We had not been to Buckets since the change in ownership and were excited to finally do so. Were able to get a table right away. It was Sunday night so the place was not busy, maybe 10 tables at the most it appeared there was only one waitress on duty. We were not in any hurry and took that time to study the menu. When she appeared she was friendly and professional. We asked about the rewards program and she explained we would get points and free cheese curds just for signing up. Also, if we did sign up we would have points added for our meal when she checked us out after our meal. We placed our order and proceeded to sign up for the rewards program. I was able to see my points and free cheese curds almost immediately. At one of her visits to our table we asked what website or Url we go to check our points etc. Our waitress did not know and said the program had been only added within the last week or so. She did not offer to find out for us.

We have since found that you can sign in on the Buckets website.

We finished our meal. Received our check and saw that there was a price listed if you wanted to pay by card, $33.29, and an amount. $32.32 if you paid with cash. I checked and I had more than enough cash to pay the bill and save some money. I put $40 cash with the bill. The waitress brought $7.00 exactly as my change and no receipt. Ok so she shortchanged me $0.68. When I asked her about it she said she enters the cash into the machine and it tells her how much change to give the customer.. I asked if I could please have my receipt. When I pointed out the difference, she did not apologize but did leave and came back and not so gently put $0.75 on the table. Still no apology. Very disappointing and if I were another person. I may only have tipped her the $0.75 but I did not. I did not tip her as.much as I had originally planned but it was close to 20%
Our receipt is time stamped 7:01 pm. It is now 9:30 pm and my rewards balance has yet to be updated for our meal.Because I paid cash do I not get the points?

All in all, the rudeness of your employee and the lack of clarity about your rewards program made for a very disappointing visit to your establishment.

I haven't eaten a whole lot of things from Buckets, but there are two items that stand out. Their wings, whether grilled or regular, have been outstanding. I do have one minor complaint about the grilled wings though. You can do so much with other sauces instead of limiting the grilled wings to the buffalo variety. I think a grilled teriyaki wing would be just as good... Also, their nachos are second level great! I can't simply order a half bucket - I always have to go the full bucket, just because... My only negative comment has to do with *some* of the service. There are multiple bartenders that have been beyond phenomenal but there are two that seem to get themselves stuck a bit even when things aren't as busy. Overall, though, y'all got me so keep doing what you're doing and my business with you will continue.

Edit: I have to reduce my food rating. While the food is excellent, their QA when sending to-go food out flat out sucks. I just ordered 30 grilled wings and they’re not cheap. I requested nothing but bleu cheese. When it came out the sealed bag with the dips said nothing but bleu cheese - happy me! I get home and open the order and what do I find? Seven ranch cups. For an order that cost me almost $50 I’d expect more care with the order prep and QA. Awesome wings - crappy kitchen read of an order.

I was skeptical about this place for so long after the ownership change. My extended family always rents out the banquet hall area and gets wings. After my family did this, I knew buckets changed for the better. There’s so much more menu options, including wing flavors. I think buckets still has the best wings in SE Wisconsin. I tried the pizza today… it is pretty high on the pizza place list too. They have specials like 75 cent wings on tuesdays and pizza&beer deals on thursdays. I can’t wait to try the nachos 🫡

I called in a carryout order. The female that took the order couldn't answer my questions and had to keep putting me on hold. It was a very lengthy process to place a very simple order. We had 3 separate taco orders. 2 orders were for steak tacos. The meat had absolutely no flavor and there was barely any meat on the tacos. It was a very disappointing and expensive experience that will never be repeated. Unfortunately, the taco truck that we absolutely love was closed tonight and we really wanted steak tacos. We seriously made a huge mistake (higher price & very poor quality) by ordering from Buckets2 rather than waiting one extra night to go to the taco truck. Never again!!
2/20/25 update: These added comments do not change the situation from last night, but after a lot of frustration, I called today and spoke to a kitchen manager, Theresa, who felt awful about the awful experience that we experienced last night. She was able to provide a lot of different ways to place our order in the future, items to request, and informed me of items that are available that were not listed on the menu by the items we ordered. Maybe at some point they will revise their menu or atleast, have the staff that are taking the orders, will offer additional items that they truly have available and simply aren't listed by the tacos.

