Few places truly take pride in quality in this area of the state. I am proud to have this Cafe in our city. Quality food and amazing coffee and service. You can't go wrong choosing this place for breakfast or delicious lunch. My recommendation is jalepeno panini and caramel macchiato. Also amazing pastries as well!

I’ve never in my life walked out of one of my favorite coffee shops, until today. And to think, I drive an hour just to visit this place.

When I walked in, I immediately noticed the seasonal menu wasn’t posted. Every other time I’ve come, there’s always been a full display with new seasonal drinks. I waited at the register for about five minutes with no greeting, no “hi,” no “I’ll be right with you,” nothing. Staff continued to walk past without acknowledgment.

When someone finally came to help and we asked about seasonal drinks, the response felt flat and uninterested: “Oh, just pumpkin spice.” Over the years, I’ve noticed there’s one barista who is consistently kind, attentive, and welcoming. The rest often seem burnt out, disengaged, and robotic, like I’m just another transaction they’ve done a thousand times.

I’m sharing this feedback in hopes it leads to better customer experience. I truly love this place, which is why it’s disappointing to see the service and atmosphere decline.

A cute cafe with tasty food and a warm, welcoming staff. I ordered the smokey turkey sandwich and a blended chai. This was the perfect combo and was juat what I was looking for! They were pretty busy, but they had plenty of seating to accommodate our small party of three and they have a cute outdoor patio for additional seating. The kitchen makes everything fresh to order, so be patient for your food, but it was worth the short wait!

I have childhood trauma associated with a baby sitter forcing me to eat tomato soup when I was 3-4 years old...today I had the tomato bisque. Needless to say, it must be the nectar of the gods. It was so good. I experienced grilled cheese and tomato bisque for the first time in my long life. An amazing and cathartic experience. This place has home cooking that erases the stress of the day. Truly blessed to have this restaurant in Jefferson.

This is one of the cutest coffee shops in a historic building! The food is delicious and filling (we ate breakfast sandwiches and a burrito). Plenty of seating and private booths. I love Brickhaus Cafe! It is my steady meeting spot with my long-time friend, where we get our favorite, scrumptious, twice-baked oatmeal and specialty drinks & where we are so comfortable we can chat for hours! Today, I brought a group of seniors from The Gathering Place in Milton to have breakfast and I heard rave reviews. The food was "great", drinks were "yummy" & the breakfast sandwiches were said to be"outstanding". I had the twice baked oatmeal and it was definitely up to standard! Brickhaus Cafe is the gem of Jefferson. Always busy, legitimately great coffee, it goes toe-to-toe with the best cafes in bigger cities like Madison Or Milwaukee. The food here is good. The wait can be a bit sometimes. I did stop in on a Saturday morning around 830 to eat and drink a coffee by myself and the staff were having alot of personal conversation which is fine but they coule leave out the swear words. Not what I want to listen to when I drink my coffee.

If I could give the service 0 stars I would. Do not come to this place unless you’re trying to wait 30 minutes to be helped or get your coffee. It’s an ongoing thing, I literally have to plan to wait in a line out the door for 20 mins every time I come. Not to mention they have ONE cashier so it takes even longer. I ordered a to go once because I have two small children and it was taking too long. They don’t let you pay over the phone and then you have to wait in the same exact line thats out the door to pay for your drink as it melts and your children have to wait 20 minutes.

Update 6/17/2023: The Jefferson County Rowing Club stopped by after the morning training. Our first visit. Everyone really enjoyed their noon meals. Especially the Itianiano, the Caprese panini and an amazing mocha shake. Ate outside in the back and was able to have our mascot (small dog) join us.

It’s just never not good. It’s consistently delicious, the staff is always awesome. My one and only complaint— wish they could be open for dinner, especially in the summer! I’d kill to be able to sit outside with my family and/or friends for great fresh sandwiches and salads for dinner. It’a impossible to find that around here in the evenings. But, I totally get that it’s a small business that hires exceptional staff and that level of staff can be hard to find to accommodate extended hours.

But seriously— this place is great. There’s nothing bad on the menu and I’m pretty sure I’ve tried it all at this point… but some absolute favorites are their breakfast items— can’t speak for the baked oatmeal, but the burrito and jalapeño popper panini are excellent, and I love the build your own breakfast sandwich option. Lunch wise— a Reuben wrap is my standby. I don’t know what they do to their wraps to get them delicious, but get one! The Brickhaus grilled cheese and their salads are also favorites. My kids love the hummus platter! Their hummus is SO GOOD.
