The food is pretty good but the service leaves a lot to be desired. We sat down to eat and my husband discovered the food needed salt. He asked the lady at the checkout counter to help him find some because there wasn’t any on the condiments counter. She told him to wait, and she proceeded to wait on 3 or 4 other customers, some who came up long after he did. When she finally did look, she told him they were out of salt! Who ever heard of a restaurant running out of salt?

I wanted to like this based on I have tried this before in Milwaukee and loved it… this store is close to home and I was excited about it.
Extremely disappointed in this store. The “salad” I received was just thrown in a “to-go” bowl, when I said I was eating in. The finished product looked NOTHING like the picture on the menu board and was missing almost all of the ingredients. A very boring, bland and unappealing product. My husband said his brisket sandwich tasted like it was sitting in the refrigerator for a week and then reheated in the microwave and thrown on
un-toasted ciabatta bread. (It was not busy.. besides us, there were only two other tables occupied). A very underwhelming meal at a rather expensive price. If their motto is “nourish”… then at this store, the patrons better take their vitamins before their meal.. because there’s nothing nourishing about them. Also, there was nothing welcoming about ANY of the service staff.. I will be happy to drive to Brookfield for a better experience.

Unfortunately, there were too many mistakes happening in the order line and it was very confusing when we went to pay for our order. There were things we didn’t even order and a half salad when we ordered a full salad. As it was being sorted out, the woman at the beginning of the order line spoke very loudly while trying to straighten things out, which made the whole interaction uncomfortable and awkward. 😬

I ordered through Grubhub and when I went to pick it up, it was a rainy day so I thought I could go through the drive thru, I could see it was not busy and there were a bunch of staff standing around and had to wait until someone noticed me to come to the window. I told them my order and they said I have to walk in and pick it up myself. They didn’t even greet me at the drive thru window and I had given them a tip on that order. Worst customer experience, and I love the food but this made me feel unwelcome.

The cremini mushroom soup and pesto chicken is awesome. I also enjoyed the mango mojito drink. The chocolate covered strawberries were a bit of a let down- only half dipped. The service was alright, but the staff seemed unorganized- why is the team lead making salad and being a cashier at the same time, all while not taking his gloves off. I watched one of the girls touch the inside of her ear to twist a piercing without changing her glove- a small but important detail. The food is good, the price is good, but I feel like the staff need some re-training on sanitation and a better division of responsibilities.

My husband dined inside with a friend and brought me a 1/2 California Cobb Salad home. It was one of the worse salads u have had. A side salad was better than what I received. To be honest I did not have bacon, edamame or feta cheese on it. However with that being said, I counted 5 maybe 6 very small diced pieces of chicken and literally 1 piece of a sliced black olive. At a cost of $8.80 this was terrible. I have eaten before at Cafe Zupas and this was by far the worse experience I have had.

Overall I like the concept of this place. It's a health-focused counter serve restaurant with a focus on build your own bowls or salads. The biggest problem I have with this place is the confusing ordering process due to how many options they have combined with the price. If you order a bowl, you only get a limited amount of things to add on before they start charging for each topping. All protein costs extra money as well. If you aren't paying attention, a $9 bowl can easily creep up to nearly $15. The portions are small as well and my small scoop of rice and chicken did not fill me up. I recommend ordering online to try and avoid the issues we had ordering in-store. Overall this is a good concept but they need to do some tweaking to their pricing structure.

Food is always solid. I came with my family and normally have a good experience. I went inside and got a salad with almonds and strawberries (strawberry harvest salad), but the almonds were very little to none. The food was good and fresh. Zuppas unfortunately gives very stingy portions. I've noticed it at all their locations. They used to give better portions when they first started opening locations. I got like 2 thumbs worth of chicken in my protein bowl. It was barely anything. They do not give much meat or anything near what the pictures look like. They also gave me a generous amount of lettuce and no dressing. I went and asked for some and and they said I had to pay for the dressing because it doesn't come with that bowl. Then I had to wait in line while my food got cold to buy dressing. The girl I asked was also kind of rude and didn't seem to care. I don't know if she was the manager or not. The cashier didn't seem to want to tell me who the manager was when I asked. She just said they were there. I wouldn't go to this zuppas again. All I asked for was normal strawberries in a cup that they had prepped in cups already. I got told no and I could only get chocolate covered strawberries. So I asked if I could get the chocolate on the side. They also told me no. So I was like sure. They probably have hard chocolate on the strawberries so you can't put it on the side. But then my friend went up and got a cup of chocolate covered strawberries, and she came back with melted chocolate that they absolutely could've put it on the side in a cup. We have placed a large team lunch (+15 orders) from here. Everyone has been able to find what they like. Many people picked the pick two option. The staff labels everything and make sure that it is in order. The order is always ready when we arrive. The online ordering system is a breeze, we have talked to the staff to verify the order and they were confident and reassuring.

Would recommend this if you are looking for an option that fits all tastes, dietary restrictions, and is for larger groups.

