They claim to have all day breakfast; they don’t. We walked in at 11am and were told breakfast was long over. Service was poor in general, the indoor seating areas were dark/sticky. Outdoor seating was good, smokers look great. We had a few drinks, coffee, wings and then went to find actual breakfast. Wings were good, coffee was undrinkable.

Sorry but the service has been terrible lately. Went there for a few cocktails and food. Sat at the bar with an empty glass for 17 minutes. Another customer saw the cook come out and asked for a drink and he told her he couldn't because he cooks and walked away. Never got to order food. Would have spent a little more if the service would improve. I know of a few others who got crap service also.

The food selection is great. We've had smoked meats a few times there, and they've been delicious. There's a nice playground for the kids to play on whole you wait for your food. Every experience I've had visiting there, except for one, has been excellent.

The last time we were there, we waited an hour for our ribs and brisket. By the time the food had gotten to us, it was very dry and it had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp. The waitress was nowhere to be found. This is the first time that happened.

But like I said, we've eaten here a lot and only had one bad experience. I'd still highly recommend.

Very disappointed with our dinner. Me and my husband ordered from Off the Smoker. The ribs weren't cooked all the way, and my pulled chicken was disgusting. Dry, didn't taste good, and either one had not even a hint of smoked flavor. Very small portion for the chicken, but even if it was a bigger portion , I wouldn't of ate it. Took one bite and that was it, not edible at all. The waitress was new and didn't know about any drinks they made, or what they carried. I am pretty sure the sauces were spoiled, the sweet and tangy was chunky and tasted like cocktail sauce, the rest just tasted bad. Sour. We paid $65 dollers for two dinners and two drinks. It was not worth the money. I took one bite of my chicken, the cowboy beans were ok, and the cornbread was the only thing worth eating. My husband at maybe half of his ribs we were so disappointed, we just left without eating. It really was awful.

I gave it 5 Stars, but my wife would have given in 1 Star. My order was excellent! I order the two meat plate. Extra fatty cut Brisket and Ribs. Just awesome! The bark was perfect, the meat to fat ratio creates a super tender juicy feast. I was excellent. The side of Creamy Corn was delish with a nice spicy flavor. The baked potato was cold and, well - awful.

My wife ordered the Pulled Pork with fries and Potato Salad. The Pulled Pork was dry, no flavor - kind of like either sat all day and then was warmed up. The fries - cold. The Potato Salad was average, but nothing special.

Bummer for my wife……. Service was average, I think we had a new server, she had no answers to our questions. The venue is great with lots of locals.

Stopped in to escape the rain. Ordered a mushroom Swiss with grilled onions. Cooked medium. Burger was basically a small flat dry unedible charcoal briquette. It was cooked way past well done and was saltier than a deer lick. The toppings were almost non-existent and there wasn’t enough catchup on the table to make the burger moist enough to swallow. The bun was just as dry and hard. Add a soda and a tip and that was the worst $20 that I’ve spent in a long while. I’m far from picky but that was terrible. Won’t rate it one star because the waitress was nice and it looks like a cool, fun, inviting place.

I have been eating here for years, not sure if they changed ownership or recipies, my wife had the pulled pork, it was not edidible, waaaay to much salt, actually.triggered my gag reflex, I would have given the service a 4 star, but when we told the waitress it was to salty to eat, she laughed and walked away, NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL!! the macaroni & cheese was bland & flavorless, very disappointing. I had the rueben with fries, fries were not edible duento the amount of salt on them and then like the macaroni... the rueben was flavorless. The only thing I could taste was the thousand island. This was a heartbreaking evening, as the last time we were here (previous summer), it was absolutely amazing. Fun place to go & drink, the staff are very friendly, and food arrives in a timely manner, a giant playground for the kids as well as cornhole boards for the adults. Ordered a carry out fish fry March 1st....the fish was a different shape and MUSHY🤮 Another review for the same day said the same thing about the fishfry. Have ordered good fishfry takeouts many times before. Buckhorn...did you have to change suppliers? We visited Buckhorn Grill last Saturday around 11pm. The service was great. The bartender made time to tell us about the area and things to do. He even made sure to prioritize getting our toddlers food out first and my ask for plastic silverware for my little one.

