Looking for a unique restaurant with a great atmosphere and amazing food? Come here! They have the best cheese curds I have ever had. You get an awesome Souvenir plastic cup, even when you order a water. The menu was wonderful, there is a lot of options. The pricing is very fair. I had the chicken tacos and they were pretty good. Next time I will try one of their protein bowls. The wait staff was all very kind and extremely attentive. You cannot beat the atmosphere! Beautiful view! You can have your dog on the patio. In fact, there were several tables that had their little dogs there. Played great music. I can’t wait to go back!

Someone recommended this place since we needed a quick lunch for us and the kids. Honestly my husband and I love places like this because they are both family and date night friendly. Plenty of really great appetizer and food options to pick from. A plethora of drink options as well! Staff were friendly and timely. My husband and son absolutely devoured their burgers. Appreciated the fact that the patties were fresh! NOT frozen. Only feedback…Greeted on the way in but not on the way out. Tartar and coleslaw were not as delicious as I’d hoped but again the fish itself was absolutely delicious with just a squeeze of lemon! Definitely will be returning to explore the menu and drinks!

Our server Gisselle was great she was very informed on the area. She gave us many recommendations while we are visiting. The food was amazing and service was good overall. The dinning outside was so nice and definitely what we were looking for. If you’re in the area I also recommend seeing the lighthouse and museum down the road. It was so interesting and Ronald, the historian is very knowledgeable. He was the one who recommended the restaurant to us. And I’m glad he did!

The waiter took my drink order and disappeared. Came back to refill my water, but not to take my order. Had to flag someone down to find out if he actually was my server since he didnt seem focused on the food portion of the meal
Steak was cooked incorrectly, but still brought it out. When he saw me eyeing it, he realized his mistake and took it away. At that point, I was done. While I was waiting for the Mgr, he reappeared with a "medium well' steak. They didnt remake it as he originally said. They just threw it back on the heat so it could toughen up. Hard pass. Mgr offered to alternatives to repair the problem. If I was willing to return, they might have been viable and may be for others.

The salad was warm, the dressing super runny/watery. Drink: same, flat and watery. The steak was undercooked. Didn't try it so cant comment on taste. The potatoes were flavorless except for the strong pungency of the cheese. Green beans seemed fresh.

Was looking forward to trying a new restaurant in the city, but left hungry and frustrated. Hope this review saves you time and money.

My husband and I have given this place a chance over and over again because we liked the food, drinks and atmosphere. Every single time we’ve come here we’ve had bad service. I’ve also been here with my Mom and friends…also bad service. But today was the last straw. We sat on the patio and waited 15 minutes before my husband got up and asked if we could be waited on. The manager? I think? heard him and said someone will be right over. Our server took our drink & food order. We got our drinks shortly after, then we ordered a second drink after my husband asked what the problem was because our food was taking so long. Our server said there were only 2 people working in the kitchen. We waited 1 hour & 15 minutes to get our food and it was the wrong order!!! Then another 15 mins to get what we ordered. My steak tacos were ice cold and my husband’s “blackened” mahi mahi had no spices on it. No one ever checked on us that whole time either.

After a long day of battling traffic and family drama, we ended up at the Boat House Pub for drink and dinner. The drinks were strong, which was much appreciated, with an expansive cocktail menu. My husband and I were VERY intrigued by the variety of Long Island Iced Tea offerings.

I hesitate to say the food was surprisingly good, since that sounds rather snarky, so instead I’ll say the food menu was pleasantly diverse in its offerings. The vegetarians in our party were happy to see options other than just salads, and my father was very happy with his fish fry. Our server was very sweet and we enjoyed the ambiance of the deck.

Not sure when we’ll be back, but we certainly will be!