We go to Buckets at minimum twice a month, and spend roughly $100 each time if not more.
We get generally the same thing every time for takeout- 1-2 orders of Cajun fries, 20-40 signature wings, and 20-40 grilled wings.
I’ve never once made a complaint regarding the food or service but I’m extremely disappointed tonight. We ordered food and it was an hour wait- that’s fine, it’s super busy. Picked up the order and got home- it’s around a 30 minutes drive. Lo and behold we’re missing 40 wings- more than half our order. Called and they said they were aware and could make them- but now I have to drive back and leave the food we do have to sit for an hour and would be soggy and cold. Called back to request a refund and I’m told they can’t refund partials so they have to contact the card company and request it that way. Multiple times they’ve forgotten the Cajun seasoning on our fries which is only a $1 charge- I’ve never complained, and twice we’ve been missing dips we paid for. Honestly I’m super annoyed at tonight as we just wanted a nice dinner for us and the kids and we have to postpone it and figure something else out. Really disappointed and doubt we’ll be going back for a very long time.

I had a piece of hair on my wings when they came out ( short either blond or grey. Which I have neither of ) and told the bartender that was helping me. I didn’t make a scene or anything just simply was letting her know because someone else might not have been so understanding. I enjoy wings from buckets… always have. However, placed a phone order, was told 35-40 min… when I came to pick my order up, there was no record of it. Told me the bartender who may have taken the order was gone already. The service recovery as concern for the inconvenience was nonexistent. I was given an “unfortunately” apology & told I can order again and we’ll have them ready in 15-20 min… but that’s it (& the price wasn’t the same as what I was told).
Businesses have to take better care of their customers… if they truly value them. Far too many options not to.

I have not been here since the new owners took over. My dad is sick with cancer and he doesn't have much of an appetite anymore, so when he told me he was craving wings from Buckets, I ordered take out. Back in my softball playing days, we came here at least once a week, and the wings were always our favorite. Back then there weren't many bars serving wings like these, so it was the place to be. Although I loved their wings, I hated ordering them Togo because the steam being trapped in the box always made them so soggy by the time I got home. So when my dad wanted them tonight, I prepared myself for soggy wings. I called and ordered from a very nice young lady. I'm assuming it's the same girl that brought the bag out..she was very nice. I got the food home and was a bit bummed when I opened the box and I saw that it looked like there was hardly any sauce on them ( BBQ and original is what we ordered) well once I ate one, I realized I was wrong, there was no need to over sauce them because they were very good. The best part was, the wings were nice and crispy... the new owners must be geniuses because their boxes now have little vent holes for the steam!! The only sort of downfall was that the blue cheese didn't taste like the same as the original Buckets had, it sort of tasted like mayonnaise... but whatever, the wings were good enough on their own anyways. So thank you Buckets for filling up my dad. It was really nice seeing him eat and actually enjoy something for once.

Built my own burger. Big Mistake!! Hands down the absolute WORST burger in town. This place should be ashamed. I have had better burgers from my teen's high school cafeteria. Unlike the original Buckets, they do not cook to order. I asked. No med-rare, medium or even alittle pink. They just grab a frozen patty and burn it. I literally felt the moisture being sucked out of my mouth this thing was so dry.

Ordered wings and cheese curds online using the Seamless Grubhub option for pickup. Ordering was easy and online payment easy as well. My boyfriend got to the restaurant to pick up our food and what do you know our order wasn't there and nobody knew anything about it. Well a grubhub driver walked into the restaurant with our order that was put on a shelf for delivery. I would have requested new food to be made but I wasn't there to pick the order up. In my opinion they should have done that no matter what. Will not order food online again which means we will most likely not eat here again unless out on that side of town and in the mood to sit in the restaurant. $50 is alot of money for luke warm wings and cold cheese curds. I will say the wings had good flavor and they were large.

Its sad that their reviews remain so high, theyre all old reviews, from when Buckets was great... I myself had to delete my previous review to make this edit.

Ill start with service because it was great, the lady who took our order was extremely nice, polite, amd attentive without being overbearing.
The atmosphere is a bit cluttered and random people inject themselves into your conversations, or just talk to you out of the blue... they arent rude (at least to me) but i dont like it. I feel like if there was a bit more space between the tables and stools it wouldnt happen as much, but moving on.

The food the last 3 or 4 times has chamged for the worst, from smaller, slimey feeling grilled chicken wings, to the very generic nachos they serve at high prices because they serve it ridiculously, to the "smash" burger i had last time that wasnt smash, but a frozen puck that had no seasoning, the only thing i could taste was freezer burn and made me queezy enough i couldnt finish it or my beer. The cheese curds have more grease than cheese... fries are good when ordered "extra crispy" because they are cooked long enough to make the thick fry not soft and starchy.

