We offer freshly made traditional dishes like borsch, varenyky, pelmeni, plov, blini, waffle rolls, vinaigrette, mimosa salad, kvass, and kissel. I went to The Borsch House for the first time, and it was the perfect hot comfort food on a drizzly, cold October day! I ordered the borsch combo and the cabbage rolls combo so I could try a bit of everything, along with a cortado and the medovyk (honey cake). While I waited for my food to be prepared, I got to learn a bit of Ukrainian from the friendly guy at the window. Everything tasted great and was very hearty and flavorful. I’ll definitely be back.

The plov was Yummy and I had enough left over for a snack later. The pampushka bun is fantastic! It's fluffy soft with a garlic butter brushed on top. So good!

The Ukrainian food at this unassuming spot in Altoona is to die for - especially for those who appreciate cuisine that is full of flavor without being "too salty" or "too sweet" ... they achieve perfect balance with their dishes. The borsch is probably the best soup in the Eau Claire area. Highly recommend.

Stumbled across this eatery in the band new Yards and tried their plov and vinaigrette salad with beets. The food was so delicious — tasted like my grandma made it with love and care and only fresh ingredients.
The owners/chefs are so kind and were excited to share their food with us. The Yards is a sweet little outdoor pod of food stands and the atmosphere on a warm day is perfect. 👌🏼

The Yard is a unique food truck vibe walk-up with a handful of different "restaurant" options, and features open-air, covered, and even indoor, air conditioned seating. I tried the Borsch House and every menu item was excellent. If you've never had Borsch, you're not alone. This was the first time for me and it was so good. What a fantastic experience with 100% authentic Ukrainian food! Highly recommend!

This was our family's first time not only at The Borsch House, but eating Ukrainian cuisine in general and all was wonderful!! Professional service, very clean facility, and the food was quite delicious, flavorful, and fresh. I appreciated that the menu included an explanation of each item, as these dishes were all new to me. I wasn't sure how my young, picky kiddos would do, but once I convinced them to try the food, they were pleasantly surprised. The Container Yard itself is a unique experience. There are restrooms, a drinking fountain, a decent amount of seating on the patio, a sand volleyball court, and air conditioned seating overlooking "the yard." We will be returning to The Borsch House in the future and definitely recommend this restaurant!

Maybe no one cares about my opinion, but I still want to say Borsch House was amazing!
Tasty food, beautiful presentation, and the colorful containers made the place feel fun and joyful.
Only thing the bathroom locks were a bit weird and I wish there was a mirror.
But overall, everything was great. Glad to see Ukrainian food shared like this! 🌻🌻🌻

A hidden gem of Ukrainian comfort food in Wisconsin!
I was absolutely charmed by this cozy spot. The atmosphere feels like home, and the food tastes like love. The apple-stuffed crepes are beyond amazing — tender, warm, and just the right amount of sweetness. And their borsch… wow. Rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. Everything is fresh, homemade, and prepared with care.
Highly recommended for anyone craving something soulful, hearty, and real.