I had mixed feelings abt this place since we've been a few times. Each time, the service was friendly. The first time we had a delicious meal. The chowder was delicious, and I had a specialty flatbread that I've since recreated at home. My husband had the fried shrimp, and he loved them! The 2nd time, we had something simple like burgers or fish bc they no longer had the fried shrimp on the menu. It was average. The most recent time I ordered the lobster roll was utterly devastated and disappointed at the presentation, being this is supposedly a mid-price range restaurant. It was literally cold lobster thrown in a bun! No mayo, veggies, or seasoning. Wasn't asked if I wanted it warm or not. Just terrible! Wasted around $20 or more for it. Haven't been back since. Not that I wouldn't go back, I was just really disappointed and thought we needed to try other local restaurants. The atmosphere is pretty nice. There is an area like a sports bar where you can listen to music and watch sports on their multiple screens. But, there's also a place to dine away from the sports atmosphere. They even have outdoor dining as well. Drinks were very good and strong. I had a lemon drop martini, and hubby had a red, white, and blue Long Island Tea. We spent somewhere btwn $100-$150 the first time on appetizers, dinner, and drinks. Oh, the desserts were nothing to write home abt, and the supposed 5 layer, $14, chocolate cake was anything but! It maybe had 3 layers and was as plain as a white t-shirt and jeans (not good). They definitely need to work on some menu items and price points as they like to fashion themselves as a beautiful downtown eatery. I will say the scenery is nice for ppl watching and on a good day, the lake view. Would recommend but choose wisely and ask questions bc every place doesn't make things the same. However, you'd also think some things were standard everywhere!

Haven't been here in a while and I'm so glad we came today. The entire place has been remodeled in the last 5 years, looks beautiful and yet the pricing is so affordable. Food was excellent, service friendly and prompt. Drinks refilled right on time. I had my very first long island iced tea here today (get the 32 oz). It was terrific. Suzie and Molly at the inside bar were fantastic. They represent what Boat House is all about. We drove 45 minutes to get here and it was worth it. Come and enjoy!

A friend recommended this spot, so I decided to check it out. The restaurant is ethically pleasing with a cute design, chill vibe, and friendly staff, definitely a nice atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the food was inconsistent in both temperature and flavor. The drinks were overly sweet, which I guess makes sense for the price, but they lacked balance. Overall, it feels like the restaurant hasn’t quite figured out its identity. With some tweaks to the recipes, a focus on higher quality over faster service, and better-crafted drink recipes, this place could really shine.

We left on an unpleasant note being surprised with a 3% surcharge if paying by credit card (this is the first I've heard of having to pay more at a restaurant for paying by card, and we didn't see any notice on the menu or at the table). IMO it seems unfair considering the food is overpriced already. Additionally, I thought the kids meals came with a souvenir cup, but perhaps I am mistaken because our server got weird about taking them home. And apparently all the kids meals come with fries it said, but not the mac and cheese so only one of my kids got fries. We had a new server and he didn't know the menu well, but I guess he tried his best. The fish fry combo was only semi crispy on the top and really soggy on the bottom side touching the plate. The only thing we did enjoy was the Tuscan salmon and the soups (clam chower was flavorful and had a good amount of clams and the chicken noodle was tasty too). Overall, it was an unpleasant and slightly annoying experience, would not recommend.

Essentially our first visit - I had drinks at the bar many many years ago, but never the food. Group of four, we ordered quite a bit.
Half-dozen oysters ($19) - were okay, should include some horseradish
cups of clam chowder - I enjoyed the flavor
calamari - bit rubbery, breading tasted fine.
Fried fish combo ($25) - perch were certainly tiny, cod was nice, shrimp were okay… lots of batter.
Mai Thai ($11) - was strong, lacking fresh flavors, cherry was semi-rotted.
Argentinian Steak (flank) - cooked properly, bean beans had nice flavor, overall was average.
Patty Melt - meat was tough, bread and onions were good.
Service was friendly and attentive.
In the end, this was an overpriced average meal. Doubtful I would ever venture back in—- but I can see the draw, if you can sit outside while sipping a cool beverage. Was $50 per person, with tip.