Over all im sad to see a place near me that I amd many enjoyed for decades sliding down hill, charging top prices for cheaper frozen foods. Id love to see them step back up the level of quality we grew to love, even if the prices have to go up to reflect our current economy. I dont think ill be back there for awhile

I had lake perch. It was great. The waitress was great. She was very attentive. A little pricy but that's all over. Prices are getting out of hand. Everything keeps going up except the money in our pocket. Where is all this money going. To the wealthy.

We had a group of 10 in our party. The service was good although the place was quite busy with the lunch crowd. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. She did tell us she couldn't do individual checks due to how busy they were, but she did end up giving us each a bill. Food was very good. I'd go back again.

First all, I usually don’t do reviews unless I have a problem, so for our family movie night we decided to order wings usually we got them from another restaurant but they were having a party so we tried Buckets and what a disaster. I ordered the wings from the bar, asked the guy behind the bar. What was the difference between grilled and bone in wings? He gave me his version, which was not very descriptive. As I ordered my wings I asked for a drink while I wait for my wings that I never got. After a 25-30 min wait, Once I brought the wings home and once we open the container, the wings had not been what we ordered.

So I called and told them that I got the wrong order. The hostess explained that the guy who took my order didn’t really understand how the wings were prepared so she said they can make them again the right way but bring back the other wings and they’ll be ready in 25 minutes.

No problem I brought the wings back next thing you know I get there maybe within 20 minutes I had to wait another 25 minutes for the new wings. I can say that the hostess was trying her hardest to be accommodating which I appreciate but the rest of the staff they needed to a do over on customer service, after my long second wait for my wings, another woman came over and decided to refund me back my money which was good, but still didn’t refund me back my time that I had to wait so needless to say one and done.

We wanted to try out the fish fry and figured go just before 4pm, we like to sit a the bar but it was packed that soon, on the end by the kitchen theres 3 stools and 2 had a cone saying be right back, they were there for freinds that sat right on the corner, we noticed a stool out of place so moved so now theres 4 stools and sat down, we started off with drinks and ordered after about 10 minutes, there was some confusion on who would take the order when we said were ready, the barkeep asked who served the drinks and said they will get the order, what? Its a bar not a table with a specific waitress. The order was taken and food came out in a reasonable amount of time, we both thought the fish was very good, the coleslaw was not, big shreds and chunky, not much flavor because there wasn't much dressing so it was dry and like eating fresh cut cabbage, the fries were good and tarter sauce is from dill i believe and like mine with sweet relish, to bad someone doesn't ask mark for now closed cliffs boathouse coleslaw and tarter sauce recipe. Served a half a piece of rye bread with butter, over all the very good fish wont be enough to bring me back. Not to say there was anything wrong but slaw and tarter not for me, we spent an hour there with one having a few margaritas and me a few beers, the cones were picked up when the other peoples left and obviously there friends didn't show, which to me they should have opened those seats long before as i saw others come there only to see the cones and walk away. We received the bill and noticed the margaritas had 2 rail charges and a more expensive that said GOAT, no one said nor asked about which they wanted but the person drinking them said they didn't notice any difference between them, so the top shelf tasted like rail it seems or was the all rail, i think a person should be asked rail or premium, i believe most would go premium. I wont order them out because mine at home i use 100% agave tequila, good triple sec or gran marnier, fresh lime juice and a little nectar agave, once that and no bar or restaurant drinks match up. When we first arrived i asked if there was a seafood platter but they do not although the barkeep sait that is a good idea, mix cod, perch and a few shrimp but not. The atmosphere was close to the old buckets almost turn key but a few things are different in the old pool table area, i noticed a host table up front with a hostess standing there but rarely saw anyone coming through the front doors so im not sure how productive it is in that area but thats my opinion only. They do have the banquet room open for overflow so if real busy it looks like you will get a seat right away.

First time at 2nd Round (new ownership). The wings were the same and yummy but I'm completely put off by their prices. We just happen to go on $0.75 wing night (Yay for us) but they get you back by overcharging for their appetizers and ice tea. We ordered the "smelt basket" for $9 and got 8 little smelt. That's crazy for any Itty bitty piece of fish. Ice tea was a mix because they poured it out of a pitcher and it was $4 a glass. WHY??? If you want people to come back then give them a reason to. The place was packed so I'm sure they could care less about this review, but I'm doubtful I'll return. Just disappointed.
