Nice course with reasonable rates and a great 19th hole. Only problem was a too-cool-for-school twosome that held up play for a twosome and threesome behind them. Will be back again.

Horrible experience as a first time guest here, was on the driving range when a "member" named Patrick came after me red in the face and cussing as I wasn't supposed to be in the grass, I apologized and let him know it was my first time here and that wasn't explained to me he continued to cuss me out, I moved to the mats and let him know that he shouldn't be so hostile over something so litte. I then went to the club house and informed the general manager Becky of the situation and they did absolutely nothing, just explained to me that he has "PTSD". Which in my opinion is no excuse to behave how he did. I would not recommend unless you want to be intimidated by nobody's for no reason.

Played front 9 on 6/9/25. Used a Bucky Book coupon, so I paid $20 for 9 with cart. Hole 4 had an area that was roped off (possible water issue). Hole 7 could use some tree trimming near the tee box on the back tees. But other than that, the course was fine.
Good value using Bucky Book. Will be back.

Beautiful course! Short enough to walk 9 holes, but long enough that you’re ready to sit at the end. Presents some good challenges with woods and water (only lost 4 balls my first time), but fun to play through. Great location right by the airport!

This has got to be one of the worst kept golf courses in the Madison area. They should be embarrassed to be charging full price considering the state that their golf course is in. The greens are patchy and inconsistent. The fairways are mud pits. The bunkers are cement. Do yourself a favor and set your tee time somewhere else.

Been going here for years, always the most competitive rates in madison. Can be wet here and there since course is built on a swamp, so if it rained the night before might be a bit patchy, but use common sense, if it rained it’s gonna be wet 🤷♀️. Restaurant and bar always has amazing food, cart kids and bev carts always kind and helpful! Also, amazing that if the weather is nice randomly throughout the winter, they’ll open!! I’d say that’s a perk, especially in Wisconsin!

You should really disclose the conditions of your course when someone calls to book a tee time. Especially when part of your course is flooded and you're still charging full price.

Greens in good shape. But some of the holes are gimmicky. Par 5s with dog legs literally right off the tee. One of the maintenance guys passed us in one of the fairways and changed the hole location before we could even hit our second shots. We just sat there and watched him change the hole. Been golfing for 35 years and never seen that .

I used to practice here when I worked in Madison many years ago. It’s always a tough course. Very flat, no slope, greens are pretty flat. It should be named “The Swamp”, bring bug spray. Course is in really rough shape, tee boxes and fairways are a disaster but the greens are beautiful. Greens are fairly consistent and well maintained. No drinking water on course, no drink cart. Really good practice facility with bunker and short game area.

Course is consistently very wet with lots of ground needing or under repair. It’s basically built in a swamp so hence the water, but buggy and often swampy smelling. Balls will plug all over, even with driver off the tee. Range seems to be closed way more than other courses in the area and is very short, only a little over 220 yrds. Decent layout but just can’t drain well enough.
Gets one star back for having cheap rounds on GolfNow app, usually decent greens, and some fighter jets flying low overhead, but expect wet conditions and slow play.

Gentleman checking us in at the pro shop was an absolute jerk! We called in before and he told us he had open spots and to “come whenever” just for him to give us grief when we showed up about not scheduling a Tee time. Treated us like we were idiots and condescending. Course conditions were horrible and experience was mediocre at best

Had high hopes for this course but was thoroughly let down. I've never seen a place with 3 HUMONGOUS signs saying no coolers/outside bottles and no liquor. The course itself was fairly difficult as a bad shot will leave you in 5 ft grass. The other big issue is how wet the course is. Every shot was a plug shot. It was like playing on a sponge. I will probably never play this course again.

The Bridges is a nice course. The fairways are fairly wide, but an errant drive will cost due to tall native grasses. The course is in good shape generally; greens are very good. They have a very nice clubhouse. Good selection of beers on tap.

Having previously left a 1-star review following my previous experiences at the Bridges, I figured I'd give the course an updated review for 2022.
I decided to walk 18 holes in early April, seeing as the city courses are not yet open. It was easy to schedule a tee time online, and the pro shop guy was friendly. There weren't any other staff working at the time, so the course was pretty quiet, but there were a good number of groups playing on the course on the day.
The course design is pretty solid. There's some well-designed target areas in the fairways, and there are a number of holes that provide unique challenges for how you approach your tee shot. I never felt unfairly punished for "going for it" and when I chose to lay up, the landing areas were generous, but challenged me to make a much more difficult approach shot.
Where the course design falls short for me is in the par 3's and par 5's. The four par 3's on the course are virtually identical, being between ~180-195 in length into a flat green surrounded by 3-4 bunkers. It would be nice if there was some creativity or different green complex designs to break up the monotony. The issue with the par 5's at the course is not their length (which from the back tees is actually the same average distance of Augusta's par 5's this year...), but it's that they are designed to force you into a three-shot approach. It's almost impossible to go for the green in two shots unless you can draw/fade the ball accurately from 250+. Having a protected green is fine, but I would have preferred the option of at least being able to try for the green in two.
The biggest issue with Bridges, and the reason my rating is still so low is that the course has major drainage issues, to the point of being unplayable. Every fairway leads to a plugged lie, and I had to literally dig my ball out of the ground any time I used my driver. I know the course is built on a swamp, but on the back 9, there are two holes that are build onto an elevated landscape, and even on these giant hills my feet were still sinking into the fairway. This is simply bad landscaping when the hill that is higher elevation than the surrounding landscape is still flooded and unwalkable due to flooding.
Overall, the course has so much potential, but continues to disappoint due to the drainage. The bunkers were awful, but I decided not to factor them in since it's early April. Hopefully those improve with the warmer weather. I'll visit again in the summer to update my review if conditions improve.

Course is in great shape. Played the front nine on a Thursday late afternoon in April and it was wonderful! No beer cart, but they we advertising a beer special in which we partook. Light usage so far this year and, like I mentioned in the title, the greens and fairways were in mid season form. Would not hesitate to return.

Manager in the pro shop tried to impersonate the owner telling us we need to tip the ladies cleaning the carts $20 a piece after making the turn at 7:40pm when he said carts need to be in by 8pm on the phone and again during check in. When asked if he was the owner he stated yes pretty much. I asked again saying your are the owner correct, he changed his tune and said no I’m basically the head manager. Again saying we needed to tip the girls cleaning the carts (due to Covid cleaning guidelines) because we didn’t come in even though it was only 7:40pm.

This is honestly the best public course in Dane County. The fairways and greens are very nicely maintained. They upkeep everything very well. It's a nice place to play for all levels. It isn't very narrow like many of the other courses. This is the one course that I can go to with just 3 balls and walk away with at least one of those 3 balls.

This may be somewhat of a unfair rating due to certain factors outside of the courses control, namely heavy rains and extremely hot weather on a course with a lot of swamp/water areas and low lying ground. The only thing I wish they had done on a day like today, with carts restricted to the cartpath, is space out the tee times more than usual. That decision was necessary I understand, however it caused a large backup of play. On more than one occasion today there were 4 groups on a single hole. As a result my friend and I had to quit playing on #12 because we weren't going to be able to finish our round before we needed to return to Janesville. I have played here several times in the past and always been happy. Guess I just picked a bad day to come this time.
