We went for a Friday Fish Fry tonight. 2 of 5 ordered fish fry and had normal request of apple sauce with potato pancakes and tartar sauce - basic things for a fish fry.
We got our food and were told no apple sauce and fish fries were also missing tarter sauce. Waitress said she would bring tartar sauce right away...waited 10-15 minutes, no waitress. Waitress finally comes with no tartar sauce so we asked again. Another 10-15 and no tartar sauce. So I volunteered to go to bar, right outside the cooking area. I asked the bartender who went in and walked away..waited another 5 minutes and asked another bartender who put their head in and walked away from me. Then I asked a third person 'is asking for tartar sauce too much to ask?' - they went into area and came back and said 'We're out of tartar sauce so making more' - so I went back to table and we waited another 20-30 minutes and no waitress came by. After about 30 minutes, out came someone with two little containers of tartar sauce. At that point, its well over 90 minutes since we were served - of course everything cold. Prior to that, we asked to speak to the manager (twice) and no one came over. Finally when the bill rolled out, the 'manager' came out. I explained the above and she said 'no way they ran out of tartar sauce or apple sauce, we have it all night long'. WOW WOW WOW What could I say??? All I could say was 'This is CHAOS'. I could tell from the manager that there was no accountability and she is okay with 'managing' CHAOS. So if you plan a dinner at the Boathouse, expect CHAOS - meaning extremely poor service. Also bring your own tartar sauce and apple sauce!

Worst experience ever and will never return again! Long story short, took forever for service and we didn't get our food all at the same time. My 13 year old grandson took a bite of his pizza and said it was off, didn't taste right, my chilli cheese fries was so cold and undercooked the cheese on top which was of very little, wasn't even melty and the chilly part was horrible and the fish sandwich with fries my husband had was cold and his fries were droopy. Nobody asked how our meal was. I wanted to walk out b4 we even got our food! I walked out after I saw my food and they didn't. My husband literally ask where our food was and how much longer! My husband decided to only give partial payment and just left because nobody bothered to care there!

Looking for a great home-cooked meal with a beautiful lake view? The Boat House delivers! The atmosphere was so relaxing, and the staff made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. We even had the pleasure of meeting Vicky, the owner, what an incredible woman! She was humble, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, which really set the tone for the whole experience.

We kicked off lunch with (what else?) a Brandy Old Fashioned, and it was delicious. I had the grilled cheese, hands down the best I’ve ever had, while my BFF ordered the ham and cheese, which was equally tasty. I also tried the chili, and it was so good I ordered another one just to take home. My BFF had a Bailey’s and coffee that hit the spot. To top it off, Vicky went above and beyond by half-baking a pizza for us to take back to the cabin so we could enjoy it fresh later,such a thoughtful touch!

The view of the lake was stunning, and while it was a little chilly that day to sit outside, they have plenty of outdoor seating plus an outdoor bar for warmer days. They also run weekly specials, have an ATM on-site, and even have slots if that’s your thing (glad my mom wasn’t with us, lol!).

The Boat House combines great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and amazing hospitality. I highly recommend the Boat House and can’t wait to go back!

Cool place and a fun atmosphere. The food was good, but the service was SO bad. Sitting at the bar, it took 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. We got our drinks 10 minutes later. Another 10-15 minutes later we were able to place our food order. Our drinks were empty by the time food came and we were never offered a refill until we were finishing up. All of the bartenders were busy looking busy. I should have read more reviews before we stopped. I wouldn't go out of my way to go again.

We went to the Boathouse to celebrate my mom’s birthday and my parent’s anniversary. I made reservations for lunch a week before. It was a Sunday at 12:30 pm. We arrived and it was super busy, they were celebrating someone’s birthday inside and it was extremely noisy. Glad we were outside. The waitress was super friendly and nice but we had a long wait for our appetizers, which were cold, and then our meal came with one sandwich with cheese, which we told the waitress that we couldn’t have cheese due to medical issues and my fish sandwich was raw. So two of the sandwiches had to be sent back. One sandwich arrived midway through the meal. My fish sandwich came after everyone had finished. I would have thought we would have gotten money taken off our bill but no! We will never go back! Very disappointing. If you want good food that is warm and a good meal don’t go to the Boathouse!

