Bombay Sweets was introduced to Milwaukee in the spring of 1999. Bombay Sweets is one of Milwaukee’s first to offer a full array of traditional Vegetarian Indian cuisine and Sweets. Bombay Sweet’s menu focuses on the northern and southern cuisines of India. Along with our freshly prepared home-style vegetarian specialties, we also offer an array of Indian Sweets and Snacks to bring home a little part of India.
Our in house sweets consist of a variety; Gulab Jamun, Rasgulla, Jalebi, and our famous Ras Malai. The snacks we offer range from sweet and salty to extremely spicy.

First visit after new ownership. The place is cleaner but food that used to be my favorite is now horrible and tasteless. Sweets are just acceptable. The lady behind the counter is friendly enough but her service is horrible.
Sorry to say that I will be avoiding this place in future!

Pretty average on many fronts. Savory items were good. Dosa/ paratha not upto mark.
Nimbu pani lacks flavor
Channa poori missed the target completely
Some sweets are good.
Ambience is decent, parking ample.

I had dinner here with my wife and toddler, and I was very pleased. The dining room is clean and cozy, the service Is somewhat casual but friendly and very helpful. And the food ... ! This isn't some swanky Americanized overpriced dregs. This is real, good solid Indian food. I can't wait to come back.

For people looking for creamy gravy with no oil on top, it's a no-go. I had to throw the gravy out as my husband disliked it enough and had to order other cuisine. No sorry required and it looks like my comment is the same as somebody else comment did 4 months ago. No improvement at all. I will prefer cashback. As we were looking forward to our lunch and lost appetite .

Bombay Sweets is a lovely family owned place that serves up vegetarian dishes with love. Get a pile of samosas for your family gathering, some stuffed paratha or some biriyani (but know it is quite spicy), wash it don with amango lassi. And no matter what get halva.
Always get the halva. It is so very good and the perfect sweet ending to a meal.

No fuss, freshly made, very reasonably priced food. A very affordable option for Indian lunch and dinner or snacks. Almost all other Indian places in Milwaukee have become way too expensive, this place is a very good alternative. And the sweets and snacks are great, the next door grocery store is very well stocked as well.

As a vegetarian, this restaurant has quickly become my go-to place for delicious, authentic Indian cuisine. Chat items are absolutely delicious and my most favourite are the crispy samosas 🫶

The samosas used to be the best in Milwaukee. Now they are very spicy and have too much masala. I used to buy their samosas so often, but I don't care to eat there anymore. If they have 2 options for samosas: one that tastes fresh and has the original taste and one that's spicy, then I'd go back.

My family has been frequenting Bombay Sweets for years (at least a decade). We have always appreciated the friendly service, and the quality and amount of food provided for an affordable price. As vegetarians, the options were always great! We usually ordered take out. With new technology and advanced internet services, we were able to order with the website which always worked wonderfully. Unfortunately, probably about a year or so ago, I believe Bombay Sweets traded ownership and as a result they updated their pricing and website. The pricing inside of the restaurant on their standard menu is still great compared to other local options, but when trying to order for takeout online it is all screwed up. When we attempt to order a curry it asks whether we want 16oz, 16oz with rice, 32oz, or 32oz with rice. Previously rice was always included in the order of a curry. When we select 16oz it says it will cost nearly $25!! If we select with rice it brings it up to almost $27 dollars. This is ridiculous. I’m not sure if it’s just a mistake in the system but it needs to be fixed because every time we try, it’s the same. We have started to go to other more expensive places like Cafe India because even they are not charging $25 dollars for a single curry. We love Bombay Sweets so please fix this!

At first I was hesitant to go for dinner at this place, then I had to go there on request. Their service was good and ambience is okay. But I'm disappointed after trying out their food. The quality of food is below average. I ordered Chole Bhutre and it turned out to be some sort of puri and a bland curry of chole.. No way it was Chole Bhutre. They added tons of baking powder to make it crispy and I could taste that extra baking powder! Their fresh sugarcane did not taste fresh at all but something else. Tried some sweets, but they were not that great except Chumchum (may be!). Samosa was the only thing that seemed okay. I would not recommend this place.

We order couple of desi Chinese and none of the item were good. Most of the items were missing required vegetables.worst Desi Chinese. We asked for it as were informed that items comes without that. They thought it is first time we are eating. Lassi was too watery. It seems quality went down the drain than last time we visited.
Avoid all items except sweets and Samosas.

Worst chat ever. Would have given 0 stars if possible. The papdi chat was terrible, instead of the Indian green chutney they added some kind of green sauce, the papdi was so hard it was impossible to bite. No taste - they should be shamed to call themselves an Indian fast food place. We left after a couple bites. Waste of money.

Gobi Manchurian was undercooked and cold. Chili paneer was so bad. No spices, no salt, no sauce. Felt like eating dry paneer. I never expected this hopeless food. We were wary of visiting because of the low reviews, but ended up having an excellent experience and highly recommend it. We got the vegetarian thali, chana bhatura, samosa chaat, and masala dosa. Everything came quickly and was delicious. The bhatura was especially good, with the perfect texture and not too greasy. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Best of all, the gentleman who served us was kind and hospitable towards our large family with lots of kids. Next time I'm in Milwaukee I'll be stopping by again.