Do not go here unless you want to feel UNCOMFORTABLE and DISCRIMINATED against. Me and my two friends came here two weeks ago and when we walked in we read the sign that says “Go to other entrance to be seated”, as we are walking in the WHOLE STAFF was sitting at the BAR watching us, nobody greeted us or asked if we needed help. We were WATCHED not spoken to. So as we make it to the other entrance, nobody is there. So, we sat ourselves. The WHOLE staff is STILL at the bar just looking at us and whispering, not tending to us. After about 15 minutes of us sitting with NO MENU and NO WATER, still nobody has approached us, the “Owner” finally comes by, with his eyes blood shot red, with his little hostess, and she threw our menus on the table and after he left she asked what did we want, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My friends and I stayed respectful and used our manners while she used none. She didn’t say anything to us at all, never told us to enjoy, never checked up on us unless she brought our drinks, she only said something to us when she seen I had a stack of cash and she was looking forward to having “change”. I cannot even name her because she never told us her name because her customer service was so bad and they had no intention on helping us. THE OWNER came by our table around 4 different times, each time being more uncomfortable. One of these times he asked what we were getting, we all referred to the food when answering and his response was “I’m talking about drinks the more important thing!” with a CREEPY smile. We were also informed that the employees were whispering about us amongst themselves, and secretly listening in on our conversations. After that we should have left because we did not trust anything that was served to us. Unfortunately we stayed, and gave them our money but atleast the food was tasty. TERRIBLE EMPLOYEES, somebody needs to look into the OWNER, and TERRIBLE ENVIRONMENT. I do not recommend unless you are their demographic.

This is my third time reviewing Boat House. We're long time patrons, but this visit is likely our last.

Every time I've written a new review, I've taken a star away. It started at 5 stars, back when they had a fantastic menu with items like Squash Risotto with perfectly cooked Ahi Tuna. But the stars didn't start coming off because the food got bad. Or the service. It's the prices. The term money grab comes to mind.

We love a good meal. We also love spending a small fortune for great food. But we just spent over $70 for a sandwich, a salad, a glass of house wine, and a diet Pepsi. C'mon now. Who do you think you are?

We know fine dining, and although we surely didn't come here for that, I certainly expected a lot more for what we paid. $50 would have been reasonable, but I'd still have wanted my fries to have been fully cooked, for a salad to be less than $26, for my soda to not taste like the disposable plastic cup of was served in, and to not stick to the table and seats.

What happened? We used to love it here.

Our experience was very uncomfortable from the moment we walked in to seat ourselves. Every employee literally watching and starting the whole time. Patiently waited 15 min for menus, still being stared at, just for the owner to come by VERY strangely. Owner repeatedly came over to our table ONLY, every, about, 5-8 minutes giving us complete weird vibes before our waiter even came and a couple times after. I kid you not, before we even got our food, he had came over around 5 times just saying stuff. Employees not minding their business an running off to tell others about our conversations we are having.
Food was GREAT but service and I believe at this point, the buisness is NOT OKAY. I’ve been to the boat house before to dine in but have not experienced anything like this and I did not like it.

I live in Colorado and every time I am in town I come to the bar. I grew up in Kenosha so it’s always been a staple!

We just went there for Easter brunch, and, I have to tell you, it was AMAZING!!!! The spread was wonderful with many options. The prime rib was one of the best prime ribs I've ever had. The seasoning. The texture. I'm so glad we went there compared to a more expensive place. The price was right, too. This will definitely be our new tradition. Thank you to the staff. You all worked very hard and it showed.

This place is great. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better. If you want to feel like you’re on the Big lake in Wisconsin, this place has it. Every time I come here I feel like it improves. The menu changed and is AWESOME, service is great too… our server Caitlen helped us select our meal given all the delicious options.

We keep going back to the Boat House Pub & Eatery in the hopes of a great dining experience but they are still coming up short. Our service was outstanding! That being said, the food all in all was just ok. The calamari was ok - very small pieces but the sauces were nice. The flatbread was fair. We had a steak flatbread that was overcooked and the steak was cut in big chunks that were hard to eat. We also had a burger and that was very good. The atmosphere could be great but when your shoes stick to the floor in the middle of the day on a Tuesday and the bathrooms are not clean - there is definitely a lack of cleanliness that is never good in a food establishment. Please keep trying Boat House Pub & Eatery - so much potential - you could be great!!