Went for dinner with a friend. We sat outside at a table by the docks. I had bluegill she had a steak sandwich. The bluegill was the best I have had at a restaurant. Her steak was over done and tougher than she would have liked. However she said that she ordered the sandwich because she usually has it when she is there and it is usually much better. We have come here several times over the last few years and have always enjoyed it. The service can take longer but we understood it was shortage of staff. Yesterday, I took a group of 7 family members and had a nightmare experience. We waited over 1.5 hrs for our food. Had other tables seated, served, and finished before we even got our food. The food came out luke warm at best...which leads me to the next point. All 4 family members that had burgers were violently ill that night through the next day. Choices are few out here but I'll never go back.

I travel a lot and come across such amazing and unique spots. This is one of them. The prices are insanely cheap and the portion sizes are insanely big. They have tons of options, so when you order, get ready to answer son questions. Like, what kind of cheese, what kind of fries, etc. You can pull right up in your boat if you like. The servers are frastic. The food is amazing. Cooked my burger to perfection just how asked for it. We ate there last night and then again today. The locals are great as well. A gentleman approached my daughter and I and offered a ride on his pontoon which we took him up on. It was incredible. Definitely a place I will forever remember and visit again if ever back in the area.

Today on Fathers Day we went to Boathouse mind you we come often. We waited 1 hour and 33 mins before our food came out. We watched the owner seat outside people and they would get there drinks and appetizers within 15mins but the people inside were waiting very long 1 hour and a half for appetizers! The fact the the owner came in and embarrassed her bartender for trying to seat people outside is beyond me. The owner is digging herself into a deep hole by acting the way she does. The place is crumbing and it’s unfortunate and it’s all the owners doing. Anyone who works for this woman I feel so bad for! She needs to pull her head out of her ass and start treating her employees better! Stop worrying about seating and catering ro the people outside why not also worry about your people inside!

Arrived at 2:45 on Saturday afternoon. Parking lot not at all full. Go inside and they didn’t appear extremely busy. There were seats at the bar and tables available inside. Outside seating was all taken. Asked an employee if we needed to wait to be seated and was told “No, sit wherever you like and a server will be with you shortly.” We sat at a table and waited 10 minutes for a server to bring menus and take a drink order. When the server returned with drinks we placed an appetizer order. The server returned a several minutes later and we placed our food order. The appetizers took longer than we expected to arrive but they were quite good (pickle fries, cheese nuggets & calamari). We had to flag down the waitress to ask for drink refills. I flagged down the waitress again 45 minutes after the appetizers arrived and asked about our meals. She said she’d go check. I watched her go to the kitchen and come back out but didn’t bother to come near our table for 15 minutes to update us. In total, from order to arrival it took an hour and 25 minutes for our other food to arrive. Those meals (a burger and 2 steak sandwiches) were a disappointment!! All were overcooked from what was ordered and the fries were like cardboard.

I've been coming here for years, it's the best bar in fox lake and probably most surrounding towns too. Very casual place, but it gets busy on holidays and weekends. There is a good scene here at night, good vibes and the food and drinks are cheap. The pizza is a favorite of mine and I'm pretty sure they serve it until midnight or later. If you're in town, stop here if you get a chance.

We planned on riding out that way, stopped to eat and get a drink. Unfortunately the aftermath was terrible. Initially overall would be rated 4-5 star however we ordered something specific for allergy reasons, mind you we ride all over and have eaten at small hometown with no allergy specific menus to high end with specific menus set for allergies and never once has this happened. Food seemed great, service good, leave and about an hour later my husband is throwing up, terrible stomach pains, we get home and I call. At first I was told they only have a personal size for gluten free then I talked to a manager I believe and she was apologetic and insisted on having the owner call because she felt it could be a learning experience to the staff. I received that call shortly after and she seemed nice enough but backhandedly. She was being apologetic that he was sick, but so stubbornly insistent that it was not from them using a normal pizza crust and that they do offer a larger size for GF, said the first employee was wrong in that aspect. It was irrational how she could not even think of potential human error. I pondered on leaving this review but the way it was blown off and almost seemed to be a nuisance to have to acknowledge that there was something that went wrong with service just irrational especially if you are offering items for specific intolerance/ allergy issues. Again our service was good and the food was good until it wasn't but to simply be stuck in a box and refusing to see a possible mistake is wrong especially when it come from who runs the business. My husband was sick for slightly over a week which doesn't happen from cross contamination as it is such a sparse amount as well as he would not have been violently vomiting among other things, which comes back to the issue of a gluten full pizza being served instead of a gluten free.

