Restaurant was busy everything went by it so we decided to go in for dinner. I ordered the wings. 10 wings with fries $18.99. I had the barbecue wings and they were good. 3 drummys and 7 flappers ( not sure on what the actual names ) they were bigger in size. Others in the party had burgers and said they were okay.

I decided to have the 10oz Prime Rib dinner to go. I ordered onion rings which were pretty awesome. The prime rib had been sliced in 2 pieces and was dry & a bit over cooked. I added the juice but tge steak was dry. I ordered cole and it was pretty plain with no seasoning.

We hosted a rehearsal dinner for our son’s wedding this past Friday night at Blue Moon in their lounge. Kim the catering coordinator did a wonderful job communicating with us and checking in leading up to the event. They had the room set up beautifully for us when we arrived and accommodated extra guests we invited at the last moment. I wish I knew the bartenders name that served us b/c she was AWESOME! So friendly and letting us know where our tab was at, making sure everyone had enough to eat and drink. Lastly, the food was delicious and exceeded our expectations. Blue Moon will always be on our list of stops when we are in the area. We THANK YOU!

We always try to find a local restaurant when traveling. The Blue Moon was the best selection! I would describe this location as an upscale local tavern. Been here before but today we came in with our 3 kids one being in a car seat and they didn’t try to assist us then a waitress came up and rudely said it’s seat yourself knowing there are no open tables suitable for our family and two tables that would have worked but two were dirty. So we left staf kept giving us dirty looks. Then looked around to see we were the only biracial family in that place so made me feel very uncomfortable. Feels like a typical dive bar with some tables for dinner. They’re famous for their wings however they do not have a dry rub wing would love to have them have a dry rub. Lots of black flies flying around. Would be nice if they had something somewhere in the building to attract those two.

Blue Moon exceeded our expectations! Great breakfast at a great price with exemplary service. Despite the massive (and well-deserved) crowd on a beautiful Sunday morning, we were seated and served quickly. The bartender was amazing and made the perfect Bloody Marys. My companion was excited to see that they were served (correctly) with a beer back. Food was outstanding, and surprisingly fast! Beautiful view of Lake Onalaska across the road. Definitely worth a stop, we’ll be back!

Nice restaurant, I’ve been here before but never ordered food. I got the Nashville hot chicken and it was ok just tasted like cumin and buffalo sauce. The amount of fries was like a small McDonald’s fry and the ranch was tangy- which I don’t like.

What bothered me was the flies that wouldn’t leave us alone and the fact that the restaurant had no fly swatter. Yuck. Also that the meal was almost $18 so with tip it was $22 for just a sandwich and a small fry. Not worth it at all. I might go again but I’m definitely not running back just based off the ranch. Servers were nice and attentive.

Having to provide an update as of June 2025.

My wife and I stopped by for some drinks on a Tuesday evening, and were immediately sat outside at our request.

We sat for 15 minutes with no service, as multiple staff members serviced other tables, directly walking past us. We are talking 3 servers handling 1 individual table a piece, out on the small deck.

After 20 minutes had elapsed, I went and spoke to the bartender, who refused to let me order drinks for my table, and instead went to rouse the proper server for my table. Less than a minute later, a server appeared to take our initial drink order.

Another 10 minutes later, and no drinks later, we decided to leave. To provide a bit of atmosphere, there were more staff present than patrons. Truly disappointed, not the service we have been used to at the Blue Moon.

Mikaela made our experience even more great than it was. She was very friendly & attentive. This was the first time here. Good variety of selections of food. I chose the East Coast Chicken sandwich with a side of cottage cheese. Very good sandwich. My friend had one of the specials of the day which was a cod sandwich with steak black bean soup. I saw my past review and felt the need to update. My dad's and I go here for breakfast almost every single Saturday. We know most of the staff and always get a friendly greeting and great service. The food is always wonderful. My only complaint is man, this place gets loud! The service is fine and I think maybe the breakfast menu is better, but it seems like a lot of menu items on the dinner menu just have something "off" about them. For example, I ordered a Caesar Salad with no tomatoes because that already was weird to offer on a Caesar. It came with mixed greens and not the traditional romaine lettuce. I don't many people that would ever expect that a Caesar to not come with romaine. It definitely was disappointing and not nearly as good as a traditional Caesar salad. It also didn't come with croutons ?? Just a piece of soft Texas toast I had to cut up. It was so weird. Huge regrets ordering that!

I called to see if they had beer cheese soup they did so I had my family go for supper I ordered beer cheese soup and I received it with TENDERLOIN in the soup. For one thing how long has the steak been used. The cheese was curdled with the steak in it so wondering how long the tenderloin was in the freezer because it was cooked and wasn’t used. Cheese should never be curdled if fresh as well why use a tenderloin be put in a beer cheese soup. It was very bad I won’t go back. Service was a 4 out of 10

CROWDED! We got sat by the kitchen door right under the industrial bug light. Flies were constantly flying around our food. The only good thing we had to eat were the appetizer cheese balls. I ordered a seasonal blackberry drink from the bar and it came with whole blueberries. As I proceeded to try and muddle them myself with my straw my waitress came by and I asked her if she could get it muddled for me. She snapped back at me “that drink doesn’t come muddled, nor am I responsible for the drinks at the bar or how they make them!” I was taken aback… clutched my pearls! She took it from me and said she’d see if they could do something with it. 😒 when she came back I showed her the cocktail menu and the description of the drink pointing out it says muddled”” she just said “ugh hugh”
My steak was chewy and stringy. The salads were gross and we will never go back. Maybe they do better breakfast stuff?? We had dinner. Lacie, or Laney, something like that was our waitress.

Always a favorite for breakfast--it's Perkins, only 1,000 times better. They have all your standard breakfast classics like French toast, eggs bene, etc, but most of them have fun and delicious twists. They also have delicious adult bevs like mimosas and different flavors of bloodies. I tried the cinnamon roll this time, and it was SO fluffy and delicious. It's definitely sharing size, though, so definitely split it with a friend.

The only thing that's been "meh" has been the service. It's never really been bad, but also never really good. In their defense, I've always been when it's been near capacity, so I can't reasonably expect top-notch service. Either way, definitely go!