Our food was wonderful. I had the brisket tacos and I was very surprised with how great they were as brisket isn’t normally my number one choice.

Just past the “grade” (which is a narrow road with water on both sides) off Castle Rock Lake, is a tiny bar featuring smoke house specialties. They have a decent menu with some unique items, like kick’n corn salad. The prices are super reasonable. The ribs were definitely incognito. I thought they may be mediocre, but I was happily wrong. They were perfect! You could pick them up but they didn’t disintegrate on you. Don’t get me wrong, they were tender, and the bones still could be pulled out easily. The seasoning was perfecto! They have a nice selection of sauces that paired well.
The coleslaw was not soggy and not too sweet or too creamy. The cabbage still had some crunch. The kick’n corn salad was sweet corn with a cream cheese base that carried a mild heat with it. Everything was good and super quick! I am talking under 10min.
My husband had a burger that he said was good, however, wasn’t a fan of the Mac’n Cheese. He thought that is was bland. I thought it looked good, but I don’t eat gluten, so I couldn’t say.
Service was super friendly. There is a nice outside seating area, as well as a wine room with seating that was more private. The place was very clean, and cool. There were UTVs and ATV’s driving around. Lots of fishing boats in the area. There are several tables for families. The fully stocked bar did make some nice drinks. You could try the wine flights with a nice selection of wines. They are reasonable with the prices on those.
They also have tequila and whiskey flights available if you are looking to find the perfect flavor for the night. Overall a unique find for the Castle Rock area.

The service was prompt. The food was not even edible. I ordered the ribs beans and fries. My friend ordered pulled chicken with 2 sides. Ribs were almost raw and very fatty. Pulled chicken had globs of fat mixed in with the chicken. My friend picked the chicken out of the pile and ate a small portion but she didn't want to complain. I sent the ribs back to the kitchen and asked to have them removed from my bill. I stated i woukd pay for my 2 sides. The server said they would comp the ribs and I could order something of equal or lesser value from the menu. At this point I didnt want anything from this kitchen. The server insisted so I ordered the tacos. The tacos were the same fat blobs mixed into the chicken as what my friend had. At this point I just wanted to leave. I asked for the bill. I was charged for the tacos and 2 sides. I paid it and left. Disgusting food. Many other places on the lake with much better food. Avoid this restaurant if you're hungry!

Arrived at about 7 PM on a Friday. Ordered immediately and just tried to enjoy the atmosphere. We were assured after 45 minutes that our food would be out in the next five minutes or so. No problem as a Friday night can be busy. 30 minutes later still no food. When we asked our server, if we were going to be receiving our food in the near future, she chastised us. As far as we could tell, no one else had received their food in the entire time we were sitting there. We were told it would be at least another 20 minutes before we received our food. Very disappointed in the service. Wish I could comment on the food, but we never saw any come out. We definitely won’t be returning and would recommend others avoid this place if you can.

We were a group of 12 on a Friday night. We made reservations and were seated quickly under a nice outdoor roof. The shade and breezes were very comfortable. The food was FANTASTIC! I had the cod fish fry. Everyone were thrilled with their meals, which says a lot for a party of 12! The place was very busy and the waitstaff were attentive and helpful. There is a huge parking lot to the east of the building. The driveway on the corner is tiny - so aim for the giant one to the east.

As you could probably see from my somewhat long winded reviews, I usually give something 4-5 stars or just one. This place gets stars because considering their chilled out menu, they have gems like the blackberry jam & jalapeño melty grilled cheese, homemade brisket, and beer battered mushrooms.

The inside is nicely done, the outdoor patio is large, and the staff are always rad. It’s nice to be in a rural establishment in this neck of the woods (Western-Central Wisco) that doesn’t have weird or prejudiced vibes. If you want to feel welcome no matter who you are and enjoy a fish fry or sandwich, I’d suggest Buckhorn.
