The table shared the sampler app cheese curds bang bang shrimp and bacon rapped dates . Absolutely amazing the house made ranch was excellent. My wife got the meat loaf and it was great . I had the Chipotle chicken pasta which was fabulous. It was not overly hot just the right amount of spice . The drinks were top notch I had a lemon drop martini, a strawberry margarita , and a espresso martini which you can order with whatever picture you can find on the internet .

This was my second visit since moving into town and I was very disappointed by the service I received from the manager at the Waunakee location. I had ordered a pizza and I noticed a large black hair. I told my server who brought over her manager. The manager was very rude to our table. He was unprofessional during the interaction and walked away in the middle of me telling him about the experience. He said he would comp the pizza 50% off. I was shocked, he should have taken care of the entire price of the pizza since I was unable to eat it. He didn’t even offer to make me a new one as a courtesy. As we were leaving, my friend in my party mentioned she found a large black hair in her mashed potatoes as well.

This was my first time to a B&H in over 10 years, as all those years ago I had visited the Sun Prairie Location and left so angry, I vowed to never return.

After some arm twisting by my other half, I caved in, we went to the Waunakee location for the first time.

The hostess was nice and greeted us promptly.

The waitress came quickly to take our order, so things started off well.

The food showed up quickly. One order was a brunch thing, the other, a burger and mashed potatoes. My other half liked the brunch dish, as did I. The hamburger was really greasy and bland. It did not taste good at all. The potatoes were decent. The portion size was good. My main gripe of B &H years ago was the price and portion size. This visit showed B&H improved on those faults.

What was not acceptable (other than the bland greasy burger) at this visit was the server. She basically put us on the "pay no mind" list after taking the order. Never checked on us. We had to flag her down and ask for another drink order. I had to ask the bus person if someone would cash out the bill.

Also, another thing I don't understand is half of the restaurant was empty. Why stuff all of the guests at tables that were so close together? Give the guests some room. Another server kept bumping into my other half as he tried to stuff his way between our table and the one behind us. He did this several times. He could have chosen to walk around our table and then back over to his table but didn't want to take a few extra steps, I guess. Some coaching of your wait staff would go a long way.

My other half said she would return; I don't care either way. The burger wasn't that great, neither was the service. I'm a 1 star. She was at 4. I'll round up to be nice and settle on a 3 star review.

My family gathered here in their private space, the Warrior Room, for my parents' 65th anniversary and had a fabulous time, just excellent all the way around. A big shout-out to our server, Lucas, who is such a delight. So attentive, friendly, helpful, and professional. The food and wine were excellent, so many tasty appetizers and entrees. The room was spacious for our group of 13, I believe it seats up to 20. There's a big TV at one end of the table which was perfect for hooking up a laptop and running a slideshow of family photos. It was hopping on a Friday night but being tucked in the room allowed us to talk and laugh and visit with each other comfortably, without having to shout. Thank you so much for making it a special evening for my family!

We came across Buck & Honey’s well traveling home from UW Madison Children’s Hospital.

From the minute we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for any occasion. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu.

The food was approved by my 8 and 13yr old boys, let me tell you that says a lot! It was fresh, flavorful and definitely filling!

I really like this place. The food is good and authentic. I tried the fillet which was really good and the other time I tried a ahi tuna salad which was a little too sweet, but still good. Just got home after a nice fish fry dinner with my sister! Taylor was a great server. There was a 2oz serving of tartar sauce, which really wasn’t enough for 3 piece dinner! So I asked for another one for my third piece! When the bill came I see I was charged $1.00 for 2oz of tartar sauce! I think that is ridiculous!!! A customer should be told when there is an up charge! I was taking it home because I was full, if I knew there was a charge for it I would of said no, I do have mayo and pickle relish at home! Not always the best experience for the money $35. Bill and a $7.tip for just myself!

We went to Buck and Honey's in Waunakee on June 6, 5:30pm. My guest and I were very disappointed as we had great experiences at the Sun Prairie and Monona locations.

I ordered a Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet. The $10 drink was ALL brandy. My guest tried it and agreed it was too much brandy. When our server offered to get another drink for me, I said no - this was awful. "Well you should have told me, I would have gotten a different one for you" she said. I would have but she was no where to be found.

We ordered the cheese curd appetizer. This was $13 well spent. It came with ranch dipping sauce. The bussing staff was a bit aggressive taking the empty plate and ranch sauce - my guest still had two or three curds on his plate and wanted the ranch sauce. I had to almost yell at the bussing staff to get her attention.

We both had Grilled Prawns for $26 each. This is one of the Weekly Specials. We got 5 shrimp (not prawns) in a tasty sauce, a serving of cheesy type of potatoes and broccoli for a veggie side. The broccoli wasn't raw but very undercooked. The prawns (shrimp) were tough. My guest had one that was raw.

The whole experience was underwhelming as I had great previous experience at other locations. The bill came in just under $80. For that amount of money, there are plenty of other options.

This was the most expensive bad food I ever had the occasion to not eat! Ordered Land and Sea $56.00. Instead of the Filet I ordered I received a ribeye . It was gristly and gross- the butter on the top never melted, the twice baked potato dry and cold and the side vegetables also cold🤯. The crab cakes arrived 30 minutes later and were okay. I’m a jaded restaurant guest. I’ve been to a lot, I’ve cooked in some. More often than not, I leave a restaurant feeling like it was “meh” Or a waste of time and money. “ I should’ve cooked at home”, I will think. And I think about my meals here maybe once a week or so. So it was our 6 month anniversary. All going well until we ordered non alcoholic drinks. My partner's drink had a burning sensation as if there were alcohol mixed in it. Afterwards they took 20mins to get a remake of the drink back to us. Which tasted like the actual drink we have had at the other locations. With that being said my partner was very uncomfortable during the rest of our time there. We are very disappointed in how they handled it and treated us. My Aunt & my Cousin took me out for a belated birthday dinner. I live in the neighborhood & it was something close and good. We enjoyed everything and had my go-to, Firecracker Shrimp to start, my cousin & aunt shared an order of wings.

