Gluten free soy sauce is used for the beff bulgogi kimbop. Really yummy food. Cute esthetic. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on ingredients used. Fast service. Cheep prices. Felt safe eating here as someone with celiacs.

Stopped here on a whim passing through town. We got two kinds of kimbap, tofu gangjeong, and tofu japchae. Everything was very good. The tofu gangjeong had a wonderfully smokiness to it, highly recommend. The japchae could use a little more seasoning, but was still very good. The staff was also very helpful in helping me find vegan friendly options. We’ll be back.

Wings rank in my all-time top 3 - if not higher. Crisp and juicy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The flavor selection is few but what BroKogi lacks in variety the make up for in quality.

The mandu was also top tier. Crispy and warm made-in-restaurant pot stickers.

Staff was very kind and helpful. 🙏

Cool projector display on one of the walls, although rather repetitive K-Pop music lol.

We really enjoy the restaurant in Stevens Point so wanted to give the Wausau location a try. We were not disappointed. Even more wonderful things on the Brokogi Wausau menu. Enthusiastically recommend dining here often!

I cannot recommend BroKogi enough!! I lived in Seoul for 6 months and fell in love with tteokbokki. Since leaving, I have never been able to find it as good in America, until I found BroKogi!!! It’s awesome having such a great Asian restaurant right in our backyard here in Wausau.

We really enjoyed it. The young gal at the counter was very helpful. The food was very good. It has its own flavors, different from other Asian cuisine - there are some American dishes for the less adventurous. I got short ribs with kimchi side. The little chicken-bites were addictive.

We'll be back.

This place was recommended by a friend. I'm not from Wausau but was told this is the only Korean restaurant in town. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The food was delicious, exactly what I've been looking for. The only thing I would say is the wait time, but I'm not going to complain too much about that because we did order a lot and it's a restaurant, not a fast food place. We did order the food to go so we didn't get the full dining experience. But the staff was nice and as we were waiting, I saw them tend to the other customers, which they were also attentive and friendly. Over all, I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely go back when I visit Wausau again.

Ordered only the Bingsu and waited 1 hour for it. Wasn’t even busy and you could see staff just standing there but don’t know why it took so long just for bingsu. Bingsu was just ok. Food is deff better. Love Brokogi but don’t know if I’ll go to the Wausau one again. Stevens Point one has better service.

Service was super slow despite not being busy - 1 hour wait for any food. Our 3 entree + 1 app order came out at different times, with the last entree coming out 30 minutes after the first. The bibimbap has close to no meat and the pork katsu was very overcooked. The mandu and beef bulgogi were good.

11/10 would absolutely recommend! We traveled from FdL, WI, to visit Brokogi in Wausau. From the vast and authentic menu options, atmosphere & seating, and service we were absolutely chuffed <3 we ordered dolsot bibimbap, bulgogi jungol, and katsu kimbap. GRAND! Sweet & Spicy wings to go- HEAVENLY!! The banchan were also fabulous (: if you're new to Korean food- Do not hesitate to ask staff for advice <3 they want you to be satisfied!

The food is really good. The service is not. It’s not clear what the process is for ordering and receiving food and the employees don’t seem to know either. I’ve eaten here a handful of times and will continue to do so, but the wait time is sometimes nearly an hour for two meals. They don’t tell you this when you order. They don’t offer drinks and when you ask for water they seem confused. I’ve been offered a pitcher of water once and every other time it’s taken forever to get cups of water after asking and sometimes it’s forgotten all together. I’ve never been asked for a refill either. They don’t have silverware and some of the food requires knifes and forks to cut. Kind of an awkward experience because of the lack of awareness of the employees. Not sure what’s going on. Like I said, food is good. But something should be done about the rest. I love the kpop videos as well but the sound is so incredibly loud sometimes especially when you’re seated right under a speaker.

My girlfriend and I try to stop someplace new every time we go out for lunch. She suggested we try Korean which neither of us have ever had before. I thought the service was worth noting, the food was delicious, and the restaurant nicely decorated and clean.

The lady who took our order was very knowledgeable about the dishes they offer, how it compares to other dishes we might be used to (e.g. mandu is similar to dumplings at a Chinese restaurant), and skillfully articulated others.

Many other reviews suggest the service is bad because it is slow. While I agree, it took some time to get our food, I feel like this place is trying to get their footing. We learned this is the 2nd location (the first in Stevens Point). They wanted to offer a slightly different menu due to the fact that the kitchens are set up differently at each location (the Wausau location well equipped for soup but not fully suitable for other dishes). But they have learned/are learning over time what the Wausau crowd wants and plan to remodel/redesign the kitchen to suit the menu. I think it is important to be patient with new small local joints if we want them to succeed. If I thought it was a total flop, I'd say so. But I think this place has potential!

Since I haven't really had Korean food before, I was more worried that I would order something I couldn't eat. I like spicy food but scales can be different across cultures. I eat what our local Mexican restaurants say is #10 when it comes to the spice in my food. But that's jalapenos. I don't know what kind of spice is in Korean food. I landed on a dish that I saw on the Google Maps Menu that was not actually listed on the restaurant's menu. The lady said this could be found in some cases because they are actively updating their menu to suit the crowd as stated above. So I ordered the mandu for a starter knowing I'd be safe with "dumplings" if things didn't go my way. Then I went out on a limb and ordered Spicy Garlic Gangjeong ($17) which was AMAZING! "Boneless fried chicken and shrimp with a spicy sauce sauteed with garlic, scallions, and red bell pepper" that comes with a bowl of white rice (at diner's request) or a bowl of fried rice for a $3 charge. My friend ordered the Bibimbap ($15): "A signature Korean dish served as a bowl of warm rice topped with namul (seasoned vegetables), ground beef, and a fried egg. It was delivered to the table on a tray with a side of kimchi and a small bowl of miso soup. She thought the dish was good but she absolutely LOVED the soup!

