It's fairly priced, acceptable, but not authentic. I got an avocado salad with steak. It has lots of fresh avocado, a good lime cumin dressing, and some taco meat. Next time I would get it without the meat, as I had expected correctly, it was insipid. Service was nice. Just if you order something authentic like fried plantains, don't be surprised if you get mushy fried bananas which happened to me at another location.

Such Bad Attitudes Lately

We’ve been ordering take out from Corazon for years, but the last few times we’ve called to place an order we have been met with such rudeness. I have been ordering the same thing for years, and suddenly I can’t pay to add queso to a dish despite the fact it’s available as a substitution. I’m not trying to get it for free, it never used to be an issue, but as soon as I request it the staff (multiple times now) suddenly become really condescending and refuse to try and help or explain why I can’t order that anymore. We will be looking for a new place to frequent. It’s a bummer.

The environment was pretty unique. Loved the Mexican aesthetic a lot. However the food was not seasoned that well. The rice, beans, and carnitas barely had flavor. We had to request hot sauce to add to the torta to give it more flavor. They didn’t have salt or pepper at the table to adjust the rest to our liking.
Some pros were that the veggies were nice and fresh and the meat was cooked well and not over cooked. Other than that, it was an okay place. They offer vegan options as well which is a plus for them.

Café Corazon was a spectacular experience! The food was amazing and full of fresh and hydrating ingredients, which made every bite refreshing. That is, tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado, aligned with proteins and beans, all atop of a Cuban and Mexican style brunch! This restaurant is perfect for Sunday morning affairs and socializing, and the outdoor patio is very accommodating to a more relaxed and causal outdoor dining experience. I recommend the tostadas of any kind...and the pineapple mimosa! You'll even get half of the small bottle of the champagne the bar used to make the drink to chase it all down! This is a very chill place with great service! 5 STARS FOR ME!!!

Ordered pick up on a Monday evening between 6-7pm. There were a few tables occupied outside and one patron inside at the bar.

The outside patio area is cute and we considered coming back to dine in. However, that idea quickly left our minds upon interacting with a staff member.

When we first came in, we were 1) not greeted, and 2) one of the staff members inside was very passive-aggressive. We said we were there for a pick-up order and when it was unclear if our beverages were with the rest of our order, she spoke to us in a very condescending manner. She was the only staff member we interacted with. This interaction alone is enough to keep us from coming back again. Very unpleasant woman.

The food itself is just okay and on the bland side. You're better off going to any of the local taco trucks in the area.

We always enjoy Cafe Corazon. We have eaten at the Bay View location and that good too but we really prefer the Riverwest spot. The outdoor seating is fun, the food and drinks are great and the service is excellent.
It’s a little more difficult in the winter as the dining room is small, but ant wait is worth it!

Asked for the beans and rice on the side, and the salad was super yummy with shrimp as protein. The shrimp was scrumptious, fat and juicy. Definitely will have again while on keto.

Best Burrito
Best of both worlds, I guess. It's not as smothered in sauce like the wet burrito, and it comes with both green and red sauces. Hubby prefers regular over wet, but tried this one, and likes best best.

Stuffed Bell Pepper
It's so stuffed that you can't see the bell pepper. Had to dig around to see that it did indeed have peppers. Haha. Friend says it had very good taste.

She suggested the tres leches cake, and omg now we have to come back often, just for THAT! Corazon is one of my favorite MKE restaurants! I was there on DAY ONE of opening, and keep coming back as often as I’m able. I mostly go to the Riverwest location, where Elena and all the staff are so welcoming, accommodating, and friendly. Elena literally remembers my order each time and makes me feel special to be a guest (more like a friend). She even does all the chalk art for the menus!
It can get very busy on weekends and some nights (long wait), but it’s worth it. I love summers on the patio, and gathering a group of a 4-6 friends for some tacos and tequila. The food is fresh and delicious, and locally sourced. My favorite dish is the Mole Enchiladas. Drinks are also great (do the house marg or Paloma!); they have happy hour specials and a portion of proceeds donated to charity on Tuesdays. Corazon is my happy place!

We came on 1/16/25…. the service was good and the drinks were ok. i originally got the cruncher wrap and it was flat and it was extremely bland. Our sever did her best to fix the order and subbed it for the pibil tacos. They looked good. When i bit into the taco immediately i realized the meat had a burnt flavor and i stopped eating and pushed my plate to the edge of the table ang ate my side of avocado and finished my drink. I had high hopes for this place but was thoroughly disappointed.
