages from little kids to teens, and other couples as well. Basically this resort has something for everyone. Everyone we saw looked like they were having a good time.||All the staff we spoke to were super friendly and helpful.||ROOM: Very clean. The carpet and sofa are showing some age, but everything was clean. Bathroom was sparkling.||WATERPARK: We didn't use the water park on this stay, so I can't comment on that. We did take a peek at it - it's a good size (enough for teens to do while also being manageable for families wtih smaller kids). There are lifeguards.||OUTDOOR POOL: Small outdoor pool. Plenty of chairs and there was a lifeguard on duty when we were here. The pool area faces the lake and is fenced in.||LAWN AREA: This resort has a very large well maintained grassy lawn area between the back of the resort and the lake. The side near the pool has outdoor games set up (Bags, giant chess) and there's outdoor fire pit areas with adirondack chairs. The staff lights the fire pits in the evening, we sat by one for awhile and it was really nice. ||BEACH/LAKEFRONT: This isn't specifically a swimming beach, but it runs the length of the resort and it's nice to walk along or sit by. It connects to a large sandy public beach. No lifeguards. The resort has a few chairs placed at different intervals along the grassy areas at the top of the beach. The grass along the beach area is native grasses and it's all very natural looking. There's a cement walking trail and a short wooden walkway as well. Plenty of people were out walking along the beach, playing in the sand, some in the water.||FITNESS CENTER: We did use the fitness center. It has treadmills, stationary bikes, free weights, and some ab-work benches and a pully weight machine. It was clean and had small towels. Had mirrors and a full set of windows looking out toward the pool area. ||RESTAURANTS: We didn't eat at those, so I can't comment. The gift shop serves coffee and ice cream, we got coffee. ||TIP: If you check the time of the sunrise, and your lake view room is toward the middle or south end of the resort, you'll probably be able to see the sunrise from your room balcony. If you don't have a lake view/obstructed view it's a short walk to the yard/beach to watch the sunrise from there. Resort lakeside faces SE so facing the lake the sunrise will be slightly to the left at true East. ||TIP: Keep Heads Up crossing the paved path to get to the beach as it's used by not only pedestrians but the occasional electric scooter.

Although you can see the wear and tear in the furniture and the features, it feels less neglected and more “well loved”. Service is amazing and easily accessible.

The water park is no Great Wolf but enough for the kids as there is also a beach right outside your door.

Food is above average for a resort and offers mostly American fare.

Our place to stay when coming up here from Illinois. We love coming here for the property and location. The grounds along the lake are a bonus. Our only constructive criticism is if you're coming here prior to "the season" that starts around early to mid June, you'll find in house restaurant services barely operational. We might have had an extra breakfast an a dinner on site if otherwise. However, thanks to Sam who took care of us at breakfast. All staff and housekeeping are friendly too. Another pet peeve is the resort charge (if the water park, spa and on-site restaurant is barely operational at our time of visit, why the charge? Also, a $30 charge for up to a one hour later checkout. Really? That's gouging. Should have been told up front by the reservation desk.

This is the worst experience I ever had in my entire life traveling all over the world, even though the location and the rooms are not bad but the service is the cheapest service I ever seen, there was nothing in the room no drinking water at all, the refrigerator was completely empty, no water to make coffee at all, there was a coffee machine with 2 coffee buds but could not use them because no water, the rooms cost almost sublime if the cost of any hotel in the same area. At over $280 the cost of one room for one night they could afford putting 2 bottle of water that cost them less than 20 cent each for drinking and 2 bottles for the coffee machine, what a cheep management do greedy for money never seen in my life. Run run get yourself or your family any hotel around would be much pleasurable stay than this resort

Beautiful resort. Staff was lazy in not wanting to light two fires for Memorial Day weekend even though the maintenance women drove past it twice. Our room had no soap/shampoo when we checked in so someone really lagged on cleaning it which is gross. Pool had a funky smell, but lifeguards were INCREDIBLE, very attentive. Also didn’t notify us or anyone that the glow in the dark miniature golf course is closed. Ate at lobby restaurant/bar and the server was very slow moving and complained to us a lot about his day, it was odd. Would come back for the location to the beach but no expectations from staff unfortunately.

It was a perfect getaway from Chicago. The staff was extremely nice-especially Matt the food and beverage manager! The views are truly amazing from the lake view units. We really enjoyed that part! We stayed recently my sons birthday and didn't realize the park closed at 6pm. My fault for not checking prior but I think that should be told too right at check in. So unfortunately our swimming was cut short after some dinner which bummed my kiddo out. Again, my fault for not looking prior but 6pm is early. Any chance you can have some parts of the pool available on not so busy days? I think you should consider those families who stay through the week/weekend. It's not that great of an experience when the place is a ghost town and everything shuts down at 6pm. Have at least the pool/hot tub available to enjoy on the off season. There used to be such great ice cream options there in the past and now it is just Gelato that doesn't look very appealing in the case. Bring back some good flavored ice cream! Also, the older lady working the shop wasn't super friendly in the morning. Forgot to ask for another hot chocolate and it seemed to bother her. 🙃 All good. Still tipped her, hope her day got better. My last thought after leaving the property was how they could lower the price on residential open swim on Sundays. I had about 7 people with me that wanted to swim, hence the reason we got the room because that's how much the room would have costed. $40 per residential person is a bit high. It would be more busy for you if you'd offer it a lesser price and would give our kids a fun place to let out some energy!

