This is the best food I have ever eaten. I am so in love with this food, I wish I could eat here every day. Since this spring I've been here for breakfast, a bistro night, ordered lunch to-go, and stockpiled from their fridge and counter goodies. Everything is an explosion of amazing flavors. You all do an amazing job. I wish I lived closer to visit more often but it's such a treat when the timing works and a beautiful country drive. This is the best dining experience! The menu is always different, and the food is always clean, locally sourced as much as possible, and made in-house, which makes the experience excitingly delicious! The desserts are killer! There are also lots of goodies for purchase.
Joe and Penny are delightful and attentive, totally focused on their customers having a lovely experience.

Love This Place! Me and my 10yr old daughter love to pick up their seasonal pasta salads to go. If she finds out I stop without her, I better pick up another or share mine! Brick House Merchantile & Artisan Kitchen is in a class of their own. I appreciate the food, location, and experience equally. The food is healthy, creative and deliciously consistent every time. The experience is fantastic, I can be in work out gear or dressed up and I feel absolutely at home. The location is really special with outdoor curbside dining in the warm season, and just enough indoor dining to make it not a loud and overly busy stop to meet with friends to chat and catch up. I love the size of the establishment and it adds nice European flare to the experience. More so now than ever food quality and service has been compromised and I feel that BHM is creating a new opportunity for dining out. Keeping it small allows for exceptional quality and service. If I am choosing to dine out, BHM is my first choice in Lake Country because I know exactly what I am going to get.... whatever Chef Jeremy is offering. I rarely even need to read the menu because I love the surprise and I trust what he is making. It takes the hectic menu reading decision making out of the equation which is what I have always dreamt about. I just walk in and say "I'll have whatever is on the menu!" The beautifully made plate arrives, I close my eyes, and bite after bite I keep saying 'THIS IS AMAZING!" We had an absolutely lovely dinner last night—truly one of the best dining experiences we've had! From start to finish, every bite was a delight. The scallop and pasta appetizer was simply the best we've ever tasted, with layers of flavors that were perfectly balanced and unforgettable.

For the main course, we both enjoyed the steak dinner, which was cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with the most velvety, flavorful risotto. And then came dessert—an absolute masterpiece! The Chocolate Truffle & Raspberry Tart was divine, featuring a crisp chocolate wafer crust, rich bittersweet chocolate truffle filling, and a vibrant, intense red raspberry layer that elevated every bite.

I also love the ever-changing weekly soup menu—it's always a pleasant surprise, showcasing the chef’s creativity and talent. The quaint location adds to the charm, making it a wonderful spot to connect with neighbors from nearby towns. And, of course, the wine selection is always on point, complementing each dish flawlessly.

After moving to Wi 2 years ago, I felt like I was in a food desert. The Brick House Merchantile was recommended to me by a friend. Truthfully, what a godsend! Great food, cool vibe, wonderful owner’s, superb chef and a great staff. We came from the Chicago area, where you can find any food you desire, along with amazing restaurants. BHM is in the category of great Chicago restaurants. Chef Jeremy is so inventive and Pastry Chef Joe is incredible. The best cheesecake I’ve ever eaten! I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. Brick House Mercantile is by far one of our favorite restaurants. The local, seasonal, high quality ingredients they use create such unique dishes with incredible flavor. Their breakfast sandwich on a sourdough bagel is a favorite, as well as any and all of their soups and the savory breakfast burrito. We love going every Saturday to see what the weekly savory breakfast menu item is, and I love that there is always a vegetarian option. It’s hard to leave without grabbing one of their muffins (GF, too!) or their Tahitian vanilla brownies. Not only is the food incredible, but the service is even better. We are so thankful to have found Brick House and look forward to our to weekly trip there.

First time here. Came on the recommendation of a good friend who raves about this place. We stopped in after a bicycle trail.

First, it's not a restaurant. It's an Artisan Kitchen. What's the difference? The place is small, the menu is small, and it's all very good! There are about 12 seats, in a small dining area, with lots of light from the windows. Outside, they have a few metal patio tables and chairs. We were warm from our ride, so ate in side.