Pizza was good once they finally found our order. We sat for 2 hours before finally telling the unsympathetic wait staff that we were leaving (paying only for our drinks and appetizers). Please note that we ordered our 2 large pizza's and 1 chicken wrap literally as soon as we sat down and acknowledged the hour wait time for food (cept appetizers came out fast with drinks). We came in by boat with 6 adults to celebrate grandgirls birthdays (ages 7 and 11) and they still had a long drive home after the day of boating so we couldn't wait any longer. Only when my usually calm, cool and collected husband lost his patience was it acknowledged that we were still waiting for food and leaving. All of a sudden 2 pizzas showed up but it was too late then and had to leave.
To compensate, they did comp the pizzas but we had to take them home and they were then cold and no time to eat as everyone had a long drive. Ruined my granfgirls

You can park your boat, jet ski and snowmobile outside and inside you’re treated to the wonderful owner, Vicki, and her awesome staff. This is a great place to enjoy lakeside outside dining. It was our server, Macy's, first day back for the summer, but she did a truly outstanding job servicing ours and everyone elses tables. The burger was on point, but I am a bit more particular when it comes to pizza. It was one of the better Taco Pizzas I had, but my pizza standards are very high. It's definitely a place to go to enjoy food and drinks. Something I don't normally comment on, but the patrons were also all very nice and cordial!

Would leave 0 stars if I could, place was busy, but no one standing and waiting for a table and no sign asking to wait to be seated. We grabbed an open table. My family of 4 was treated so rudely, I will not step foot in the place again, still left a $20 to cover the 4 drinks that we didn’t touch! Waitress was very nice, just the manager or owner that was a complete B.

I and Ron have not been to the boat house since my parents passed. So for my birthday I wanted their pizza. The food was great but the bartender was so rude to us. I also asked if they did anything for a persons birthday, she just laughed and said no not really and walked away. Then we waited 15-20 to get our bill. Someone else gave to us. What a joke. No wonder I don’t go out anymore!

Good pizza. Good burgers. Good prices. Super friendly staff. Beautiful views of Fox Lake. One of my favorite spots for a burger and beer! Outdoor patio is a must for summer!

Hubby and I stopped in for a late lunch, around 2:00 on a Monday. Only 2 other tables were occupied indoors. It was a nice spring day so I asked the wait staff if we could order and then take our food outside to enjoy the weather. I was midway through my request when the waitress started angrily interrupting. I asked if I could finish explaining that we'd happily wait for the food and take it outside so as not to bother staff. She escalated to shouting at me and then the male bartender joined in, at the same time that the owner came to also angrily shout "we're not set up for that yet!" The scolding I was receiving was the most bizzare and shocking experience I've had, while surrounded by 3 angry people that I had expected would welcome our business. With maybe 3 minutes in this establishment it was clearly time to leave. We drove to Beaver Dam and had a peaceful meal, outside by that lake, with great food, great view, and kind, welcoming staff. As I've checked out reviews here, it seems that others have had similar experiences at The Boat House. We won't be back.

We've been to the Boathouse a few times. Evertime we've been there the staff was excellent. Food was delicious, and drinks were always full.

Fish was not good and tasted old and felt ill all night and next day would never eat there again most definitely worst fish I ever had would of been better off getting fish sandwich from McDonald's

Excellent blue gill dinner. Burgers are great too. It took awhile before menus were brought to table. No wheelchair access at main enterance. Don't know if another enterance was available.

Always a great atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff. Monday thru Saturday daily specials from tacos to AUCE chicken wings! Owner is very involved in everything, including waiting tables. Today I sat outdoors, looking over Fox Lake. Service was still extraordinary. Prices are reasonable. Definitely try the pizza if you make it here!