In all nice stay, just some things could be changed I think to make the place more successful during the off season months. Too beautiful of a place for it to be such a ghost town! 🙌

Our room was great, we had the kid acquarium. The only downside was that it didn't seem cleaned very well. Lots of really old looking cobwebs on the ceiling and dust on various parts of the furniture.

We called to RVSP for the Mother's Day brunch buffet but never received a call back. We then found out the next day that reservations were full. We had to eat brunch at their upstairs restaurant instead, which had an extremely unimpressive menu. My wife ordered the stuffed french toast that said it came with cherries, but instead came with blueberries (which she hates). Double disappointment for Mother's Day.

Our server was great, however. This wasn't her fault.

Waterpark gets a good review but overall resort is quite disappointing. Pros - waterpark is clean, safe and lifeguards are attentive (best for under age of 10 besides the surfing). Cons - rooms are dated and need maintenance (no working tv remotes, ants in the bathroom, peeling wallpaper by kids beds, paint on curtains). We ate at On the Rocks and the menu was reduced, terrible service and only two tables were full. Finally we were told the next day the kitchen was down due to sprinklers randomly going off and ruining the floors. Spoke to a manager who just stared at me like deer in headlights. I don't understand all the good reviews. So disappointing, especially for what they charge here.

Money down the drain.
Our captain suite was ill kept.

We generally love this place and have returned a few times. In our most recent stay, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of our room. The ceiling fans were covered in dust and the carpets were in need of a deep cleaning. The staff was not as friendly as they have been in the past. The life guards were really particular about measuring my 3 year old son every time he went down the same slide. He was tall enough, but that didn't stop them from harassing him each time he attempted the same slide. The kid running the towel stand didn't want to fold towels so he was handing out whatever came out of the dryer. Just unprofessional.

We stayed in one of The Loft suites. It was comfortable for our family of 4. I always appreciate the fireplace. The view was spectacular. My youngest really wanted room service, which we didn't realize isn't available. The waterpark is starting to lose its appeal for more than one day, which is unfortunate with a 2 night minimum. The breakfast service at On The Rocks was painfully slow. We almost left because we didn't even get menus when we were seated, & it took a long time for anyone to come to our table. Our server was very friendly & attentive, but I wouldn't go there again for breakfast. I can't speak to lunch or dinner service. It's a beautiful resort. If you haven't gone before you certainly should. There are off-site dining options nearby & the view is beautiful.

Amazing family getaway with a toddler! The waterpark kept our 3 year old entertained and we also had a blast in the arcade and playing mini golf. Great location for a walk on the beach - we plan to come back in warmer weather so we can fully enjoy the city, beach, and bonfires in the evening. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the 2 bedroom villa setup was great to not have to sit in the dark after toddler bedtime. The villas were spacious and clean but were a bit dated and could use some new furniture. Blue Harbor’s location is great, within walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, etc. and the downtown stretch is just a short drive (or a long walk in warmer months). So where do I begin, let's start with the room we had was the captain suite (1000 dollars for 2 nights) which had a full kitchen. First night there we put some pizzas in the oven to make them with foil under them. Opened the oven and smoke just poured out, room filled with smoke and no windows to open. The oven must not of been cleaned since last people. We call front desk and maintenance comes up. TO FIX THE PROBLEM THEY REMOVED THE SMOKE DETECTORS!!! I said what if there is a fire, he said it will be OK. Now our room smells like smoke all night. We go into our room and the TV does nothing, had to unplug everything to get it reset so we can watch TV. Next morning get up to shower and the shower barely drains so I'm standing in 3 inches of water. My son uses the toilet that night and it barely flushes and had to get maintenance to bring a plunger. The tiles by the tub are missing grout and looks gross. The whole time we got no sleep due to the beds being as hard as a rock. Not what we thought we would get for a 1000 dollars to celebrate our sons 13th birthday. Hopefully they contact us to refund our money if they care.

Highly recommend the Boat House room for anyone staying with more than one child. Brought three kiddos here between 5-7 and they had an absolute blast. The room was HUGE. The water park was warm on a cold winter day, we could see so much of the water park from our table we chose and the kids felt like they could be independent. The slides were so fun for the kids and us adults and there was never long lines for any of the slides! I would say this waterpark is perfect for kids under about 12. Our room was ready ahead of time and they let us in free of charge! You can come before your room is ready to use the water park and stay in the water park after check out for as long as you’d like!