I am forced to rewrite my previous 5 star review!! The last 3 times we have been there the food has taken a HUGE step back!! The service staff belongs in the service hall of fame!!! But food wise… where do I start! Tonight my wife ordered the special tenderloin and tender it was not!! Nor was it special. My full rack of ribs was average at best but since we sent back my wife’s dinner we both ate the about half the ribs!
Last week we ate outside listening to fantastic live music and my Medium Rare Ribeye came well done and cold(a fine combo) and our friends fish dinners were way over cooked! We will keep coming because we have had great dinners and memories these last 3+ years but until I get 2 great meals in a row my review will stay at 2 stars! Just trying to stay honest here

Very busy/popular place. We waited 45 minutes for a table because we didn't call ahead. It was worth the wait though, the food was generally very good.

I would give the cheese curds a B, you could get just as good or better cheese curds almost anywhere

Drink selection was good

Pork belly sliders were very nice.

My kid's pizza off the kids menu was huge!

**Fair Fanfare with a Hefty Price Tag**

Preface: This bright restaurant in the little town of Waunakee boasts quality food and cocktails at top dollar. They provide quality cuisine while falling short in other areas.

Food: I ordered the Wagyu Burger with Garlic Mashed potatoes and a Classic Mojito. The entree and side were done excellently with flavor and temperature on point. Quality is the utmost importance here. As for the cocktail, the execution was poor, but not entirely the bartender's fault as they were new. At a whopping $35 for one drink, an entree and side, the value was not entirely there.

Service: Staff were nice, but lacked energy. I understand it's a Monday night, but I felt that there was a lack of liveliness for such a fun looking restaurant.

Atmosphere: Clean and refined. Cohesive in restaurant design.

Overall: This is one of those places where it made me think whether or not I thought it was a valuable experience. The food was great and it was cozy, but for how expensive it is and how drab it felt, I don't know how often I would return.

Great service and great food. We stopped in for a quick drink and appetizers at the bar to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we had a great experience. The bartender and manager were very friendly. We'll definitely be going back the next time we're in town.

Friday, older lot of three, ended up at peak time. Bad idea. Started to wait for outdoor seating but discovered that the singer was extremely loud, unpleasant sounding - switched to inside. All ordered fish fry. Two very happy w food and service. It was so loud that when waitress asked baked or fried - one said baked - (thought server asked about potato- but was asking about fish). When discovered- said no - she meant the potato - not fish. Oh fine- took food away- then was brought - a potato. When she wanted to check on food - others said - oh no they will bring it. Twenty minutes later when discovering-- there would be no other food- they were shocked to realize - because waitress had misunderstood that she wanted the fish fry- but had asked for baked potato - there was no more food coming. Training servers to repeat the order would have prevented the entire fiasco of not getting her food (except for the additional small salad and baked potato). She did not eat potato- preferring an ordinary potato that was not completely re-processed, over seasoned. The others enjoyed the default cheesy hash browns. The sound levels everywhere - completely unacceptable- but also - not unusual for fish fry night.

I had baked cod on Friday night. They put cod, hash browns and cole slaw on the plate together which you should never do. Cole slaw ran into everything. Also had to wait a while to get our bill.

Food was expensive but amazing. Clearly fresh ingredients are used & nothing is ever frozen. The wait staff was also very accommodating. My husband and I had the chicken dinner & an old fashioned. Everything was so delicious. We’re super happy we found this place. ALSO you have to try the Thai chicken lettuce wrap appetizer. SO GOOD.

A really nice meal. We were there with 4 other friends. No complaints around the table. Waitress was very attentive. I had the walleye which was perfectly prepared.

Only problem was the noise. The restaurant was packed and talking with old friends was difficult.

Our food was good, but mine came out not prepared as ordered, so they remade it. By the time I got it, my lunch date was done. However, it was very good when corrected! The garlic mashed are to die for!
In the end, they didn't charge me for my lunch, which wasn't necessary, but appreciated. Our waiter was alone in our section, but it wasn't a busy day. Not sure where the error began, but would still recommend. I had the chicken bacon wrap. Excellent.

Nice little restaurant with an upscale barfood menu. Service and food were good and resonable. The bacon wrapped dates were the star. The sassy curds were deep-fried cheese balls, good but not life changing. Nashville chicken sandwich had some nice heat.

This was my first time at any Buck & Honey’s and to say I was disappointed, is an understatement. My husband was also not impressed. The waiter was hard to understand. We got confused on what the special was. When asked if soup came with the special, he simply repeated the special without answering “yes” or “no”. We repeatedly had to ask “what” as we couldn’t hear nor understand what was being said. The cheese curds appetizer was the best thing of the whole meal. The main meal came out fairly quickly. We both had the 2 piece fried cod dinner. The cod was over fried; the breading was a dark brown instead of golden. Parts of the fish were so overcooked it was discolored. The coleslaw had chunks of cabbage and onion in it as well as being under seasoned. The cheesy hashbrowns were cold on the outside, burning hot on the inside and WAY over salted. At one point, I took a bite of just salt. The hashbrowns themselves were basically mashed potatoes without being mashed. They were very soggy and not very cheesy. The dinner roll was very hard. It tasted okay but it should have been warmed up longer to soften. Unfortunately, we will not be returning customers. We have better experiences and food quality at local small-town diners than this award winning restaurant.
