Old and rustic, but the food is quite good. A "must stop" when I am driving thru this area. I enjoy the rustic "pub" feel. I found the Brat Stop bye accident 30+ years ago and have never stopped going back when there is opportunity. I always take some frozen brats/brat patties home to throw on the grill. Oh yes, dont forget the ample selection of cheese curds. The reasturant, is separate from the meat market and the food is great. I find, as I get older, enjoying places like this more and more. Brat Stop is our absolute favorite spot. honestly, the best hot dog place of my life! Even though we live in the Chicago suburbs, we don’t mind driving all the way to Wisconsin just for their amazing hot dogs. The cheese curds, onion rings, and hot dogs are all fantastic, and the spacious, family friendly atmosphere makes every visit so easy and enjoyable. So, the uncle and I went out for lunch yesterday at The Brat Stop in Pleasant Prairie.

I met the most amazing 5 year old. His name is Cooper. He's autistic. I wish I would have gotten a pic with him.

He was there with his mom and Grandmother. Mom looked stressed. Like she was just at the end for the day. It was 2:00pm.

I took to him like no other. He and I were chatting and laughing and acting like kids. Mom wasn't super impressed and kinda got upset with me at first. I think she thought he was acting out. And she was already stressed.

I thought he deserved some ice cream, as he was being such an amazing kid. As the waitress delivered the surprise I watched the stress almost dissolve from mom's face. The kid was in love. He had his own SUNDAE. The smile on his face was priceless.

I went on to the tubes and learned how to sign "you're awesome" because he showed mom that he loved his sundae by sign. Mom smiled truly for the first time.

Finally I went over by Mom to ensure her that she was amazing. Cooper was being a 5 year old. You could see that she was was uber-sensative due to his diagnosis. Again, she was stressed. Honestly, if she wouldn't have told me, I wouldn't have known he was autistic.

Relax moms. Autistic children are not a burden to the public. We see you. We're starting to get it...take deep breaths. It's not as bad as you perceive.

Cooper, wherever you are, keep on laughing...keep on smiling. Your smile is electric.

We were at your gift shop this morning around 9:30 to buy some spotted cow and Kringles. We spent about $135. I wish we hadn’t. The woman working the register was rude. When I mistakenly brought my beer to the counter she nearly yelled at me that I was not supposed to bring the beer to the counter. When my wife and I returned to the counter after getting our kringles the woman again said, “next time don’t bring the beer to the counter”. My wife and I answered “we heard you”. She then rang up our order, shoved the charge card copy at my wife to sign, tossed the Kringle bag at me and never said thank you. For that matter, she never said hello. She barked at me when I asked about the kringles and got snotty toward my wife when she left the kringles on the counter vs having a basket. I can see her not wanting a crowded counter when the shop is serving a lot of customers. But we were the only people in the store. She may have been having a bad day. But she was taking it out on us and was a very poor example of the good people of Wisconsin. Her poor customer service and terrible attitude makes me reluctant to return to the Brat Stop, which has been a favorite stop as I travel to and from WI to visit my family.

I personally was disappointed, but the place was packed. I was hoping for Wisconsin made brats, but all tasted like regular store bought.
Anytime someone gave the bartender a tip a siren went off and people would start yelling.
The waitress tried hard to do a good job but it was just too loud to hear anything. Also the cooks grabbed the wrong brat for my husband's meal. The manager did come over to fix the problem but we were done.
I think we just had a bad experience day, but will try again because there has to be a good reason it was so busy.

I’m not sure if I just was there on an off night, but we came in on a Saturday, I ordered a brat, and it came out and the center was cold. I still ate it because I needed food, but i was a bit disappointed that I got a brat, at the brat stop, and it wasn’t even a hot brat. We came in on Sunday was well and I ordered a prime rib sandwich. It was tough, so tough I only took a few bites and ended up pitching the leftovers.

Had the Cajun brat along with potato salad. For the price paid it was a bit disappointing. Clara Peller would not approve. The bun overwhelmed the brat. This was my first visit here. Luckily I was there on a day that the owner was present. Very friendly and offered us a drink on the house. I declined as I already had my share of drinks at a local golf course. I shall return and give that brat a 2nd chance to beat our local BratHaus in Richmond, IL.

Always stop here on pir way back to Illinois! There is a sit down restaurant with various foods but you have to get the brats. There is a bar for watching sports and an area for a live band. Occasionally an airhorn blast disturbed the crowd in my group. Asked, the staff said it was for fun.
It's a sports bar with bratwurst options and usual sports bar food. Reasonable pitchers of soda.
Most items $15+ with a large menu. Most spent $20+ depending on drinks.
Recommend for watching sports.
Not recommended for a conversation at the dinner table.

I love the food, love the entertainment, love the staff. But there’s one thing that’s been bothering me for the last few months. There’s been an older lady every morning, for the last 3-4 months, who comes into the restrooms in the cheese store and will sit there in there for 45 minutes- an hour. Making it difficult for anyone who needs to use the restrooms in a pinch. I went into the restroom after her this morning and she had a bag of shower things and it smelled like shower gel in the restroom.