A few things:
1. I really wish they didn’t have a 2 night minimum stay most of the year because we live only about 30 min away and would come here WAY more often for a little over night. Also HAVE AFFORDABLE DAY PASSES! People in this area WANT to come here, if it could be like $30 a person kids under 5 free so many families would love to spend a day here and not just on Sundays..
2. Our bed was extremely uncomfortable
3. One of the kids hit the Jackpot on one of the games in the arcade and it did not give him the near 600 points on his card.. management wasn’t able to give him the points and it was hard to try to tell a 6 year old there was nothing we could do. We will be avoiding the arcade next time.

Other than those few things everything was next to perfect!

First time here. Quite expensive for the quality. Water was cold. Hot tub is for 16 years and older only. Bummer when your kids want to use it with their adult but they can't. Service in the Waterpark concession was very slow. Hotel hallways were freezing. The heater in the room was loud and turned on frequently. Mini golf was a disappointment for the price. Go look at the course before buying tickets so you know what your getting yourself into.
The pool was clean and so were the rooms. Just expected better quality for the price. This was a one and done experience for me.

It was my first time here with my family for a short weekend and wow, I was very impressed at the size and space of our room. It also looked very clean. The furniture and decor was beautiful, not outdated like other hotels I've been to. Staff was helpful and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Got to our room quick and easily.

My only two complaints would be first, I really wished the waterpark had a shallow "pool" for babies and young toddlers to sit and splash in. I have a 1.5 year old and I was disappointed to find out that that was not something they had considering they're a family friendly resort. Secondly, the pillows were not very comfortable. I did not have a good night's rest because of that. If I ever come back I'd rather bring my own pillows.

Overall, great resort. Just a few things that can be improved.

Really great location and the staff at the restaurant was very nice! However, the room was quite disappointing as we paid for the nicer room - the jacuzzi tub was great but the shower was very short and did not have hot water. Quite the disappointment. Additionally, be warned that they close their arcade 15 minutes prior to the actual close. This is on their website, but unfortunately you can’t check your card balance once it is near the end of their evening. It was disappointing as the kids were sad they couldn’t play games until 8 (which I’ll admit was my fault but still a bummer when it says it closes at 8:00)

This is an update. Our first night was lovely in the room. On the second day, we wanted to have a nice evening in the jacuzzi but it only had cold/luke-warm water. The front desk “called maintenance” but I’m very disappointed that we paid extra for a feature we couldn’t use. Definitely avoid this hotel if you are looking for a romantic weekend with your partner. Quite disappointed.

Went a night for my kid's birthday, had a nice time but some feedback for blue harbor. First, food service at the restaurant was really strained, definitely need more staff. Went for dinner and breakfast and both times they only had one server and getting food and drinks took a long time and was very frustrating. For breakfast, if there isn't enough staff for the restaurant then you gotta do continental or a buffet or something since serving each table clearly isn't working.

Finally, the water park is great but there's a gap for ages 4-6 where there isn't as much stuff for them to do. At kalahari there is a nice younger kids area with a lazy river that is shallower and a more dedicated area for them. The pool could have a shallower end for those younger kids, too. One of our kids was able to get more out of the park but the younger one wasn't.

We spent a cold, winter weekend night at Blue Harbor Resort and oh the fun we had. The rooms were excellent!! Very clean, stocked with everything you need, and very spacious. The indoor waterpark was just the right size. Kids spent 4 hours swimming each day. Our most favorite part was the bonfire near Lake Michigan and free s'mores at the front desk. Food court was very tasty and affordable. My only complaint, for the amount you pay for the room and resort fees, putt-putt golf and the wave rider should be included.

Originally looked at going to the Wisconsin Dells (Kalahari) with three kids under 4 years old. It seemed pretty expensive considering all three kids wouldn’t be able to enjoy most of the slides and activities there. We found Blue Harbor and got a condo-style Lakeview room for a fraction of the cost of something comparable in the Dells. The water park is great for kids of all ages! The staff were very friendly. They can’t get the food right, especially coffee shop and breakfast food is horrible overall they got figure out better food and taste hire maybe cook real one vs raise prices only . I come here for years I know and seen it all . I’m loyal to your hotel but so many managers change all is same if not worse with years . I don’t think anyone listens to feedback . Also, I have never seen soup where they give you like a 2 oz soup cup for in a small dessert coup ??? . I would not mind paying you $10 to buy it, but come on, this cup is not for soup at all. Why do you do this?? I ask why you do this is not helping your place !!
Well, coffee was cold almost. The muffin is hard like rock. I know they are old and saving money . Saving like on those items doesn’t help your resort. For Christmas, they run out of ginger cookies lol dessert lol. How can that happen?
the owner needs to invest own money to get bring new revenue This way is not working for you

The huge barrel bucket that drops water in park from celling is broken for years I know that never works ? Why ? so you can’t find money to fix the bucket you letting the place brake a part that is just one example

The place has lot potential I would advise owner go to Kalahari resort wi get ideas from there implement to your place

Very nice, well appointed and cared for on the shores of Lake Michigan. Also, nice restaurants immediately in surrounding area. Great atmosphere with the waterpark.