The food here is really good!! The service is decent. And there really aren't any bad choices on the entire menu. I especially like that every meal comes with a chocolate covered strawberry-- what a fantastic touch! I've been to this location twice- once to eat in, once an online order that I picked up at the drive through window. There are three reasons I gave only 2 stars:
1) when I ordered online, the system automatically prompted me to tip. I do not tip when I have to enter my own order and fetch my own food. What exactly would I be tipping **for** in that scenario? I've already done all the work except actually making my own food.
2) Then, my order was wrong anyway. I ordered 1 bowl of soup for myself, and 1 "try 2" combo for my husband (which also had soup- this is important). They only gave us 1 chocolate covered strawberry, 1 roll, and they left out the soup add-ins that I was upcharged for. I can't say this is intentional because I declined to tip, but it sure seems like a big coincidence if it's not.
3) The dining room is bright, airy, and pleasant. The tables and chairs are comfortable. But it seems like the staff struggles to keep up with wiping things down. My mother and I had lunch in the restaurant at around 3pm on a Wednesday (typically a slow time for most restaurants) and most of the tables were not bussed or wiped. More importantly, the tables are too close together for a handicapped person to navigate the space. I use a walker and I was lucky to get a table right next to the register, but I was not able to get between the furniture to get to the bathrooms while I was there. It seems like a small thing, but when you can't move around a public space freely, it becomes a very big deal to you.

TLDR: the food is great, but they don't always get orders right; the dining room could be cleaner, and it's too tight for handicapped people to move around.

I love this place, finally I can get a nutrient packed lunch that tastes heavenly and sticks with me for hours. I frequent the Good Life Lane (rarely do I dine-in) and I usually have great experiences. However, my last 2 orders have been missing 1 or more ingredients. Today I ordered a Nourish Bowl and it was missing roasted sweet potatoes, roasted cauliflower, AND goat cheese.
I am understanding to a point, but it was missing half of the ingredients, most being the items that make it so beautifully tasty.
I will say that out of the probably 20 times I’ve been here, it has been wonderful, and truly each employee is very kind.

First time in this location. I’ve been to all the Chicago locations. Love the atmosphere here. Ashley is a rock star. For what you pay the portions you get is pathetic. I ordered a large California Cobb salad and I was expecting a reasonable portion of chicken tomatoes egg and cheese. They have these tiny little spoons that are apparently the pre measured portion. The amount I was given wasn’t even enough for one serving. All I really tasted in my salad was the lettuce and the dressing. I rated it a 3 because the lettuce and dressing was good but couldn’t really taste the rest of it even though I paid extra for more which wasn’t worth it, it was barely there so all in all I would not recommend this restaurant. Great salads. The service was HORRIBLE. One person was taking orders -- completely separately -- then making the salads -- individually. Even as business picked up, just one person doing all of that. As things progressed (probably the wrong word), my salad never made it to the checkout station without my chasing it down. My wife had to ask twice for the included baguettes and strawberries. Take it to the table, pour our own drinks and bus our table ourselves. (And the POS card reader prompts the customer for a tip!?!?! For good service???)

Took a few min before anyone even spoke to us they were busy with a conversation. First time in the counter person seemed put off that we did not know what our how it all worked there. The soup was good the brisket sandwich was meh evening in it including the bread was cold and flavorless. May try again . But so far not a good start

WOW!!!! I absolutely loved the mushroom bisque soup here. Probably the best soup I’ve ever had. Creamy and plentiful with mushrooms. The BBQ brisket sandwich was a very surprising and delicious sandwich as well. The overall ordering experience is efficient. Time to get the food was quick, and everything was fresh, especially the baguette, I was amazed. Another wonderful surprise was the giant chocolate covered strawberry!! Entry and tables are ADA friendly. Parking here gets crowded at lunch.

Worst service experience I’ve ever had. Other cafe zupas are great, this location however is AWFUL! Severely understaffed, no manager in sight helping with the rush. They prioritized online orders over a line of people that was over 30 people long. Order was wrong. We waited at the register for 20 minutes waiting for 2 sandwiches. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

Service is always great. It’s always busy. Everything is clean. Everything is running down the lines smoothly with positive people. The manager is cool as a fan. We’ve had a few startup companies, try to move into Kenosha and all seem to be failing because of the quality. Seems like these people invest in their people I run a business and that’s the most important thing . I hope everyone’s getting paid well.

For many years I went almost every weekday to the Vernon Hills location, however now there is one closer my house in Pleasant Prairie! This one is also just as amazing and I’m able to enjoy it more often as I’m closer! Staff is wonderful, friendly and the food, of course is perfection. I’m not kidding when I say I eat here at least four times a week! Good stuff! 😍

1st time going might be my last. Ordered via App - pick up was suppose to be 12:01. Order was not ready to be pickup until 12:15. If on a lunch hour, 15 minutes waiting is a huge problem. Until they get there drive through, App ordering and counter ordering working more efficient, I won't go there again.

We tried Zupas for the first time. I was very impressed. The food was fresh, Great selection, and portions were more than I expected. I’ve been in retail sales for over 30 years and I can say the customer service level was at a very high level. Pleasant smiles and making sure that their customers were attended to promptly. Specifically Christopher, he really went out of his way to make sure my wife and I were completely satisfied with our visit. We will be visiting on a regular basis. Thank you.

I ordered "try 2 combo" with mushroom bisque soup and avocado chicken salad. I was pleasantly surprised how fresh all the ingredients were in my salad, salad tossed with a dressing before they put it in your bowl, which makes it just perfect with every bite. I was impressed with large portion side, ingredient uniqueness, price and friendliness of the staff! And! They give you a bun and a chocolate dipped strawberry with your meal! How awesome is that?! Definitely will be back to try more!