I do not recommend dining in here for severe reasons, first it took almost an hour for the food to arrive, I’m getting quite impatient while waiting. The price might seem to be on the lower side but the portion is very small. I got two small pieces of cashew dessert and it’s about $5. There is only one staff at cashier maybe that’s why no one has time to clean the table properly. The food is not too bad, maybe consider taking out instead.

The lady charged me $50 extra for no reason. When I asked to see the receipt she was giving extreme attitude acting like I can’t afford it that’s why I’m asking. After inspection of the receipt, it showed a random charge for $56.80, making my total over $125 for 4 boxes of sweets and 6 samosas. When I asked the lady what the $56 was for, she didn’t even say anything and just took it off, no apology, nothing. These people are scammers, the previous owners were straight. Been coming to this place over 15 years and now that’s it.
Go to Chicago for your needs, it’s literally 50% the price they charge here.

I won a total of $8 in the lottery. I went to the grocery store attached to the restaurant, which both shared the same owner and claimed the $8 and then، I bought $10 worth of tickets. I gave the lady, the store owner, a $10 bill. She was supposed to give me back $8 change after deducting my $8 winning. Instead, she gave me $2. I tried kindly and politely to explain to her, assuming she was just confused and overwhelmed by the line of customers waiting.
Nevertheless, she did not listen to me and went into defensive mode instead of admitting her mistake or stopping for a few seconds and reviewing my concerns. After more than 15 years of being a customer, I decided not to go there anymore, including the restaurant. I will vote by my $.

I've been trying to find a reason to order from here, as I used to order from here weekly. Today I finally did and I'm sad to say I am disappointed. It's definitely not the same. Very pricey for the SMALL amount of food that you get. I'm embarrassed I recommended my friend to order here because she ordered a curry dish and she literally got less than a half of cup of the curry followed by about a cup worth of rice. Samosa's were not full with filling and were much smaller than they used to be. My vegetable biryani literally had NO vegetables in it. I wont order from here again.

This place is awesome. Today was my first time here, and I plan to make it a regular in my weekly lunch rotation.
I got the samosa chaat, hot tea with milk and spices, and two desserts to go. Everything was phenomenal, but the sweet green thing with the almonds and candied seeds from the display case was like nothing I've ever had before. It tasted like drinking a bottle of floral perfume, in the best way.
The atmosphere was homey and the folks working were very friendly and helpful.
It's a great value, which is becoming increasingly difficult to find in a restaurant these days. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Thank you Bombay Sweets!

Wow am I impressed. Prices are very reasonable compared to other Indian restaurants in the city and better yet this restaurant is completely vegetarian and the tastes and flavors are beyond this world. 10 out of 10 overall experience, food, and taste! We got Masala Dosa - the filling was really plain unseasoned potatoes and had raw onions. The chai was basically water and had no flavor, basically undrinkable. It's almost like a fast food restaurant since they don't even bring the food to your table.

The worst Indian food ever!
Also mind the fact that it serves food in styrofoam, hot sambar, if it's hot or anything else. Dosa was burnt as well as uncooked in several spots, sounds weird but that's what we got. Almost looked like it came out of a panini grill instead of a flat skillet. Never even tasted it because it did not seem with it with all the uncooked layers.
We also ordered a vegetarian Thali. The spinach was as butter and tasting raw coffee powder. My husband spit it out and I ended with an extremely bitter and weird after taste with just 2 bites. The other veggie carried the exact same bitterness. To top it all, everything in Thali was cold cold. Not even warm. I had tried to cancel my order but they left said it's ready and then gave us the cold platter.
I refused to pay for more than one dish because the veggie platter was inedible and they should be penalized for serving inedible food to their customers.

This one star is specifically for the bad customer service we experienced last night. Even after the female server at the front desk realized her mistake regarding the order, the male owner seemed to have NO courtesy and know how to address the customer’s issue, all he had to do was to Accept the mistake and simply solve it with kindness. Won’t consider going back after this distasteful experience!

Sweets are really mouth watering but restaurant food items need lot of taste improvements. Price must match with quality and quantity.

Love their variety and taste of Indian sweets. This is the only place I visit for any festival or occasion to buy authentic Indian sweets.

The food was mediocre. Sweets/Dessert were good and tasty. We ordered Samosas and Vegetarian Thali, disappointed with the Thali, poor quality of food. Won't recommend the Thali here at all, waste of money. The staff is slow and poorly managed. No value of time, it seems like it's family run and there was a lot of mismanagement. Restrooms were ok, not the cleanest but would do the job. I won't recommend this place for Indian food.

I ordered Panner masala dosa and it is the worst dosa I ever had in my life , the dosa was very soggy , the panner was just fried in the oil and added with aloo , the Sambar is worst of worst and the coconut chutney is spoiled . Very much disappointed . I thought the new management is doing better but still the same