Since it was our first time there, we had many questions. The staff was very nice, answering our questions. It was all very casual.

We ordered a Summer Grain Bowl and the Smokey Pepper & Tomato Bacon Bisque. Both were amazing. So good, that you want to slow things down, and savior each bite.

We also got some of the Rustic Italian Pizza Deviled Eggs to go. Had those in the evening and they were incredible. So much going on in such a little package.

The kitchen menu changes weekly and I always look forward to seeing what is being offered. Chef Jeremy’s creations offer plates filled with flavor, keeping regulars coming back for more. The experience this weekend at the Brick House Mercantile was the best dinner my husband and I ever experienced. My husband does not eat salmon, mushrooms, kale, or rhubarb. A gem of a place in downtown Dousman! My SIL Cheryl took me there and I had a terrific meal. Fresh ingredients for a very eclectic menu. If you're a 'Foody' and don't stop here, you basically missed out. Had s breakfast Chile Quile(?) which was excellent , and the 'Shrubmosa' which was like a mimsoa but with a different fruit than OJ, and it hit the spot.

Great atmosphere, not a ton of seating, but intimate, with nice ambiance. Can get other great foods, candy, coffee and drinks as well. Muffins are some of the most moist and best muffins in the area. Great place, highly recommend.

The food is so good- amazingly , the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming.., I have eaten in and have been to their dinners on the Farm ( such a delicious magical night) They are open For lunches W-Th- and Friday, follow them and you will know all the happenings!

I learned about Brick House from a friend’s post on Facebook. I’ve made the trip several times and have always had excellent experiences. Brickhouse Mercantile is a gem for the Dousman community. They consistently produce unique, delicious food and have excellent service. We have had the pleasure of attending a few of their artisan dinners and have been amazed by the creativity and flavors coming from Chef Jeremy’s kitchen. If I still lived in Dousman I would eat at the Brickhouse multiple times a week. The Bahrs are kind and hospitable people who clearly have a passion for what they do. I regularly drive an hour to come visit and eat at the Brickhouse and I am always blown away by what I’ve been served. The level and quality of food being produced by the Brickhouse exceeds what you would expect from a small town restaurant and is on par with award winning restaurants in places like Milwaukee or Chicago. The five course meal was inspired, delicious and beautifully plated. Each course was thoughtfully described by the chefs, and the wine pairings were perfect. An incredibly special experience! This was a perfect venue for a private, celebratory dinner with close friends. Chef Jeremy’s late winter menu was amazing. Joe and Penny were gracious and wonderful hosts and Joe’s chocolate tart to finish the evening left everyone talking. My spouse and I enjoyed attending our first artisan dinner so much we signed up for the next one at the dinner!
The craftsmanship of the dinner is always superb and the meal is always melt in your mouth delicious.
We also love to purchase the canned items such as jams, baked items and meals from the farmer’s market and the store. A must visit and must book!

The selection of unique creations with fresh, seasonal ingredients is unlike anything I've had in such a long time! Attended one of their artisan dinners 3/31/2022 with friends. We had an excellent experience. Very inviting atmosphere, relaxing dining pace and knowledgeable and friendly staff. Loved the timing of each course. My beverage was never empty! Best restaurant SERVICE I've had in a long time. The chef (Jeremy) did a great job describing each dish and happily (as well as Penny and Joe) answered our many questions about the ingredients and preparation. So interesting. We left full and had a chance to purchase some of their delicious retail items as well. Looking forward to our next dining experience with them.

We thoroughly enjoyed the second artisan dinner offered by Brick House Mercantile last week (2/2/22). The food was artfully presented, the flavors were nuanced, balanced and creative, and the portions were perfect for the five-course dinner. Chef Jeremy really knocked it out of the park! The family-style seating and timing of the dishes allowed us to meet and interact with the other guests, and we had a wonderful time chatting with new friends as well as with Penny, Joe and Jeremy.