I foresee this place doing well once they get established and know their customer base. I feel by then they'll have the place set up to serve their needs and employ more/enough friendly & helpful staff to ease the wait times from the kitchen and focus on table service. I'll definitely be back.

Great addition to the Wausau area! I've worked at a small Korean family owned restaurant back in Milwaukee years ago and it's nice to have a small joint like this to go eat, although this one is less of a full restaurant type place. You enter and are greeted to dine in or take-out. We're handed menus, take a seat anywhere then go up and order when we're ready.

So far the food has been great, though service on them coming out is quite slow. I've gone twice now with just my wife and my 1 yr old boy and the times we've gone, there wasn't a lot of customers. A few pick-up orders here and there but even then, it took a while to get our food. 1st time our main dish came out and the top part was cold, mid to bottom section of the food bowl was about luke warm. 2nd time around, the food came out warmer, not freshly cooked hot but not luke warm nor cold.

Atmosphere overall is really chill and friendly. It's nice to have something different in the area, prices have gone up to what I'm accustomed to when it comes to Korean bbq portions but that was before all the crazy COVID-ness took place. For what it is, it's a place I'll definitely come back to. If service and food quality stays consistent, this place can definitely thrive!

It is so wonderful to have Korean available in Wausau. The food and service were excellent.
If you are looking for authentic Korean this is not it. While it is delicious as it states in its name it is a fusion restaurant. I would be delighted to have some more traditional dishes but also realize that type of restaurant would likely not thrive in Wausau.

I don't eat beef and rarely eat chicken. So that leaves pork, seafood, and vegetarian options for me. I'm also not familiar with Korean food. The girl taking orders and the manager(?) were super helpful and made me a to-go box of many things I could eat... and eat I did!

The spicy pork wasn't too spicy by my palate, but that's not saying much. I love the kind of spicy that makes my eyes water, so take that as you will. There were some items in the box I cannot comment on what they were, but I can say that they were all pretty yummy. The seafood pancake thing was my favorite. Without sauce, I can see others calling it bland, but with sauce, it was legit off-the-chain (GenZ, that means it was really good).

The service was amazing. Clear communication on what was and was not possible, and substitutions were provided for something they did not have. They hooked it up!

A previous reviewer was upset that their food had been sitting on the counter while they waited and suggested that the restaurant call out numbers when food is ready. It's obvious the owners read reviews because I was handed a buzzer that went off when my food was ready and was able to immediately pick up my hot food, which was packaged very nicely.

4/5☆ on food because there was no rice. I may change this to a 5/5 when I come back and experience the food with rice.

Try BroKogi! You just might like it!

Food: T'was alright. I've had authentic Korean food in Boston & this is not what I remembered. The food was not as great as I remembered. Bibimbap was mediocre. Pancakes were not very flavorful. Even the bountiful sides weren't as I liked so much about K-food. One might be disappointed if this is their first experience with Korean food.

Service: TERRIBLE! Walked in & was given a menu & was told we could sit anywhere. We weren't told that we would then need to go back up to order? As normal, we tried a multitude of dishes & it took a VERY long time to get our food. They "ran out of water" so we had to buy drinks. K-pop music playing on the wall. I do enjoy K-pop, but it was the same girl group over & over & over. Maybe the food would make it better! Well...you read that part already?! Didn't finish a single dish because it was actually...not good?! And I'm not picky! Went back up to get to-go boxes...had to go back up again, because she was more concerned about taking orders than giving me my boxes. They never came back to ask how the food was, nor if we needed anything.

Atmosphere: mix between fast-food & dine-in. Had a dine in feel with fast food service. Small sitting area.

Overall: Don't waste your time or money! There was so much hype with it coming to Wausau from Stevens Point. I'm very disappointed in ALL of it. I will not return in fear of it ruining my great memories of the actual, delicious & authentic Korean food I had on the East Coast. Nothing was worth it! Don't do it!

The atmosphere and the room layout was super cute. The pork katsu kimbap had good ingredients, but the pork was very cooked. So it was hard to chew when you got to that point. The bossam was super big and chewy. The greeter was very pleasant and did a great job taking orders. However, one thing that lacked was the service. We received all of our food and still did not receive one of our items. A suggestion that might help in the future is giving customers numbers and call their number when it's done, so the customer knows when their order is done. The second time I went up to ask about my order after 30+ minutes. It was just sitting on the counter. I hope for a better experience from a different location next time.

First off, the food is off the hook excellent. The only bad thing is it took 50 mins to get our food. The lack of service is the reason why I will not be dining here anytime soon. If you are going to make customers wait for food that long at least offer refills on drinks. That way, they can have conversations with others and drink without worrying they need to save some for when the meal comes.

I ordered the seo-teok, kimchi pancake, bibimbap, and bossam. The seo-teok had a tangy-sweet taste with a little crisp from the rice cake. Kimchi pancake was okay, would have loved it if it was thinner and little more crisp. Bibimbap (stone-pot) was fantastic with the variety of vegetables and meat! Bossam was good, wish there were more vegetables (lettuce) especially with the amount of meat given. Overall, I give this restaurant a 3.5-4 star. One thing I would suggest is to give the food a little more kick of spice since everything I have tasted were sweet.