Coworker said she loads up with her scooters with her husband while going along the harbor, and usually pull up to get some nice long islands. "HELL YE MAN! KENOSHA CLASSICS"! Coworker suggested this place over Ron's for long islands strength. I am not sure but will test it out sometime in a few months. Thanks dudes.

I had written this place off years ago, but they are under new management with a new chef, so gave it another try. AMAZING! Seriously, everything we ordered was so good. I was asking to go back the next day. Only suggestion I’d make is putting a wasabi crust on the Tuna Tartare.

The menu has changed. I loved the chicken Piccata it was amazing last time I was there they shrank the chicken portion, served over terrible cooked noodles and raised the price. It was awful. My husband had bluegill that was over cooked and our waitress kept apologizing. My hubby complained about his dish the waitress brought him fresh cooked and bought him a beer and after that I felt bad complaining about my food so I didn't tell them it was awful. My son who loved the restaurant and went all the time for the chicken piccata said it was awful. Neither of us will be back so you have lost two regular families.

Good priced drinks. The place gets way too crowded at night. There was no way to have a conversation unless you yelled. There was a bad fight when I was there, cops had to come in...
Our drinks where supposed to be the same and came out different colors and tasting different. We asked the bartender if they were the same drinks and he said "yeah, they are the same but the pour came wrong". Wouldn't that make them not the right drinks and not the same drinks? Meh place really. Floors were dirty, the area smelled like year old stale beer. I'm not going back

Haven’t been here in years. Calamari for app, tuscan salmon for meal with New England Clam Chowder. Finished with a house made crème brǔlée!

Calamari was some of the better I’ve experienced! Lightly battered, flavorful, and not over cooked at all.

Clam Chowder was as close to authentic as you can get in the area. Hearty chunks of potatoes and clam bits, the flavor was on point and delicious!

The Tuscan Salmon was really good. Layed on a bed of green beans and roasted red potatoes, it was saucy, buttery, and flakey to perfection.

I took the sous chef’s recommendation of getting the créme brǔlée to finish of the night. It was fantastic!

One of my favorite places for fish frys and the shrimp po'boy is flavorful and nice texture. The waffle fries are always on point. .Cremé Brule is one of my favorite desserts they put little bit of jam and fresh fruit. Our waitress was Autumn she was friendly polite. I would recommend coming early if you can cause parking can be a little bit hard to find otherwise, i would come back again ( and having been here few times I would recommend).

Went here for the 2nd week in a row and loved it the same! Jack, the owner, is very nice, offered suggestions on the best items on the menu (turns out my husband and I had both of them last week) but was kind enough to offers other bests too! Susie was our bartender tonight and she was great! Very sweet, remembered us from a previous venue, and was very attentive. Will definitely be back!

Used ago love this place. Can't recommend it anymore. Fries are no longer gluten free. When served my burger, it was obviously a regular bun and not gluten free. It looked the same as my sons who does not eat gluten free. When asked the waitress to double check, she was rude and said "well I told the kitchen gluten free". She left to check and left me to not be able to eat for over ten minutes: she came back claiming it was gluten free, I was unable to eat my bun and was not offered a remake even after pointing out it matched the other gluten burgers at the table. Service was slow but that can be explained to restaurant week and Saturday night. Between the poor allergy awareness, the rude service, and the recent ADA complaints, unfortunately we won't be back.

Beware of ordering the perch dinner. While the quantity of food is plentiful, the large "perch" fillets were 75% greasy, fried batter and 25% fish. Service was good, and they accommodated the gluten-free needs of one person in our party. Also, don't bother ordering a souvenir mug of the "Boat House Lager." It's a cheap plastic mini-pitcher that somehow looks like glass in the promotion.
