Second visit there, had the gyro first visit & beef & cheddar this visit, both times the food was excellent & staff super nice! UPDATE: don't get the gyro 'to go'! Unwrapped at home it looked like ground beef, I deconstructed it & it looks like the shreds from the bottom of the slicing pan & the onions, if fresh, should have made the 20 minute ride home...

Just passing through and found this place. I'm from Illinois, so we have Portillo's all over the place, so I'm used to the good Vienna beef. If you find yourself close to this place and stop in you will ask yourself the same question I find myself asking now.....Portillo's who?
Tom (the owner) came out to ask how everything is. We got to chatting and he gave my wife and I a free beef that we could sample. Best I've ever had for sure. We will be back!

We aren't from the area, but we LOVE this restaurant. I enjoy sitting in the booths and the vintage vibes of the place. The best part, though, is the food. The Maxwell Polish sausage is delicious! The owner gave us a free sample to try before he officially put it on the menu, and we couldn't wait to get back to have it again. We also get the french fries--so yummy! And, I am picky about my fries. We stop here every time we visit. I wish we had a Brodie's Beef in our neck of the woods.

Best Italian beef you can find in Wisconsin, Walworth County.

The beef has no taste. I'm from chicago and that's tastes like it was bought from Vienna and cooked and served no garlic which is important! I am a connoisseur of hot dogs and Italian beef this is bland no juice at all on the bread! The fries fantastic place looks like a chicago beef and hot dog stand. I'll be back but not for the beef but other menu items look great. It's hard to get to off 50.

Maxwell Street Polish sandwich is advertised as charred polish with mustard & grilled onions on a poppy seed bun. This is the second time I ordered a Maxwell Street Polish and received it prepared like a hotdog. It doesn’t take too much attention to detail to read an order slip. Haven’t visited this place in a couple of years due to other similar issues of incorrect food orders and bad customer curtesy. Was hoping today would be different. If anything they are consistent.

Food is always delicious and made to order while you wait. We have always done takeout but there are a few tables inside if you want to eat there.
A bit tricky to get to due to the layout of the parking lot.... (who are these wiseguys planning parking lots anyway?? Always going around in loops when a straight aisle would do the trick.)
All in all, Brodies is worth a try if you haven't eaten there yet. Very good generous-sized sandwiches and sides.

I been here over a handful of times and I always get the same thing Italian Beef (Hot Peppers and Dipped) and A Gyro. It's been yummy each time. The only thing I strongly recommend the owner/manager do is consider updating their soda machine. All the drinks I got with my meals always taste off. I don't know if the proper cleaning is being done or the syrup to water ratio isn't right but, The soda is always watery or has a nasty after taste. Other then that, I definitely say give the food a try. The italian beefs are dipped just enough to where you can still pick them up and eat it which I love and they always overfill the fries which is a bonus. And they gryo meat is nice and flavorful 👍🏾

UPDATE: Because the owner graciously responded after 2 months of this initial opioniated review being up, "saying great to see you back today," I figure I would give an update.
I personally love the food here, so of course I want to go back and even give 2nd chances.
There was actual great staff here today, and more than 2 of them! Although the lunch rush was busy, it was super fast service. The young man who took our order was jumping out to clean tables in between orders. Floor was mopped (hey, it looks like a spill happened and got cleaned), but what a great sight. We ordered a Regular Italian beef (I dare say don't get the Jr you will be deeply aggravted as we were)) Food was hot and fresh!
Today's visit is why I chose to come back.
So I am very grateful to know the owner does infact read these reviews, seeing he knew my name and found my review to comment. If you see the awesome signage in the store, you will understand this amazing candor.
Thanks for reaching out, and it WAS great to be back today. I look forward to many more amazing visits like today.

I ordered the gyro with extra meat and I watched the girl take a little piece off of someone else's gyro she was preparing because I think she forgot until she was putting it together that it was supposed to be extra meat on mine. It was very disappointing. Don't pay for extra meat! It literally was the same amount I've had on a regular gyro.

Ordered a beef to watch the girl use a dirty rag to clean the counter then touching my food. She used a tong to put the beef on a sandwich then touched it with her fingers. She was wearing gloves but the only reason I think is to keep her hands clean. I seen another handle cash then load grill with food and not wearing gloves. My only question is why it's run by young girls and no owners or adults around. I tried them when it 1st opened years ago and finally gave it another try but I can say I will not return and don't think I will be missing anything.

I ordered the Italian beef & it was good to me, my wife is from Chicago & she was displeased saying it's nothing like Chicago style she gave the rest to the youngest, the fries were way too SALTY, I managed to brush some fries of salt & it was good, would of been great if less salt was put on them, I did test everyone's fries & they were too salty & they didn't finish their fries because of all the salt. The oldest ordered the gyro sandwich & it tasted like from a box, I looked to see if they had a broiler for the gyro meat & saw one but no meat on it & was spotless, so it told me she could be right & it might be box meat. I'm not from Chicago so it tasted good to me except for the fries. I've had Chicago Italian beef & it's not the same, it was good to me like I said, I would go to flippys in Burlington WI where u see the gyro meat on a broiler & cut right in front of u. If u like salty fries & to me good Italian beef this place is for u, I'm sure the other food is good but I won't be back to try it, I asked if the onion rings were fresh & she told me no the are frozen, so that tells me alot. The fries might of been to salty because the kids that work there don't care or love their fries with lots of salt. Go to Flippys in Burlington. Trust me.

Great local restaurant! We had a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were the only people in there, staff were cleaning when we walked in, but our food was hot and fresh and staff were friendly.
